A W.I.T.C.H Story

W.I.T.C.H Wedding 2 The Unlocked Memory

Moment in the Woods

Chapter 21

As the day progressed Will wasn't making anymore progress than from that which she started. It seems the further she wondered it only made things grow worse. She was no better off then when she started. Everything around her was like a maze. Her surroundings looked the same making it impossible to know where she had gone and where she had yet to go. She felt trapped, trapped in an endless void with no hope of escape. What was she to do? It had been just about twenty four hours since she ran off into the forest to search for the portal. Only to come up empty handed. There was no portal, only the vast woodlands. All around the tree branches looked similar to that of caged bars. As Will traveled further fear took over her body. This was hopeless, there was absolutely no hope of finding the portal or an escape. She would be trapped within the forest until she was discovered by someone or death greeted her with open arms.

Leaning against a tree hoping to calm her nerves Will decided to rest. She had to get ahold of herself before going any further. If fear took over she'd never leave the spot she was currently in. She'd be frozen in fear. That couldn't be allowed, she had to keep moving. Even if she was lost that wasn't going to stop her from proceeding forward. The cool breeze from the North gave her a sudden chill of fear and cold. Rubbing her arms to keep warm, Will continued going. She had no idea where she was going only that the further she went the farther from the castle. Phobos was no doubt searching for her. Worried sick about where she was, if she was safe. Much as Will would have loved to go back she knew she couldn't take the risk. Something in her heart told her those vision like dreams would lead her to the truth. Whatever Phobos was hiding, Will wo earn the truth eventually.

Her current situation told her otherwise. If she could just find a sort of clue to where she should go. Looking up at the sky dark clouds were moving in her general direction from the Northwest direction. Appears a storm was coming her way meaning Will had to seek out shelter or find a portal. Judging from the cold wind current blowing and the look at how dark the clouds were she didn't have much time. Quickly, Will darted off in another direction. The only thing on her mind now was getting somewhere safe from the storm. There was no telling how strong the storm would be. One cannot predict how powerful a storm is without the right equipment. Will dashed thru the woods, breathing heavily, sweat dripping down from her forehead. The familiar feeling of fear and adrenaline rushed through her body till pain made an appearence due to carelessly not looking where she was going and stumbled on the ground. A root of a tree was sticking out in front of Will causing her to plummet face first into the dirt. The wind began to pick up. Using what little strength she had left in her arms, Will pushed herself up off the ground. Spitting dirt out of her mouth in the process.

"This cannot get any worse." Unfortunately when she said that a raindrop hit her head. She touched her head just as another raindrop hit her. "Oh no, no not now! You got to be kidding me!"

It had started to rain; light at first but it became a downpour in seconds. Screaming to the heavens, cursing like a madman. Things had taken a turn for the worse. Will banged her fists in the dirt that had become mud the moment the downpour began. Mud splashed in different directions landing on the tree root, rocks and on Will. She gritted her teeth, clutched her fits and screamed.

"Are you fucking with me?! Do you hate me or something?!" She cried out to the sky. Screaming at no one in particular. "What did I do to deserve this?!"

Rain continued to pour, Will stayed where she was. Cold, furious, shaken up and depressed. Things had not turned out as she thought they would. Perhaps it was time to give up? There was little too no hope in finding a portal now. Maybe this whole thing was a mistake that Will didn't think through. It could be that the dreams she experienced were mind tricks placed on her. This whole thing was probably just all in her head. Meaning she ran off in the woods for no apparent reason. Clutching her fists tighter until they began to go red, Will screamed with fury until she began to cough. She coughed until it became difficult to breathe. She began taking horse-like coughs and breathes of air at the same time till she finally got control of her breathing. Hand on heart, breathing, Will took a moment to collect her thoughts on what just happened. How she nearly died from a coughing fit all because she was screaming out her emotions. Her anger got the best of her. This wasn't the kind of progress she'd hope on making.

"Who am I kidding? What was I thinking?" Will said to herself as she went on rambling. "I'm lost, cold, disgusting, upset, furious and confused. Why did I ever leave the castle? Why did I let those dreams get the better of me? They were only dreams after all. Just dreams...dreams that felt...real."

Sorry it's short but I'm in a pickle of writers block here. I have some idea on what is going to happen but perhaps my fellow readers might assist me, please? Just send some ideas on what should happen next and I'll pick the idea that fascinates me the most. I promise you this stories going to be better than the first.
