A/N: Thanks for the reviews and PM's because as or right now, those really are what's keeping me going.

A/N2: Just a quick explanation. There is a reason Chuck is as advanced mentally as much he is in this story. Yes I am aware that when it comes to intelligence, Chuck is almost super heroish in his abilities. But there is a reason I did this. Unlike the show, I didn't want to have gaps or WTH's in the things that make Chuck special. Either he is the best hacker in the world, or he's not, either his brain is special or not. I magnified all this because if you remember the beginning of the story, Chuck didn't turn to only video games after Stanford; he turned to programming and honing his computer skills. Think of five years of Chuck dedicating almost all his time and efforts into computers and programming. Is there really anything he couldn't do with a computer? Also, there's a reason the Intersect worked so well in Chuck. It was his ability to not only retain information but process that information. Why should that only be limited to the Intersect? Shouldn't those same abilities manifest themselves in the real world when he's looking at information?

Anyway, that is why I've went more towards Chuck being a technology super hero instead of some wanna be Ninja. Sorry if it seems unlikely or you don't like it but that is the direction I wanted to go with this story.

Thanks as always to my beta, Gladius. I made a lot of changes to this chapter after it being beta'd so all mistakes are mine and I apologize if I missed some.

I don't own Chuck.

Chapter 21 - Someone To Lookout For You

{April 13th 2007 12:46 - 209 lbs}
{Chuck and Sarah's Living Room/Conference Room}

"Say it again Chuck." Sarah was straddling her husband as they were sitting comfortably on the couch in the living room, waiting for their conference call with the Team. Chuck had recovered very quickly and he was over anxious to help Bryce track down the mole. They had a briefing in 20 minutes but Sarah wanted this time with her husband.

"Mrs. Bartowski." Chuck smiled, kissing her neck, sucking just the slight bit on the soft, warm skin. Chuck couldn't help but feel so happy right now. He was so grateful for all the help, care, and nurturing that his wife gave him on his road to recovery. He knew deep down that he could have just as easily resorted back to post Stanford days and put on the weight that they had worked so hard to keep off. Chuck couldn't help but feel blessed at how Sarah never demeaned him or forced him to do anything. Instead she motivated him in her own way to continue to recover, continue to exercise, although the exercise she did with him was not exactly things you'd do in a gym, and he loved her so much more for it. She was truly his guardian angel... and now wife.

"Oh my God Chuck, I want you so bad right now." Sarah couldn't believe it was three weeks of being married and they were still acting as if they were on their honeymoon. If she thought she loved Chuck before making if official than what she felt for him now was something that they hadn't quite came up with a word for. It was borderline crazy.

Chuck looked to the time. While he loved any time with his wife, for some reason a quickie didn't seem appropriate for them right now. Everything had been slow, caring, loving over the past few weeks. There was never a feeling of being rushed as they enjoyed the newness of being married. But Chuck knew that now getting back to work meant that quickie's might be the only way to find alone time. Although being able to do most of their work from home did help. He just hoped he'd be able to concentrate on work.

"Hey Chuck, guess what?" Sarah sat back so her husband could see her radiant face.

Chuck knew where this was going as he couldn't hide his jubilant smile. "What Sarah?"

Sarah leaned in and mischievously whispered in his ear. "I'm not on the patch any more. You know what that means?"

"A year supply of condoms?" Chuck gave a sheepish look as Sarah slapped his arm.

"Nope." Sarah bounced her head side to side.

"Uh, an inordinate amount of cold showers?"

"Stop, I'm being serious." Sarah kissed the side of his cheek. "I'm waiting to hear you say it."

Chuck just laughed. "Does it mean we're going try to have a baby?"

"You guessed it and I wanna try right now." Sarah lifted her shirt over her head and threw it on the floor, quickly realizing that any hope of having Chuck focus on the conversation went with her shirt.

"Your girls have missed you Mr. Bartowski." Sarah stuck her chest out, loving the blank stare that came over Chuck.

"Huh?" It was a testament that he was able to squeak that word out staring right in to possibly two of God's greatest gifts.

Sarah took that as a 'yes' as she unzipped his pants.

