With this chapter he's creating the new Milky Way Galactic Alliance, before he and SG-1 start their mission and he meets with his new peers and starts minor training, before they begin the first portion of their mandate by protecting her on Naboo.
With this chapter their getting the treaty signed as things begin and he tells them about his life leading up to when they met, as Anakin gets his anxieties out to Padme and Obi-wan. And as their week on the ship begins they learn about their new skills and get used to living on a ship, while beginning their various training.
Chapter 20: Grey Jedi And A Jedi's Explanations
"Well then what do they mean by grey Jedi exactly, because that's always been a debate since the prequel was created and they think that you are one Master, but just meeting you I can see you are a very good man and very powerful Jedi master?" Daniel asked and he smiled as he answered him. "What that means is though they follow the rules, they look outside the box for solutions, my look alike had it correct, don't center on your anxieties."
"What I mean by that is you let your anxieties get in the way you'll lose concentration and it could get you hurt or worse. But though I'm considered Grey, because my opinions clash with the council, I'm not, my allegiance is to the order, and though I go against the council at times, I would never leave the Jedi. So with that in mind you're me and if it was my friend who went through what you just did a few weeks, let alone months when you came home ago when your powers returned and we're dealing with an emotional conflict."
"I'd see this in the same way, keep going and help where I could, but I would never use my connection to the living force to cross the line here. You've served with distinction these last ten years, but though you're considered grey you're not, you've shown that just because there's a line between you and you're walking it, at times you have to choose. Which if my guess is correct is why you were scared when they recycled you and turned you fully human eight months ago, but whatever caused the total recall caused this in you."
"That line must be crossed at times for the greater good, you're not powerless, it's a choice. And I know you're worried about what this means for us as I'm you in 22 years Daniel, but you don't have to be. So long as you can choose to make the right choice, what do you have planned for this Sith that did that to your brother: cold blooded execution or death by humiliation, that's a choice you have to make on your own?" he asked him softly then.
"I'm letting him be humiliated in public, before I remove him from his host. Which in this case, means..." Daniel trailed off and Yoda chuckled as he got the reference. "Not crossing the line that is Daniel, be a very good Jedi you will be, what you gone through thanks to this version of the force, that's not taking away the good in your heart Daniel. We make choices like this all this time, but show him who you are, before you reveal that truth to him."
"As a Jedi we have a line we walk, but when the situation calls for it, it does, cross it we must, but remember this: do not hurry the knowledge you seek, it takes its own time, you have much to see and much to experience. But time constraints not under we are till month five, plenty of time we have, my padawan you are, and with that train you to be the best I can, as long as patient you are." Yoda said smiling as he finished looking at him.
"Like Qui-Gon you are, but that is what makes you so special padawans. As to that, training in learning to think outsides the box we will, because just because the solution can not be seen, does not mean it's not there." he told him and he nodded as he relaxed then. "Was I what you were looking for in the latest apprentice master, I mean I faced the darkside and come out stronger, but the memories are still hard to live with."
"As a result like whatever Charlie told you and Master earlier. But in my eyes, it was I'm not living with the deaths trillions on my conscious just to protect my planet. I chose what Siri chose and though I never did what Kyp Durron, or Anakin's alter ego did, I've been held under scrutiny ever since, by my own team and several members of the base that were listening to the general who's been screwing with our mandate ever since. When my mandate is like yours, given to me by the chancellor." he told him and he nodded gently.
"Is that why ready to quit before, you were padawan, because mandate given to you by the chancellor is a very high honor and to treat you with such disrespect. And simply because following the orders given to you by him and his military intelligence team is going against the chancellor himself. In our eyes it's treason of the highest degree when what these members are working for is a group as dangerous as what wiped out the order."
"This senator on the other end of our communication line has the same look to him that our Sith does. That not follow his ideals we would and if takes it does to remove him from his office we would, we will, but has plans to destroy the order or hostile take over of the galactic republic. Than we go to the members who are fighting to ensure freedom and prosperity in the galaxy, and first Jedi of Milky Way Galactic republic you are."
"Than with those words, non force sensitive Sithlord he is, under arrest he will be when come to earth we do. Strongest young adult padawan I've had in 600 years of training Jedi I see you are to be, how much learn you did, if revered by the council and republic of you portion of the universal galactic senate?" he asked him and they smiled as he looked at him. "I passed every single test they gave me, but with multiple problems in the works."
"I'm trying to do this without need for a weapon, but our planet is young and my race came into being 30,000 years ago and we're in the time frame that we're helping planets like Ansion, and another like us that's in the early stages of evolution, and learning the elements. But we just gained the ability for star travel, and mastered the power of the elements and far more dangerous elements like the one that our gate is made out of."
"Omac and Lya said they learned nothing, but I did these last ten years, and it's because I followed what you had to teach us. And the lesson you just gave me now, and yet they want to rush it, and had I told them what I found, they'd cross that line and commit the atrocities that had Anakin treated with such disdain by his own daughter and her portion of the family. But with you all being teachers and far more powerful beings than we are."
"Maybe you could say what the sextet and I have been trying to these last seven years, before they and the research and development team destroy another planet and they kill anymore people. Because they don't realize that by following that black admiral, they're disobeying direct orders given to us by the chancellor and his true team." he said, pointing out Vidrine to him and he, Qui-Gon, Obi-wan and Sifo Dyas crossed their arms at that.
"That's one of two admirals that slaughtered trillions just to find ways to protect your planet, and the senator next to him is working for a group as dangerous as the empire in our future?" Padme asked him and he nodded to her. "And the sextet next to your chancellor, are they the ones acting like us in training and diplomacy at the moment?" Panaka asked and Jacob answered that. "Yeah they are captain, after the base tried to retrofit a death glider, but to put this gently why Charlie pulled me from our galaxy to yours."
