Spencer
"Come on Spence."
She looks at Glen with a hint of hesitancy. He rolls his eyes and pulls her away from the Davies sisters. Ashley watches them with nervous eyes and she's feeling like the world's biggest bitch because of it.
"What's your deal?" He folds his arms and she knows that she's ruining his date night, but she doesn't want to be here. "We're on a date with sisters. It's like every guy and lesbo…" She fixes him with a glare. "Lesbians…" He corrects. "dream. Ashley is hot and she's into you. I figured this would be cool since you two are always hanging out and "doing homework."
"We are actually doing homework." She laughs because he's looking at her like he can't believe it.
"Okay I will ignore the fact that you were alone with a girl that I KNOW you like." She rolls her eyes. "This is your chance Spence. It's time to stop sitting on the sidelines. So now I'm going to do something you're not going to like, but will thank me for later." He grabs Ashley and puts her in front of Spencer. "Ashley, my sister really likes you and that's saying a lot because she hates everyone. Please don't stop making her happy." He smirks at Spencer before walking away and throwing his arm around Kyla who smiles the instant he is back. They walk further into the carnival and leave her with the awkward situation with Ashley.
"It's okay you know?" Ashley is the first to speak.
"What is?" She questions with a sneer because it's what she's good at.
"The fact that you like me when I'm pretty sure it's been love at first sight for me." Ashley smiles and her face crinkles.
She won't admit that it's the sexiest thing she's ever seen.
"It's something we can work on." Ashley holds out her hand and she's hesitant to take it because this is new for her.
In the end she takes it.
She breaks out of the memory when someone walks into the room. It's her nurse and she feels bad that she keeps forgetting the woman's name. Ashley stirs in the chair next to her and she desperately wishes the brunette would go home to get some real sleep.
"That girl must really love you."
She doesn't respond. She knows the nurse is talking about Ashley. The entire staff has fallen in love with the brunette and her relentlessness at staying at her side.
"But I'm sure you know that." The nurse leaves with a smile on her face and Spencer takes a moment to stroke Ashley's hair out of her face.

She found out the whole story from Ashley.
She doesn't say it, but her heart flutters when she hears how Ashley and Aiden went into the art area for her.
Then her heart breaks when she hears about Madison.
It's surprising how much it affects her. She just keeps remembering their last conversation and now she wants to ask Madison if death helps. Then she thinks about Aiden and what he must be going through.
She knows the dangers that happen when you make someone your life and they die.
"Kyla is with him." That news intrigues her, but she keeps it from showing. "She asked me if something happened to Glen so I think…"
She doesn't even mean to throw the remote so hard.
It breaks and Ashley jumps back in surprise. It takes every fiber in her to remain calm and she avoids making eye contact with the brunette. The fact that Kyla has lived in denial while she has to go through every fucking day trying to forget pisses her off. She doesn't give a fuck if Kyla suddenly remembers that the only person that ever gave a damn about Spencer is dead.
"I don't want to ask you to leave." She keeps the tears at bay, but her voice still cracks. "I don't… because I lo… I like having you around." She turns to look at Ashley who is staring back in shock. "But I don't want to hear about how your sister finally remembered that she's the reason my brother hopped off a fucking bridge. It hurt…" She catches herself before she reveals too much of herself. "You know what? Just get out."
Ashley gets up without a word and walks out of the room. She mumbles that she'll be outside and Spencer forces herself not to tell her to come back.
