Chapter 21: Identity

Those students that have her classes, were postponed for a week and in that duration, Kagome was resting and away from the school staying in a location that belonged to Sesshoumaru who had recently acquired it, after hearing the problem that she had recently encountered.

After that encounter, it had somewhat unsettle her, reminding her of the past again and of the possibility of how things might actually happen all over again as well, the idea of it brought some fear back into her at the idea of it. It made her feel vulnerable from memories of the past, her inabilities and how she would have to hide behind of the backs of her comrades all the time.

Though it took hundred of years for her to change, but Sesshoumaru had corrected that flaw and made her stronger than she once was. Now she has that ability to protect those around of her, though now she felt herself wavering and scared of what possibly might happen in the near future.

"You're wavering," Sesshoumaru said as he entered the room, not saying much or anything else as he walked towards her.

The study here is just as well equipped with the books that she likes and materials that she was formally reading. And the rest of the materials are all within where Sesshoumaru stays along with Kagome's own pocket world. Kagome looked at him, a look of vulnerability in her eyes as she leaned back against the chair, her shoulders and back slightly hunched, showing her worry through her body language.

"He could be back," Kagome said almost weakly, her eyes looking down as she looked uncertainly.

"That person around you," he pointed out, already having heard about that person from his General, especially how he always seem to be there around of her despite of Kagome's ignoring him or how she will turn him away.

"I don't know who he is, he's elusive and annoying," she told him, saying the last part with a more softer tone that was noticed by Sesshoumaru who narrowed his eyes at it.

Sesshoumaru did not say anything but watches her every movement to see the peculiarities in her behavior, but said nothing.

"You return back to that school tomorrow," he told her, turning his back on her as he walked out of the room.

She is already used to his behavior and did not say much about it, only turned her head to look in the direction that he had left. After so many centuries has passed it was still really hard to accept his new change of image in his wardrobe, but it suits him perfectly and made him look really hot if she may say so herself.

Her return to Hogwarts was not questioned by the Ministry, especially after Sesshoumaru having handled them, putting a stop to it, however she got a feeling that they will not hesitate to approach her as well. Then there is also the case of the Elder Wand that Kagome did not pass it over to Sesshoumaru, already telling him beforehand that she is able to handle it.

Though during that one week stay that she had been taking time off to rest, Kagome took that time to get used to her abilities again, using it again on a wider scope as she expanded her abilities, taking her time to get used to it and slowly cultivated through meditation for better control.

"You look better," the mysterious male said once Kagome entered her room, as she turned an eye towards him for chose to ignore him.

Seeing him, remind her of that day when he was the one who carried her back to her room. The General was the one who told her of who carried her back to her room, and even more embarrassingly it was also him who caught her and everything. To allow another to see her vulnerable and weak side, made her feel awkward and not at ease about it.

"Thank you for that day," she told him stiffly.

"You're welcome, between us, there really is no need for 'thanks'," he said

Kagome did not say anything, but what he said somehow made an impact in her and made her freeze up for a second at his words. He saw that she was not seeing anything and felt that it was a good thing. Going up towards her, he hugged her from behind taking in her scent, making her flinched as he felt her body's warmth.

"On second thought, how about giving me a reward as 'thanks'," he whispered that into her ears, letting his warm breath tickled her ears and neck.

The low vibration of it made her moan involuntarily, a sensation that she is not really familiar with but something that she could say it irresistibly sensual and made her feel weak and her stomach to do flips. Seeing the small blush upon her face and the way she tilted her head back a little as though in enjoyment, made him smile coyly.

Just as when Kagome was about to open her mouth to say something, but he tilted her head back with a gentle ease of his hand on the side of her face, and immediately she felt his tongue invaded her mouth, immediately exploring and taking possession of it, tasting every little corner of her. He had restricted her from escaping it, as his arms became a form of cage to prevent her from moving away or avoiding him claiming his reward.

'Breath,' his voice rang in her head, not once allowing her to break apart from him to even breath, but instead reminded her using the same way as he would when being Yan.

Kagome's eyes widened in surprise as she look at the male wildly, trying to push him away. There was a realization in her eyes but was immediately taken over by another as her face flushed red from the blood rush and the loud pumping sound of her heart and the continuous flipping of her stomach. She pushed him away this time more forcefully with a touch of her 'shocking' ability as she got out of his arms, moving away from him to put distance between them.

"Yan," she breathed out, feeling somewhat breathless from their kissing as she looked at him uncertainly.

There were one too many thoughts raced through her head but she felt disappointment in him, and yet at the same time it brought out the feeling that she had long ago buried.

"Why,"

"I'm insecure,"

It was hard to tell whether or not he was lying, but she did not take it as the truth as well. Looking at him sharply, Kagome walked around of him carefully as her eyes flashed a warning at him that he ignored.

"You do not need to fear me remember, after all, we have a blood bond," he told her with a purr, eyes watching her lazily with a certain allurement in it, as he walked towards her like a dangerously prowling predator.

"And you never thought to tell me," she hissed at him.

"I didn't think that it was time," he told her, closing the space between them.

Kagome moved away from him as she gave him a warning glare.

"I'm not going to do anything to you," he informed her as he reached out towards her, slowly reaching out to grab hold of her hands to pull her into his arms, but she resisted and did not allowed him to do so.

She did not say anything and neither did she move, like a deer caught in the headlight. Yan looked at how she had all her shields up again and how much of a prickly hedgehog she is behaving at the moment.

"Know that I will not harm you," Yan promised her softly with a look in his eyes that still held it's own amount of secrecy hidden in its depths.

"I will see you again in the morning," he told her, seeing that he was not going to get anywhere and disappeared before of her eyes.

Kagome did not say anything, until she was sure that he was gone did she went towards to her bed and sat down thinking about Yan who now had made it known that he does have a humanoid appearance.
