Chapter Twenty-One
Disclaimer: I do not in anyway own Naruto.
"Are we not there yet?"
Naruto closed his eyes and sighed, muttering something incoherent. Peeking over his shoulder, he spotted the man responsible for the query. It was Z, the son of the Raikage. For the past week, he, Kaede, and two anbu were helping him escort the man to the Land of Hot Water.
Why you may ask?
Well, that was easy. A neutral location had finally been agreed upon by both Naruto and A. It had taken them a whole five months before they had settled on a location, but the point was that it had been accomplished.
The village within said country, Yugakure, was going to host the talks between their respective villages, discreetly. And seeing as they were going to be allies soon, he felt it wise to bring the Raikage's son, as a way to start off the talks smoothly.
Unfortunately, the young Yotsuki Clan member had figured out he was being escorted back home, just by studying his surroundings, as they changed the further north they went. Towards his home country. So, in his infinite wisdom, Z decided to push their buttons, not fearing any retaliation from them. So he asked questions. There was nothing wrong with questions, but when they tended to be the same ones over and over again, it tended to get on your nerves.
"No."
He was sorely tempted into placing a silencing seal on him, but refrained from doing so. He didn't want to be accused of mistreating the son of a kage, as asinine as that sounded, and risk losing the alliance over something so trivial.
"Are you positive we're not there yet?"
Naruto's eye twitched.
'Perhaps I can play it off as needing him silent so as to not attract enemies?' he mused silently.
The blonde shook his head. If things became unbearable then perhaps he would seal his vocal chords, but for now, he would ignore him. They were only a couple of hours away anyways, so he could hold out for that long. In the meantime, he would think happy thoughts instead. Such as new life being brought into the world via a friend. Or associate. Come to think of it, he wasn't sure what to classify his relationship with this man as. Meh, for the sake of not going off on a tangent, he would call the man a friend.
Tobirama was going to be a father.
The white haired Senju had been extremely secretive when it came to his relationship with the woman who carried his child. It was understandable. The woman's name was Haruki, and she hailed from the Rinha Clan.
When he and Hashirama heard that piece of news, well, they had teased the younger Senju endlessly about how even in this day and age, he was still following in Hashirama's footsteps. They had soon stopped, and had learned just how the two had met, and he could say that it was a very typical Tobirama situation. The woman was one of a select few who had moved over from Kiri to Konoha, to further improve relations between villages, and the two had meet on some random training ground. The rest was history. They had secretly gotten married, and were now expecting a child eight months from now, sometime in August.
And with the easy part of conceiving a child now done, the hard part of choosing a suitable name came next.
From what soon to be father had confided in him, a few names had been tossed around by the new couple. Tobirama admitted that names for a boy had come quite easily as he wished to name his son, if they got one, after one of his deceased brothers. Coming up with a girl's name had been quite the opposite. Neither came up with one they both liked, well, one that Haruki liked anyways.
Naruto withheld a chuckle from escaping his lips. Everyone knew that it would all come down to Haruki's decision on a girl's name. Tobirama would merely just be there, in the background, twiddling his thumbs as the decision was made.
"What are you so happy about?" interrupted Z.
The smile dropped from his face as he looked over his shoulder once more.
"None of your business, Z. So, why don't you shut up and keep moving."
The son of the Nidaime Raikage glared at the blonde, and was about to insult the man, but found that no words could escape his mouth. Looking down, he found an outstretched arm, with two fingers and a seal attached to his throat. His eyes widened as the blonde that had been feet in front of him just seconds ago was now within his personal space. He had been silenced in the blink of an eye.
"You all saw it." said Naruto, suddenly speaking up. "His loud voice was drawing unwanted attention to our group, and I had to keep him quiet. Right?" he asked his squad.
"Right." they responded.
Naruto nodded. "Good, let's pick up the pace. I want to be there before evening."
The others nodded, and those behind Z forcefully pushed him forward, making sure he kept up with them.
"So, is there any particular reason why my son is being gagged?" asked A, the new Raikage, looking at his fellow kage.
