Hey everyone! A thousand apologies on this late update, I've been really busy with a ton of stuff! The good news is that I actually enjoyed the stuff I was doing! :D But it is unfair to you guys so I'm trying to write more at a faster pace, rest assured :3
This update is dedicated to Orenji Splash and his OC: Arylide! He came up with the idea of a character and I worked her into the story, which I think turned out quite great! I also want to thank him for making the new art for the story! It was hand-drawn from scratch by him, and I absolutely love it. Thanks a ton man, you're awesome! X3
I hope all of you enjoy the chapter and forgive me for my lack of updates :/ thanks for sticking with it, and we absolutely shattered the review goal! The story has over 7500 views and 91 reviews to date, and that just blows me away. Thank you all so very much for making this so special :) Stay chill everyone, and take care.
-Shade
p.s. I'm awfully sorry, but my usual bolded words and underlines won't be on this chapter cause the doc didn't save it and I want to get this up. It'll be back to normal next chapter though!
Shade's POV
"Ugh..." I groaned. The sunlight was far too harsh for me on regular days; this was even worse.
Plus these sheets are itchy as hell. Wait a second...sheets? Where am I?
I snapped my eyes open, scanning for any signs of danger or enemies. But there was neither of those here. But where was 'here'?
A loud yawn exploded from beside me. I turned around as was greeted by two black orbs glinting in the sunlight.
"Good morning Shade." Shine purred, licking my cheek affectionately. I grinned and returned the gesture, then examined the room we were in more closely.
"Shine...do you know where we are?"
She cocked an eyebrow curiously and gave me a confused look. "Uh, we're at the inn? Don't you remember what happened last night?"
I rubbed my forehead. "No, not at all. I must have been too worn out from that 'event' yesterday..."
She tapped her nose to mine. "Thank you for that, by the way. I don't want to even think about what that monster would have done to me if you didn't show up."
"You don't need to worry about that monster, you should be more worried about this monster." I said smugly, earning a playful smack from her.
"Ha ha, very funny. Now I'm starving, so where can we get some breakfast?" she asked. I stood up and stretched.
"Why don't worry my fair lady. I shall find and return with proper sustenance for our bodily needs." I mocked. A pillow hit me a few seconds later with a barrage of laughter.
"Alright! You do know how to make a lady happy don't you?" she admitted. I nodded and exited the room.
"Yo Shade! That was sick last night man! I had no idea you could do that!" a Hypno called from down the hallway.
"Uh..thanks? What did I do?" I asked, feeling slightly uneasy. I didn't recall seeing him last night, but the whole night seemed to be kind of hazy.
He roared in laughter. "What did you do?! The guy's a comedian and has crazy skills! See ya later man!"
Ok what the hell? What did I do last night?! And why don't I remember it?
I shook my head and entered the breakfast buffet, where numerous Pokémon were sitting down and enjoying all types of Berries, Pokéblocks and Poffins. They all turned around and waved at me as I walked by.
A paw suddenly tapped against my chest lightly. I looked up and saw a female Lopunny blocking my path. She bent down and whispered into my ear.
"That was so much fun last night. If you ever want to meet up I live on the land down the road with Team Jackpot. Come around some time, you sexy stud." she winked, then walked away. I was rooted to the floor.
What. The. Actual. Fuck. Happened. Last. Night.
As I was waiting for my turn in line, a blue and black figure darted out of the door. I smiled and exited the line, then snuck after the shape that was indeed moving quite fast. I already knew who it was.
But he didn't know I was trailing him.
Arc's POV
Stupid fucking sun. Why does it have to be so damn bright?
I groaned as I hoisted myself out of the small bed and onto the cold hardwood floors. My head was buzzing slightly, probably from the crazy night we had. I smiled as I remembered how it all went down.
/Flashback/
"Yo Shade! What took you and Shine so long? You freaked us the fuck out man!"
Shade chuckled. "We had some...business...to attend to. Let's just say that it was well worth the trip." and he nuzzled Shine warmly, who looked at me and winked.
"Ok! Too much information! So you two are a couple now?"
"I do believe we are, aren't we?" he asked Shine, who nodded happily.
Jolt walked up as he finished. "Jeez, leave the two in a forest alone and the next thing you know they're mates!" he exclaimed.
"I'm just playing. Congratulations! Are we expecting any little ones in the near future?" he teased, jerking his head towards Shine's stomach. Shine smiled and playfully slapped him, but Shade had gone silent.