"I happen to be one of them in the military team as a former member of his team, but I was beyond pissed at the time, because at the time our planet was still too young to for this advancement, it's too soon, they're too young and they could have killed themselves. I was speaking for the six of us, by that I mean the sextet surrounding the chancellor, and the group here at the table, because I gained the knowledge of my symbiote's species and have a few dozen millennia' worth of knowledge from his kind built up in my mind."
"Which as it turns out is as dangerous as looking at a Sith information device and it's as traumatizing as it gets for my other group's knowledge, my group uses its knowledge for self defense and helping people. But they use it the way the Sith do and that knowledge is dangerous. As to why I said this to my daughter and Jack, the knowledge of the Sith version of my race is like you're looking at Sith holocron and feeling the cold and evil pouring out of it. It starts over-riding the good in you till it destroys you in the way the sarcophagus does."
"When I saw the look in his eyes when a Jedi youngling, who had the knowledge of his parents downloaded into his head and he gave him the knowledge. I knew this scared him enough he was afraid of what would happen if he allowed the Sith version of my race to come forward." he said and they nodded as he answered him. "Dooku's friend saw what the knowledge of a holocron does to you and he framed him for that. But this is why you saw his look alike acting like that on the movie." Sifo Dyas said to him gently and he nodded.
"So though you're from Earth you've gained the knowledge to be like us at the time, and decided on training Daniel for us, before he went into the force. And you've been helping him with trying to control his abilities since he came back from the force and since his memories returned, correct?" Qui-Gon asked him and he nodded to answer him, as Jack felt his heart skip a beat then at the conversation then and his brother's honesty with the sextet.
"Alright then, if you wish us to say whatever it was that Daniel told his replacement, in our words, we will do so, because the rest of the council are not going to take this news any better than we will at the current moment. Adi and I trained our padawans to combine their strengths together and they get stronger, but evidently the duo haven't learned that lesson completely yet, if it's time for a refresher course." Qui-Gon said to him and he nodded to him gently.
"Master if you don't mind, I can act like an unofficial member of the council now, though I'm not on the council, I'm your representative starting now, in the force or no. I'm your voice when I go to earth to visit in between reports to the base and the chancellor now. Though I can do messages for Adi later as well." he added to Yoda and he nodded to the suggestion. "I grant you that honor Master Qui-Gon, you are now part of the council as our spokesman starting now." Yoda said to him and Daniel looked at him, to explain things.
"Jacob and I relate to each other, because he knows about my trip back in time to begin the origins of his symbiote. But humans on my planet are just not patient enough, and I'm a skilled diplomat, getting them to focus on the living force has become a challenge in the base at the time because of it. Though at the moment you're not going to like what my memories of these scenarios reflect when I show them to you, Mace, Shaak Tii, and Adi later."
"The six of you and Kit are the ones I relate to now, at a time line ago, before I met the guys and Sam, I felt like I didn't have a place on Earth and I was looking for my equals, but finding you, you're my equals. My life as a Jedi is what I was preparing for and at the moment the behavior is wearing thin on my patience with the fact they're listening to a group that are as close to a terrorists and a Sithlord as you can get at the moment."
"I mean, do they want to look like fools before doing anything about the attack in orbit, to quote your remark Ben, 'who's the more foolish, the fool, or the fools who follow him.', do they want to be the reason that over 900 tridecillion lives are slaughtered, or can't they handle being stuck in the mines for a week. While I'm working out how to them out of the damn mines at the time and ensure this technology is never used and the same goes for the damn sarcophagi." he said and then looked at the quartet with an icy look.
"Do they want to watch Teal'C die, because they're still furious at me for leaving them in the mines, when I did what I did for the greater good. Do they want to be accountable for the deaths of a people as diversitized as we are, just so they can get a god damn promotion. And now comes the real reason I'm so furious at my mate and Jack, I'd just graduated to using my vibro blade in live combat and they decide, without bothering to listen to me."
"To try an escape and again it's I've got to exercise my abilities a a diplomat, till I got to kill in cold blood. I've got the blood of the man I killed all over me and I feel like about to throw up at the time. And all because they're too damn reckless and stubborn to listen to me, and all because of the damn sarcophagi and the woman who caused it in the first place." he said and tried to control his stomach at the memory as Qui-Gon crouched in front of him.
Looking down at the floor and shaking, Daniel felt Qui-Gon rest his hand on his neck gently as he looked into his eyes then and he nodded to him. "That choice was one I never wanted make at the time, but do they care about my feelings, my opinions about the best way to do this, no they don't, and it's because of Shyla. I did that on purpose, I saved Shyla so I could get started on my mandate that day and it results in starting a chain reaction."
"The fact that all of this is because of the damn sarcophagi and Shyla, it's caused me to want to quit my job, Jack is too thick headed to listen to reason and do things my own way, and it's because he still blames me for leaving him down in the mines and Frank Cromwell. What's worse is that in seven years I've got to live with the fact I killed a man in cold blood for a first time, I was enacting the code of the samurai, and thanks to them."
"My word is worthless to my fellow warriors on that planet, I'm a Jedi, I was enacting a code that is very close to yours just to get us off that planet and like Dalaris, his recklessness lands me in a position I never wanted because he's too quick to pull the damn trigger." he said and hearing that Hamilton exchanged looks with the sextet and Matheson as he finished his remark, and knowing he needed emotional therapy for this while they were there.
"This is what made you quit, because these fools out you in a position you wouldn't have been in and you got to take a life out of cold blood and self defense. Well that's a black mark on their records, what else son, you've been reacting like me ever since you and I've been doing several missions together." Jacob asked him and he nodded. "Yes it is Jacob, but I have a question. Would you looked at the tablet and see this as more than just fluke, but a true leap in logic, when you see it, knowing it's not a coicindence that Teal'C is sick hours after he touches me."
"My over reaction in the clinic is because I just had another premonition, saw the little bugger go into Teal'C and realized what my symptoms really were. And before completely jumping to conclusions and listening to some quack who's never set foot through that gate and would you call Matheson, so you, Warner and Matheson, could work out an antidote to the little buggers?" he asked and he nodded to answer him and Sam, Jack and Janet all swallowed at that.
