Hopefully this has been worth the wait :D I'll have the next chapter up sooner.

Seiya shut the door quietly behind him as the nurses and orderlies ran by in the hallway, he glanced through the glass window and saw the blonde haired Ambrose general ran by. Seiya pushed the lock into place and turned off the main lights. He waited a few moments at the door then turned to the patient lying motionless on the bed. The room was dark save for the one soft lamp on the table in the corner. Pulling the privacy curtain around the bed to block them from view he grabbed the chair near the bed and pulled it to him. Seiya plopped down and stared at Serena as she lay peacefully, her chest moving up and down in a rhythm.

"You know you're not that bad looking," his eyes traveled from her face down the bed to where the sheets were pooled at her waist. "I'm sure your broody husband loves to wrestle with you," Seiya scooted closer to the bed, he propped an elbow on the edge of the mattress and stared. "In another life, were you not a traitor, we probably could have had something quite interesting." He reaches out and poked Serena's cheek, "No matter the Lady has a job for me."

Seiya pushed the chair back and hopped onto the bed, he leaned in close to Serena, their noses almost touching. "This is going to hurt, sorry. Actually no I'm not." Seiya placed his hand on Serena's face and closed his eyes. "Don't fight Princess, it will just be worse."

Seiya forced his way into Serena's mind and starting ripping through the memories. Unable to find what he needed he sped up his search crashing through her thoughts and subconscious. He was vaguely aware of her screaming, he felt her subconscious try to fight back by erecting barriers. He tore them down violently as if they were made of paper. "Where is Amara? Show me!" he demanded. He felt her fingernails grip his face. "Damn it stop fighting me!"

Alana looked away from the trio standing before her, "You can stop Lenobia but it's going to take a great sacrifice. All magic-"

"Comes with a price. We know the saying," Momiji interjected. "The question is who is going to pay the price. If what you've said is true one of us is going to bare that burden."

"Its not fair I know that, and it's unfortunate but-"

"Unfortunate! It's not a damn bad pizza Alana, it's our lives."

Alana nodded, "Yes but….there isn't a nice way to say this. The laws were broken, the balance is off. You're resurrection, the murders of the ancients, Kreon's death, and Hermione's baby. All of these things aren't isolated, everything is connected. Life isn't always fair sometimes it means-"

"Sacrifice," Hermione said. She looked down and cradled her stomach. "Life demands sacrifice."

Momiji uncrossed her arms, "Fuck that Hermione your kid isn't about to be cannon fodder for a battle before she's even born."

Hermione wiped tears from her eyes, "Momiji sometimes-"

"No it's not even something we are going to discuss, we'll figure this out."

Serena reached out and touched Hermione's shoulder, "Herm we aren't going to-" Serena froze.

"Serena?"

Serena let out a blood curdling scream and grabbed her head.

"Serena!" Hermione moved forward to comfort her friend.

Alana grabbed Hermione and pulled her back, "Don't touch her somethings wrong."

"Serena what's happening?"

"He's….he's inside," she choked out.

Momiji touched Serena's shoulder and felt the pain instantly. She saw Seiya searching through her memories and tearing at her mind. She wrenched her hand back and fell forward catching herself on her hands, the pain was burning in her head. "It's Seiya he's ripping her brain to shreds."

"Why?" Alana asked.

"He's searching for something." Momiji forced herself to her feet, "I need out of here now."

Alana looked at Hermione, "We need to wake her up."

Hermione shook her head, "If we wake her up now she may forget everything."

"It's a risk we need to take he's going to kill Serena! Or at the least turn her into a vegetable!" Momiji yelled.

Alana nodded, "Do it Hermione if he kills her there won't be any chance of us stopping Lenobia!"

Hermione sighed, "Try to hold on to your thoughts." Momiji nodded, "It's important Momiji try to remember everything." Her eyes flicked over to Serena, "Because I don't think she will." Hermione pulled her hand back, "Don't forget the map!" She slapped Momiji as hard as she could across the face and Momiji's vision went red then black.

Momiji woke with a gasp, disoriented her body panicked and she rolled. For a moment she was weightless then she slammed into cold tile. She coughed and lifted herself to her hands and knees. Her vision was blurry and her head was spinning. She collapsed on her front and waited for her head to stop pounding. After a few moments she realized that it wasn't her head that was pounding; she crawled across the cold tiles and saw two men trying to kick down a door to the room opposite her's.

Despite the blurriness of her vision she saw long blonde hair pulled back. "Zoicite," she whispered her lips dry. Another man was next to him throwing his shoulder into the door, she didn't recognizes him. "What are they…" suddenly her memory came flooding back. "Move," she choked on her own voice. She coughed then said in a stronger tone, "Move!"

