It was the longest flight in the world for the couple. When they landed they checked their phone. Aunt Karen said they were attempting to stabilize her.

The couple arrived at Mount Sinai and rushed to Nadia's room. Karen had texted it to them. They arrived and saw Karen and the twins in the waiting room.

They were in tears. Karen explained that Nadia just had a seizure and they were working on her. Fitz & Olivia both broke down. By the time they pulled themselves together the doctor came out.

"Mr & Mrs. Grant"

They stood up.

Dr. Bruiton smiled, "She is going to be fine. So relax just a little. I know this is scary."

The couple breathed a sigh of relief. Fitz asked, "What happen?"

Tiffany came around the corner. She was the mother of Emily. Emily & Nadia had become best friends. Tiffany & Emily were both distraught.

Tiffany said, "It is my fault. When we bake treats or I buy them I put Nadia's on a purple tray because they are sugar free. I was running behind so I text my husband, and asked him to put out the treats for the kids. He is aware of the trays, but I forgot to tell him to put the sugar-free treats go on the purple tray. So Nadia ate the cookies and her sugar went through the roof."

Tiffany was crying.

Dr. Bruiton stepped in, "She immediately called 911. She told the dispatcher that you showed her how to give Nadia insulin in the event of an emergency so they okayed for her to administer a dose which has made her treatment a lot easier on us. Her cells are out of whack which is what triggered the seizure. We are treating her with fluids as well as Potassium. Her speech is a little slurred but it will return to normal once we get her levels under control. She will likely spend a couple of days, but she will make a full recovery. She asked for you earlier. She was almost sleep when I left out so she is knocked out now, but you can go in. We have her in a suite. The sofa has a pull out bed. I'll check in again with you before I leave."

The couple thanked the doctor.

Olivia went over to Tiffany who was still distraught. She was upset that not only was Nadia sick, but she had messed up her daughter's friendship. Emily was really shy so the kids assumed something was wrong with her. She didn't pick up on things as quick as others so some kids had teased her, but Nadia took to Emily and Emily was the same.

Olivia hugged them both, "Tiffany we are not mad. It was a mistake but you handled it like the doctor said. She will be fine."

Olivia stooped down to Emily's level, "Sweetie Nadia will be fine after awhile and she will be back at your house, and you will be at mine I promise."

"So you are not going to make Nadia stop being my friend. I should have noticed and told daddy."

"Oh honey. This was not your fault or your mom and dad. It was an accident and no Nadia is still your best friend. How about you head home and get some dinner and a good's nights sleep and come back tomorrow. Maybe she won't be on as many medicines that make her sleep."

"Okay Mrs. Liv."

Fitz hugged them both, "Livvie is right. No one is mad. Just scared but everything is going to be fine."

Both of them calmed down. Tiffany's husband Dean walked over to his family. He turned to look at Fitz, and Fitz could see the guilt in his eyes.

Fitz shook his head, "My wife and I just explained to Tiffany and Emily that Nadia is going to be fine. She will remain here for treatment, but as far as we are concerned nothing has changed. Thank you for taking care of our daughter. She will be back."

Dean nodded, "Thank you but I still feel guilty and I'm sorry. We will pay for whatever your insurance doesn't cover. It is the least we can do."

"Thank you for offering but that is not necessary. Take your family home and feed them and let them get a good night's rest. When Nadia is not on as many meds she is going to want to see Emily."

Fitz & Olivia made it to Nadia's room. It was a little scary for them because it was their first time seeing her in the hospital, but they knew she would pull through.

Olivia climbed in her daughter's bed. They loved all three girls but Fitz bonded with Alaina when he volunteered so she was really a daddy's girl while Nadia immediately bonded with Olivia when they visited the group home so she was a mommy's girl. Addie was equal opportunity which worked well for them.

Nadia immediately relaxed in her mom's arms. Thirty minutes later she woke up and she was so glad to see her mom and dad. It took her a moment to get her bearings together, but when she did she immediately freaked out. Her monitor started going off.

Olivia caressed her daughter's face, "Look at mommy sweetie"

She did.