{Chuck and Sarah's Living Room/Conference Room}

"Hey man, why don't we meet you in D.C. and we can work this together. I don't want you alone out there tracking this idiot down." Chuck was in a conference call with Bryce, Director Graham, and General Beckman. He hated having Bryce out there without backup.

"You guys okay with that?" Bryce was hoping they would come out. He was close to finding the mole, but he was having a hard time disseminating the information he found. There was only one man that could do it the best, and besides he missed his bud.

Chuck turned to Director Graham. "Is it okay if our team goes out there or do you think it will cause to much of a distraction?"

Graham looked to Beckman. "Actually it might be good for Team Intersect to come out. It might be just what we need to force the moles hand."

Chuck already got confirmation from Sarah but he wanted to make sure Casey was fine with it. Chuck looked to the side monitor where Casey was conferenced in. "Casey what do you think?"

"I just want to find this bastard and deliver some good old fashion justice on the traitor."

Chuck couldn't hide his grin at his partners wild west antics. "Alright, I'll have Lisa send out some encrypted chatter that we're heading to D.C. She already knows the communication footprint for this guy so if we get him talking to Fulcrum, we can catch him." Chuck felt Sarah squeeze his hand, letting him know how proud she was of him.

"Agent Bartowski… Sorry the other one, Sarah, do you feel your husband is fit for duty?" General Beckman addressed the glowing with pride female agent.

Sarah actually had to do a double take at Beckman's use of her real name now. She hated people calling her Agent Walker, and it was nice to hear the General showing respect to their family. "Ma'am he's more than ready, I can hardly contain him."

"Good, we've missed having Chuck out in the field. Make sure you and your husband stop by for dinner when you come out." General Beckman looked forward to having them for dinner. She wanted to hear how everything was going.

Chuck turned to Sarah looking for an okay for the next thing. She smile and nodded. "Ma'am, Sir, have you considered my request for enhancements to the Intersect?"

Graham and Beckman both smiled at this. Chuck was brilliant in his assessment of how to make the Intersect more useful. "We have and we've gotten approval from the President to move forward with Intersect 2.0. We would like you to co lead the project along with the original Architect as soon as we can contact him."

Chuck couldn't contain his excitement; he'd finally be able to work with the original architect of the first Intersect, although he had heard rumors the guy was extremely reclusive.

"Very well team, we'll see you shortly. Travel safe." Beckman and Graham both disconnected along with Casey, leaving only Bryce still online.

Chuck turned to Sarah as she was ready to leave. "Honey I'm going to stay and talk to Bryce for a bit. I'll be upstairs to help you pack in a bit okay?"

Sarah gave him a hug, "I'm proud of you Mr. Bartowski. I'll see you upstairs." Sarah turned to leave when Chuck stopped her giving a slight cough.

Sarah rolled her eyes as she turned to the screen. "Be safe Bryce." Sarah then looked to Chuck, giving him the 'there I said hi' look. She then continued up the stairs.

Bryce and Chuck looked at each other, both trying to hold their excitement in until they couldn't hold it any longer.

"Man that new Intersect is going to be awesome. Can you imagine us as Intersect 2.0's, we'd be like super heroes." Bryce couldn't contain his excitement thinking back to the exact conversations Chuck and he used to have about becoming Super Heroes. Some nights it would turn in to a all night nerd fest dreaming of super powers, costumes, and even names.

As if Chuck was reading his best friends mind. "We'll have to come up with new names and costumes. That would be so cool." Chuck couldn't wait to start work on the Intersect 2.0. First things first though. "Alright man, you doing okay? I hate the fact you're out there by yourself."

Bryce was quickly brought out of his musings at the concern in Chuck's voice. "I just hate ciphering through all the data I've collected. Lisa's a big help but I could use you here with me man. That way I have your analytical skills in the field when the data becomes available."

"I know bro; we'll be out there hopefully tonight or early tomorrow. Meet up with us at the airport and we'll head to your place."

Bryce just smiled thinking about the fun that awaited. "The Xbox awaits."

"Dude don't bring that up. Sarah will kick my butt if she thinks we're just going to play games all night." Chuck cautiously looked around, making sure there was no spying eyes, or ears for that matter in the room.

"Well you better not be planning on doing anything in my spare bedroom; that would be just gross."