Both men turned around and saw her lying on the ground. For a second they exchanged glances then both moved out of the way. Momiji held out her hand and squinted her eyes, she gathered her power in her hand then pushed it towards the door. The frame cracked and the door flew across the room to the far side. The men rushed inside while two nurses entered her room and picked her up. They were speaking to her but their voices were muffled and unclear.

"Serena, I need to see Serena," she said trying to push them away from her. She struggled against their grip trying to get away from them. "Let me go I need….to see…Serena."

A figure stepped into her line of vision blocking her view of Serena's bedroom. The two nurses let her go and she ran right into a strong chest. Warm arms wrapped around her gripping her tight. Momiji pushed against her captor trying to struggle to see into Serena's room. "Let…..me…."

"You're always trying to escape my arms," a familiar voice whispered into her ear.

Momiji stopped struggling and looked up into Kusanagi's eyes. "Mamo…."

"They've got her Momiji they're going to help her," he said. He cut her knees out from under her and scoped her up into his arms. Momiji felt her eyes roll into her head his voice the last thing she heard before she passed out, "I've got you."

Zoicite leaned over Serena's body checking her vital signs, he took out a flashlight and lifted her eyelid to test her reaction. Her eyes shook in the socket, "Push the dilaudid and get her hooked up fresh blood. I want a full work up on what happened and want a CT scan within the next twenty minutes." The nurses in the room started hooking Serena up to more IV's and documenting her blood pressure, reactions, and responses.

"What happened?" Kusanagi entered the room.

"Not sure exactly, her monitors started going crazy alerting us to her distress, I don't know how the door was locked but when we got in here she was alone. I'm ordering a new work up of everything to determine what happened."

"It won't matter," both men looked at Van, who was standing in the doorway. "She was attacked."

"Attacked by who?" asked Kusanagi.

"The Roderick assassin, he tried to kill her."

Zoicite and Kusanagi exchanged glances, "We'll question Letita but I'm sure she'll deny it, and since you saw no one in here we can't really go making accusations."

Zoicite nodded, "What do you want us to do?"

"Have a two guards here at all times to ensure that she's watched, I want a nurse to check on her every 30 minutes." Zoicite nodded, "I'm taking Momiji upstairs."

"I don't know if that's-"

"She woke up and blasted a door off it's hinges I don't think that she's in a coma, I'll give her some blood to speed up the healing process. Hopefully she'll be awake in an hour or so and we can talk."

Zoicite wanted to protest but knew better, "Make sure if she starts exhibiting any signs-"

"I know."

"You'll bring her back down immediately?"

"I will."

"Be careful Kusanagi."

"It's more like she who needs to be careful," Van said with a smirk. "Zoicite I think you should go tell Nephrite now."

"Tell Nephrite what?" asked Kusanagi.

"Van had a vision of…." Zoicite stumbled to find the right words.

"Lita's dead," Van said. "During the fight with Lenobia."

Kusanagi let out a heavy sigh, "Shouldn't Nephrite know, their bond would tell him."

Van shook his head, "They were in Brutus' tomb, protected by powerful magic. It probably blocked their connection."

Kusanagi ran a hand over his face, "Be gentle Zoicite telling a man that his wife is dead….there are few worse things."

Zoicite nodded looking at Van, "Perhaps you'll want to come with me?"

Van's eyes fell on Serena, he was silent for a moment then nodded. "I'll come to provide whatever help I can."

Van followed Zoicite from the room leaving Kusanagi alone with Serena. Kusanagi went over to the bed, Serena lay still save her rhythmic breathing. He put his hand out and touched her forehead, her temperature had spiked. He brushed the hair away from her face, "Whatever he did to you Serena I'll find him."

"You know where Amara is?" Letita asked.

"Yes ma'am."

"How long will it take you to fetch her?"

"Two hours maybe, I can travel by shadow and be there quicker," Seiya said watching as his Mistress signed her name to two documents before handing them to her assistant.

"Make sure these get to the others, I want each one to have a copy," Letita said. "The car will take you to the airport." The assistant nodded then left the two of them.

Letita leaned back in her chair steepling her hands in front of her. "Once you get Amara don't bring her back here. Get the information you need then send her back to Italy."

"And then my Lady?"

"Return, I'll be needing your assistance."

Seiya bit the inside of his lip, "The Witch gave her orders." Letita glared at him. "Mistress why are you working for that Witch?"

"The deal I struck with her is unbreakable. If I don't hold up my end of the bargain she won't hold up her end. I couldn't save the Winthrops before she exterminated them but I will not see the death of the Rodericks whilst I live."