"You are fine. Mommy and daddy are here. We are going to get you all better, and Emily will come see you. Don't worry you can still hang out together."

"Really. Not sending me back?"

"Never. Who is going to help me pick out a new book to read? Who would build computers with Uncle Huck? Who is going be Emily's best friend?"

Her speech was slurred but otherwise okay, "They didn't mean it. I should have asked Mr. Dean since Mrs. Tiffany wasn't home."

"It was a mistake sweetie. Next time Mr. Dean will know and you can ask to be sure okay. You'll have to stay to get some more medicine, but otherwise you are okay."

Her blood pressure went back to normal. The nurse just double checked a couple of things to confirm, and she left them alone.

"Is daddy here?"

"I am Pumpkin. You know I have to make sure all of my girls are okay. Did you really think I was giving you away?"

"I didn't want you too, but I would have understood. It has happened before."

"Maybe but remember you are our daughter. According to the law you are ours just like Addie. The only difference is mommy didn't carry you. The paper says no matter what you are mommy and daddy's girl forever and ever. Mom would be really sad if she didn't have all her girls."

Nadia smiled, "I would be really sad do. I missed you both."

"We missed you more."

Olivia gave her some water. She curled into Olivia's side and went back to sleep.

Fitz knew that Olivia wasn't going to leave her side which was fine.

"Baby, I'm going to head home to check in on our other two and pack you two a bag. What do you want for dinner?"

"Whatever you decide is good baby. Thank you."

"Are you sure you are okay? Do you need anything else from me?"

Olivia looked at her husband, "You are doing it. Thank Christina for watching the girls for us."

Nadia stayed in the hospital for five days. She still wasn't back at full speed, but there was no need for her to be in the hospital.

The morning after Nadia was discharged she woke up sick. She had the flu and a cold. Because of her diabetes they had to monitor her even more due to the meds causing her glucose levels to go up so she remained home for the time being. The school was great. They emailed Olivia all of her assignments so she could stay caught up.

Olivia was grateful that she had the husband she did. Fitz was taking care of Alaina & Addie in addition to their business so she could concentrate on Nadia.

Olivia could tell that being sick was taking an emotional toll on Nadia. Since her speech was stilled a little slurred she hated talking.

Olivia decided that she would do something to cheer her up. After she took her lunch meds and fell asleep Olivia went to work.

Addie woke up and she brought her in the kitchen and fixed her a snack. Fitz had been going non-stop making sure that she was not overwhelmed.

He walked in the kitchen and kissed his girls, "How is our big baby?"

"She is slowly on the mend, but emotionally she is worn down. So I thought I would spend some time with her instead of just taking care of her. Aunt Karen text me. She is coming over soon, and is going to be here for a bit."

"Sounds good Livvie. We will handle the other girls."

Olivia hugged him, "I am so grateful that you are my husband. That you are my partner in life. I love Alaina & Nadia so much, but the toll their sickness takes on them at times is hard, and I'm glad you are always here to help us through it."

"No place I rather be. They didn't ask for this, and I don't want them to feel like them having this disease is a deal breaker. If we show them we love them regardless then they will grow up and expect it from others."

Olivia nodded, "I never thought about it that way, but I agree."

She looked at her husband who looked like he wanted to say something else. They just stared at each other for a few moment.

"I still want more babies. Like you just said the girls having diabetes is not their fault, and it isn't ours. We have the love, money, and time to expand our family. I rather take less cases."

"You know I want more babies, but I know that you will have to deal with more than I do. So as long as you are happy and okay with it and not just doing it for me then I'm good."

"I want it for us baby."

"Then we will continue to strive for baby number four."

A short time later Nadia made her way downstairs. She went over to her daddy who hugged her. "How do you feel sweetie?"

"Okay. I'm still a little loopy."

Addie came crawling over to her sister. Nadia smiled, "Hi Addie Boo"

Addie immediately began to giggle. It was the cutest thing ever. Addie loved when her big sister talked to her. Fitz pulled Nadia into him. Addie crawled in Nadia's lap. Nadia 's head was in Fitz's lap, and they were all content.

