Don't own twilight!... SORRY I THOUGHT I PUBLISHED THIS LIKE A MONTH AGO AND IT WAS JUST SITTING THERE ON MY DESKTOP TAUNTING ME!
Ch.21 The Full Moon part. II
Bpov (wolf)
After I'm satisfied with my meal, I run towards the river side sniffing the ground like a bloodhound, searching the area for a familiar scent. Once I catch the scent of strawberries, I'm off. Bounding through the rocky cliff and fallen tree's until I reach a man-made clearing composed only of tree stumps. A part of me is enraged at the sight of such a violation of nature, but it's a passing thought when my eyes land on the two figures circling each other at the bottom.
I edge closer, observing as they lunge and bite at each other, never tearing fur or cutting deep enough to bleed. It isn't until they both fall down, barking and snarling that I make my presence noted by barking at them. They are called in to attention, growling lowly at one another before backing off and watching me.
"The moon has served greatness to us, we must show respect to its kindness." I say, walking away and sprinting to a run in a few seconds. I don't have to look behind me to see them running behind me, the connection of the pack runs greatly though my mind showing me flashes of whatever they are looking at.
The only sound in the forest is of our paws connecting with the muddy floor, snapping twigs under our feet and rustling leaves and bushes with our movements. It's not long until we reach the inclining trail up a mountain, we pick up speed rushing the mountain and with the strength of the moon we bolt up the mountain at an almost impossible angle, had it not been four our sheer strength and speed we wouldn't have been able to accomplish such a feat.
My hackles rised as we reached the peak of the mountain, the light from the full moon illuminated the vast forest beneath us, the energy of the different creatures of the night. Just then a flock of bats fly around us, Jade jumps up, crunching down on one and swallowing it in two bites. Ness huffs as she pushes past her to reach me.
"Its time, I can feel it." She says, hackles rising. We all turn our gases towards the moon above and wait only a few seconds for a cloud to uncover the white goddess above.
"NOW." And not a second after our howls echo through the forest, mingled in to a staccato that would chill anyone who heard it to the bone. For us on the other hand, it was a soothing song.
An anthem passed down through the bloodlines of our history in thank you of our mother moon, our goddess. The mixture of our different notes created a steady stream of noise that would echo through the entire forest. It was a tinkling song, very difficult to pinpoint just one howl from the other but it was the one thing that soothed the beasts. Sadly, the song wouldn't last all night…

The blistering heat woke me up some time in the afternoon, my body aching but feeling energized beyond belief. I felt like I was vibrating from the energy running through my body.
A groan from my side finally breaks me from my sleep. I roll over, lifting myself on shaky legs.
A huge open valley ran through the center of three great mountains, the grounds overgrown in plants, the peaks covered in snow. One thing seemed to stand out more than anything else in the dusted snow field. Sheep lay dead around every staggering wolf.
Puddles of frozen red blood lay around the tuffs of whool. It was enough to make me second guess if I could cough up some of the food I had ingested, "It's only ten sheep." I mumble, staggering down a little ways and rolling in the snow.
"Oh Godess I forgot how good it is to feel full." Moaned Ness from a little ways up.
Jade groaned rolling down the hill, laughing as she came tumbling down beside me.
"Where do you think we are?" I asked looking up at the clear sky.
Jade burped loudly, still laughing. "If I have to guess, we are north…east, maybe a three hour run to Forks." She says, pointing at a random part of the sky.
Orion's shined dully behind the sky light, visible just enough to have somewhat of a focal point.
"Oh yeah, definitely three hours." I groan rolling to lay on my stomach.
"Make it four, im taking a nap." Said Ness before surendering to sleep.
Laughing and full I fallowed Ness's lead, sinking back in to peaceful sleep.
Hours passed, the entire time filled with stories of our old journey's. Maybe one or two stories about the blurry events of last night.
"Then she just pounced! It was sick! I never saw a double take down so clean in ages, I swear. Bella is one clean hunter, doesn't get a speck of blood on her until it's time to rip in." say's Ness to Jade.
"Nonsense, Jade took down three sheep in a single leap! That was a nice trick, how you circled them in to a small bunch. I am trying that next time." I said laughing.
"Ugh, I smell leaches." Said Ness, sneezing and stopping to burying her nose in the dirt.
I lift my snout up, sniffing. Alice. I bark once and shift mid run hurrying to get to Alice. I almost trip on a log on the landing back on two feet but manage to keep my pace up. The excitement I feel only increases while I jump the small river and deliberately shake a few branches on my landing. I walk out the forest, grinning over my shoulder at Ness and Jade who are also back in human form.
"This conversation isn't done." I say to them jokingly before looking back and meeting the golden eyes I am so fond of.
"Alice." I breathe, smiling wider than I thought possible.
