It was a little after 6 in the morning when Leon woke up.
He tiredly rubbed his face.
He hadn't been in the best of moods as of late, but he tried not to let it show during practice or around Sora. There wasn't much to be done about it; he simply resigned himself to waiting it out. With that, he got out of bed and did his morning routine of showering, brushing his long mane of hair, and then went down the hall towards the kitchen.
He paused by the couch, seeing Sora shift a little in her sleep. He brushed the hair out of her mouth. The light motion tickled her, making her crack an eye open.
"Wha ime izzi?"
He took a second to translate her sleepy question. "6:25 am."
She groaned and reluctantly brought herself into a sitting position. She sighed as she rubbed her eyes. What had been a movie night turned into a sleepover. Between practice and the wedding prep, she fell asleep pretty easily. She heard the couch squeak a little, making her turn her head. Leon had his forearms along the top of the couch as he regarded her.
"You could have taken the bed."
He had offered several times. Even when she had been sick last New Year's Eve he had offered. In under a month, she would be in the bed, plus him. She quickly turned her head, feeling her face flush. She cleared her throat in an attempt to get herself under control. Standing up, she eyed the couch and then him.
"And have the tall person take this couch? I don't think so."
"I've slept on it before."
"It probably wasn't a good sleep," she quipped, taking the borrowed blanket and folding it up. When he was still there, staring at her, she felt somewhat embarrassed. "Go get some coffee or something."
He lightly smirked and then went into the kitchen.
She frowned. What was that about? It wasn't like she said or did something strange – Her eyes widened and she looked down at the carpet. Her jean shorts were lying there, abandoned. She looked down at herself and then quickly covered her mouth as a scream threatened to come out.
She had been standing in front of him in her rainbow underwear.
She hastily put her shorts on and then ran for the restroom. She was in desperate need of cooling her flaming face.
Leon calmly ate his eggs, feeling Sora's burning glare.
"I didn't tell you to take off your shorts."
She bristled more, clenching the fork. She couldn't stand sleeping in jeans. But…"You could have told me."
His grey eyes slanted to her. "I could forget my pants if it will make you feel better."
"Wha – " her cheeks reddened at the idea, "No! How's that supposed to make my embarrassment better?! You wouldn't be embarrassed at all!"
He lightly shrugged. "Simply throwing out ideas."
"Really bad ones," she grumbled as she bit into her toast.
"I assure you, it's not."
She choked on her bread. She slapped the table a little as she hacked up the chunk into her napkin. He offered her glass of juice as he chuckled.
"I *cough cough* don't know what's worse, your arrogance or - *cough!*"
"Your curiosity?" he filled in for her.
"No!" She lightly smacked his arm. "Your willingness!"
"Hm." He leaned his face closer to hers. "Considering are nuptials are coming," he lightly ran his fingers along her arm, "I do not think either trait is terrible."
She snatched her arm away. "You need to go get some more sleep."
"Why would sleep tame my behavior?"
"Be-cause" she took a bite out of her orange slice, "You obviously think you're still dreaming."
He smirked and then opened his mouth to respond. Sora nearly sighed in relief when she heard the doorbell.
"You need to get that."
"It is not a requirement to answer the door."
"It's good manners."
He quirked a brow but stood up from his seat. As he came by her, he leaned down to her ear.
"We're not done."
She shivered, feeling him kiss her temple. He only kissed her there one other time. Back then, she had been in her Persephone costume and he in his Hades suit. He had wanted her to react to his outfit. She had given in, just a little.
She could feel something give again.
She grabbed his forearm, halting him from straightening up from bending down to her. He hadn't expected that, she could tell by looking at his very alert eyes.
"We're never done."
He could kiss her senseless right now. He could put her on the table and make her head spin with fever and her fingers curl into his shirt. He leaned down to do just that, seeing her eyes watch his every move. She wanted him to. He could see it.
Someone was now knocking on the door.
He sighed. He had momentarily forgotten. Instead, he tilted her chin, giving her a much shorter version of what he had wanted to do. He watched as her lashes fluttered a little, goading him to take in her bottom lip just a little. Lord, he wanted all of her. But now was not the time.
Not yet.
He broke off the kiss, swiftly walking over to the door. He was faced with a familiar tenant, 20 something year old Kim -or was it Kate?- with her jogging short shorts and her long chestnut hair in a ponytail.
"Hey Leon." She popped her gum, her tongue coming out to wipe it off of her lips. "Got some of your mail in my box."
He took it. "Thank you."
He closed the door. But she had stuck her foot between the door and the frame, so it only bounced open.
"Hey, you wanna get a cup of joe today?"
"No." He silently sighed. In the past, he would have just slammed the door closed. But nowadays, he found himself taking the more diplomatic route. Sora's influence, he was certain. "As I said before, I –"
Sora came up behind him suddenly, popping her head through the door. "Hi!"
The jogger blinked. "Uh, hi?"
"Are you a friend of Leon's?" Sora opened the door some more, making Leon step back a little. "I would love to get to know you, seeing as I'll be living here soon anyways."
"Oh? I didn't think we had any openings in the complex…"
"Eh?" Sora tilted her head and then laughed. "Oh no silly. Here with Leon."
"W-What?"
"I'm the fiancée" Sora chirruped, "I'm sure he's mentioned me before and now you can put a face to the title!"
"Um, maybe once but-"
"Oh!" Sora grabbed Leon's arm. "I forgot, we have an appointment at the caterers."
"Mm," Leon amusedly replied.
"Sorry, I guess meeting you will have to wait," Sora laughed. "Thanks again for the mail!"
She closed the door soundly. Leon grinned at her.
"I did not think you would do that."
Sora lightly sniffed. "Some girls need a little more forceful hint."
He shook his head as he looked back down at his mail. His grin waned. There was another envelope from them.
"…Leon?"
He smoothly moved on, flipping to the next envelope. "Remind me to bring out this side of you again."
"Shouldn't it be 'not to'?"
He looked at her with half lidded eyes. "That would be if I did not like what I saw."
"You got issues."
He put the mail down on the coffee table so he could grab her. She squealed a little, wiggling in his hold as he brought her down on the couch.
"You love me anyways," he purred, nipping her neck.
