Matthew and John kept talking and playing together, as the 'adults' sat in the next room.

As soon as the two boys went out of the room Sherlock jumped up and went to Lestrade, as his mother and father began talking to Mycroft. He pulled out his newspaper and showed Lestrade.

"Let me take the case."

Greg just stared at him, with confusion.

"What?"

Sherlock sighed,

"Please let me take the case."

Lestrade's eyebrows had risen as far as they could. Sherlock must have been desperate, to have said please.

"What case?"

"This one." Sherlock huffed in irritation, as he thrusted the newspaper article in Lestrade's face. Greg looked at it and knew this one. Scotland Yard had been working on it, for what seemed to be ages. He wanted Sherlock's help, but Sherlock was now looking after John.

"Sherlock, you've got a son now."

"So have you, yet you continue with your job."

Lestrade huffed a sigh, "It's different you've only met him, you still need to look after him."

"I can get Mycroft, mummy and daddy or even Molly to look after him, whilst I do the work. It wouldn't take long. Well not as long as the imbeciles at Scotland Yard."

Greg hesitated, they really needed Sherlock's help. "Okay, but you've got to promise to still look after John and not abandon him."

Sherlock's smile filled his face, "Agreed."

They stopped talking, and heard the end of the conversation between Mycroft and his parents. Mycroft was speaking,

"Don't worry, we'll all be on maximum alert and extra cameras will be fitted in and around his flat and the building."

Sherlock gazed up straight away and saw that his older brother was trying to hide a panicked face.

"Why are you stalking me Mycroft? I mean you stalk me all the time, but on maximum alert?" Sherlock was getting annoyed

Sarah spoke up, "Sherlock, when you're settled in with John more we'll tell you."

"No. I have enough secrets from my brother. I don't need them from my parents as well."

"Sherlock." His mother spoke calmly. This is when Sherlock noticed that his dad had disappeared. "Now is not the time, maybe when it's just us, but not when John and Matthew are here. Please."

"Whatever it is I can handle it."

"Not yet, later, please William." His mum pleaded. Sherlock sighed, his mum never called him William, unless it was serious.

"Okay."

"Thank you." His mum smiled, but it didn't quite reach all the way on her face. Sherlock could hear noises coming from the bathroom. His father, getting rid of his delicious dinner, by being sick. "I think your dad is not that well." Everyone knew it wasn't due to the food. "I think you all should be on your way, sorry." She looked to Lestrade as she said the last word.

"Oh, no, don't worry. I understand. And umm thank you, Sarah, for accepting me with Mycroft. I know, if my parents were still around, they wouldn't be quite so understanding." Lestrade scratched behind his neck nervously, as Mycroft put his hand on his arm on Lestrade's shoulder. This made Greg relax a bit more.

The Holmes mother smiled, "That's okay. I'm just glad Mycroft's happy."

She walked over and hugged Lestrade, whilst whispering in his ear, "Don't hurt him."

He whispered back, "I won't."

She smiled at him, as she hugged Mycroft. He resisted the hug, until he gave up.

Sarah then embraced Sherlock, "I hate you keeping secrets from me."

"Please, Sherlock, I will tell you in time. Just not today."

Sherlock nodded.

They all walked into the next room, where they heard laughter and talking. They entered and saw Matthew and John chatting, whilst there card game has been abandoned on the floor.

"...So-so he picks up random people and shows them around space?"

"And time."

"...and time. Don't they-they get concerned? A-a random stranger saying that they can go through space and time and they just follow him?"

Matthew happily sighed, "It's not, well, I don't know how to explain it."

John just laughed, as Lestrade interrupted them.

"Boys we're gonna get going now."

They both looked disappointed, however they nodded.

John spoke up,

"Where's Richard?"

"Oh, he wasn't feeling too good." Sarah replied.

The two boys embraced Mrs Holmes, and she went on about how this should happen more often.

Eventually they were all sat in the car, travelling back.

"Dad, can John sleep round next week?" Matt asked Lestrade.

Greg had a wide smile on his face,

"Of course he can, he can sleep round anytime."

Sherlock's ears picked this up, if John stayed round Lestrade's, he could then focus on the case.

A/N: I'm so sorry, it's been forever since I have updated. My school has been loaded with work. I will now try to update when I can. It may not be every week. However I will finish this story and am thinking about adding sequels to it. :)

Reviews, honestly, make my day. If you would like to, you can do. :)

Due to a communication barrier (between different countries) if you would like to ask any questions about anything that's fine. Or if you just generally want to ask questions, about this, it's fine.

Thank you for reading! :)