"I would, and indeed you're correct, why are you back to normal, and coincidentally hours after touching you is Teal'C sick, simple you got infected by a piece of technology that simulates all symptoms of schizophrenia. Before going to the Psychiatric department for a mental evaluation, I would call R&D and get Matheson and bring him in, ask him to bring a copy of the same device, check the device and trigger the walking time bomb, before creating an antidote, but insuring I don't get infected, and he, Sam and I check her blood and that prevents a fracture in a friendship." he said and the quartet all swallowed at the news, knowing they were screwed then.
"And while I'm on the subject, if I was in charge, and you told me that the trio were captured, I'd say it's only a few days, but do not, I repeat, do not, put the civilians at risk and just wait till you're finished with your mission. Just play along and show me the side effects, and once fully recovered, destroy the damn things and we rip the coordinates out of the navicomputer. You're a Jedi, the protection of the civilians comes first, be a Jedi." he added to him gently.
"So to you, Matheson, Bill, and General Jumper and the others, you'd order me to just wait two weeks till Pyrus, died, I pull the plug, get them out of there, and I start recovering after I told you and the members in the know about it. But to you, you would let me go back and finish the mission, without reservations, without the scrutiny and listen to me without second guessing every single thing I had to choose about regarding my missions from you and the president?"
"Like whether or not my leaps in logic are still under scrutiny, following the fact that the safety of the civilians came first, and I'm acting like the farmers, or slaves I'm working with. With my acting like a formerly non force sensitive Jedi, before, and my first duty is protecting the civilians." he asked as he tried to hold it in and Panaka, who, was sitting on the table, rested his hand on his shoulder and gave a squeeze gently as he answered him and they all nodded.
"Yes we would son, with the fact you pulled off one mission, we would ask you to think about the safety of the miners in the cave first, because there's thirty guards loaded with staff weapons, and that cave is highly unstable. After you recovered, you finish the mission, and we wouldn't think any less of it or you, and there's no need for a psyche evaluations." he told him and the quartet paled at the news, knowing they just committed the worse sin in friendship there was.
'Dear god, what did we do here, is it really that plain to see our flaws in this situation, simply because we stopped trusting him at the time back then.' The quartet all thought at the same time. "To answer that question yes it is you guys. Everyone here and the generals can see your fatal mistakes when I lay it out like I just did and when they're not following orders and are acting like a bunch of drones and storm troopers." he growled and the quartet paled further.
"You're treating the base like the empire started a dictatorship here you guys. In fact, you're acting by a key set of codes, and if whatever code was programmed into the clones is coming, it means that he's been turned into a drone and you're following that drone you fools, you're following the drone that ordered you to ignore your instincts and that nearly killed me by seeing the evidence. Charlie." he said and Vidrine was zapped into the room. "Guys restrain him." Jacob snapped and the quartet grabbed him and shoved him face first against the table.
"Let go of me or you're getting court martialed boys." Vidrine snapped and he smiled coldly as he removed a small sphere from his pocket and passed it to Jacob. "A Goa'uld communication globe, well, well, well, what do you know. So you four, you still think you should be following his orders, he's working for the trust, bring Mckenzie here as well." Sifo Dyas said and the psychiatrist paled as he arrived as they grabbed him and shoved his against the table face first.
Shoving his hand into his pocket, he yanked out another, and then set it on the table in view of the radio and Janet paled at what she'd done then. "There you see you're blindly following orders given to you by a bunch of drones working for a group like the Empire. And I'm the outcast, because I'm the single Jedi, you turned this into our version of the prequel. You're following a fake chancellor, and his version of the clones, and us rebels are fighting to survive."
"I'm a young Jedi and you nearly kill our galaxy's Return of the Jedi by nearly killing me. By following a brainwashed soldier, a brainwashed shrink. What, you think you got the power of attourney here over me, simply because I kept vital information from you is you're on the edge of wiping out ever it. You people just barely missed destroying not only us, but the entire galaxy, by turning me over to Mckenzie." he said with a growl and Sam swallowed at that.
"How exactly?" she asked and he looked at her sternly. "Shifu Sam, this was a precursor to Shifu, once Teal'C took the little bugger, they decided they were going to interrogate me, because the knowledge of the Suncrusher was buried in my mind. Do you realize what you could have done here Jack, Sam. And all because I chose to protect you by doing the only option necessary, you could have caused world war III, or a diversity war with every race we do business with."
"You any idea what he was drugging me with at the time, aside from the haleperidol Janet?" he asked her and she shook her head shaking. "It was Sodium pentathol, he was consistently sedating and drugging me with Sodium pentathol, and then doubling the damn dose on the haleperidol, so it's your damn faults on this that I suffered an over reaction to the drugs." he snapped and Jumper slammed his hand on the table as Jacob stood up at that
"Why didn't you do that captain, before doing anything, contact him, if he's suffered the first of what is to become many hallucinations and instead of going to the psychiatric department contact Jacob, and then contact me. And I'd bring a copy of what he's been screwing around with and we'd unlock it, before Teal'C gets infected and this nearly kills them both?" Matheson said to her sternly and she swallowed at that.
"I didn't consider it was because of that device he found, it was to far fetched, and Mckenzie's opinion sounded far more plausible." she said and watched as Jacob's eyes narrowed in anger as his eyes flashed at that. "So to you the plausible is far more plausible after everything you've seen, you still follow the ideals of man who never saw the dangers for himself, you treated Daniel for that addiction, though it was an addiction to plain old drugs at the time."
"But still there's more to this, regarding the dangers of alien technology and you know that better than anyone after encountering an alien scientist. And you know what alien technology does if it's abused. So what I'm looking at is you don't trust him anymore and you follow the thoughts of a group who the very opposite of everything the command represents simply because he's a civilian." He said and Landry's tone turned dangerous as he finished it then.