The group from Konoha had finally arrived in the village, and went straight for their inn. Which was also the location of the meeting. It had taken them a few moments to actually locate it since it was hidden from view.
Naruto shrugged. "He was attracting unwanted attention that would have put his life in danger." he replied.
A sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
"Alright, whatever. I don't care what the reason was, just release him already."
The blonde let the tone slide, and gave his anbu a small nod to do so. He also dropped the silencing seal, allowing Z the use of his vocals once more.
The son of the Raikage rubbed his throat, glaring at the blonde as he walked over to his father. Neither man said anything, and simply stared at one another before pulling the other into an embrace.
"Are you alright my son?" Z nodded. "Did any harm befall you while a prisoner?" he whispered.
Z shook his head. "None." he said.
A nodded, and then looked at the blonde across from him. Despite what he felt towards the man across from him, he at least did right by his son, and hopefully any other POW's.
"Let us begin the talks." he said, but was ignored.
Following the Namikaze's line of sight, he frowned. The man was looking at a wall. Continuing to look as well, his own eyes then widened in realization. Connecting the dots, he quickly realized the man was a sensor, and had felt something beyond the wall, and before he could bark out an order, chains burst forth from the Hokage's body, surrounding those in the room with a barrier.
BOOM!
The entire room they had been inhabiting was gone, as was part of the building it had recently been located in. Naruto gathered some wind chakra in his throat, and blew. A small gust of wind cleared out all of the smoke.
A had gotten up off the ground, being knocked down by the force of the blast, and started to look around for those responsible.
"Who would dare!?"
Naruto meanwhile gave his anbu orders to help the staff of the inn escape the damage, while securing the perimeter. They nodded and subtly vanished. He then gave Kaede a look, and she nodded, already knowing what her orders were, and soon she was gone as well.
"Aw, it appears they all survived."
"Hm, it seems you are correct, brother."
The shinobi from Kumo glared at the silhouettes behind the smoke, instantly recognizing their voices.
"Kinkaku, Ginkaku." spat A.
"What are the two of you disgraces doing here!?" snarled Z, ready to kill the two men who had shamed their village.
"Watch that tongue of yours, boy. Adults are speaking." growled Kinkaku. "And we're here to cause a little chaos." he stated, eying the blonde. "Though judging by the look on Namikaze's face, it seems we were expected."
The five shinobi from Kumo looked at the blonde kage, who wore a stoic face.
"Is this true, Hokage-dono? Did you know?"
Of course he knew, but he wasn't about to announce it to the whole world. If he did, then A would take it as him trying to lead him into some sort of trap, as asinine as that sounded, and it could potentially reignite the flames of war once more. No. He had no plans to kill the Raikage. Instead, he wanted to ensure that this alliance not only went through, but was strengthened. All in one fell swoop.
His plan was quite simple. Both he and A would eliminate the Gold and Silver Brothers. Unfortunately, things never tended to go quite as planned.
The Raikage's anbu had been the first casualties, following Z's order to kill the brothers, much to the displeasure of his father. To the blonde, it was not the fact that the men had died, lowering their numbers, that worried him, but the way they had died that did.
It was quick, so quick in fact that he wasn't even sure what it was he had witnessed. Though judging by the looks on the two remaining men of Kumo, it seemed they did.
"Care to fill me in on what those are?" he asked, looking in the direction of the brothers, and their items.
"Those there are three of the five treasured tools of the Rikudō Sennin." replied A, looking extremely uneasy.
Now that grabbed Naruto's attention, eying the tools once more. He had heard stories of the fabled sage from Madara and Hashirama, and even then, he wasn't sure such a man existed. He would need to re-evaluate his opinion if those weapons truly once belonged to the man.
"Where are the other two?" he asked.
"We have one hidden in our village." replied Z, not giving much away.
"And the other?"
"...Stolen by these two." answered A.
"Oh..."
Naruto noticed the two brothers growling at the mention of the other treasure they had stolen, and glared at him. That was when it clicked for him. He had the other tool! Now it made sense as to why the damn thing took enormous amounts of his chakra. It was created by the sage.
