Quinn and Severus hastened to Minerva's room, the valium drip had been administered and Minerva was lying in bed with her eyes closed.
"Severus, do you know if Minerva has a history of convulsions?" Quinn asked.
"Well I've only witnessed one other, it happened after she was hit with a misfired spell. The seizure only lasted a few seconds." Severus said softly.
"Did you notice anything different this time, different from the last time?"
"Last time she was in the air with wings sprouting from her back but the shaking was the same."
"If you don't mind, could you tell me what you and Minerva were talking about before the seizure?"
"I offered my home to her." Severus said quietly. His gaze directed towards Minerva's still body.
"How did she take that, did she seem stressed at all?"
"No, she didn't seem stressed. On the contrary , she seemed pretty relaxed."
"Relaxed is good, especially for someone in her condition ." Quinn assured.
"Do you have any ideas about what caused the convulsions? Severus asked.
"Well I won't know for sure until I take some blood, given what happened last night, I figure I had better screen for poisons. Then I'll order an EEG.
"How does the EEG work?" Severus asked, having never heard of such a thing.
"It's simple, I'll be putting probes on her head to measure her brain waves and looking for abnormalities in her brain waves. Quinn answered.
"Alright, I'm not sure how Minerva will take to having probes stuck to her hair but I have no objections." Severus said.
Quinn walked over to a drawer and removed a needle and syringe he found an appropriate vein in Minerva's arm and poked the needle through her skin.
" I Don't suppose you could have woke me before you did that." Minerva stated, raising a delicate eyebrow.
"Sorry, Minerva I'm just taking some blood so we can find out what caused your seizure." Quinn said.
"I had a seizure? " Minerva asked confusedly.
"Yes, but it's okay that you don't remember. It is fairly common for people who have seizures not to remember. We've put you on a valium drip, to prevent another seizure. I'm warning you now, It may make you sleepy.
"Where is Hermione?" Minerva asked.
"Minerva, you sent her to collect her children." Severus said.
"Alright." Minerva replied faintly.
Although she would never admit it, Minerva was confused and more than a little frightened and she also dearly missed Hermione's presence.
"Minerva, are you sure you are still feeling well enough to meet the children?" Quinn asked.
"Of course."
Quinn merely nodded, as if to say 'okay, if you say so'
Hermione walked in to her home and set her purse down and walked down the hall to the children's playroom. Hermione had to smile as she heard the sound of laugher that filled her home .as she turned the corner she stood and watched her pajama clad son 's sitting in the floor with their 'Aunt Ginny'. They had started to build a small castle out of wood blocks.
Ginny turned and looked over toward the door and saw Hermione standing in the door way , watching .
" Hey, Munchkins, it looks like your mum has made it back in one piece .Why don't you go say hi ."
The twins stood and ran to hug there mum. "Hello my little angels are you having fun with 'Aunt Ginny'?"
Alexander hugged his mom and nodded his head . " Yes mummy ."
Xavier hugged his mum and went back to building his castle. Ginny just smiled and shook her head.
" Thank you Ginny for staying with the boys on such short notice."
Ginny smiled , " don't worry about it wasn't any trouble . They have been showing me how to build a castle with their blocks."
Hermione and Ginny watched the boys play for a few minutes before Hermione spoke, "Minerva wants to meet the boys today."
"What's the problem there?" Ginny asked.
"I'm not sure how to prepare them everyone they know, they've known since before they were born. Although if she's going to live here, she needs to meet them now, before she moves in."
"Hold up, are you saying you want McGonagall to live here? With you , Quinn and the boys?" Ginny asked, dumbfounded.
"Of course, Ginny. She has nowhere else to go." Hermione said.
"What about someone from the order? I could speak to Mum and Dad. Maybe they could put her up for a bit."
"No, Ginny, I'm giving Minerva a job she has to live here to do her job." Hermione said, forcefully .
"Okay, but how are you going to explain it to the boys when she's using magic for everything?" Ginny asked.
"Well, Xavier and Alexander are going to find out sometime that normal muggle households don't typically allow floo travel. I may as well come clean about the whole thing now. I was wrong to keep magic away from them for this long. I don't really care what Quinn says about it. I should get the boys ready, Minerva isn't one to be kept waiting."
"Come on boys, time to get dressed. We are going to see one of Mummy's friends." Hermione told them. They quickly abandoned their blocks and headed up the stairs, being closely followed by Hermione and Ginny.
"Okay , pick a hand. " Hermione said to Xavier, holding two different colored sweaters behind her back. In her left she held a dark red and in her right she held an emerald green.
Both the boys were dressed in jeans and white tee shirts Xavier quickly grabbed his mother's right arm.
"Green it is." Hermione said, pulling the green sweater over Xavier's head. "I love you." Hermione said, kneeling down to face him as she kissed the tip of his nose.
"Love you too, Mummy"
"You and your brother are going to be so good when we get to the hospital, aren't you?" Hermione asked, taking his hands.
"Yes." Xavier replied, withdrawing his hands and kissing his mother's cheek.
Then Hermione stood up and walked over to Alexander and pulled the red sweater over his head.
After both boys were dressed, Hermione led them downstairs and pulled out an old photo album out of the desk drawer.
She made herself comfortable on the sofa and the Alexander and Xavier sat on either side of her.
Hermione turned to the correct page and smiled, in the photo Minerva was standing at the platform of Hogsmede station waving to the student.
"This is my friend, her name is Minerva"