"W-What? N-No...I don't think I'm ready for kids now! So stop asking!" he blurted, leaving us smiling. Shade was a tough guy, but he could be a total pushover at times. It was nice to see him feeble at times to remind us that he was like us.
"Oh. Looks like I'm second in line for this conversation. I'll leave that to you two. BUT COME ON! Get excited! You two are in a relationship! And we're an Exploration Team! Let's go celebrate or some shit! We have a whole night to party away!" he yelped, dragging us into the Swanna House; which was also the hotel we happened to be staying at.
/End Flashback/
We had talked and had a great time throughout the night, and Shade impressed everyone with some moves. As it happened, his high level and skills allowed him to really let loose on the floor. Although something was weird. He didn't seem like himself. He was really social and interacting with everyone like it was no problem. But that was probably just me and my exhausted mind.
As I stood up and stretched, the Vulpix from yesterday flashed into my head.
What was her name? Ah that's right...Arylide. Arceus, she was amazing! How she ended up with a prick like Kal is beyond me, although Shine did say that she liked me. Women, thinking that they know everything. Kind of annoying at times...
I rubbed my eyes and threw the curtains open, wincing at the sudden burst of light. The day looked perfect; a great day to start a new adventure with new friends.
Lets see, we gotta get our team sorted out, then we do quests? That seems kinda boring, although there has to be more to it than that.
I lazily dragged a paw through my fur and smiled. Even if that was all there was, this was a million times better than the smoggy city. And Kal...
"Well speak of the devil..." I muttered as I saw a black and red Pokémon exit the front door. It was Kal. And Arylide was with him.
"That's strange. They're new here too, so why are they walking away without their team?"
My stomach jumped. Something wasn't right and I knew it. My muscles flexed as I watched them disappear around a building. Arylide seemed fine, but Kal's aura was different. There was one powerful emotion showing through, one that was all too easy to recognize.
Contempt.
I turned my options over in my head. Follow them and see what was going on or leave it alone and stay with my new team. The second choice was definitely appealing, but Kal's aura was still pulsing with malevolent hatred. I had to do something.
My feet pounded across the floor and I threw open the door, slamming into a red Pokémon in the process.
"Whoa. What's the hurry, shrimp?" a dark voice asked. I looked up and recognized the ridiculous mohawk that all Scrafty have.
"Out of my way, loser. I have stuff to do." I growled. He stepped aside politely but grabbed my wrist as I walked by.
Two pinpricks of black stared at me. "So do we...so do we." and then he let go. His lizard-like body waddled away slowly, leaving me alone in the hallway with a confused look plastered onto my face.
Creep. What was his deal?
I shook the notion out of my head and ran down the stairs as fast as I could. The intoxicating smells of breakfast wafted into my nose, causing me to pause briefly outside of the lobby. Lucky I did too, because Shade was down there as well. He seemed to be talking to the Lopunny from last night, which in turn drew a small smile to my lips. She had acted so high and mighty but he had shot her down faster than we had all thought possible.
Kal.
I jolted back into reality and sprinted out of the door. The two were moving fast when I last saw them so they may have gotten quite far. I grunted in annoyance and picked up my speed, using my Aura Sight to search for them in the vast expanses of land. My eyes snapped back open and I continued down the winding roads, hoping to pick up on a sign or a location. I was still running when a black wall materialized directly in front of me.
It was Shade.
Completely shocked by this, I didn't even have the time to stop. Instead I rammed directly into Shade, who flew back along with me and skidded to a stop after a few seconds. It took me another short period of time to see that he hadn't even fallen over.
"Whoa there kid. What's the rush?" he asked, licking his messy coat. I smiled sheepishly and stood up, following his lead and brushing my fur to get rid of the dirt.
"N-Nothing! I'm just out for a run y'know? Beautiful day!" I stammered, cursing myself for being so tongue-tied. At this rate he was sure to suspect something.
I was right. "A run. Look Arc, I'm not an idiot. Just tell me what you're up to so I can accept that I'm not wanted and leave."
My eyes widened. "What? Shade, you're wanted, I-I just need to...what's so funny?"
Shade had started snickering and he looked at me in amazement. "Kid, I'm just joking! Now I know that something is wrong if you started caring about me suddenly." he winked.
I swore under my breath. Damn this stupid crush! I knew it would just get me in trouble!