Alaina came home a short time later. Fitz could tell that Alaina was getting back to her normal self. She was worried about Nadia. For a long time all they had was each other.

Olivia finished getting everything ready for her and Nadia. Once Aunt Karen arrived she grabbed Nadia, and they snuck down to the basement.

The room was supposed to be Fitz's man cave, and at times it was but he made sure that the children and Liv would be comfortable down there as well.

They made it to the basement where Liv had set up for them to have a sleepover just the two of them. Nadia was mature for her age. Being in foster care did that, but she wanted Nadia to enjoy being a child.

Nadia looked at her, "Mom what's this?"

"This is girl's night. Just the two of us. I made us some dinner and snacks. I have your meds in the refrigerator. So I was thinking we go ahead and take a shower and get in our PJ's and binge on Madagascar."

Nadia smiled, "Just the two of us."

"Yes, we can watch the movies, laugh, and talk about anything. Get your mind off of being sick."

She didn't say anything at first.

"Nadia, I know that I make sure you are taken care of but so did my mom. I want to be a better mom that she was. I know I can take care of you, but I want you to know I'm there for you. That I have time for you. I want us to just hang out and have mother-daughter time whether we do what we are doing tonight, shop, get our nails and hair done, or other fun things that are just for the two of us. I love you so much, and I know being sick has taken a toll on you. You are much more than your illness. You are my daughter. My oldest baby who I love so much, and I am thankful that I have you."

Nadia looked up and smiled, "I love you too mom. I stopped asking God to help me, but I kept praying for him to help Alaina. I didn't know until I met you and dad that he listened to me. I can't wait to spend time with you tonight and in the future. It's great to know what it feels like to having a loving family."

The two of them enjoyed their evening together. Despite them being in the same house as everyone else Olivia focused solely on her. They laughed, talked, and spent quality time together. It was what Nadia needed.

The next morning Olivia found Fitz in the kitchen. She knew something was wrong. They sat down for breakfast.

"Jake is harassing Chrissy using a third party. Some guys who owe him a favor or two. This time I need you to let me handle it, but I need you to call him and arrange a meeting for this afternoon."

"Okay, but baby why do you think he would agree to see me? We didn't exactly walk away on the best note."

"Because Jake is an arrogant asshole. If you call him and talk nice he will think you he wore you do down. Will you call him and let Huck & I handle the rest."

"No problem baby. I'll stay here with the girls, and you do your thing."

Fitz looked at her. He couldn't believe she was just leaving this for him without questioning him.

Olivia grabbed her phone and made the call to Jake. Like Fitz said, she played nice and the meeting was set.

She got off the phone, "You are my husband. I trust you. If you feel the need to handle this then I'm going to let you. When I ask you to trust me you do so I trust you."

Fitz smiled and kissed his wife. They got their day started. Fitz received a message from Huck. He was on his way to the house.

Later on in the day Fitz was sitting in his office. When they had their office built on their property they wanted to be able to see each other.

It wasn't cheap but they had decided on a glass partition. They could open it up and make it one big space, or close it for privacy.

Fitz was sitting in his office thinking about his family. It was the only way he wouldn't kill Jake when he came in. Huck was in his office.

A short time later Jake came in. He went to Olivia's office surprised to see that she was not there.

Fitz said, "She is not here. She is home taking care of our children."

Jake didn't know where the voice was coming from at first until he looked up and noticed Fitz looking at him from his office.

He went to the door, "She called me."

"She did because I asked her. I know you."

"You don't"

"Oh I do. You are one of those men who thinks he is God's gift to women despite the fact you treat them like shit. You think you got swag, when you only probably last a few minutes in the bedroom. I asked her to call you because I knew when she played nice you thought you had finally worn her down. Despite the fact you know she is married you have no problem disrespecting me."

"So is there where we have our pow wow?"

"Nope this is where you sit down and sign these papers now so Huck can take them over to Chrissy's lawyer, and she can be done with your dumb ass."

"Screw you Grant. You don't scare me."

