Disappeared
Tears rolled down her cheeks as Kagome stared up dark sky, the only object being visible other than the stars and moon - was the plane that soared loudly. 'Inuyasha...''
Was he thinking of her? Was he looking down on her? 'I should have said goodbye.' Kagome cursed, she should have been there for him, he was probably upset about leaving her as well so she should have supported him.
Koga was late as well, but at the moment grief had her heart so tightly in its grasp, that she didn't care. She had set a barrier over the village earlier and it was starting to take its toll on her.
'I better get some sleep.' Kagome trudged to her hut and settled in, she was too tired to think. Her whole mind was just focused on Inuyasha. Would he ever return to her? 'Of course not, Kikyo and Shippo are waiting for him,' Her concious sneered.
Tears continued to roll down her cheeks and she sniffled. "Inuyasha..." She croaked, her stomach fluttered at the sound of his name, "I love you,"
It was too late. He would never know...she wouldn't be surprised if he thought she hated him. A rumble from the sky above caused Kagome to look out of her window.
The once cloudless sky was now filled with menacing storm clouds, no rain had fallen yet. But the electricity in the air caused the hairs on the back of her neck to stand up. Kagome dismissed the storm and lay back down.
Naraku smirked, the demons were snarling and drool oozing from their lips. He approached the barrier he knew was there and touched it. His right hand was purified and he immediately retracted and growled at the lingering agony.
"Hit it." He growled, and the demons began clawing and firing arrows. He smirked, 'Now whom could have done this?' Naraku mused as he sensed it pulse. He smirked, this would be a very interesing fight.
Her barrier was hit, and immediately the sensation had Kagome to her feet and quiver over her shoulder. Grabbing her bow she ran towards the source. The pounding became much more violent.
"Intruders!" Kagome shouted and immedately she saw demons exiting their huts. 'Good their awake.' Kagome watched as men followed her and women scrambled to the forest with their children. As she reached the end of her barrier she froze.
There was a herd of demons - more than she could count all hitting the barrier. Kagome felt her head pulse at the suffocating aura, but then her eyes widened. 'No...it couldn't be.' Kagome notched an arrow onto her bow and aimed it to the center.
"Get back its miasma!" On cue, the barrier shattered. Many fell dead as Miasma enveloped itself around them. Kagome began shooting arrows as quick as she could, but the miasma was closing in, and her own throat began to burn.
Kagome had no choice, she knew damn well that releasing her energy could hurt her comrades. She looked around, the wolves around her were on their knees suffocating. She gulped and released a wave of pure energy. Her knees buckled and she used her over-sized bow to sustain her weight.
She glanced up, the village was fighting back - and appeared to be winning. Wolves howled into the sky and lunged at demons. Kagome's eyes widened, the carnage was overbearing.
Wolves were clawing and snarling at the demons, bodies were dropping at every moment and the scent of blood made her queasy. That's when she saw demons spilling into the village. Kagome gasped and ran back towards the village, ignoring the growing headache.
Around her bodies littered the ground. As she glanced over the inn, it was on fire. Demons were looting the place and basking in its wines and money. She stopped when a familiar cry resounded throughout the village.
"Ayame!" Kagome gasped and headed towards that direction, strangely enough, she had managed to evade all of the demons. But she halted, there was a bear demon and a bloody Ayame protecting a child.
Blood seaped from a gash on her temple and cuts littered her face and body. Her emerald eyes were now cloudy and Kagome knew that she was losing too much blood. Kagome notched an arrow and fired.
The demon only had the chance to turn around before he was reduced to ash in a flash of light. Ayame looked towards Kagome, a guilty look flashed upon her face. The silence seemed to last forever before Ayame raced to the Miko. "Kagome...I'm sorry," Ayame cried as she enveloped her in a hug. Kagome hugged back, and for a few moments, she was happy that she had her best friend back.
"Now go, Ayame that kid needs you." Kagome assured and Ayame nodded and grabbed the child and ran. Kagome continued sprinting towards Kaede's hut and froze. The hut was destroyed, and a man stood towering over a body. The man turned and Kagome felt her blood run cold.
"Hello again," He greeted, anger flooded over Kagome when she noticed Kaede's limp body behind the guy. The man before her smiled, his crimson eyes connected with hers. He hadn't changed, he still had long ink colored hair and tan skin.
"Naraku," Kagome returned and the man's grin widened. "I thought I killed you,"
Kagome grabbed a quiver and notched it onto her bow, "Well, you failed." Kagome snorted as she raised the bow. Naraku smirked, the tip of the arrow pointed at his chest.
"You took everything away from me. And I'm not going to let you live." Kagome growled and Naraku's tentacles emerged from behind him. She fired, not wanting to hear his response and immediately a bright light purified his tentacles.
Naraku leapt away and as Kagome notched another arrow on her bow, but a limb sliced through Kagome's arm and she yelped and collapsed onto the ground. Blood gushed from her shoulder and Kagome groaned and attempted to crawl towards her bow when another tentacle slammed into her side. She grunted and when her head hit a rock she gasped.
Images flooded her head, her childhood, middle school. High school and the college, Kagome saw herself, and her blue eyes were wide with the sudden enlightment. Tears rolled down her cheeks as a sudden emptiness filled her, she finally remembered.
A tentacle ensnared her neck and he hauled her up, her feet could no longer touch the ground as he brought her close. "This time, I won't." Naraku promised as his grip tigthened.
She knew what was happening, and she whimpered. She would never be able to see Shippo, nor tell Inuyasha she remembered. Her eyes stung as another set of tears streamed down her cheeks.
Darkness began to invade her vision and she let go. Her fingers tingled, and eventually the feeling spread throughout her body. The sounds of carnage faded away and the smell of smoke left her senses.
She was falling, and for a moment, there was peace.
Disappeared
Inuyasha gazed out the window, the village had long disappeared from sight but he swore there was something happening. The bad feeling didn't leave him all day, and he couldn't find Kagome so he left without saying goodbye.
'Did she watch the plane go by?' He wondered, inside his private jet there were eight seats, all a comfortable cream leather. There was also a personal chef in the back and a room in the back as well.
He's been trying to forget her the past half-hour. He had tried everything froma movie, to a book. Hell, he even had the damn flight attendant performed. He had done everything he could from distracting himself, but everytime his mind would revert to Kagome.
Inuyasha growled, the feeling was irking him more than ever. But he knew that Kikyo was already mad enough, she wouldn't forgive him if he came a day late. But something was wrong and he knew it.
Did she love him? In the inn she looked like she was going to say something, but instead had excused herself and ran out of the room. The half-demon had been pondering what she was going to say all day. And it had been bothering him more than ever now since he had departed.
"Damn it!" Inuyasha growled before the flight attended emerged.
She was beautiful, fluent in four languages and slender with a figure. Her blonde hair framed her peach colored skin and her green eyes gazed fondly at him. She smiled at him and batted her eyelashes flirtasiosly, but Inuyasha paid no mind.
"Turn this plane around." He huffed, and her smile faultered. "I-I beg your pardon?"
Inuyasha turned her golden eyes towards her, his silver ears also swivling at the sound of her doubt. He scowled in annoyance, "Did you not hear me wench? I said turn this fucking plane around."
She nodded and quickly scurried to inform the pilot of the sudden change of course. Inuyasha downed the rest of his scotch and brushed the glass aside. The blonde emerged, "We will arrive in half an hour, sir," He nodded and sighed.
Kikyo was going to kill him.