"Misaki will try to stop you, she probably already suspects," he said.

"I have no doubt that she does, but I will do what needs to be done to ensure that Lenobia stays away from the rest of our family." Letita stared down at her steepled fingers for a moment before looking back at him, "Go find Amara and send her home."

Seiya bowed then left her alone. Letita closed her eyes and inhaled a deep breath. She turned herself in the chair and faced the window to stare at the mountains again. "Twisted webs and twisted turns." Letita saw movement in the reflections of the window. She spun back around pulling her knife from her sleeve.

"What are you doing here?" Letita spat at Rin. Rin said nothing, she smiled then turned away from her grandmother and disappeared. Letita stumbled backwards, her grip tightening on the knife. She looked around the room but Rin was gone and she was alone.

Ami sat on a table while a young medic took a large needle full of fresh blood and injected it into her ankle. "The blood is infused with an anti-inflammatory it should ease the swelling quicker," the girl said pulling out a bandage to wrap the ankle with.

"I'll take care of that," Jadeite said taking the bandage from the girl and sitting himself on the table. The girl nodded then left, Jadeite waited till she was out of earshot before speaking to his sister. "How are you?"

"It's still a little sore but it should be healed fully in a few hours."

"I'm not taking about the ankle," he said wrapping the bandage firmly around his sister's foot and ankle. His eyes flicked over to the body bag lying on the back of a flatbed truck.

Ami followed his gaze, "I don't know how I feel about it." She looked down at her shirt, "I have her blood all over me. I watched her die, I saw the life leave her but….but it's hard to reconcile it. We've been friends for a long time." There was a heavy pause between them, "I can't imagine what Nephrite must have felt."

Jadeite's hands paused momentarily, "I can."

Ami took her brother's hand and squeezed, "There are few things that compare to such a loss." Jadeite resumed wrapping. "Have you thought more about the Roderick girl?"

"Ami I hardly think this is the time."

"I disagree, losing one of our best friends makes me think of Zoicite, of all the things I want to tell him. It makes me think of so many things that I haven't done that I want to do," Ami said. "It makes me think that you shouldn't try to force away the feelings that you have for her." Jadeite didn't look at her his eyes stayed focused on his task. "You've lost one love Jadeite, but no one ever said she was you're last love."

Jadeite looked up at her, "I'll think on it."

"Whatever you're thinking about you'll have to think about on the plane," Darien said interrupting their conversation.

"Plane?" asked Ami.

"Brutus' plane he's flying us back tonight as soon as everything is loaded," he said.

"And how does our ancient Lord who has been asleep for the past several centuries have a plane?" asked Ami.

Darien shrugged, "Ask the man himself he's going with us."

Ami looked past Darien's shoulder to where the intimidating Roman was speaking with another young man. "I think I'll wait for a while."

"Darien did he explain how he knew that Lenobia was going to attack him?" asked Jadeite.

Darien shook his head, "We spoke briefly about it but he said he would talk more in detail on the plane. For some reason he wants to get in the air as soon as possible."

"Why?" asked Ami.

"Why what?"

"Why does he want to get home asap? I mean it's not like he's got a reason to go there." Ami looked between the two men. "Does he?"

Hotaru held Leo's head to her chest, gripping him tightly as she watched her Mistress drain the life from another young woman. Lenobia had transported them over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal when she reached her limit. She had found a lavish house in Chennai where there were some thirty party goers had been enjoying a lush carefree evening. Lenobia had broken through the window feeding almost instantly upon the first human she touched. She had dropped Hotaru and Leo in the corner of the room whilst she gorged herself on human blood and flesh, and had only just come back to her senses.

Lenobia threw the woman's lifeless body to the side and finally collapsed into a puddle of blood and lay back to stare at the ceiling. She was drenched in blood, her entire dress was deep red, and her hair was wet and matted to her skull and face. "Hotaru," she called out in a sing song voice.

"Here Mistress," Hotaru said from the corner.

Lenobia's eye found her, "Is he still alive?" Hotaru nodded, "Good use one of their phones and call Louis. Tell him we'll need a pick up."

"And where should I tell him we are going?"

"Moscow."

Hotaru was silent for several seconds as Lenobia ran her hands over her face and body. "My Lady what about Leo?"

"Shhh," Lenobia sat up. "Did you hear that?" Hotaru's eyes glanced at the staircase. She had heard the sound from upstairs, someone was hiding. "Looks like I'm not finished." Lenobia stood and began to walk quietly up the steps stalking her prey.

Leo stirred and let out a groan.

