Hello my readers! I'm really sorry this took me so long, I'll try to make my updates more frequent in the future.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy ^_^

Warm bodies, skin on skin with legs intertwined sharing secret whispers in between careful kisses beneath soft blankets. He never wanted her to leave, she needed to stay in his arms forever. Even then it didn't seem like enough time to show her how much he cared. It would be like nothing ever happened, like it was all nothing but a bad dream and all he had to do was wake up then she'd be there.

But then she'd roll over the usual sweet smile absent from her face and speak in monotone voice "Its time to wake up."

Then just like that, he was brought back to consciousness and reality.

Many mornings ended up this way. Boone waking up, alone. Every day had been the same for almost over a year. Jasmine was in a coma, after the swelling in her brain went down Julie said she was in a sort sleep like state and wasn't sure when she'd wake up if at all. Since then everyday was the same; he woke up, headed to the fort and sat with her or helped out the doctors. As of recently he'd talk to Julie about how he was feeling, she'd said it'd help him but he didn't really feel any different. Sometimes they would talk about Jasmine, sometimes Carla or even just the political unrest. As for Cass and V, Veronica would help nurse patients in the fort and Cass would make supply runs for the doctors.

They never found out why the legion had sent Vuples after her; he managed to escape, knocking out Cass in the process. They hadn't had any run-ins with the legion since, but they had essentially gotten what they wanted; she couldn't do anymore to help the NCR or to harm the legion.

"Just have to keep going. She'd want me to keep going." He said to himself as he rolled out of bed.

He dressed and left his room, pauseing just ouside the kitchen; stopping and eavesdropping on Cass and Veronica's conversation.

"I want to have hope she'll wake up…I do…but its been almost a year. I miss her but we cant keep living like this." Veronica said gloomily sipping her coffee

"I know, Ive considered heading back west but Boone would go nuts because he thinks" Cass was cut off by Boone entering the room

"Because Boone thinks what?" he said "I'm still here because I owe her that and so do you."

"Because Boone thinks this is his fault, is what I was going to say. Now listen, you're not the only one who thinks that what happened is their fault ok? This is hard on ALL of us so please try and be a little considerate." Cass said angrily

"Considerate? Yeah your one to talk! How is this your fault anyway? Do you think you could of saved her if you weren't such a drunk?" Boone said almost yelling

"No, you prick! I'm the one who brought Vuples into the 38 in the first place because I couldn't keep it in my pants. If it wasn't for me she'd be here with us." Cass said her voice cracking as she brought her hand to wipe her tears.

"Cass…I...I'm sorry." He said reaching to put a hand on her shoulder but she jerked away

"Yeah..sure you are." She said sarcasticly "Just…just fuck off."

He needed to get out of there. So he left, then decided upon going to talk to Julie.

Arguments about whether to move on or stay with Jasmine were frequent but usually never that bad. He understood her reasoning, about how Jasmine's chances of waking up were low and how dwelling on a lost friend would get them nowhere. But on the other hand; what if she did wake up? And he wasn't there? She would be all alone, again. He couldn't let that happen, he couldn't let her think he abandoned her. He also couldn't bare the idea of being alone himself, the time he'd spend alone after Carla was the darkest period of his life; he didn't want to go there again. He was at a stalemate with himself on one hand he could try and start again and do his best to move on but that ment leaving her alone or on the other hand staying and waiting for a day that might never come.

He reached the fort and the huge wooden doors swung open as he stood in front of them, Julie stood there with a large smile on her face. He was confused, She seemed so joyful. Its not that she wasn't a happy person but more that she wasn't one to show extreme emotion, much like him. But once she spoke he understood and was soon sharing in her joy. Words that he had been waiting what seemed like a millennia to hear.

"Boone…She's awake."