"That's what happened wasn't it, you didn't trust him anymore after the sarcophagus. Why, is it because he attacked you as well in the outburst, scaring you enough that you had to keep him under scrutiny, is that it. Is that what happened George despite his finishing the mission, his behavior was still enough you had to keep him under scrutiny and when he has his body hijacked you threw out the fact you knew better the Mckenzie did and condemned him to a fate worse then death, is that it George?" he said with a furious look and he sighed and nodded to him.
"Well I don't blame him for the amount of resentment for this, you've seen more than your fair share of alien happenings, my daughters gets hijacked by Jolinar, you didn't give up on her, and to you it's she's far more more valuable to you, as is Teal'C, than Daniel is. You know if we hadn't been friends for fifty years I'd end that friendship right now with you, because he's under the rules of the joint chiefs, and he already called us to ask about getting Langford involved."
"Though Daniel created the base, the program and the treaties, he's ten times more valuable than every military scientist, in the hardcore portion in the god damn program, in the military and you treat him like this. If Jumper chose me instead and I'd been working here, and I needed to run a double check, I'd call you instead of stabbing him in the back, simply because he was following orders given to him, by the sextet, Darrel and the president George."
"I don't blame him for wanting to quit, at this point if you treat him like this, these premonitions are not a god damned theory, they're were looking into without you holding judgement calls anf a scrutiny over him simply because you didn't see what he saw Major, George, fact of the matter is you learned to trust me and Teal'C after we joined like this! So a man who never stepped through the..., that bastard he's working for the NID, you idiots, I don't believe you."
"Do you realize what you could have done here, you could have handed this planet to the Goa'uld by your refusal to look outside the box and not consider all the alternatives. That bastard was trying to get Daniel out of here, so he could start destroying SG-1 piece by piece and with that fact in mind here, I don't blame him for giving up two years ago, when he chose to ascend, you hurt him six time in two years here and with that in mind George, he's right,
"And with that if you're not going to listen what's the point of staying, in fact, what's the point of rekindling our familial bond and keeping our friendship, if you're treating him like this for lying to you, when he was simply following orders and doing what we asked. I'm a Tok'ra, but if I was I your place, I'd do everything, that you're not and willing to be more patient and open." He said and watched as the look in Sam's read horror and Hammond's eyes read shock at that.
Hearing him explain this to his wording Teal'C felt his heart tear as he exchanged looks with Ish'ta, Bra'tac and Jacob as Bra'tac felt his anger growing with every word then as he looked at the duo with a very stern look then at the news. "Was this why you resigned for real that first time when I came to visit. George didn't tell me anything and Sam gave me vague details of why you did it?" Jacob asked him softly and he nodded to answer him.
"Yes Jacob, it is, you may have been trained in use normal convential weaponry, but I've been training to be a Jedi and I've been training with my katana for two years at the time. I just gave the general my two weeks notice after the Za'tarc incident and the Enkarans at the time and this was to be my final mission. As to why it was so I could get my head together and join Mac and his team at their dig site, but this just made it even worse at the time."
"This is a repeater of Yu's slave farm, I was enacting on their code of honor, Bushido, to translate that it's the way of the warrior and I promised we wouldn't try to escape, but Jack ordered her and Teal'C to, and they made the attempt. After they destroyed the villagers faith in my words as one of them, I get ordered to, if I want them to live, I've got to use the blade and kill a man who is as skilled as I am, and I disarm him, before taking his head off."
"That's why I resigned, I wanted a chance heal emotionally from what they did and the fact I took a life in cold blood and Mac and his team and students were my best chance of that. To them they see me in the way Catherine and my civilian friends that were on the team do, and it's because they see in me a brilliance that most archeologists don't have half, we work well together, I confided in them a few bits of the reason I resigned and here's the big one."
"I've never been more disgusted with my compatriots in the Stargate program, the ones I associate with the most, though six haven't done the damage the quartet had. Of my original team, with the other five ascended. Only one has shown me the friendship, trust and loyalty I deserve ever since my premonition on the mirror. He along with others in the know-know what my mission was really about and decided that screw orders it's about friendship."
"He's just like my other best friend in seeing there was more than meets the eye regarding the symbiote killers and knew I was faking it regarding the sarcophagus. As such he knows everything about my true intentions regarding that mission and every missio at the time and he and the quintet are in on the deception." he said and Lou hid a smile and crossed his arms at that, knowing he meant him, and with him were the ones in the know about his mission.
"So with that he's off the hook, though the other four, they're not right now at the moment and with those words, they're the ones I'm talking to now. When eighteen months of anger results in a murder when they failed to listen till I have to kill in cold blood and it's my first kill by use of a vibro blade." he said and the duo flinched at that remark as they exchanged looks with Hammond and Janet then at the amount of disdain at the remark.
"Charlie bring him here." He added and he nodded as Lou appeared in the room and he walked to his side and rested his hand on his shoulder. "You knew?" Sam asked and he nodded. "I did, when the radio message arrived at the base and she realized he was telling her he learned they were both malfunctioning and he found the Suncrusher, Anna signaled me into his office, locked the door and decoded the translation of the message."
"After you got back and before you were keeping him under observation, he, Teal'C, Paul, Anna and I locked ourselves into Teal'C quarters and he told me what he found out and then swore me and Anna to secrecy after that, before telling me that he was going to be play acting the entire situation. But what I didn't know was she tanked whatever he was eating with a drug like heroin or crack, and that combined with the sarcophagus is what caused the outburst, he was drugged the entire time." he said and they looked at him in shock.
"Lou was the only one of the five you who saw through my acting, and he decided screw it, I meant more to him and like Teal'C, chose me over all this crap you been laying on my back. You know if you were half as smart as you say Jack, you would have seen what it was he, Teal'C, Anna and I were always were in a huddle about. Why out of all of you I associated with them, Graham, Dixon, Warren, Siler and Bill the most, because they're the ones who saw it. In fact they all knew at the time as do their teams." he growled at him and he flinched at that.