"You absolute prick...ah fine. Just don't tell anyone else, okay?" I requested, which in turn made Shade narrow his eyes. He nodded anyways.
I drew a deep breath. "Ok. Well...there's this Pokémon and-" I was stopped by a slight sh from Shade's mouth. His ears perked up and swiveled very slowly to the right before stopping and twitching slightly.
He smiled. "Say no more. I don't care who it is or why, but you go and get her. Or him. Either way, love doesn't sit around and wait. I had to learn that the hard way, and I almost lost my love in the process. Just stay safe, ok man? She's traveling along the path towards...Desolate Canyon with someone else. Just follow the signs and you'll be fine."
I looked at him in awe and opened my mouth to speak, but he stepped towards me and placed a paw on my shoulder.
"I know, I know. Love is tough and hard and quite honestly...it sucks. But just look at me. I literally did everything wrong with Shine, and I do mean everything! Yet somehow we ended up together. If you really love her, or him, then there's no stopping you. Good luck!" he smirked, then started to walk away.
"W-WAIT! I'M NOT GAY!" I cried after him. He reared his head back in laughter and stared at me.
"Dude, chill out! I just like to mess with you. Oh by the way, a quick question for you. What the hell did I do last night?!" he called. I shot him a curious look and laughed.
"Dude, you fucking owned last night! I seriously didn't expect you to be a party animal...but I've come to be amazed by what you can do! Although your show-off personality was a bit much, you were a ton of fun!"
He looked at me in utter shock and feverishly slapped a smile onto his face. "Y-Yeah...I'll work on that! Yeah..." and he walked away.
In my haste to run after Kal and Arylide I didn't notice a small whisper from behind me, but if I had, the sentence might have stopped me in my tracks.
"Yeah. I just wish I was there to see myself."
Arc's POV
"Damn! These two are really coming out into the sticks aren't they?" I muttered. Kal and Arylide had seemed to have run miles, and although I was having no trouble keeping pace, the route they had taken seemed to be the hardest one as well.
"Leave it to Kal to be an idiot and choose the worst route possible…what a prick. Wait, where the hell did they go?!"
I stopped and scanned the area. I had lost sight of them.
"Ah damnit! Wait, maybe if I… "I thought aloud and closed my eyes, taking a few deep breaths as I did so. My Aura Sense snapped on and two pinpricks of red showed up in the dark environment. Their source came from down the canyon.
"Did they fall? Why would they go down there? The thing leads to a…dead…end. Oh no." I whispered and I sped towards the walls. Sure enough, Kal was easily visible as he walked with Arylide, who seemed to be unaware that the path was going to end.
"Calm down. J-Just calm down. Maybe he has a surprise for her there. Or maybe…maybe he…no. He knows what he's going to do." I stepped towards the edge of the cavern and gently slid down the side, careful not to make any sudden noises.
Their voices bounced off of the walls around me as I snuck after them.
"…no, it's right here…Kal, this is…tell me…what are you…no, he's not…tell me…why are you…Arc is…"
Arc is? Why am I in their conversation? I guess now is as good of a time as any to step in...
"I'm what?" I asked, making Kal's head whip around in an instant.
"What the- did you FOLLOW us? Go away you freak!" He hissed. Arylide's eyes went wide behind him.
"Kal, I get that he's your best friend but that seemed kind of harsh. Do you guys all talk like that to each other?" She asked, directing the question towards me.
I narrowed my eyes. "Kal is not my best friend. He isn't even a friend, he's more like a bully to me. And I don't think you know who he really is."
Her face shifted a bit. She looked perplexed now instead of shocked.
"W-What? You told me you guys were close though! Why would you lie?" She asked. Kal shifted his jaw for a few seconds trying to find an excuse.
He glared at me. "This kid? He's trash, a useless speck in the world. No one will or has missed him, so you shouldn't either. Got it?" He growled towards her. He smirked at me and then went to walk away with Arylide.
She backed away "No, get your paws off of me! You lied to me, tricked me, plus you hurt this Pokémon! That's despicable, and I never want to see you again."
Kal bared his teeth at her. "Listen, you're mine now! You have to do what I say, that's just how it works!"
She chuckled. "All of you men are the same…I belong to ME. If you think that you own me, then this whole relationship was a complete sham. Just go now while you still have some dignity." She sighed. I felt bad for her. The Pokémon she thought that she loved turned out to be fake. The real Kal had finally emerged.