Leo stirred and let out a groan, Hotaru ran her hands through his hair. "Shhhh," she whispered.

"Hotaru," he croaked. "Where are we?"

"Chennai, the Mistress needed blood," Hotaru whispered.

"Blood?"

"Her body has started to change, since eating Minisa's heart her body has started to crave blood."

"She's dangerous," Leo said breathlessly.

Hotaru tightened her grip around him. "Hold on Leo I'm going to call Louis." Hotaru lowered him to the ground gently, Leo grabbed her and pulled her face down to his. Their eyes locked and Leo searched her gaze. "What are you looking for?"

"You've eaten the same things as mother, yet you don't crave blood like she does, why?"

Hotaru pushed Leo down to the ground and pulled away from him, "I never said I didn't, I just have more control over it than she….for now."

Hermione looked up and stared into the darkness. She spun around in circles trying to see through the dark. She opened her mouth and yelled for Alana but no sound came out. She clutched at her throat and began to panic. She opened her mouth to scream but still no sound came out. The only thing she could hear was her own heartbeat in her ears, she took a step into the dark, she felt tiny pricks in her feet, and shapes begin to appear in the darkness around her, she reaches out and grabs on to a dark shape, rough bark scrapes against her palm. She hears the cracking of twigs and voices from ahead of her. Carefully she moves through the trees towards the shapes, standing behind several large trees she watches as a small group of people check and assemble weapons. She watches as two men stare at a map on a laptop screen. Hermione leans forward trying to read the map.

A hand roughly grabbed her should and spun her around. Hermione looked into Rin's face; she opened her mouth to speak but Rin shook her head and pointed towards the East where the sky had begun to lighten. Hermione looked back at Rin, but the younger woman has disappeared. There is a flash of white light then everything is swallowed again by darkness. Hermione picked up the hem of her dress and ran towards the flash.

Kusanagi peeled the shirt from his back and threw it into the trash bin next to the sink. Blood had seeped through the wrappings on his back and was still oozing from the wounds Hermione had inflicted. He dampened a cloth and ran it gently over his shoulder, he wrung it out in the sink and stared as the dark tinted blood ran down the drain. His thoughts drifted back to when his blood wasn't tainted by spice, when he had lived with Kade and…

"You never talk about them," Momiji's voice came from the bedroom.

Kusanagi looked at her through the mirror in the bathroom, she standing in the doorway staring at him. "You should be resting," he said.

"I'm tired of resting," Momiji smiled. "Ironic tired of being tired, you gave me vampire blood?"

He nodded, "To help you heal. I didn't think it would work this fast."

"It's metabolized my body reacts differently to it now than it did before."

"Because of what Christopher did?" She nodded. "Did Rin and Fei tell you what he put into your body?"

Momiji shook her head, "Something Sophia left behind."

He began dabbing at his shoulder again wiping away the dark blood.

"You never talk about them," she repeated leaning against the doorway to the bathroom.

"Who?"

"Your children." Kusanagi paused and looked at her through the mirror. "You forget the longer we're near each other the more the 'bond' between us grows."

"You can read my thoughts?"

"Sense them, I felt this feeling of sadness and joy at the same time, then could hear children's laughter. I figured it was you thinking about them."

"You forget that we didn't spend a lot of time together before, I would have told you about them, eventually."

Momiji reached out and took the rag from him, she grabbed his forearms and sat him down on the toilet. "Let me help," she said running the rag under the water and rinsing it out. She began dabbing at the marks on his back.

"You seem different," he said. Momiji paused, "I assume it has to do with what you saw while you were asleep."

"Yes." Momiji rinsed the rag again. "Do you remember when we first met?" Momiji dabbed at his back wiping away the blood.

"I'll never forget it," he said. "You were so stubborn and feisty."

"A family trait," she said. "When I was young they called me hard headed."

Kusanagi smiled, "That doesn't surprise me."

Momiji smacked his shoulder, Kusanagi grunted in pain. Momiji ran her fingers over the wounds gently, "What did she do to you?"

"Don't know."

"No theories?" Kusanagi shook his head. "You have to have some kind of theory."

"Not one that makes sense."

They were silent for a few minutes until Momiji had wiped away all the dark blood and had started drying his back. "Do you miss them?"

"Who?"

"Your children."

There was a moment of silence and then he nodded, "I do."

"And your wife, do you miss her?"

"Yes."

"Do you feel guilty? For killing them?"

Kusanagi stilled, he turned around and saw that Momiji had a dark smile on her face.

"You did kill them didn't you? Ripped them to pieces and then fed on their flesh. I wonder did it taste good? Was it nice and tender?"