"Why didn't they tell me?" he asked and Lou crossed his arms. "Because there are more important things at stake than dealing with a temper tantrum because he didn't let you out, Jack. When he told me, it's because he suspected Makepeace was the mole in the program. So he tells you, you tell Hammond, Hammond tells Vidrine and Vidrine is working for the NID, he orders Makepeace to get the Suncrusher, and you slaughter 800.5 secdecillion lives."
"So that's why he swore me to secrecy, the same is said for the rest of us, you ever notice that Dave and Warren look at Daniel the way I do, a friend, brother. Graham, he sees him as a brother and while Siler's been acting like Warner in friendship, and while you're sitting on your high horses acting like everything is fine. It's he's venting his anger to us and we got talk him down, before he trashes his office out of anger." he said to them and Siler, Warren, and Dixon nodded in agreement to his thoughts as Anna, and the teams that did double duty with them.
"General Carter, we all know, but we agree with your thoughts, when he went on this mission, he chose select members to tell us this to: me, Dixon, Anna, Siler, Warren, Cameron Balinsky. The knowledge died with Evan and his unit and it's trapped in Boyd's team's minds right now, with them stuck on the edge of that black hole. But we all know about this and we went to your choices and decisions, it is possible to return, once he's learned enough and we chose this, as did Warner." Lou said to him and he nodded to his explanation as he went into 3 star mode.
"Did Warner swear to secrecy, let alone Dixon, Warren, Graham and Siler during this situation?" Jacob asked him and he nodded. "Yeah they did, or more accurately the thirty of them were all at the Alpha site when I arrived and they were beyond relieved to see me at the time. Like Lou said, everything I ate or drank had been tanked with a drug as potent as speed or heroin, with Warner being the rehab Doctor, he was able to lessen the pain from the symptoms."
"My physical looks were because I'd been drugged in this situation, but though I was in total control, my body was still craving the toxins from the drug I had in my system, that's the difference. I was in total control, I may have been exposed only ten times, but what they didn't know was these sarcophagi were tampered with, mimicking the reactions of the drugs, I had ingested. For this to work, I had to get them to yank me off duty by any means necessary, second play out the role of a young Jedi on the verge of the darkside at the time."
"Don't get me wrong I loved Sha're, but for this I had to pretend I didn't care about her, let alone Sam, by acting as the consort to Shyla and that was supposed to tip them off, but no. The code phrase 'We can't just leave it there, we got to study it', translation, if we don't destroy them now and I turn into my alter ego it's going to be a fate worse than death. For the victim they're planning on throwing into those things, and by it, I meant the Suncrusher."
"Though we played out 60% of the book, I went it one further and pulled the same ploy that Zekk did and threw my lightsaber at the trees to cut enough light into the portion of the forest I was standing in, symbolizing I was back to being myself again." he said and he nodded. "Yes we felt that jolt when you freed yourself, and I was dealing with Obi-wan's decision to stay on Melida/Daan at the time." Qui-Gon told him and he nodded to that gently.
"What planet were you on exactly if you did this in a mental sim exercise?" Anakin asked and he smiled. "Yavin IV, my mental simulation transferred me out of our galaxy and into yours Masters, and I met all of you face to face, you at your Jedi Master stage, kid, but all of you were transplanted in my head for this. You all said the same thing and it was I passed the test, before Apophis changed shapes and Charlie took his place and believe me I was beyond relieved to see him at the time." he said and sighed as he said it as he finished that.
"Here's a question for you, what would a Jedi look like when he's cleansing himself from the dark that has entered his heart, and how long would it take for your body to fight the toxins of the darkside, when in recovery?" he asked and his eyes narrowed. "What did you look like when you were recovering from the over exposure, before you went back?" Qui-Gon asked him and a picture appeared and they looked at his reddish pale skin and bloodshot eyes and nodded.
"Yes that's what a Jedi recovering from an addiction to the darkside looks like, to free themselves completely, they got to let go of their anger completely, emotional damage released and then from there. After suffering a soul searching exercise, they risk putting themselves into a healing trance by a near death experience, which if I'm correct, is whatever freed you Teal'C. That's what a Jedi turned Sith, to free himself does, or a Jedi addicted to using the darkside."
"But we don't hold this against our peers and students at all, we allow them to return and finish the job. To finish the healing they got to face what they did to move on and begin work on their next mission, without reservations. Though the future generations hold this against them, we as Jedi, do not, it is not the Jedi way to remember the past or reflect on the future, we concentrate on the moment and day by day, they start healing and grow stronger in the force." Sifo Dyas said to him and he nodded as he looked at the quartet, who had scared looks at that.
"But instead of Janet giving the go ahead for me to finish the mission, because I knew her intention was getting Mckenzie involved to run a psyche evaluation, after the sarcophagus, to insure I wasn't a threat anymore, let alone asking why I wanted to go back at the time. I decided to go to Warner, he knew about this as we already discussed this in the tent, I called Warner into my office, along with Siler, Graham, Dave, Warren, Evan, Anna, and Lou. Explaining this, Warner decided he was going to vouch for me and signed my release as I told him that truth."
"Though I told them I was myself again and we should run diplomacy now. Teal'C got the message and knew I was saying it was time to finish the job and moved to my side then, but the trio, they were leery about going back, or trusting me about going back, Jack's tone showed high reservation about backing me up and letting me back on the team." Daniel and he nodded as he exchanged looks with Jumper and Matheson as Warner walked in at that.
"Now is it just because I went to Catherine that you believe you don't have to listen General, as I do believe the pentagon said that though she retired, she was on call if I needed to discuss business with her, she's my mentor, she recruited me and you believe that you're above the rules. These rules exist for a reason general, do you believe you're above them, General Adams gave permission to get Catherine, when I needed her, who said to keep her out of the loop."
"And with that in mind, because I was simply getting in touch with the men who gave orders to do added digging when I needed to. When I needed help, I could call the members of my team when I needed them. Joint Chiefs orders, if I need to call up the civilian team I got permission to do so, permission granted by General Jumper." he said and Jumper crossed his arms at that as Adams answered him. "He's right, I gave that order to get in touch with his team and team leader when he needed to, so while he's following orders you're breaking my orders by following James and this nearly kills him and with those words."