Kal's jaw dropped. He had obviously never been turned away like this before, and my stomach fell through the ground. I was the reason this had happened, and there was no way that he didn't know that.
I was right. "You...this is all YOUR FAULT!" he roared, slamming his paw into the ground and staring me down. "You useless, idiotic, inbred…what were you thinking?!"
I smiled. "Look Kal, I don't mind you telling me off. I don't even mind you mindlessly torturing me day after day, because I KNOW that you're a slack-jawed idiot. But this is slightly different, you see, because you tricked Arylide into thinking you were something that you aren't. Maybe next time you should just stick to what you're good at, okay?"
Surprisingly, he grinned back. "Oh I plan to stay doing what I'm good at. In fact, I don't think you even know WHY I'm in the Exploration Area, do you?"
I shook my head slowly. What is he talking about? Didn't he come here to do the same thing I did? Or was it something else….
He reared back and laughed loudly. "Arc, do you even know what the Team I'm a part of does?! Our team only takes the deadliest requests that no one else wants, including hit jobs."
I didn't believe him. "What, you kill Pokémon? Oh please, you couldn't hit an ocean with Kyogre!"
He frowned. "Really? Well, try telling that to our team. They may have something else to say about that."
I looked at Arylide in confusion. "Wait, OUR team? Arylide, are you part of that team too?"
She shifted her paws uncomfortably. "Y-yeah, but I only joined so I could be with Kal. I was never allowed on any jobs."
I set my gaze back to Kal again. "Hold on, why are you telling me this? It seems like these are secrets that you wouldn't want to just let go so easily. I know that you aren't that dumb, so what gives?"
Kal smirked. "I was hoping that you would ask that. I don't plan on letting you leave here, Arc. Do you really think I would just let you go after you destroy my relationship and shame me like that? I don't think so."
"So you plan to just kill me here and leave me to rot? Seems like a pretty half-assed plan. For starters, there's no guarantee that you'll win. I've never fought back against you before, so you may be a bit surprised when I do. The second mistake is your beautiful ex-girlfriend right there. What happen if you do kill me? You won't kill her too just to protect your name." I chuckled.
He looked at me plainly. "Yeah, I would. In fact, let's get that one out of the way right now."
What? He can't mean that he'll kill her right now, does he?
He moved remarkably fast. One second he was standing still and talking to me, and the next he had Arylide in his jaws. She gasped and tried to squirm away, but he had her locked in his grip.
"Wait! Fight me first! If I lose, then you can kill both of us and your secret stays safe. But if I win, then you die. Sound fair?" I blurted. He smiled with a mouthful of Vulpix.
"Yeah, that seems doable. Although we both know that I'm going to win." He chucked. He whipped his head back, throwing Arylide into the canyon wall. She hit the incline with a sickening thud.
"Ready, freak?" he smirked. I nodded shakily and got into my fighting stance.
Damn, I wish I was like Shade! Last night he told us all about his fights and Shine confirmed how amazing he is. I would be able to win easily if I had his skills...
I hadn't been in a fight for a long time. Even so, the fighting stance that nearly all Riolu and Lucario took easily found it's way to my limbs.
I took a deep breath and calmed my nerves. Even though Kal was a much higher level than I was, I still felt somewhat confident in my abilities.
Kal smiled and paced towards me. I moved back with every step he took forward, trying to keep my distance. His feet moved slowly, like he had done this before. My head spin as I realized that he probably had.
"What's the matter? Make a move, bitch." he hissed. I bit my lip in anticipation. I knew that he was trying to bait me in, he had done it so many times before.
I knew that I had one thing on him. My speed was much, much higher than his, plus I could sense his moves and location. His attack, defense, and health were all so much higher than mine. I may have had the type advantage as well, but that wouldn't be enough to take him down.
He stopped and stared at me in amusement. "Fine, I guess it's up to me." He chortled.
Then he attacked. Out of nowhere, a Fire Fang appeared from in front of me. I ducked out of the way, but he was already charging up another attack. His Bite hit me square in the left arm, nearly making me cry out in pain. I recovered as fast as I could and jumped away, shielding my bleeding arm in the process.
Before I hit the ground, I had been planning my next move. His speed was much higher than I had thought, but I was still faster if I could stay on my game. A Force Palm materialized in my hand and I spun around rapidly, connecting with Kal's ribs as he lunged towards me for another attack.