Kusanagi moved to stand but the Momiji look alike held out her hand and he was paralyzed. "Silly little Prince I guess your 'bond' with the little abomination isn't as strong as you thought it was otherwise you'd have realized-" She was suddenly cut off and thrown against the wall.

Momiji stood in the doorway breathing heavily her hand outstretched, "Get away from him you hateful bitch."

Lenobia stood up and cackled, "Good to see your still alive Momiji. Just wanted to come and have a little fun with the Princeling before you're all dead."

"Lenobia, fuck off," Momiji glared at her.

"Oh but I wanted to come and see you both, say my farewells. I was just about to go visit the little Seer and her bundle of baby."

"If you go anywhere near her I swear I will-"

Lenobia disappeared and reappeared in front of Momiji, "You'll what? No matter what you think you still aren't strong enough to go against me little girl, and I'm only getting stronger." She thrust out her hand and Momiji went flying backwards into the wall. "Don't try to stand up to me child, you're not your mother, you'll only kicked to the dust." She smiled and turned to Kusanagi, "See you around Princeling." The lights flickered and she disappeared.

Kusanagi felt the spell lift and was able to move again, he stood his legs a little shaky. "Are you alright?"

Momiji got to her feet, "Yeah but I'm a little more worried about her."

"Why?"

"She said before we're all dead, like it was something that was coming soon." Momiji took Kusanagi's hand and got to her feet right as someone knocked on the door.

"Come in," Kusanagi called.

The door opened and a young blonde entered with a bow, "Sir I am sorry to interrupt you but I was sent by Lord Nephrite. There's something he needs to discuss with you."

Lenobia sat up from the bed she had collapsed on; blood was smeared and drying on her face, and her dress and hands were covered. She stood and shed her dress then stumbled into the bathroom and turned the shower on hot. When she was finished she opened the glass door, Hotaru leaned against the wall opposite her. Lenobia grabbed a towel and began drying herself, "You contacted Louis?"

"He should be here soon, I also told him to arrange for a cleaning crew."

"Good, hopefully this little politician's wife had some fashion sense."

Hotaru was silent as she watched Lenobia search through the bathroom drawers for cosmetics and make up. "You're staring."

"Mistress I am trying to glean your plan," Hotaru said.

"My plan is to eliminate the ancients, and all the families that came from them." Hotaru was silent, "You question me?"

"Only the end goal."

Lenobia turned to the younger girl, "My goal is revenge for what they did to me, to my family." Lenobia looked back at the mirror and began applying bright red lipstick to her lips. "They used me, they turned me into their puppet and I served them obediently. Oh yes I was obedient…..and while I did that I built my revenge." She turned to Hotaru, "I'm going to destroy everything that they created, watch it burn to ash, then just to spite them I'm going to create an entire new race of vampires from my blood."

"The serum that Sophia created you're going to pass the properties it gave to you others?"

"Yes, you and I will be the progenitors of a new race. Once we consume the hearts of the Ancients they won't have an army strong enough to stop us."

"You forget Mistress there is another who could stand against us."

Lenobia began to pin her hair up, "Yes that little bitch Momiji. Sophia just couldn't leave well enough alone, but no matter, without the power of the Ancients she won't be able to stop me, and I have plans for her." Lenobia finished her hair and stared at her reflection in one of the mirrors on the wall. "I will tear her and her little friends to pieces." Lenobia turned from the mirror her hair and makeup finished, "Now let's hope this politician's wife has something decent to wear."

"What do you mean they're gone?" asked Momiji. She stood with Kusanagi, Zoicite, Van, and Nephrite on a raised platform in a surveillance room. Computer screens and monitors were mounted on the walls allowing them full view of the guest quarters and several wings of the house.

The largest screen was currently flipping between various views of the guest house showing it empty. "They've gone, the Roderick family has disappeared completely from the grounds," Nephrite said gesturing to the screens behind him.

"How is this possible?" asked Kusanagi.

"We don't know, one moment they were there the next the entire house was empty."

"A glitch in the system?"

Nephrite shook his head, "Not software related we've run every scan we have. There's a cut in the feed for a few moments." He clicks the remote in his hand, a recorded feed from the house appears. Several men and women are sitting around the house, moving from room to room, watching the news, eating when the video suddenly freezes. "It stops just like that." The video blinks once and then resumes, the house is now empty of people and all belongings. "And then they're gone."

"And the guards?"

"Missing memories. They said one second everyone was normal then the next they blinked and it was empty just like the cameras."

Momiji shook her head, "It's got to be Letita she's the only one who would have the power to do this?"

Kusanagi nodded, "But why?"