Reaching up to his right arm, he rubbed the seal he had placed there. Inside was the Bashōsen, a weapon he had no real use for. Sure it was powerful, but it didn't really fit with the way he usually fought. Still, it was better off being in his possession than in someone else'. Though he did have to wonder why the two brothers hadn't outed that he had it yet to the Raikage.
Looking at the siblings closer, he could see their eyes shifting from him, to the two Yotsuki men, and he now had an inkling as to why. While revealing he had one of the tools would probably strain the talks of an alliance between Konoha and Kumo, them revealing they had lost to him previously was much more difficult for them to reveal.
"This is true, but that weapon is far closer to you than you think..." said Ginkaku, eying the blonde.
'Or not.' thought Naruto.
Both A and Z caught the insinuation and looked at the blonde, keeping an eye on the two brothers.
The blonde still wore a stoic appearance on his face, though he really wanted to glare at the two brothers. Looking at the two men from Kumo, he needed to salvage this situation.
"They're lying." he said.
The Raikage and his son weren't exactly wearing looks of belief, looking at him suspiciously.
"Really? You're doubting my word over the word of two traitors?" he questioned, astonished.
Father and son looked at him a bit longer, not saying anything, before returning their full attention to their enemies.
Naruto knew they still suspected him, but that was fine. As long he got the alliance, they could suspect all they wanted.
"So, anyone want to tell me what we're dealing with here?" he asked, not knowing anything about these weapons.
"Those weapons are the Kōkinjō, the Shichiseiken, and the Benihisago." answered A. As much as it pained him to give away such information on the tools, he wanted to live to see the next day. And to accomplish that, he would need the Hokage's help. "These tools work in tandem. The golden rope around Ginkaku's arm marks you, and draws out the word soul."
"What's that me-!?"
The blonde didn't get a chance to finish asking his question as the two brothers had waited long enough, and attacked.
"Raiton: Bakurai(Depth Charge)!"
Naruto heard the attack, and watched as the one handed Kinkaku went for A and Z. He meanwhile started dodging the random attacks from Ginkaku, all of them in some way incorporating the golden rope, which he still knew next to nothing about. Despite that, he was still going to avoid it, and doing so would make their other weapons useless against him.
Drawing his own weapon, he blocked every attack aimed at him with the rope, and danced around the blade being swung at him, occasionally landing a strike with his free hand.
Ginkaku was starting to get frustrated with his situation, believing this should have been far easier with the sacred tools. He did not anticipate Namikaze being so nimble around such power, nor his weapon being strong enough to withstand a direct blow from his own. They were supposed to make the user invincible!
The blonde could see the frustration rolling off of the silver haired one.
"Aw, what's the matter, Ginkaku? Getting tired? Or are you mad you haven't caught little ole me?" he taunted, putting some distance between themselves.
Ginkaku roared in anger, charging at the blonde, blade raised, and rope at the ready.
Naruto grinned and threw three of his Hiraishin kunai, one heading directly towards Ginkaku, the other two going left and right. He then vanished in a yellow flash.
The silver haired sibling tensed and had to make a snap decision. Dodging the one coming straight at him, he swung his blade towards the kunai on his right. The blonde appeared to his left.
Ginkaku swung his golden rope, hoping to mark him, but the blonde vanished once more, this time appearing to his right. Reacting as fast as he could, he swung his blade once more, but received the same result.
Naruto reappeared directly behind the silver haired brother, and then used the Hiraishin formula he had placed from his previous position.
"Hiraishingiri(Flying Thunder God Slash)!"
The blonde was suddenly in front of his enemy, blade in front of him, blood on the tip.
"Kin...Kaku..."
Ginkaku fell down onto the ground lifelessly, blood leaking from his mouth.
Chakra exploded behind him, causing a massive shockwave, nearly knocking him down. Looking over his shoulder, he grimaced at the sight. It was Kinkaku, and he was shrouded in chakra that looked eerily similar to that of Kurama's. What made it worse were the six tails swaying back and forth behind him.
'Ah crap.'
"Argh!"
