Chapter 19
The final hurricanes of laughter eventually died down and Will got ready to take his turn.
"Erm, Four, truth or dare?" Four who was still masking his bloody face with a tissue attempting to give Will a 'are you serious?' face but it seemed to put him in even more discomfort so Will, realising his mistake, picked someone else.
"Oh right, yeah, Uriah seen as the though the only injury you've got is that mop-head hair of yours, truth or dare?" Uriah looked outraged.
"You what mate? You wish you had hair like this. Dare, anyway." He retorted. Will grunted.
"I dare you, Uriah, to wait until a non-player walks into the hall and then pounce on them with a hug and refuse to let go." We all laughed thinking of that, including Uriah.
"Dare accepted, but if only it is a girl!"
We waited for about 20 minutes until someone entered the room. Luckily, for Uriah it was a girl but she was a brand new transfer from Candor and this is not really the type of welcome you expect. She walked in looking confused, probably because we were all staring expectantly at her and then Uriah jumped out from behind the door and tackled the girl from behind. She shrieked and dropped the heavy-looking book she was holding as she was more focused of getting the unusually hairy boy off her. Uriah's commentary made this way more amusing.
"You are the chosen one! It was simply destiny that you would transfer to Dauntless and it was certainly fate that you came in this room at this exact moment. The stars themselves align to witness the hug to end all hugs! I AM NEVER LETTING GO!" The girl's squealing was very deafening and I didn't think she was ever going to escape. She seemed smart though, this girl, as she grabbed her very, very heavy-looking book and whipped it round so its point caught Uriah right between his eyes. His body went limp, freeing her and she gave him a kick in the ribs for good measure. Uriah just lay there and groaned.