"We need to get to her and question her and her people, there's something going on here that shouldn't be."

"They're working for Lenobia," the entire room went silent, the group looked at the bottom of the stairs where Misaki was standing.

"How did you-" began Nephrite.

Misaki waved a hand and lifted the edge of her kimono. "It is of little consequence, but as I said Letita has struck a deal with Lenobia."

"Why would she do that?" asked Kusanagi.

"To preserve the Roderick line, she realized that as Lenobia killed off the Winthrops she would soon turn to the Rodericks, and then to us," Misaki ascended the steps. "Letita's strongest attribute is the desire to protect her family, even to the point of making a deal with the devil."

"But why would Lenobia order them to kill Momiji?"

"Because she's afraid of her."

Momiji raised her eyebrows, "Afraid of me? But she's told me on several occasions that I'm nowhere as strong as she is."

Misaki smiled at Momiji, "Not yet you aren't." Misaki stood in front of Momiji and stared into her face, she placed a gentle hand on her cheek. "You look so much like your mother." Momiji backed away from Misaki. "It's not something to be ashamed of Momiji Sophia was a powerful witch."

"Who took the lives of many innocent souls, including our Princess," Nephrite said crossing his arms and glaring at Misaki.

"Sophia may have been responsible for killing many of your friends and family, but she is also responsible for giving you your greatest weapon," Misaki turned back to her granddaughter. "Did you think she altered your blood for nothing my dear?"

Momiji glanced around the room, "I don't know what she did to my blood."

"I have hypothesis that I will share with you later, however, right now we need to prepare."

"Prepare for what?" asked Zoicite.

"For Letita."

"My Lady our people are ready."

Letita stood on a cliff overlooking the valley, in the distance she could see the Ambrose mansion. "We move in an hour, make sure everyone is clear on their objectives," the girl nodded and left Letita alone. Letita stared at the mansion in the distance then dug her cell phone from her pocket and called Seiya.

He picked up after the second ring, "I've only just arrived."

"Once you have her get her on the plane and send her home, they're expecting her," Letita said. "After you've don't that get back here we're moving in one hour."

"And if she's dead?"

Letita paused, "Then we'll avenge her. Contact me when you're on your way back."

"Understood," Seiya hung up and tucked the phone back into his vest pocket. He looked down at the shivering woman lying on the soaked floor. He had killed the two guards and the scientist who was watching over her. Then he'd smashed the glass freeing Amara and the water.

Seiya looked down at Amara and turned her over with his foot. She was breathing but still asleep. "Our Lady wants you to go home, but you failed in your mission. She may forgive failure but I don't." He pulled his long sword out of the sheath and held it above her neck, "Goodbye cousin." There was a metallic thunk as his sword pierced through the concrete. He pulled it out with a tug and the blood from Amara's neck began to gush and mix with the water on the floor. Seiya pulled a gas can from a dark corner of the room, opened the lid and turned it over. Standing on the bottom step he pulled a lighter from his jacket pocket and threw it next to Amara's body. The flames engulfed the basement before he had reached the front door and disappeared into shadow.

Momiji chewed on her thumb as Zoicite tested her reflexes and her reactions. Her eyes glanced across the room where Nephrite was speaking with two other men in the hallway beyond the examination room. "You haven't told him," she whispered.

Zoicite glanced in Nephrite's direction, "I thought it would be best to wait until we've dealt with the situation here. We don't know what the Roderick's are planning and we need everyone."

"A little cold hearted," Momiji said as Zoicite tapped her knee making it jerk.

"Pot calling the kettle black," Zoicite said his blue eyes meeting her green ones. "You seem to be fine, the blood helped you. Kusanagi brought those down from his bedroom." He pointed to the pile of clothes that sat on the chair next to the table, and the pair of tall boots that lay on top.

"Am I going back to the holding cells?"

"Prince Kusanagi has decided that you are to stick close to him, so once you've changed the guard outside of the door will escort you to him."

"Just like old times," Momiji muttered taking off her shirt and turning away from him.

"No not at all, if it was like old times then you would be dead. Executed for the crimes you committed against this family," Zoicite said.

Momiji pulled on the clean shirt, "You haven't had disdain for me before. Where is this coming from?"

"I grew up with Rei and Mina and Malachite, their deaths are because of you."

"I didn't infect Mina Anica, nor did I kill Malachite, or Rei."

