CHRIS POV

She was awake. She was alive. She'd woken up about 10 minutes ago but Chris still hadn't moved a muscle. Everyone else fussed over her, making sure she was ok. He heard snippets of their worrying words. "Are you ok?" "What happened?" "You saw Kate?" "You're wound hasn't completely healed, you need to sit." "I'll get you water."

Another 10 minutes had passed but Chris still couldn't move. She was ok, she was going to be ok. Why didn't he listen to his brain when it told him to get up and make sure she really was ok?

It couldn't be real, this is some sick joke that Tyler must be playing on him. This is what he wants, he wants Chris to get his hopes up and believe she's still alive so that he can rip her away from him again.

Someone finally noticed that Chris was still in his spot on the floor next to the couch.

"Let's give them a minute alone," said Quinn as she pulled Nick away.

Michael and Gabriel followed outside and shut the door. Chris still didn't move.

"Chris? Chris are you alright?" Becca whispered.

He still didn't move, she wasn't really sitting behind him, he was only imagining her voice in his head.

He heard her stand walk toward him. She sat back down in front of him, her hand placed on her back where the knife had gone in.

"You're really here," he managed to breathe out.

He finally looked up and saw her. Her hair was a mess, she was pale and she really could use some sleep, but she still looked beautiful.

Becca gave him a small smile, "yeah, I'm here,"

Chris pulled her into his arms, trying to be mindful of her back. She winced slightly but threw her arms around him as tight as he thought she could manage at the moment. They sat like this for a long time before Chris pulled back and kissed her. It was a short kiss, but it reassured him that she really was there and she wasn't going anywhere.

"How are you here? What happened?"

Becca told him about Kate, and something about Ruler's.

"Becca I'm so sorry, I promised that I wouldn't let them hurt you and they did. I didn't protect you like I should have- "

"Chris stop, it wasn't your fault, and I'm ok. I'm still here and I'm not leaving you ever again ok?"

"You better not," he told her with a smirk.

She smiled back and kissed him again, deeper this time. When they finally broke apart Chris asked to see Becca's back. The cut was still there but it had stopped bleeding. Chris got a cup of water and took her shirt off so he didn't get it wet. He used the water to heal her back completely.

"You really need to teach me that," said Becca in awe.

"I will, promise," he replied.

Becca reached for her shirt back from him but he pulled it away.

"Hey," she said as she reached for it again.

He pulled away again and stood.

"Give it back," she said playfully as she chased him around the room.

"What will you give me for it," he replied.

Chris walked backwards away from her until he walked into one of the beds. Becca pushed him back so he was lying and straddled him. She leaned in close until their lips were nearly touching and while distracting him, snatched the shirt from his hands and ran to the other side of the room.

Chris leant up on his elbows and said "You're evil you know that,"

"I know," she replied

Come on, you should get some sleep. She crawled back into his arms and lay her head on his chest.

Chris gave her a kiss on the head, "I love you," he told her.

"I love you too," she replied.

Then they both fell into a well deserved sleep.
