I'm so, so, sorry it's been so long since I've updated. School finally let out, but now I have to worry about marching band starting up soon, so it's going to be a while before the next update. Sorry!

ANNABETH POV

Bex and Liz's bodies slowly inched forward, with big, frightening grins on both of their faces. I retrieved my dagger from its sheath on my leg, and got in a fighting stance.

Bex swung first. I easily caught her wrist before she could punch me, and I put my dagger at her throat. The eidolon possessing her hissed at the sight of celestial bronze.

The eidolon starting screaming in Ancient Greek. Cammie, of course, couldn't understand it, but it was quite obvious what the message was. The eidolons had full control over Liz and Bex, and they weren't letting go any time soon.

"Olympus will perish! Surrender now, and your death will be quick! Mother Gaea only requires one girl to sacrifice!" The eidolon hissed at me in Ancient Greek while I tried to remember a way to remove it from Bex.

The other eidolon, the one possessing Liz, started hissing at me in Ancient Greek as well. "There is no stopping Mother Gaea! You will perish like all the others!"

"Annabeth? What are they saying?" Cammie asked me with fear in her voice. "And why are they possessing Bex and Liz?"

I turned to face Cammie, but that was a huge mistake. Bex's body jumped on me, pinning me to the ground. Even though I could beat Bex, it would be a whole lot harder with a demonic Ancient Greek entity that was trying to kill me to please my great-great-grandmother.

Bex's body began punching me, hitting with enough force that I was sure my whole body would be black and blue the next day, if I happened to survive. Fortunately, I could still use my dagger, so I slammed the hilt of the dagger into Bex's pressure point, knocking her out immediately.

Now, it was Liz's body's turn. Her body came at me with force and determination, so I did the exact same thing that I did with Bex. Liz fell to the floor, and I turned to Cammie triumphantly.

"They were saying some pretty nasty things, like how they wanted to sacrifice me to my great-great-grandmother."

"Are Bex and Liz going to be okay?" Cammie asked nervously, concerned for the well-being of her friends.

"They should be fine," I responded. "I hit them in their pressure points so they would be knocked out, not killed. It will buy us a few hours. We should get going, and plan our next move."

Cammie and I left the infirmary, and made our way back to our suite. I grabbed my laptop, and Cammie grabbed hers. Once I signed on, I noticed I had a new email, from Malcolm.

It read:

Annabeth-

There's a new lead from Jason. He thinks Percy is at the Roman camp, but he can't or won't tell us where it is exactly. He keeps mentioning a tunnel, and a valley. Any ideas?

Other than that, there are no other news. Leo is still working on his ship. He's slowly going crazy, and nobody has seen him clean and grease-free in quite a while.

I hope everything is going well at the school. See you at spring break.

Malcolm.

Hmm. A new lead? Maybe I'll find Percy after all.

I turned to tell Cammie about the news, but she had left the room. I shut down my computer and walked out in search for her.

I found her outside the infirmary, debating whether to turn the knob that opened the door or not.

"Don't do it!" I said urgently. She looked at me in surprise. "Liz and Bex, or their bodies, at least, are probably awake. They're best where they are."

"But what if they die?" Cammie asked me, with fear evident in her voice. "I can't deal with another death." There were definitely tears in her eyes when she said it. "Please, please promise me they'll be okay."

"Look, Cammie, I can try, but the last time a person got possessed by an eidolon, they disappeared. These are demonic creatures that no one has ever heard of, and nobody can defeat. I'm sorry, Cammie, I'm so very sorry. There may be nothing we can do for them. Do you understand me?"

Cammie wiped her eyes for a bit, then she ran out of sight. I was too tired to chase her.

CAMMIE POV

I couldn't believe my ears. Annabeth was telling me there was no solution? There was no way to save my friends from being possessed by demonic Greek entities?

Running away from the infirmary, I made a split second decision. I decided to go to my mother's office. Once I got there, however, there was a man in a wheelchair in there with her.

"Mom?"

The man in the wheelchair turned around. "You must be Cammie. I'm Annabeth's legal guardian." He had a soft, gentle voice, and I wanted to trust him immediately, which was very out of character for me.

My mom continued her conversation with him. "Annabeth is a very bright girl, but Percy's disappearance has made it difficult for her to learn. She must truly be focused on her studies if she wishes to continue.

Mr. Brunner nodded his head. "Annabeth will do better. There are new leads on Percy's disappearance, and hopefully that will help her focus more. Thank you for your concern."
He wheeled himself out, nodding his head to me. I turned to my mom. "Are you seriously going to expel Annabeth?"

Mom smiled sadly at me. "Annabeth is trying her best, but right now, she just isn't focusing enough. Her language final was abysmal, since she wasn't allowed to use her native tongue. But, if you can get her to focus, maybe she can stay."

I frowned. "Mom, I checked over her practice essays a million times before she took that final. It was absolutely perfect. Someone must have messed with her final grade."

Mom was livid. "Cameron, I didn't raise you like this. Our teachers are trustworthy as a spy can be."

"A spy isn't trustworthy, Mom. You of all people should have known that."

I ran out of the office, and back to my suite. I couldn't believe that Annabeth might be leaving. I'd be the only one left in my suite! Our class was small enough already.

Review please! Hopefully I can update one more time before summer ends.