Hearing the anguished cry, he spotted A with a large gash across his chest, most likely thanks to the pseudo-jinchūriki. That however wasn't the worst part. The Raikage was probably poisoned as well. He then saw Z suddenly appear next to his father, lightning crackling all around him, grabbed him, and then vanished, leaving him to deal with this.
Kinkaku had see the two Yotsuki men leave, but he did not give chase. He didn't care about them. All he saw in front of him was the blonde who had not only embarrassed him after their first encounter, but now killed his baby brother in front of him. Nothing else mattered anymore. All he wanted was the death of the man in front of him, along with his family. He wouldn't rest until he ended this man's line.
Not waiting until the man attacked, chains once more exploded from his body, ready to wrap around the pseudo-jinchūriki. Unfortunately, his attack wad evaded.
"I will not be so easily caught." stated Kinkaku, shocking the blonde.
He didn't think any sense of self would have remained after the man had transformed, it appears he was wrong. And since the man kept his wits, he knew to avoid his chakra chains. It was going to be like fighting the Shodai Raikage all over again. Nothing but retreat, attack, retreat, attack.
Enormous amounts of energy were being gathered around the mouth of Ginkaku, as alarm bells were ringing in Naruto's head.
'Shit!'
He recognized that attack, and judging by the amount he was continuing to gather, he was looking to wipe Yugakure off the map. He would need to time his plan of attack perfectly.
Accessing a tail's worth of chakra from Kurama, he grabbed another of his tri-pronged kunai and flung it as far as he could, towards the sea. Just as Ginkaku fired off the bijūdama, chains erupted from underneath him, wrapping themselves around him. As the pseudo-jinchūriki struggled, another chain popped up, this one holding Naruto's black blade, and struck the man turned beast through the heart. If this same blade had hurt Kurama the first time they had fought, then it should do the same towards those using his chakra.
Running through his hand-seals, Naruto's Hiraishin formula appeared in front of him.
"Hiraishin: Dōrai(Guiding Thunder)!"
The tailed beast ball made contact with the barrier in front of the blonde, and was transported away towards the sea.
BOOM!
Naruto and many others of the still standing village felt the tremor course throughout, a few of them catching a glimpse of the bright light off in the distance. Dropping his cloak, and ignoring the pain, he walked over to Kinkaku.
The man had since stopped struggling, his last moments of trying to remove the blade forever etched into his memory. Removing the blade, he removed his head, along with his brother's, and sealed them away. Hopefully, by killing the two, Kumo would become an ally without a doubt.
If they didn't, well, he would certainly be angry. Having just gone through what he did, all for them, all for this alliance. Stopping, he took a deep breath. There was no point in upsetting himself with something that hasn't happened yet.
Destroying the bodies, and stationing his anbu in the village to help, he began his return to Konoha, his job still not done. He still had one meeting left today.
'Hopefully Kaede was able to capture him with little trouble.'
Running at his full speed, what had taken his squad, plus guest, a few weeks, had taken him little more than a few hours. Finally, he was home, but he did not head towards his family, or his office. No, he went towards an area not known to any but a few. The reason being because he had only recently just created it.
It was a sealing chamber.
One that was built specifically for today, and one that could mask the chakra of a bijū. Entering the chamber, he was greeted by his agent, Kaede, and another.
"How have you been, Hanzō?"
The little salamander boy glared up at him in hate, hoping he would drop dead.
"I can see that you still hate me." he sighed. "It's understandable I suppose. I did kill your father, and kick you out of a window..."
Hanzō grit his teeth in anger. "...And my mother. You killed her as well."
"Hm, really now?" he feigned ignorance. "Are you positive?"
The glare intensified as the boy nodded.
"Then how is she standing behind you?"
Hanzō turned around to look at the person behind him. Removing her mask, Kaede revealed a tuft of blue hair, the same that belonged to Hattori Junko.
"Hello, my little salamander."
"B-But how?" he questioned, all of his anger vanishing in an instant, now replaced with confusion.
"How, huh?" hummed the blonde. "Now that is quite the long story, but one you must hear." said Naruto. "You see Hanzō, everything from that point in time when I kicked you out of the tower has been planned by your mother and I." he revealed.