She doesn't even speak, leaping in to my arms and crushing me in to a hug in seconds. I hold her tightly around me, laughing. "Nice to see you too sweetheart,." I croak from her vice grip around my neck.
I burry my head in her neck, inhaling deeply at her scent. Lavender, vanilla and something sweet like honey suckle. "I'm guessing you missed me." I say with a grin fighting at my lips. Alice whacks at my shoulder, I wince a bit as I pull away.
No harm in telling her that I'm pretty human right now and that will definitely leave a bruise.
"Bella," she sighs, cupping my cheek in her cool palm. I relax in to the gesture, closing my eyes to press a kiss to the palm of her hand. An odd feeling settled low in my stomach; it churned and settled in seconds.
I open my eyes again, staring directly at those honeys colored eyes I adore so much. It was enough to pull my breath from my lungs and make me want to surrender any free will that I possess to her.
The idea of surrendering my free will to a vampire, a creature that strives over power, should frighten me to my core. Especially since free will is the only thing werewolves embrace, sure we have a structure and order but we are primordially free and content within our pack.
"A little warning next time will be amazing, think you can manage that?" she asks gently, eyes searching mine.
I smile, "That can be arranged." I breathe, kissing her cheek gently before turning at the sound of twigs snapping behind us.
"Welcome back." Alice says from beside me.
Ness and Jade ashen faces are revealed as they make their hesitant walk in to the backyard, eyeing the four story building and the woods around us as they make their way around to me.
Worry strikes me in seconds, I stiffen and search the tree line around us taking in a deep breath of air and meeting nothing but rotting bark and damp earth.
"Bella… we have bad news." Jade says gripping my shoulder, her eyes watering.
I furrow my eyebrows, "What is it?" I ask looking between the two of them, I have a feeling I know what they are going to say but it's the angry look on Ness face that gives me all the information I need.
"Bella, something went wrong last night... Michael and Dante were attacked by a group of vampires… Michael sacrificed himself so that Dante could kill the last few vampires left, he's dead." Jade says, lowering her head to face the ground.
A wave of cold poured threw my bones as the message was delivered to my slumbering wolf, a piercing howl rang in my ears as my knees gave in and a rush of power filled every muscle in my body. I clenched my jaw and closed my eyes tightly, covering them with my hands as a snarl ripped from my throat. My wolf was awake and not happy at all that I took such a decision without passing it through her first.
I didn't need to see myself to know how my eyes looked at this moment, a luminescent blue.
"Bella, are you ok?" Jade asks reaching to help me up but Ness seems to stop her.
"I'm sure she's ok, maybe just needs to breathe for a bit. Come on Jade, I think I smell Esme cooking something in the kitchen. If we are nice I think she will let us have a bite before supper." She says, drawing attention away from me and steering Jade away from me.
"I'm going for a walk." I say dismissively not looking back as I make my way just as hastily as I had made my entrance. I stop at the edge of the field, "Alice… would you walk with me please." I whisper quietly, keeping my eyes closed as I hear the rustling of fabric and her hand slips in to mine.
"I'm right here." She whispers, rubbing a hand over my arm.
Ness's mumbling voice gets lost between the shaking of branches and the bubbling of a stream.
It doesn't take very much effort to get to the peak of the mountain I took Alice to once, I shift back in to my human skin and find a conferrable corner to just sit on. I settle for a nice slanted peace of rock and soft dirt beneath it. Alice fallows my lead and sits beside me, quietly.
"Admittedly, I didn't think you would be this upset about Michael being killed… I always had the feeling you didn't like him much." She says, tracing she shape of my hand with the tip of her fingers.
I chance a glance at her and thankfully her eyes are casted to the sun just hidden behind white fluffy clouds. I close my eyes once more and grip her hand a little tighter.
I thought over my decision to have Michael killed and could not seem to find it within me to feel sorry for him, he was a threat and my job is to eliminate any threat no matter the cost. I know Jade is hurting, it won't take her long to figure out what happened once Dante is back. She has a knack for picking at one's mind.
I suppose killing comes easier to me than it does to vampires. I know how the Gods feel of me killing another of my kind, the reaction as realization caught my conscious brain and my slumbering wolf was enough to leave the sense of clear disapproval.
"Alice, I love you dearly. You are as much a part of my pack as any other member and I must admit I have not been entirely truthful to you about many things concerning my kind. It is not an excuse for the way I have behaved and as your mate I should treat you better than this. Godess, have I done a terrible job at being your mate." I say sadly, this realization bothers me many times more than having the death of Michael on my hands.
I took a deep breath, trying to relax every muscle in my body and began to meditate. It felt odd, doing this after years but I found it was time to reconnect to my wolf on a basis of all the miss communication we have been having lately. I was off center and was in big need of returning to balance.