"Alright again, enough is enough, son, the members we chose are Jenny Walker, Barbara Shore and Mitch Storey. With the fact you're officially a one star, but till you get back, you're the one in charge of your unit, the duo are getting stuck at where they are till they pass this mission. And then they all get their promotions, but until then, it's being stuck at their current ranks, so with that, if you want to vent just go ahead and do it now, just get it out of you." he said and he nodded as he looked at Hammond then with a furious look.
"And while I'm on the subject 'General' you recall your exact words regarding our raid during the armbands here?" he asked looking at Hammond and he nodded as he closed his eyes then at the memory. "You were under an alien influence, that's a pretty solid defense.', Well that's not your opinion when I was under orders by the men that outrank all of you. This 'defense' didn't stop you from listening to a NID quack and nearly killing me." he snapped at him angrily then.
"Actually make that six times, I was under orders by the president then too, but you're only taking orders by just one man who's working for the men that blackmailed you by threatening your family. When I said that to you in your office, my tirade after Barbar died, I was just telling you the truth. 'It's beyond my personal comprehension that a man who is so caring can miss the damn points entirely.' Translation, you screwed up six times in six years."
"You knew about my infiltration mission and Aris, but this I don't trust you enough to not turn around and give it to the NID when you only get orders by Vidrine, when I'm reporting to every member of the Joint Chiefs and the president, who are your bosses 'Sir'. The light really was my just venting every resentful thing I had built up for the last two years and the crash is because you forced me into giving up, and it's all because you're not listening and following orders, given to you by the president." he said and Jacob crossed his arms as he went further.
"Because you're just following orders, orders can be bent or broken you know, and that's the leeway that the president gave you all this time, but do you follow his orders, no you don't, you're only listening to Vidrine and he's a snake in the grass, working for a group that is as sick and twisted as the Galactic Empire." he said to him and he flinched at that as he saw the looks on every member of the group surrounding him then as Warner finished that.
"I can vouch for that Generals, once he filled me in the reason he did that, I realized that this was part of his Jedi trials, signed off his release from the infirmary, before letting him go on in taking on this mission at the time General Carter. He told me and a select few, including a couple S.F.'s that were involved in this scenario, we had to ensure he was as believable as possible, to make it work."
"And I put him on light duty, before they left on that mission to create the treaty and destroy the sarcophagi, before they got back and then he ripped the coordinates out of the damn computer. The coordinates of where the Suncrusher is hidden on the planet are trapped in his head, they can't get to them and it's going to stay that way till he destroys the Suncrusher. Though that's another reason why they wanted the Goa'uld knowledge, so they can watch him turn into a Sithlord and start going on a killing spree."Warner told him and he nodded to that smiling at him as Lou looked at Jumper.
"Who gave him orders to blow up the Stargate on Abydos exactly when we got recalled Sir?" Lou asked him and he looked at Hammond and he sighed. "I was under Vidrine's orders Colonel." he told him and he nodded."Why didn't you come to me George?, I would have said to do a bit of digging first, send Samuels to get Jack and find out who it was at that attacked us, before going to extreme measures like this. In fact, to insure this worked Eric and I would say he's on the team, and let him see what he's able to find out, and screw military to civilian attitudes." Hamilton asked him sternly then.
"It's the case of the left hand not knowing what the right foot is doing Sir, fact of the matter is he's been taking orders by a general who's basically turned us into the trust and every member of the flagship team are his stooges. Aside from me, Daniel and Teal'C, are now the ones trying prevent a massacre and this results in nearly killing Daniel, because of a drug overdose. And Daniel is right, where was your good will when he was just following orders by our superior."
"General at the moment the reason Daniel chose to confide in us is because I'm across between Jack and Charlie, I was waiting for him to arrive at the alpha site so we could talk and our bond reached a point where he could tell me anything after. The guys, Anna and I are acting like we're the Rebellion Alliance, you're slowly turning the base into the Empire by listening to Grand Moff Tarkin there." he said pointing to Vidrine and Jacob smiled at his loyalty to him and the sextet.
"Well I'm hereby giving you, Balinsky, and the teams that followed orders, Siler, Anna, and Simmons a promotion to officers training Doctor. You're now a lieutenant colonel Dr. Warner, Graham you're a captain, and you, James are now a Major, in your department starting now. Anna, you're acting Lieutanant Colonel next to Daniel You all did exactly what we wanted you to do." he said as the S.F. he knocked unconscious walked into the room as well and he nodded to Jacob and he nodded as he got it as Jumper finished that firmly then.
"That's 35 of 300 personnel who were following orders in this scenario. Well with those words in mind, I'm rearranging things here, Jacob, I need you here at the base. George is under scrutiny and investigation as of now, for this behavior for the next five months. I want you to tell me everything and two he's got five months to change his protocols, or he's retiring now and you take his place with Hank at your side. I'm here by reactivating your commission, so you're working two fold starting now."
"Well I see this was more about dealing with the greater good and following the orders given to us by the president than it was about regaining the trust of a group that don't trust you anymore. And it leads to a self defense/cold blooded murder scenario that should never have happened and all because they're getting too reckless and ignorant to pay attention to words spoken in code phrases."Jumper said to him and Jack, Sam and Hammond all paled at that as Janet looked at Matheson.
"Yes Well you had every reason to be worried here regarding Sam ever since the Ashrak, General Jumper, as to why exactly, Sam's arrogance ever since she got turned into a host has only gotten worse, she's using that like she's taking advantage of her powers. And abusing the powers is against the rules here as well, she's got the arrogance of the Sith running through her, because she thinks she knows everything and yet she doesn't."
"Because she's acting like Allysa Milano's character in Charmed by trying to force the information to come forward here at the time, in fact Jolinar is one of the youngest symbiotes in the batch, as are the majority. Their knowledge of the sarcophagus technology was cut to a third of what the ancient Tok'ra know it to be, because my knowledge of everything was slowly being dowloaded into my head by this point."