That wasn't entirely true. In reality Junko had nothing to do with any of it, all of it was Naruto's plan, but the youngster didn't need to know that. All he needed Hanzō to believe was that his mother had been looking out for him since the beginning.
The young salamander was giving him his undivided attention.
"Everything started the moment I arrived in Amegakure." he said. "As I was making my way towards the tower, towards you and my daughter, I ran into your mother. As I was cutting down the rest of your clan, she made a request of me before I cut her down as well. She wanted me to kill your father." he revealed. "I did not find out she was your mother until much later, after I had my clones remove her from the battlefield."
Hanzō nearly shivered. He remembered the moment he saw the blade descending towards his mother and remembered her body falling to the ground lifelessly.
"After I healed your mother, I had her become one of my agents. It was in return for fulfilling her request." he explained. "Anyways, as I fought your father, I felt the chakra signatures of Kinkaku and Ginkaku. I did not know what they were there for-"
"They were there to recruit my father into some organization." said the Hattori heir.
Naruto knew which organization he was talking about. He nodded and thanked the boy for the information.
"As I was saying, I did not know what they were there for, and my priority was not to fight them, but my daughter. I knew it would have become increasingly difficult to rescue her if they had entered the village, so I made a choice." he said, looking directly at Hanzō. "I kicked you out of the tower, towards their direction, to keep them busy. In a sense you were sacrificed, but I also knew they would not have killed you because of what you hold."
Hanzō scowled remembering that. His back still hurt after his landing.
"Since you are here, you obviously survived, and I assume that the brothers even taught you a few things beneficial in controlling your bijū chakra?"
"How do you know that?"
"...A hunch." he said, still sore from his previous fight with the pseudo-jinchūriki. "Anyways, had I taken you myself, which had crossed my mind, then I wouldn't have been able to give you the same amount of attention. And besides, I was not in the right state of mind at the time, and just looking at you would have reminded me of your father. So much so that I may have done something I would have later come to regret." he admitted.
"So everything I've been through has been for my sake!?" yelled the youngster.
Naruto nodded. "Aye, that it has. I know you don't think so right now, but when your older, and a nasty situation arises, your experiences will guide you through it." he said. "Am I wrong? Everything that has happened to you, has it not made you into a stronger individual? If it has not, then I will apologize to you right now, for everything I have done." he said. "Though I will not apologize for killing your father. That man needed to die." he said, unabashed.
Hanzō hesitantly nodded, it had indeed made him stronger. Though he did not make a comment about his father.
"So what now then?" asked the young salamander, looking at the Hokage. "Are you going to teach me?"
The blonde gave him an iffy motion. "From time to time, but only in being able to use the power of the bijū inside of you." he replied. Since he couldn't do anything about the bijū being sealed anymore, he would make sure to at least keep an eye on their host. "The rest of your training will be taught to you by your mother." he said, smiling.
"Wait, you mean we're-"
"Free to go." finished Naruto, nodding. "That's right, but before you go, I want two things from you, Hattori Hanzō."
"What?"
"First off, I want you to be a better ruler than your father ever was, and rebuild Ame into the village I know it can be." he said. Hanzō for some reason stood up taller when he heard those words.
"What's the second?"
"Secondly, when your older and Ame has been rebuilt, I want an alliance with your village." he said, revealing his request, shocking the boy. Naruto knew the boy still held animosity towards him, but that was what his mother was there for, to buff it out. Which he knew she would do. After all, a mother's love overrode all other emotions. "Can you do those two things for me?"
Hanzō looked up at the man who had caused him so much pain, but had also been the one to remove his father, and return his mother to him. He honestly didn't know how to feel about the man. Feeling something land on his shoulder, he looked to see his mother's hand. He looked up at her smiling face, as she nodded to him.
"...I will try." he replied. It was all he could manage at the moment.
Naruto nodded. "That's all I can ask for." he said. "Well, the two of you are free to leave."
Junko took her son's hand into her own as she looked at Naruto one last time. "Thank you." she said, looking into his eyes. "It wasn't always easy doing everything you asked of me, but not only did you fulfill your promise of seeing my son safely back into my arms, I also learned new things and met new people." she said. "So once again, thank you." she thanked him, bowing.