"GAH!" he roared, hopping back and panting heavily. The type difference must have done more than I had originally planned as well. Wasting no time, I whipped towards him and slammed into his jaw with a Double Kick, then slid back and bombarded him with Mach Punches. His HP was dropping rapidly and the power consumed me.
I got cocky and tried to do a roundhouse kick to his side, but he saw my error. In a second he grabbed my leg and launched me into the air. I executed a backflip but landed awkwardly, my leg twisting underneath me.
"Ow…" I groaned, poking the tender muscle. It was easily sprained, possibly torn. I would have to beat him without my speed now.
He launched towards me and I spun around, gently twisting his arm in mine. As he moved past me, I jerked my arm up slowly and twisted my wrist as I did so. An old karate trick I had learned from watching a Sawk who was in the lab with me. It worked perfectly, and Kal slammed into the ground at a frightening speed. The rock cracked slightly and the breath exited his lungs with a low whoosh.
I stepped back and waited for his next move, but he wasn't getting back up.
"Come on, attack me again. We don't have all day." I groaned, but he still wasn't moving. After what seemed like an eternity he stood up and coughed, spitting blood out of his mouth.
"D-damn. That was a good move, Arc. Too bad I still have a few tricks up my sleeve…"
He circled me slowly, then started to growl in a weird voice. His voice sounded almost mechanical and gravelly. I lunged toward him, thinking that we was wounded or hurt badly, but I regretted it in instant I had moved forward.
He smirked and roared in triumph as flames erupted out of his maw. Flamethrower. At my distance, I didn't stand a chance from the blast and I knew it. I closed my eyes and braced for the intense blast, hoping for the life of me that I would be able to survive it.
The blow hit and I was knocked out by the intense heat. I don't know what happened while I was out, but I woke up a few minutes later, alive.
What the…why am I alive? I thought that Kal would've killed me while I was weak.
But he was busy elsewhere. He had Arylide in a painful-looking hold and he was looking quite angry. He seemed to be trying to choke her, but by doing so, he had left his back completely unguarded. Without even knowing what I was doing, I walked forward slowly and charged a Force Palm in my good arm. It consumed my hand and glowed brightly, itching to plunge itself deep into his body.
I walked up behind him and swiftly jabbed his side with as much hate as I could muster. His eyes went glassy and he gulped air as he tried to breathe. Arylide dropped from his grasp and he fell back, gasping like a Magikarp out of water.
"You deserve all of this, Kal. You're a pathetic, jumped up, ignorant snob that doesn't pay any attention to what you're doing. You tortured me every day and then you tricked a perfectly pure girl into believing you were a good person. And now, you WILL pay the price. I WIN Kal, and you are going to die." I said hungrily. The power rushing to my head was dizzying.
Finally, FINALLY I'm in control! Oh man, this is so sweet, he's under my thumb and I'm about to destroy him. I've waited so long for this…
I raised my paw again and jutted down. My blow was just about to connect to Kal's neck when a flash of black appeared out of the corner of my eye and shielded Kal. I had no time to stop, and the blow collided with the body in front of me.
"Ooh. You were really gonna do it, weren't you?" a familiar voice asked.
"GAH! GET OUT OF THE WAY! I NEED TO PUNISH HIM FOR WHAT HE DID TO ME AND ARYLIDE!" I roared, scrabbling at the intruder's pelt.
He forcibly grabbed my paws and pinned me down on the ground. I thrashed around and tried to escape, but a sharp slap stung across my cheek. I looked up in wonder and was met with two pools of electric blue light.
Shade was back.
I searched his eyes for a reason, but all I found was an overwhelming sense of disappointment. He sighed and let me stand up. He opened his mouth to say something, but shook his head and turned away instead.
I stared at him in shock as he went and lifted Kal onto his shoulder and began to walk away.
"Hey! What the hell are you doing man!? He's mine to kill!" I yelled, walking towards him angrily.
Shade stopped and spun around. He gently set Kal down on the ground, who was still wheezing in pain, and glared at me with a look of utter contempt.
"Yours to kill? You don't even know what that word means. To 'kill' someone isn't just winning the battle, you remove them entirely from the world. They don't exist anymore, Arc. No one should have the power to end another's life just for pure bloodlust. I thought that you were better than that." He hissed.