Zoicite glared at her, "Your mother-"

"Am I my mother?" she snapped at him. She sighed and leaned against the table, "I'm sorry. Is that what you wanted to hear? I'm sorry that my mother went mad and used the virus to hurt your family, I'm sorry that I was naïve and I believed that what I was doing was the right thing. I'm sorry that I was in pain and took that pain out on everyone else. I'm sorry for….everything. If I could take it back I would, but I can't." Momiji stood, "My mother gave me a second chance she order Christopher to bring me back from the dead and even though to some I'm an abomination I'm going to use this life. I'm going to use it to do what I didn't do the first time. So be mad at me, glare at me, blame me, but do not doubt that I am here to help. I am here to protect and lend myself to these people, to your family in whatever way I can."

Zoicite glared then left her alone. Momiji closed the door and finished getting dressed. She was pulling her hair up into a ponytail when she felt a chill run down her spine, something had shifted in the air. Momiji zipped up the boots she had been given and pushed open the door.

An arm shot out in front of her, "You're not allow to be without an escort." The tall muscular solider who was waiting for her had short cropped hair, caramel skin, and bright blue eyes.

"Sooo then escort me."

"Where?"

"Well I really need to get my things that were confiscated from me when I got here do you happen to know where they would be?"

The soldier squinted his eyes, "Most likely in the armory or in holding, where we take most prisoners possessions after they're processed."

"Well seeing as how I'm no longer a prisoner is there any way I could get them back?"

"Prince Kusanagi said nothing about returning weapons to you."

Momiji huffed, "It's not all just weapons."

"Until the Prince approves it I can't take you to them."

Momiji let out a growl of frustration, "Fine then can you take me to Prince Kusanagi so that I can speak with him about getting my things back?" The soldier nodded and motioned with his hand for her to walk, "Swear this place should be called Alcatraz."

"Oh come now cuz it's not all that bad."

Fei sat on a doctor's stool spinning around with a bottle of Tequila in his hand. Momiji shook her head "Really this is how you spend your time?"

"Hey I'm tapped out, that little transportation spell drained my ass, I don't know how Misaki's even still standing. So I decided that I would use my time wisely….and enjoy the beverages that the Ambrose family had to offer." He toasted her with the bottle and then took a deep swig.

"How long has he been down here?" she asked her escort.

"A couple hours, he was asleep for a while then he got his hands on that somehow."

"Summoned it," Fei said smiling gleefully.

"We tried to take it from him once."

"Tried being the moist important word there," Fei said. "Hehe moist."

Momiji rolled her eyes, "Great help you're going to be." She put her foot on the leg of the chair and pushed him back into the exam room swiping the bottle from him as he lost balance and toppled backwards.

"Hey!"

"When you sober, which I suspect won't be anytime soon you and I need to have a long chat about our crazy grandmother," Momiji said.

"Like mother like daughter," Fie said.

"What?"

Fie felt around on the ground next to him, "Oh there's that." He pulled his eye patch out of his inner pocket and secured it over his eye.

Momiji looked at the solider who was listening intently. She handed him the bottle then stepped inside and shut the door. She knew that with his sensitive hearing he would most likely still be able to hear the conversation, but it made her feel better that she had the illusion of privacy. "What does that mean Fei?"

"What?" he asked leaning backwards onto the ground.

"You said 'Like mother like daughter.' Who were you talking about?"

Fei let out a heavy sigh, "Why do you think Sophia ran away from the coven?"

"She wanted to be with my father."

Fei blew air threw his lips, "Yeah that's the sappy Romeo and Julie version….really you're mother wanted to get away from her mother. Le-Ti-Ta."

"Why?"

"Letita is a fanatic, sure she was all calm and collected and peaceful in her younger days when she first took over the Coven, but over time she turned into a raging bitch," Fei covered his other eye with his arm. "She was super pissed when my parents adopted me."

"Adopted you?"

Fei sat up with a goofy grin on his face, "Yeah not blood you and me, though that's probably better for me." He laid back down and started mumbling to the ceiling.

Momiji sighed again and grabbed the door handle when Fei spoke. "Will say one thing though, Sophia was her favorite, she never did get over Sophia running away, never….never."

Fei went limp and a few seconds later let out a loud snore. Momiji rolled her eyes then opened the door and pressed the lock from the inside. The guard was waiting outside for her, the bottle of Tequila gone. "Tell everyone to let him sleep it off hopefully he'll be useful after. Now let's go to our favorite Prince."

Michelle exhaled a deep breath, then inhaled another one. She opened her eyes and looked around at the empty back bed of a cargo truck. There was only her chair sitting in the truck bed and Letita sitting on the bench watching her.

"Do you understand what I am asking of you?" Letita asked.

"Yes I'm just not sure if I can do it."

"You have to, I need them dead and even with all our forces I can't guarantee that we'll make it to them without being stopped," Letita said pulling her knife from the sheath on her leg.