"Think nothing of it, Junko." he replied. "I know what it's like to worry after your child, and besides, you have done me a great service as well. One that allowed me to use my other agent in different places." he said. "If not for you, then things in this war may have turned out a bit differently. So I thank you as well." he said, bowing to her.
She nodded, and then looked to her son. The two Hattori's then vanished from his sight.
The blonde kage released the sigh he had been holding in. Exiting the sealing chamber and putting up an illusion to disguise it, he teleported straight home. He would deal with the events of today tomorrow, after he had a full nights rest.
– One Month Later –
"And graduating at the top of his class, Uchiha Kagami." announced Hashirama, clapping.
He wasn't the only person clapping for the young Uchiha heir. Naruto, Akane, Izuna, and even the ever stoic Tobirama was clapping, a small smile on his face. There were others present at the ceremony of course, for their children, but seeing Kagami standing up there on the podium meant a bit more for four people.
Izuna and Akane were the boy's family, so they were a given. The other two were the best friends of the boy's father. They were both extremely proud of Kagami, and knew his father would be as well. Naruto suddenly looked up as he spotted a raven circling around the ceremony, and he knew this particular bird belonged to Madara.
"So, how go things?"
Looking away from the raven, he looked to his right, at Tobirama, and sighed.
"Things could be better." he admitted.
That was understatement. After his meeting with the Raikage had been interrupted, he hadn't heard a word from them since. His only message from them had come in a few days ago, and it wasn't good.
A, the present Raikage, was deathly sick from chakra poisoning, and probably only had a few months left to live, at that. So, in response to his coming death, he named his son, Z, the Sandaime Raikage, and the first thing he did as the man in charge was scrap their talks of an alliance. They still signed the treaty of surrender, and paid their reparations, but that was it. Z had stated in his letter that his village did not need his help, and that he would build it into powerhouse on his own.
Naruto did not doubt his words, as he knew Z was very capable. Still though, it miffed him that his idea of trying to unify their villages through killing the Gold and Silver brothers had blown up in his face.
'Well, at least my meeting with Iwagakure went better.'
And by better he meant nothing drastic occurring. He met with their new Tsuchikage, Mū, and the two discussed the negotiations of Iwa's surrender, and that was pretty much it.
"Oh? How much better?" asked Tobirama, both he and Naruto clapping as they watched Yūto advance to his next year.
"No point in saying since it didn't happen." he replied. "Enough about work. How are things with you and your pregnant wife?" he asked, having seen many smiling families at the ceremony.
The white haired Senju shrugged. "Same as usual. I want to eat there, I want to eat that, do you still think I'm attractive? You know, those types of things." he said.
Naruto nodded, oh yes, he remembered those days.
"Though we may have decided on a girl's name if we have one."
Now that made the blonde perk up. "Oh? Care to share?"
"No point in telling since it might not happen." he replied. "Besides, I've been...forbidden from telling anyone."
The Hokage understood. "Your wife wishes to keep the name secret just in case years down the line you have a girl then, and not now."
"Got it in one."
"Are you planning on having another?"
"No."
Naruto smirked. "Never say never, Tobirama. Besides, raising children isn't all that bad. Sure, there are going to be rough patches, but nobody ever said doing anything worthwhile would be easy, and trust me when I say this, it's worthwhile." he said, thinking about his own children. "Seeing your child succeed in something is a reward unlike any other. Why, just look at the face of your brother..."
Tobirama looked over at his brother, and he could honestly say he'd only ever seen that face on the man a few times in his life. The man was smiling proudly at his son.
"You hide your tension well." said Naruto, causing Tobirama to stiffen. "But any man who is or has been a father can clearly see through you. It's nothing to be ashamed about. I know I was scared. My biggest fear was if I would be a good enough father to my children."
Tobirama's teeth clicked.
"Ah, I see the question has crossed your mind." said the blonde, clasping a hand onto his jōnin commander's shoulder. "Just be yourself, Tobirama. And ask for help when you believe you need it. Your brother and I are always here. As are Mito, Tōka, and Akane."