I shook in rage. "O-Oh yeah? Well what about YOU!" I retorted, then stood still. I instantly regretted it and knew that I had messed up big time.
Something new flashed in his eyes. For the first time I had met him, he looked shocked. The look was quickly replaced by anger.
He pressed his face up against mine and growled lowly. "I did what I had to do to LIVE. No more, no less. I regret it every single FUCKING day, and I don't need some ignorant kid telling me what I already know! I wouldn't be alive right now if I didn't do what I did. Were you put to death every single day by people who wanted to kill you just for a title?!"
I looked down at my paws and didn't reply.
"WELL?! Answer me!" He asked.
"N-no…but he did awful things to me! He deserved it?" I said, although I wasn't as sure anymore.
Shade sighed and motioned for me to give him my paw. I tentatively stuck my right paw towards him, and he gently pressed it onto my chest.
"Feel that? That's called life." He said softly. Then he walked me over to Kal and pressed my paw to the Houndour's chest. Although the pulse was slightly quicker, it was the same feeling.
He took my paw one last time and pressed it to his chest. Again, I felt the same heartbeat.
"Arc, you aren't a killer. It's just not who you are. I've been treated badly by literally everyone I've ever known except Shine, Jolt, and you. And even you and Jolt both hated me to begin with. But do I try to kill the both of you whenever I get the chance? No. You need to realize that everyone is all the same inside." He said quietly, then let go of my paw.
"But how did you kill then? I mean, you make it seem so impossible to do but you…y'know…" I mumbled.
Shade smiled weakly. "You know how you felt when you were about to kill Kal? That sense of absolute euphoria and adrenaline? Well my first time I had no one to stop me from killing, or the time after that. I had lost all trust in everyone and my ethics got fucked up. I turned that light off and couldn't turn it back on without help from others. It was never easy, but it was something that I had to do to keep breathing."
I looked at Kal and then back at Shade. All the hate and excitement was gone, I just felt like a kid who had been scolded by their parents.
"Thanks, Shade. You really set me straight there. So what's going to happen-"
"To Kal? Oh don't worry, I'm sure I can get him back to his team safely. Meanwhile, you need to go comfort your girlfriend over there. Sound good?" He smirked.
I blushed a bit and shuffled my feet. "But…what do I tell her? I looked like a total maniac when I was about to kill him! She's going to think that I'm a murderous freak…"
Shade cocked an eyebrow. "Uh…just take a look at Shine and me. I AM a murderous freak, so I'm walking proof that it can can happen. Just tell her the truth man. Have fun!" He winked, then picked Kal up again and sped away from the clearing.
I looked at Arylide, who was quietly watching me from where Kal dropped her. I smiled weakly and walked toward her slowly. She smiled back and motioned for me to come closer.
"Don't be shy! You were really brave back there, and I owe you my life for that. I don't know if Kal would have stopped or if he would have just kept going and killed me…oh Arceus. What a day." she frowned and massaged her neck.
"Anytime." I smiled. "But I was out of control and I'm really sorry that you had to see me like that. I don't even know what came over me. Good thing Shade was there…"
"Yeah, by the way, who is he? Is he like your dad or something? He seemed to be really smart and strong though. I've never seen an Umbreon with green rings and blue eyes either!" She remarked.
I laughed. "No, he's just my friend. But he's had a little bit of an interesting past and…ah you wouldn't believe me if I told you. He's a great guy though, albeit a bit intense at times."
She looked at me curiously. "I wouldn't believe you? Of course I would! You seem like a really honest person, plus I always trust cute guys that save my life." She said calmly.
D-did she just say 'cute'?! Or am I imagining that?
"Um.. Did you happen to say 'cute' or am I imagining that?" I stammered.
She looked at me happily. "You aren't mistaken. So tell me about him!"
I snapped out of my momentary heaven and tried to find words to describe what Shade told me about himself.
"It's hard to explain. How about I just take you back to my hotel room and you can ask him yourself? I'm sure he can explain it way better!" I offered.
She looked at me and stifled a laugh. My jaw dropped in horror as I realized that I had just asked her to come to my hotel room and how bad that sounded.
"N-NOT LIKE THAT!" I insisted and flushed a deep red. She sighed.
"Oh well, I was looking forward to that. But if you don't want it like that, I guess I can just talk to Shade and keep it all boring. Whatever you want Arc." She shrugged and started to walk away.
What. What is happening right now!?
