"What?" said Haruhi not sure she heard what she thought she heard. Not only did she not think the man who was holding her in his embrace was capable of saying something along those lines to anyone but how was she suppose to feel in general when someone said to her?
"Haruhi?" said Kyoya tipping her chin upwards to look at him, "Did I make you uncomfortable with what I just said?"
"No, just caught me off guard," said Haruhi.
"I understand," said Kyoya, " I did just spring this on you didn't I? All the more reason I'm not going to ask for a reply just yet."
"You're not?" asked Haruhi again surprised by the way the boy with her was acting.
"Of course not," said Kyoya, "A response to something like that requires rational thought and a clear thought. So I am merely going to let you think long and hard about it what it was I just said in hopes you return my favor."
"How long are you willing to wait?" asked Haruhi.
"As long as it takes to know you've made the right choice," said Kyoya. He leaned forward more and kissed her again, "I just hope I's a decision that makes us both happy."
"And what about Hikaru/" asked Haruhi.
"Don't you worry about him," said Kyoya, "I'll deal with him until you're ready to tell me what it is you feel for me."
"Really, for that long huh?" asked Haruhi.
"How long do you think it'll take?" asked Kyoya.
"I don't know," Haruhi admitted, "But it's definitely something I'm going to be thinking about for a while."
She got up to go. However she was stopped when Kyoya reached out and grabbed her hand.
"Do you have to go now?" he asked slowly getting her to sit back down with him.
"Well," Haruhi tried to think of a response. Before she could think of an answer she felt a kiss from him again. The kiss started to get heavy and Kyoya was starting to press himself against her again. Next thing Haruhi knew she was being laid down on the seat with Kyoya looming over her kissing her more.
"No, No Kyoya," she said pushing him off of her, "None of that, not like this. I don't want to do something like this here! It's one thing to do to it here in the privacy of one's house, but not here in public where anyone can walk in on us."
"You're right, forgive me," said Kyoya, "I suppose I got carried away."
"It's okay," said Haruhi as she managed to maneuver out from under Kyoya and stand up again. "If it's alright with you I think I'll go home now and think things over. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Sure," said Kyoya. He stayed and watch Haruhi walk off before heading out to his car waiting for him in the parking lot. To his surprise he found Tamaki waiting for him by the limo.
"Hello Kyoya," he said with an overconfident smile.
"Hello Tamaki," said Kyoya.
"So, how did it go?" asked Tamaki.
"How did what go?" asked Kyoya.
"You know, with you and Haruhi," said Tamaki eagerly.
"Well we talk andwe both agreed to let things cool down a bit before we make any real rash decisions in regards to anything serious between us," said Kyoya.
"Does that mean one of us could try having a chance with her in the meantime?" asked Tamaki. At that Kyoya grabbed his friend's shirt and pulled him towards him.
"No, that I can assure you on!" he said, "Until I hear otherwise, you and the others had better stay away from her, understood?!"
"Oh of course," said Tamaki smugly.
"What is with you and your attitude at the moment?" asked Kyoya.
"Well lets just say you've proved something beyond a reason of a doubt with your protective nature in regards to Haruhi," said Tamaki, "You're in love with her." Kyoya slowly loosen his grip on his friend's shirt.
"Yes, I know," he admitted, "I actually confessed that to her already."
"You did?!" said Tamaki, "Kyoya that's great! What did she say in return?!"
"She didn't say anything at the moment. She wasn't sure what to say," said Kyoya.
"Oh," said Tamaki.
"It's alright," said Kyoya, "I told her I could wait. I'd want an honest and rational from her so I'm more than willing to let her think it over for now."
"Well good for you. I hope it works out in your favor," said Tamaki.
"Why are you being so supportive with all of this Tamaki? Don't you have your own feelings for Haruhi?" asked Kyoya growing suspicious.
"Of course I do, but I'd prefer seeing a happy ending when two people who really care about each other wined up together then to see one person be forced into something where they're not 100% happy with the person they're with," said Tamaki.
"And you don't think Haruhi would be happy with you?" asked Kyoya.
"I don't know," said Tamaki, "She surely knows how I feel about her but she all she does is rebuff me. Then there's you, who I know for a fact has a hard time dealing with love have actually found someone you love. So I'd rather try to see you my best friend have a good chance at happiness first before I worry about my own."
"So you're willing to put your chance for happiness on hold for my sake?" asked Kyoya.
"Indeed I am," said Tamaki, "for now. Don't make me regret what it is I'm doing for you Kyoya. Oh and I should also mention, not everyone in the club's as willing as me to just step aside for your sake. If I were you I'd keep a sharp eye on Hikaru when it comes to Haruhi. You know how he is."
"Yes, yes I do," said Kyoya remembering his encounter with Hikaru earlier that day, "And he knows how I am so I say we're both armed and ready for what's about to come."
At Haruhi's house.
Haruhi is sitting in her room thinking to herself about the events that just took place.
'My heart hasn't stopped pounding. When he kissed me...wait that's right we kissed...but we have already done so much more...So why is it that when he kissed me it felt a little different? It felt almost as if his feelings were being poured into every kiss. Also in a way we have always been together in some way or the other it's almost as if he never left my side. Even when he was rudely left at the mall expo.'