The jōnin commander nodded, sending the blonde a silent thank you for the pep talk.
"C'mon, let's go and congratulate the boys." said Naruto, walking towards Kagami and Yūto, Tobirama trailing behind him.
– Six Months Later –
"What's taking so long?"
Tobirama was pacing back and forth, wearing out the tread in his footwear.
"I know you're worried, but you need to have faith and be patient." said Naruto, watching the man. Mito and Tōka, who were also present, nodded as well.
"He's right, Tobirama. It will not do you any good to stress out." said Malice, also present, her head resting on Hashirama's shoulder, who was sleeping.
"Easy for you lot to say. You've already been through this." muttered the younger Senju brother.
Naruto shook his head in amusement. Never had he seen Tobirama so...shaken. It was quite a sight to behold. Though his nervousness was well founded. His wife was currently in labor, had been for the past couple of hours with his daughter. Yes, Tobirama was going to have a baby girl.
All of them were currently waiting with him in the waiting room. The only person not present was Akane, and that was because she was watching all of their kids. Izuna was within the village, and would occasionally stop by to check up on things.
The only blonde stood up. "I'm going to get something to drink, anybody want anything?"
A round of no's were his answer.
"Do you mind if I join you?" asked Tobirama. "I could use some fresh air, and a change of scenery."
Naruto nodded and the two men walked out of the waiting room, and towards the empty cafeteria. It was currently 4 am, and they were the only two men by the water cooler. As he took a sip from his cup, Tobirama suddenly spoke up.
"Do you mind if I ask a favor of you, Naruto?"
"Depends, what kind of favor?"
"Will you, Tōka, and Mito be the godparents to my child?" he asked bluntly.
The blonde nearly choked on his drink in surprise. He looked at the man to see if he was being serious here or not. He was.
"Not that I wouldn't mind, but why are you asking me? What about Hashirama? Or other friends?"
"I don't have very many friends." bluntly stated the Senju. "And even if I did, I wouldn't have asked them since they wouldn't be able to offer the same amount of protection you and your wives could." he explained his reasons. "I didn't ask Hashirama because he is already going to be my daughter's uncle. Besides, you already married my sister, and I figured that by doing this, it would bring our clans together much closer than ever before."
"Well, you certainly put a lot of thought into this." muttered the blonde. "Are you absolutely positive you want my family?"
Tobirama nodded.
"Then I would be honored to be her godfather, as I'm sure Tōka and Mito are going to be when I inform them."
"Thank you." said Tobirama. "C'mon, let's head back."
The duo had since returned and waited a few more hours until Tobirama had been called in by the doctor. Everyone else was waiting with abated breath. Naruto, with his two wives, who were happy to know they were going to be godparents, Hashirama with his own wife, still upset he wasn't going to be a godfather.
The white haired Senju walked, and everyone stood up to meet him.
"Well?" asked Naruto, impatiently, wanting to see his goddaughter.
Tobirama gave everyone a very rare smile. "There were no complications. My daughter came out healthy." he said. "Would you like to meet her?"
They all nodded as one.
He held the door open, allowing the doctor to wheel out his wife. Everyone spotted the small bundle in her arms.
"Everyone, I want to introduce you to my daughter, Senju Tsunade."
End of Chapter Twenty-One
Okay, I've got some explaining to do. Because of age complications and the time-line, I had to make Tsunade Tobirama's daughter, and not Hashirama's granddaughter. Originally, it was planned this way, but since I introduced Yūto so late already, the time frame for the birth of Tsunade would have been way off. So, I tweaked her origin. Not all that much is different. She is still a Senju with her other half being part of the Rinha Clan, like I had originally planned. So yeah…
I also finally revealed who Kaede was, anyone see that one coming? Left little clues here and there in other chapters. Hopefully some of you weren't expecting a huge reveal on her character or something.
Naruto finally killed the Gold and Silver Brothers. So along with the original Hanzō, 1st Raikage, and now the two brothers, he's killed four kage-level enemies.
Well, that's it for me. If there is something I didn't address, then feel free to leave your question in the review section, or send me a PM; I always answer those.