"You know on second thought, I can't resist so here's something to get my mind off of it for now." She admitted and gave me a gentle kiss on the cheek. I blushed again and she grabbed my paw.
"Now let's go see Shade and hear all about that weird Umbreon's life! I want to meet some of your team too, I didn't get much time to socialize at our first little meet up." She exclaimed and began to walk back towards the town, dragging me behind her.
You know, I still don't get what's happening, but I think I'm okay with where this is going…
Oh gods…the reviews are humongous! Let's get crackin' ;D
Umbreon2098- Thanks for understanding man. I've had a lot of fun with DJ stuff, but I'm looking forward to getting back to writing :) It's great that you've stuck with me all of this time! :D
The Howling Behemoth- Haha it was long overdue wasn't it? It was about time Shade grew a pair and told her how he felt…
Shade: I wonder if I could stab a writer through the screen…maybe. Watch your back.
Writer: Well I'm going to die…
Voremistress- I'm glad you liked it! Shade is so badass to write about haha, although he does seem to have many personalities…Ooh I'm a favorite person? Life=complete :3
Orenji Splash- Aw thanks dude! You guys really deserve updates more often :) Shade is so fucking cool lol, and Shine is so chill that it makes me laugh lol. Especially when she just decides on baby names after about ten minutes of being together with Shade xD Shade is kind of strange with his other side, isn't he? Especially since he doesn't remember what he did the night before this chapter….c; To make it simple, yes, Shade's "other side" was present when he was a killer, but he still had some control over himself. More on that to come later! :D
Dusk5261- Yea Vendrid was a total douche. Shade put him in his place though c; Or did he make a mistake in letting him go? Hmm….
Bluedog197- Hehe Eeveelution couples are so cute aren't they? Thanks for the support! Cawcaw!
The Pokemon Melody- Yeah, dark and light go perfectly :3 Yin and Yang, Alpha and Omega, night and day, the list goes on! Vendrid is a dick….but Shade whipped his Zoroark ass! Make the blankets Eeveelution colors….and maybe they'll affect their final forms ;)
Spark- Thanks man! Hope you enjoyed this one as well!
Aurora- I like your original idea for your story! And yes, they're finally together! :D I was inactive for almost a month…ugh that makes me feel like shit now ;-; oh well. Thanks for the support and good luck on your FF!
Guest- Lol hi Penguin you dick xD Good job messing with me aha.
trans am king- Thanks! I hope the wait wasn't too long…eep. Hope you still follow the story and I didn't mess up too badly :s
SunriseSunset4- Right? I always felt that Darkrai was so misunderstood as a kid so I just made him how I thought he would be, and it was pretty damn fun to write xD Thanks for enjoying it as much as I did, because that's the ultimate goal here :3
Giratina is a Girl- Plot twwwwwwiiistttttt! It is pretty adorable huh? ;) Your name reminds me of the Nightcore song "God is a Girl"! Damn amazing song lol. Thanks for the review!
The Lightning Phoenix- Wow. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Having an honest review is always terrifying because it's just so much more…honest (lol)… Than praise. But I feel way better about my story and writing skills now that you've told me that. Thanks again, and I'll make you want to favorite this story by the end! ;D
13- Hmm, a distraction you say? I may have taken that idea into consideration my dear friend…see if you can find it in this chapter c;
RandomCritic- Ah I'm glad you like that. Most people have been a bit angry because I dragged their flirting out, but I wanted to show how much they mattered to each other and how they didn't want to rush it, especially Shade because he was so nervous. Thanks for the feedback and I hope you'll like this one!
Aurora- Yeah! Eevee Royals is a great series and so is it's writer c; (you know who you are lol).
OMG WARRIORS! You have no idea how much I love that series! My tom kitten is named Firepaw and his name is going to change as he gets older x3 What clan is your favorite? Mine is Windclan :)
Guest- UPDATE IS HERE! I hope you liked it! :D
That's all of em guys and gals! I know I'm not one to ask for reviews because it bothers me when authors do it, but if we could get to 100 reviews this chapter I would be elated! If y'all could make it happen then I would be forever indebted to you all. Thanks for the amazing support so far and I'll be uploading a chapter of TDE next! I've found that I'm way less stressed when my chapters aren't on a schedule, so I'll be uploading when I get in that writing mood from now on. Expect lots of future updates though! Lots of love to all and as always, take care :)