"Because you won't tell me anything, Bella. You lock me out and I don't know what to do to get in." she sighs and finally I open my eyes to stare at her.
Her golden eyes are on my blue ones and by the gasp I can tell they are not the color she was expecting. "What in the world? Bella your eyes are-"
I cut her off with a finger over her lips. "I know. Alice I am going to tell you many things about my kind and if in any moment you feel unsafe or wish to leave I will not blame you for it. But I think it is time for me to be honest with you.." I take a deep breath.
Alice stares at me calculating, "No more secrets?" she questions, her eyes diving deeper in to my soul. She was begging me to be honest to her, wishing I could be this way with her forever. In that second I promised myself and to any god listening that I would never be the cause for that look ever again.
I hold her hand in my own, bringing them to my lips before starting my tale. "You remember the legend that started our kind? The one about the two brothers…." I say and Alice raises an eyebrow.
"Yeah, it's the origin story. The one that is supposed to forth shadow us as creatures of the night." She says and I smile a bit to myself.
"So you remember when I explained the three types of wolves? Lycian, Lycanthrope and Werewolf… here is where the truth starts. I lived a life before I ruled a kingdom, long before light had even crossed the vast villages of Europe. I was born in an area known as the Celtic Circle, you are familiar with it right?"
"I wasn't born a Isabella Van Wolf, I believe my original name was Isabella Swan. A very sick child to a highly recognized king in that area, when the apothecaries and monks could do no more for me, king Charlie of the Van Wolf clan came at my fathers wishes. He begged him for my life, to do anything to save his precious daughter and king Swan gave him his kingdom. The thing was that the only way Van Wolf could save me was to turn me… but that didn't work exactly how you expected. It seems the wolf bite that was supposed to change me did not mix well with my blood and Van Wolf in fear of losing the kingdom if I died, ordered I be fed with blood of an unchanged Lycan." I explain, wincing a bit.
"He tested it out on a few of his prisoners first, it seemed to work perfectly and the 'formula' was injected in to my vains, the result was something not even the great king was expecting. It seems that the first bite had been a success after all, it just hadn't taken because I wasn't of age. The mix of blood in my system caused a change no one had ever seen… or has seen to this day. In the light of the full moon I changed in to a Lycanthrope, blood thirsty and unable to control myself. It wasn't until I came of age – ten years later- that the wolf given to me at my original bite exposed itself and I was able to bond with this one, making it the dominant wolf in my body. But Lycanthropes are originally all Alpha's, which still causes problems when I lose my temper because the original aggressive part of me is controlled purely by instinct… and that is the Lycan's domain." I explain turning to change to look at Alice.
She seemed to be letting it all sink in, her brows furrowed slightly. "That's what you always mean when you say you are losing control? You don't mean your wolf you mean the Lycan?" she asks.
I nod my head. "My wolf is fairly passive, it bonds perfectly with my soul. Almost as much as you do." I say chancing a smile at her.
Alice gives me a bright smile, her eyes crinkling at my small indicator of love. "So I beat your wolf in a compatibility test?" she asks, a twinkle in her eyes.
I nod my head, "Wolves like to think they share their souls with their mates. You quite literally have my soul, its yours. I wouldn't want it otherwise." I say looking in to her eyes.
Alice lets out a slow breath, leaning in slowly. "You've had mine the second I laid eyes on you." She whispers, if I didn't have such perfect hearing I think I would have missed it.
"Alice…" I mumble, closing the gap between your lips. Any distance was too much at this point.
Our lips touch and it feels like a millennia has passed since the last time I touched her soft lips. I could never have enough of her, all of her. She was perfect, a gift of the gods and I was the lucky winner of their kindness. How could I had lived so long without her? How could I bear another second without her?
That was simple, I refused to live without her. I renounced my life for hers, she is my all. I was tired of being alone, she had me. I was hers and I was hers willingly. Alice is the one to break the kiss, "So, that means you are older than we originally thought?" she asks.
I smile against her lips, opening my eyes and pulling back. "More or less… the dates are still sketchy." I mumble.
Alice smiles wide before collecting herself "So, you are an impossibly old person with someone who is only a fraction of your age… this is like pedo territory." She says pushing herself back a bit.
I felt a flash of worry, it eased a bit when I saw the spark in her eyes. "Then you should probably go out with someone your own age… its gross that you like such an older woman. I could be your great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great-" Alice smacks me in the arm causing me to laugh. "Grandmother." I laugh, falling on to my back with chuckles.
Alice crawls over me and straddles my lap once more, "Yeah, it's so gross." She whispers before kissing me soundly. "I should call the cops and say I'm being taken advantage of." She mumbles kissing me once more.
I break the kiss, "Perhaps." I say pulling her back in to a searing kiss.
Yes, I would renounce my soul in a second for this woman to be happy.
