"What? When?"
"Oh I don't remember when, it was before I danced with David and after I had lost track. It was a short girl with brown hair wearing a pink dress."
"To be clear, you can't remember who you were dancing with, but you can remember the color of the dress of the girl I was dancing with." He said raising an eyebrow.
"Well yeah, you hadn't danced with me yet but were pulling kids out of the cradle. I thought we already established that I noticed."
"I think I remember the girl" Killian handed me the sandwich he had prepared for me. "Such a dazzling beauty I had never seen before. She outshone the very stars," saying this he dramatically clutched his hook and hand to his heart. "The voice of this angle was sweeter then that of the most dangerous siren on the sea. Her eyes… ouch what was that for." He rubbed his arm where I had summarily punched him.
"That was for making fun of the question. And stop being a baby, I know it didn't hurt you. Seriously this time."
"Seriously," he agreed as he moved the tray and took a seat next to me while stealing an orange slice and lounging on his side.
"So 15 is an awkward age. The boys have finally noticed that girls are different and they've stopped laughing at fart jokes and as a boy you still think they are hilarious. This therefore means that although you like the girl with everything you in your puny being, you are too scared to talk to her. I noticed this one boy staring at the girl in the pink dress. They looked to be around 15 and since I still remember what it was like, I asked the girl for a dance. She agreed and I made sure the boy could see us. Jealously finally kicked him in the middle of the second dance and the boy got the courage to cut in."
"Must have taken a lot of courage to cut in on the fearsome Captain Hook. Oh, the sandwich was fantastic, thanks." I added finishing the last piece.
"Aye, maybe, but a man who isn't ready to fight for what he wants deserves what he gets."
"And this is advice that you don't follow yourself?" I asked.
"Nay, love, I follow it" he took my hand in his a placed a kiss on my knuckles. "But I have never forced myself on any woman and if my presence isn't wanted, I will withdraw."
"And if it is wanted?" I prompted while leaning back to join him in his lounging.
"Is it?" He looked at me with that open questioning stare of his that usually scared me to pieces, but for some reason tonight didn't.
"It's wanted." I answered.
"May I kiss you again?" he asked me while stroking my cheek with his hand.
"Yes," and the word was barely out of my mouth, when his lips were on mine. No hesitancy this time, but pure with confidence that he wasn't going to be pushed away.
He pulled me closer and I heard the door lock sealing us away from the world.