"The sarcophagus is only dangerous if you use when you don't need it and more than once at a time, in the way that Yu, uses it. Egeria told me that it's safe, just don't use it repeatedly till your body gets so used to it you can't live without it, it's like the Roshna. But it's not the sarcophagus that caused you to stop trusting me is it you guys, it's because I chose to focus on insuring that the greater good must be served first, before I got you out of there."
"But here's your problem now Sam, the effects of this technology can help, if you don't abuse it, I knew what I was doing and it's because my full circle was weeks after remembering what the technology does. I realized that the side effects of what Jolinar planted in your head was she's the youngest of the groupings that were born, you got the knowledge of an infant Tok'ra in your head, her knowledge is 80% less of what Selmak, Areanea, Persus and the others know."
"Jolinar only got 20% of the knowledge regarding the sarcophagus, Selmak, Persus, Areanea, Coren and Anya got everything else, as did Remus, Andy and Romulus. I didn't need your pride getting in the way of this, because you never uses it till that mission, and for the record, my trip back in time changed my knowledge of it. Egeria's exact words in this were, 'So long as you use it sparingly and not more than once in a short time, you were safe.'."
"But mix it with drugs or stimulates and the effect are like narcotics. What information regarding the technology I can give you, but remember this, so long as you focus on the good in your heart, you are safe, but this technology is like every medical drug there is. Used sparingly you are safe.', You screwed up and you nearly kill me as a result, simply because you're too much of a coward to speak up for yourself now."
"I wasn't cheating on you, I was faking it that entire time Sam. Is that what this was, pay me back for acting on my deception, I hurt you so much that you feel that you should do the same, by not speaking up when Mckenzie gave that theory." he said and they swallowed at that. "No that's not it at all." She said feeling her heart breaking and he shook his head as he explained it to Jacob, as Sifo Dyas, Yoda and Obi-wan who had disgusted looks on their face at that,
"As for Jack, he's been acting like Han ever since, your orders were searching out the science and cultural value of every mission from now on, but once we get to a good spot to start. Jack ends the mission thirty minutes after I get started on my job, the results are I got to rush to get us out there, and this time this mission, if he's not willing to listen to the fact I have a better way to get us out of there, simply by assuming my role into their code."
"I've been following your orders ever since you gave them to me, and this scenario regarding the Enkaranss resulted in nearly killing me while doing it, because I'm playing hardball with the Gadmeer's computer. As for Senichi, I got to go against my non violence code." he said to him as Panaka looked at Jack with a furious look. "That was your first kill by use of a vibro blade, and you've trained all your life?" Panaka repeated, feeling his stomach turn over at the news.
"Yeah it is, I'd been in training for two years, since the sarcophagus incident at the time, but ever since, it's their not taking my opinions, because none of them can see what I can when I'm the only civilian on the team. So as I said, to them the theories and feelings, my instincts, it's my instincts are worthless because there is not enough evidence to them till they see it for themselves and get the damn proof face to face." he told him and Jack swallowed as he looked at Daniel as he looked Jacob then to explain his side of the story.
"Jack and Sam can't get their heads far enough out of their conditioning to see that not everything is black and white here, there's other solutions other than use of claymores, bombs, grenades and violence, why not try diplomacy for once. Just because you have the power doesn't mean you should abuse it, I'm saying this in your way Master, but violence isn't always the answer, you want a solution, than you got to think outside the box."
"And secondly, just because I'm undercover doesn't give them the right to continuously remind me I failed them. I never turned on them, and yet they're never letting me live down the fact that because I left them down in the mines. Than my ideals and suggestions cause more problems for them than they need, because I held back vital information they didn't need to know, it's like the darkside, faster, easier and more seductive, and I'm getting sick of it." he said and Jack, Sam and Hammond all flinched at that remark as he finished then.
"The arrogance in their attitudes is because we just achieved space travel by creating our own ships, we just achieved several billion dollars worth of advancements. But that is not enough, to make it, we need help by you, the Tollan, the Asgard, the Nox and every advanced Culture we met, simply by exchanging information. We help you, you help us and everyone wins, by us coming together as one to defeat the Goa'uld here."
"And out of us I have the biggest job of all and it's I'm the ambassador for our version of the supreme chancellor and the Galactic Republic, and my job is to create and build bridges, without violence, looking outside the box and look for any ulterior motives. My intuitions have served me well to pick out who was trustworthy and who's not, and I decide to follow up on these decisions and throw a morality question in there as well."
"I want to work out whether or not these trade agreement are really worth it or are the just some smoke screen meant to destroy lives at the time. But do they let me, no, and why, it's because to them, Hammond and Frasier, I'm not trustworthy anymore, because I improvised my acting in the case of the sarcophagus, pretending I had fallen at the time. To them that's meaning I'm unstable, dangerous and out of control, simply because I faked it, I'm acting, they then listen to man working for the fool next to the chancellor and it almost kills me."
"As such, this is why I was so furious at Jack when you told us which Slave farm we'd be going to, because the added information just got downloaded into my head, from my time back on Estrania, that planet used to be owned by Egeria. And Jack is holding in serious anger regarding this and the fact he lost his chance to get a promotion, her a batch of technology that'll destroy you physically and mentally if it was radioactive."
"And to top it off, it's because in his eyes I'm the one who's arrogant, when I tell him we need to do a little digging, even going so far as humiliating me in front of Alar and his band of Nazis. Sam is completely quiet, because to her it's a choice between me or her career and she chooses her career every time. And then lays a guilt trip on me regarding Shyla, actually throwing her in my face when we're on the surface of Vorash arguing about it."
"Which Hammond then throws Sha're in my face just to make a point, he may have lost fifty soldiers, but he's never lived off world to know there's a far more serious danger than advancing before we're ready for it and finally that brings it to Janet. My decisions were improv for three reasons, A: I weakened myself by use of physical harm is what caused her to start considering I was mentally unstable, before my premonitions of the Linvris began, this attitude has been stuck in there ever since the sarcophagus."