Fitz jumped out of his chair. Jake tried to back up but he didn't realize that Huck was behind him.

Fitz grabbed Jake by the throat. He laughed as the color drained from his face. Fitz let him go and he dropped to the floor.

Fitz then put his foot on his throat, "See there is nothing but men in here. Well Huck & I are because we would never beat a woman, we wouldn't harass a woman because we can, and we sure as hell would never abandon our family. Even if my marriage fell apart I would never neglect my children. My wife gave you a fair warning. When Huck told me what you were doing I was of mine to ruin you. Make the calls and have them lock up your sorry ass. Then I thought about your family. It would only delay them receiving a settlement. You could hide more assets , and then claim bankruptcy when the business falls apart. So you are going to sign the settlement now or Huck is going to release this."

Huck began to play a video were Jake is being spanked. He was wearing a diaper. When Fitz saw it he could only laugh. Whatever floats his boat.

Jake looked up in horror, "How do I know that you won't release it?"

Fitz laughed, "You don't but I promise I won't if you leave Chrissy alone. Unlike you when I look at Chrissy I think of my wife and children. Embarrassing you means they go down with you, and you have put them through enough. In that packet is a document for you to terminate your parental rights. You only wanted kids for the purpose of your image. They deserve more than that, and down the road if Chrissy finds a real man she won't have to worry about contacting you if that man wants to adopt her children."

Jake nodded. Fitz moved his foot from his throat.

Jake sat down at the table and signed all of the documents.

Fitz stood up, "Here is a small piece of advice. Grow the hell up. If you want a woman like my wife you have to understand that her looks are on a small part of what makes up who she is. My wife is beautiful no doubt about it, but I fell in love with who she was on the inside. I know when I'm down she has my back. I know that she is smarter than me, and I love it. Despite how brilliant she is she never tears me down. I'm the man of the house, and being the man is not abut control Jake. It is about love and protection. I was never in danger of you hitting that, because you can't handle my wife. However, I'm a jealous man. I don't like to share certain things. My family is not to be messed with. If I ever see you in the streets and you look at my wife the wrong way, or you attempt to try to get back at her for taking this case on, or I hear you saying anything cross you are as good as dead. Huck will make sure that you are never found. Are we clear?"

"Crystal"

Jake stood up and turned to leave. Olivia was at the door. She was coming over to bring Fitz lunch. She had heard what he told Jake.

Jake looked at Olivia, "I'm sorry for disrespecting you and your marriage. I hope you can accept my apology."

"I can't because you don't mean it. My husband just put you in your place. The next time you try to apologize make sure your eyes and your mouth are in sync. Good-bye Mr. Ballard.

He walked out.

Olivia went over and hugged her husband. She sat his lunch down on his desk.

He smiled, "Thank you. You are too good to me."

"No thank you. For what?"

"What you said about me to Jake!"

"Well I was just telling the truth."

"I know but it felt good to hear it. I know that is how you feel, and you don't mind telling the world. I love that about you. So it feels good when I hear your love for all of me."

"Well in that case you are welcome."

"What time will you be done?"

"No more than a couple of hours."

"See you at home. Love you."

"Love you more Livvie."

Later on that evening the family was relaxing after dinner. Once the kids were tucked in the couple was headed for some adult time. Olivia's phone rang. She started to let it go to voicemail, but decided against it.

She answered it. The recording said, " This is the New York Correctional have a collect call from Jayden Pope. Do you accept the charges?"

Olivia had answered the call on speaker so she could get ready for bed. Fitz heard the recording. It stopped them dead in their tracks.

A/N-So I'm going to stop there. Some of you guessed what was wrong with Nadia. Her illness and treatment are real for those of you who are not familiar with diabetes.

Heads up. Next chapter is going to discuss a touchy topic. A little while ago I remember when Chris Rock posted pics of him being stopped by cops. He was stopped three times in less than two months. So for those of you who don't want to read my take on the matter, and how they handle it feel free to skip over. It will more than likely be the whole chapter.

That tape I did on Jake is real. I was watching a show on television and saw a man who really enjoyed being treated like a baby. Too funny.
