(221b Baker Street)
(Sherlock's P.O.V.)
"Lestrade," I said quickly, hoping it would buy Emily some time.
Hope? Since when do I hope?
"Not now, Sherlock." Lestrade said, almost out the door.
"You won't be able to catch her." I called after him.
Lestrade stopped. Then he turned around to face me.
"You know her?!" Lestrade asked, anger radiating off of him.
"I see you do too." I said. "In fact," I studied him. "You've met her twice before. Once quite recently."
"Sherlock," He began, sounding very serious. "She is wanted for two investigations. Both of which, she is the main suspect of."
"She didn't do it." I said, matter of factly.
Lestrade seemed to have sobered up and blinked at me.
"What?" Lestrade asked.
"Is everyone deaf today?" I asked no one in particular. "I said, she didn't do it."
"You don't even know what she's done." He said, exasperated.
I studied him quickly before saying:
"You think she killed a man. But she didn't. You don't know the full story."
"And you do?" Lestrade asked.
"Not yet." I said.
"Then how can you say she didn't do it?" He asked.
"Because I know she didn't do it." I said sternly. "Just like how I know everything else. She's innocent, Lestrade. I suggest you look for your killer elsewhere."
"I'm still going to take her into custody, Sherlock." Lestrade said. "Regardless if she did it or not. She's the only suspect. She might know something. So if she happens to come back, let me know."
"Lestrade," I began.
"I mean it, Sherlock." He said. "If she comes back, tell me. I don't care what time it is. Regardless of what you may think, she's dangerous."
Lestrade began to walk out of the flat.
"And if I don't?" I asked.
Lestrade stopped and looked at me.
"Then I will have to arrest you with trying to tamper with an investigation." Lestrade said.
"Isn't my word of her not being the one you're looking for be good enough?" I asked, irritated.
"Yes, normally." He said. "But this isn't a normal caseā¦.Good day, Sherlock."
And with that, Lestrade left the flat.
I let out an irritated sigh.