"B: I was improvising my demonstration of what the technology does, to you, by putting my remarks into code so they could get them, and finally C: I need to a chance to cleanse my heart and soul from my brief brush with the darkside, by a near suicide attempt. But they don't see this, because they're all still furious, because I chose the greater good over them and left them to deal with seeing what being a slave and miner does to you." he said and Jacob nodded slowly to his explanation as he answered him.
"Uh huh, well, hey Adam, guys, you want me to handle this, I'm one of two new general's working at the base now, and I'm the one spending the most time with them where the Goa'uld and replicators are concerned. I'm also a three star so if you'll let me, I'd like to deal with my daughter and the colonel myself?" he said and they all nodded as Daniel looked at Jacob and he nodded slowly as Jack swallowed at his interpretation of dealing with them, knowing he was about to get the bull in the china shop reaction with his new supervisor.
"I..." he started to say and he growled at him at that. "Shut up Jack, it's been like this ever since I saved your lives in Antartica, you know I should have just let you self destruct instead of saving your damn life, if all of my abilities are nothing, but science fiction to all of you. In fact I wish my alibi had been true and none of you had even met me if you can't take the fact, I'm far more valuable to the chancellor then the both of you together."
"What you think that just because I'm a civilian you don't have to listen to my opinions, your double was this arrogant. And it wipes out the base in that reality, you're leading yourself in the exact same direction and it's because I was in the right, you are in the wrong. With my job I'm following orders given to me by the President and the joint chiefs, you're being given orders by a single general, I'm working for the U.S. Government and SOC."
"Therefore, I'm working for the Milky Way Galactic Republic now. I'm a Jedi, I got to act on my premonitions, before they kill someone or get a planet destroyed, Jonas was a non force sensitive Jedi filling in for me, I'm a real one and with that. Just because you can't see these things, it doesn't mean it's not there Jack, nothing is impossible, but you're never going to learn that if you keep it up." Daniel growled at him coldly as he finished that.
"And for the record, if our roles had been reversed in every scenario, I'd hear what you're trying to tell me and act on it automatically without a fight. Sam and I would be completely relaxed and professional with each other, though I'd react like she's my sister. And this situation of always being in the right would be over. Because I'm now an unofficial one star Jack, I'm your rank now, and I can and will have you court martialed."
"The general let you get away with too much, but how long before you admit that my ways are better than yours. Before you get your heads out of the clouds and listen to a genius who's spent the better part of thirty months living off world and has the power and knowledge to protect you all. Without questioning every decision I make, that includes Reese, I was acting like Jedi, she's an android, I was working with her gently."
"A life form I was trying to put back to sleep and give the Asgard a chance to their salvation and a key to win their war. But you break my mandate again, and I was on the phone with the President. Do you know his and Jumper's orders to me were in this?" he asked and he, Sam and Hammond shook their heads, shaking, knowing every decision they came to for the following four years, was a violation of the orders given to them by the president then.
"What they told me, after I told him what I discovered here, was disarm her, and yank the battery out, but don't kill her, we need a way to fight the replicators. That's our chip in the alliance with the Asgard, they can create a way to disable the replicators this way. So this way we got the upper hand in case they came to our galaxy, and I was intending to hit the circuit breaker and turn her off, though a broken arm but still, before you killed her."
"You recall my exact words to you and don't say it in front of Anakin." he asked him and he nodded as he looked at Jumper, Ryan, Gates, Adams, Landry and Maynard who were all looking at him with stern looks on their faces then. "Yeah I do." he said with a sinking feeling in his heart then. "That's the real reason I was so frustrated with you, every decision you come to, is hindering my missions and just digging you deeper into demotion."
"Just how long can the four of you pretend everything is fine till it bites you in the behind and neither kills all of you?" he asked him and he swallowed as they exchanged looks. "I'm under orders by the state department, the SOC and United Nations now and by preventing me from letting me get my job done, you're destroying my plans in getting us results that work, you think I'd last if this gets all of you killed one day." he said to him and the trio.
Hearing that remark the quartet felt their hearts tear, as they realized what their not listening till the last minute had done to him as he looked at Teal'C then sadly. "Of all of you, only Teal'C and Lou showed that they were willing to see below the surface, because Teal'C decided he was my own personal bodyguard now. His mentor was my new Master and I was in Jaffa training from the day of the attack in orbit, which to their way of thinking."
"Is the same as Jedi training, and as you heard from his lessons, he's Qui-Gon and Ben rolled into one and he, and the pentagon, as well as the president, are so impressed they decided I'm their new ambassador and undercover agent, my mandate are as follows: search out dangerous technology and when found destroy it, dealing with a group hiding it's true personality do added digging and when found out, pull the plug and finally."
"Make peaceful relations with the cultures I'm working with, but look for undercover motives, and when done report back to the chancellor, or in our case the president. Was it respect that you showed me when I told you I knew something was wrong at Euronda, respect that you five showed me when you followed the damn thoughts of a man who's working for that fool standing next to Fisher. My god what do I have to do to get you to trust me again, huh."
"Of all of you my equals were the Jaffa and the Ancients, the Nox, Tollan and Asgard, and now with the fact the high councilor of the Tok'ra knows the truth, them too. But do I get respect for all the work I put into to make sure none of you get yourselves killed, no matter what, no I don't. As I said how long can you expect a civilian scientist to take this attitude, before they decide that screw it, if they're not going to listen to me."
"Why bother staying any longer, when they're too damn focused on demolition and war here, instead of building bridges here at the moment, that's why I ascended, it's because of the four of you! I was under orders by the president, the joint chiefs of staff, and AMRIID." he said with a tone of giving up in his voice and Hamilton ended the tirade at that as he looked at the sextet and Matheson quickly as Jacob felt his heart breaking at what he just heard.