Haruhi started to remember all the times when her and Kyoya were together and what has happened between them.
'"Hikaru, Kaoru I believe this young man is in the same class as you isn't he?"
"Yea but he's shy he doesn't act very socialbly so we don't know much about him" The realisation that hit his face was surprising to me.
'There was also when we were helping the girl who got the habit of host hopping. He was a very good dancer from what I saw, but for some reason it was HIS idea for me to 'Accidentally kiss the girl on the lips just to get at Tamaki.
Which was a strange first kiss for me.
Also when we were going through the physical exam he said "More wealth than you can ever imagine." But his face said "Hurt her and I'll hurt you." However, the crack he made about the poor small time doctor was not necessary. Rich bastard he smiled when he said it too!
I remembered when he smashed the camera after Tamaki saw that he thought I was crying. Somehow I think he did that because she hired scary tough guys and they hurt Renge and then it hurt me. Wow that sounded selfish...Maybe I'm over thinking this, but when I said I knew he wouldn't do it at the beach house he seemed a little disappointed...UGH WHAT AM I THINKING!'
"Haruhi I'm home!" Haruhi immediately came out of her thoughts by her dad's voice.
"Oh hi dad." Haruhi came out of her room with a strange expression.
"Haruhi did something happen today?" asked Ranka.
"Well uh...you promise you won't get mad?" Haruhi asked sheepishly.
"Hmm well now you have to tell me regardless if I get mad!" Ranka insisted
"Okay...Kyoya kissed me today and claimed to everyone in the host club that I was his."
"He what!?" Ranka shouted. Although in his mind he was thinking, 'So he finally got nerve eh?'
"Are you mad?" asked Haruhi.
"Well what did you say?" Ranka responded.
"I told him that I need to think about it."
"What did he say?"
"He said he understood and that he loves me."
"Wow that was unexpected. How do you feel about him?" Ranka kept asking.
"That's why I told him that I needed some time to think."
"I thought you loved him," Ranka said quietly.
"What do you mean?"
"Well when ever you two are around each other its like...there is a different atmosphere. It's almost seeing yin and yang inside of two people."
"Yin and Yang!?"
"Yeah think of it this way, there are little dots in the yin and yang right?"
"Yeah and?"
"Well think of the white as the light, and the black as the shadows or the dark."
"Dad where are you going with this?"
"You are the little dot of light in his darkness, and he is the bit of darkness in your shining light. They say that it also symbolizes day and night as well."
"How?"
"Well we couldn't call it night-time if there wasn't a day time and vies versa. They can't exist without the other. Take your shadow for example."
"Dad hold up when did you get so...intelligent?"
"HOW DARE YOU? My darling daughter doesn't think I'm smart."
"It's not that it's just I never really heard you talk like this before. You are putting in a lot of effort to prove a point."
"You're right because this is something that is important to you." 'And me.'
"Okay then. What about my shadow?"
"Do you have a shadow in a completely dark place?"
"No I don't."
"Why is that I wonder."
"Because the light gets caught onto an object and it casts a shadow."
"Kyoya is your shadow and you are his ray of light. It seems to me that you equal each other out."
"Hmm...sorry still don't understand."
"You told me that when you ended up meeting him in the mall when the expo. was going on right?"
"Yeah, and I saw a different side to him that I really didn't know he had."
"You said that you also caught a glimpse of his smile when you turned the corner."
"Yea it was...different."
"You saw right through him Haruhi. I think he has slowly fallen in love with you because you tore down his Façade."
"Yeah I guess but that doesn't help how I..."
"Feel about him? I believe it does. You took time to understand him and even though he was rude you stayed with him at the mall. I also know about the beach house incident between you and him. He told me about it and apologized over the phone. He said that he was surprised when you didn't try to fight back and when he did let go you didn't run and he heard through the door that you basically told Tamaki that nothing happened. Why did you say that Haruhi?"
"Well honestly I didn't know what would happen if Tamaki knew and nothing really did happen."
"Haruhi I know you are oblivious so please just tell me this. How do you feel when you are normally around him?"
"Well I guess I would say I feel peaceful."
"That is the same way I felt with your mother when I started falling for her."
They suddenly both heard the sound of his phone going off.
"I have to go to work Haruhi just think about the yin and yang thing okay sweetheart? Also try to pay attention to your feelings a little more closely."
"Okay dad. Have fun at work"
"Oh I will!" With that he left with a girly smile."
Kyoya was at home and he was in his room thinking over what had happened.
"I confessed to her. I really do love her. I have all this time. I never once left her side and that time at the beach house my heart slightly broke when she told me I wouldn't do it. I didn't know then but I know now that I had already fallen in love with her. She truly is a fascinating young woman. When I'm with her I don't feel like I'm drowning in the heavy darkness of being the third son. She gives a little ray of light. Like she did at the mall when she saw right through me. That has got to be the first time in a long time that something surprised me into a smile."
Smiling at the thought He looked out the window and it quickly went to a frown. 'Storm clouds and they are heading towards Haruhi. Why? Why does this have to happen?'
He changed clothes and put on a white T-shirt with Black pants and sandals. He then ran down stairs stopping at his maids at the bottom.
"Where are you going young master?"
"Out. Don't follow. My orders."
"Yes Sir."
'Haruhi wait for me please!'