"They're going to expect you now."

"I know, but that doesn't matter. What matters is your mission."

"My time will be limited I don't have enough strength for a long possession."

"Wait until Garret gives you the order from me by then we'll be in the midst of combat."

Michelle stared at her grandmother, "I'll do my best."

Letita glanced at her, "Don't fail me." She stood and jumped down from the back of the truck.

"Once this is over what will my mission be?"

Letita looked back at her, "To survive."

Kusanagi stared at the screens on the walls each showing a different part of the house. His focus was currently on the perimeter, he was waiting for something to move. He had stationed extra units around the house and in the courtyard to ensure the safety of everyone in the house, but he was still uneasy.

"Something isn't right," he muttered.

"What?" asked Nephrite.

"Something doesn't feel right," Kusanagi repeated. "We know she's planning an attack but how is she going to-" Suddenly all the screens turned to static.

Nephrite cursed, "Get the feed up we need to see-" There was a large pop and then the lights clicked off and everything was thrown into darkness. "It's alright the generator should kick in soon." There was a loud clicking sound but the lights stayed off. "Switch us to emergency power."

"Yes sir." A few more moments of darkness passed and then red emergency lights popped on illuminating everyone.

Nephrite pulled his phone out of his pocket but the screen was blank. "What the hell?"

"Magic," Kusanagi said. "I can feel it Letita did something. We need to lock this place down immediately." Kusanagi was about to speak again but his breath was taken away by a change in the gravity around them. He felt a tremendous weight on his shoulder force him to his knees, he knew instantly what was happening. "Damn it," he ground out. A flash of bright white light blinded him.

Louis' car pulled up in front of the large house Hotaru had given him the address of. He opened the car door and went to the front door. He lifted his hand to knock but the door opened easily. He stepped inside the foyer, he could smell blood thick in the air, "Lenobia? Hotaru?"

"You have to help him."

Louis jumped, Hotaru was standing behind him blood dried on her dress and arms. Louis reached out and pulled her near to him, "What happened? Are you hurt?"

"It's not my blood," she whispered.

Louis took a deep breath and recognized the scent, "Leo. Where is he?" Hotaru pointed down the hallway. Louis used his speed and was at the threshold of the room in an instant. He paused looking at the carnage and dismembered bodies. Leo was lying on his back near the wall, the only part of the room that wasn't covered in blood. Louis went to his side and put his hand over his chest looking for a pulse.

"Louis good, I was getting tired of waiting."

Louis looked over his shoulder to the stairs, Lenobia dressed in a bright red knee length dress came down the steps. A necklace of diamonds adorned her neck, and a white fur thrown over her left shoulder. "Leonardo needs medical attention," Louis said.

"Just give him a little taste and get him in the car we have places to be." Lenobia said pulling on a pair of white gloves over her hands.

"Lenobia the boy could be…"

"Could be what? Dying I doubt it," she said callously. "Really Louis you're being dramatic."

"Lenobia…"

"I don't have the patience for this, if you're so concerned then stay here with him-"

"He is your son!"

Lenobia paused, "I am aware of that."

"And you would just let him bleed out on the floor like this."

"If he dies it is because of his own foolishness."

"If he dies it is because you allowed it to happen!"

Lenobia glared at Louis, she flicked her hand at him and he flew backwards into a wall. "Don't try to lecture me now brother."

Leo let a loud wet cough and blood splattered across the floor.

Lenobia rolled her eyes and stared at him in disgust, "Pick him up and make sure that doesn't die. I want to make it to the airport and get on the way."

Lenobia pulled on her gloves and fixed her hat as she headed towards the door.

Louis went to Leo and Hotaru, "Hold his head up my dear." Hotaru lifted his head and opened his mouth. Louis bit into his wrist opening a vein and let Leo drink. "He'll need time to heal, we'll give him more on the plane." Louis picked up Leo's limp body and draped him over his shoulder.

"Louis." He stopped and faced Hotaru, blood dripping from the hem of her dress onto the floor. "You and I both know that Lenobia will let him die if it suit her needs. If he dies…..I…..I…."

"Hide your feelings child, she'll use them against you. I'll make sure he doesn't die tonight, as to the future I can make no promises." Louis shifted Leo on his shoulder and exited the house leaving Hotaru alone.

Hotaru fell to the floor, she dug her nails into the stone and tried to hold back her emotions. "Please, please don't let him die. Please let me control this."

"Hotaru!"

Hotaru got to her feet slowly, she clenched her fists and teeth fighting against the hunger and anger she felt, and followed the others outside to the car.