"Really dork? We just got married. There aint a 'no sex' zone anywhere."

"I heard that Chuck." Sarah yelled from their bedroom.

Bryce started laughing. "Dude you're so whipped."

"Damn right I am." Chuck pridefully folded his arms across his chest, not ashamed one bit.

"Alright Bro, I'll meet you at the airport. Tell Lisa to just let me know when you land."

"Will do. Stay safe Bryce."

Chuck disconnected communication as he double timed it up the stairs to his bedroom, the excitement of finally seeing Bryce again and starting work on the Intersect almost to much to handle for one night. All that left his mind as he stopped dead in his tracks at the entrance to his bedroom. His mind went blank as he saw Sarah kneeling on the bed in front of him, wearing only a red nightie that barely covered anything.

"Chuck. Are you really going to be playing video games?"

Chuck just stood with a blank stare, slowly shaking his head back and forth.

"Because your wife really wants you to be with her." Sarah was really pouring on the seduction.

Once again a shake of the head. "Yeah…"

"Now are you going to play video games with Bryce Chuck?" Sarah seductively motioned him to come to her.

"No…"

"And why not Chuck?" Sarah grabbed him pulling him to her.

"Video games bad…"

"Now that's a good boy. Do you like?" Sarah held her hands out making sure Chuck got a full view.

Chuck shook his head up and down. "I like a lot."

"I thought so. Now come here." Packing would have to wait.

{Government Plane Heading to Washington}

"What do you think babe?" Chuck showed Sarah his diagram model of the schematics for the new Intersect. The last few days Ellie had helped him a lot with the design and once she explained the dynamics of the brain, Chuck soaked it in like it was the schematics of a mother board. He knew the key to the new Intersect would be the wiring.

Sarah had her hair tied up in a bun, a pencil through it, holding her hair in place. She had her business suit on because Chuck said he loved seeing her in it. "How do you map your reflexes to what you flash on? Couldn't the wiring get crossed?" She slowly crossed her legs, suddenly realizing just how short her skirt was.

"Chuck? Sorry." She quickly covered her legs with a blanket.

"Hey, that helps me think." Chuck removed the blanket as he placed his hand on her thigh, reveling in the warmth and silky softness.

Sarah looked up at him. "So feeling me up helps you think better?" Sarah couldn't hide her smirk.

"It helps me to stay calm because you feel so good no matter where I'm touching you. But your thighs just have more of a softness to them and I really like that."

"Well I'm not really sure how to respond to that." Sarah placed her hand on top his making sure he knew how much she loved his touch. She smiled at him, "But it's nice and I really like when you touch me. It keeps us connected."

Sarah suddenly had a very inappropriate thought as she looked up from her seat seeing how much privacy they had. She felt Chuck squeeze her thigh bringing her out of her recon. "What?"

"I know what you're thinking and no and yes." Chuck gave her a mischievous look.

Although Chuck's expression was so adorable, Sarah was a little confused at what he was implying. "What am I thinking?"

"Mile high club right?" Chuck gave her the eyebrow dance as he smiled seductively at her.

Sarah really had no idea now what he was talking about. "What's the mile high club? Is that a Denver Broncos thing?"

Chuck's look suddenly turned to amusement. "Okay I find that response very sexy and yet disturbing. You really don't know?" Chuck questioningly looked at her.

"Seriously Chuck I've never heard of that." Sarah was trying to read what he was thinking because obviously it was very amusing to him. "Tell me."

"You know, it's like in college when you put a sock on the door."

Sarah scrunched up her face thinking how gross that was. "Why would you put a sock on the door, that seems unsanitary?"

"You really have no idea do you?" Chuck was smiling as he was giving her his full attention. "Mile High Club is for people that have sex on an airplane."

"They have a club for that? That seems a bit impersonal don't you think? I don't want anyone knowing when you and I have sex on a plane. It's none of their damn business." Sarah gave a determined look as she squeezed Chuck's hand a little tighter than normal.

Chuck couldn't hold in his laugh. "I really love you right now you know that?"

Sarah let go of his hand as she folded her arms, not exactly liking this line of conversation. Sure they had a lot of sex, but that wasn't anybody's business and she sure didn't want to join a club for it.

"You're just too damn adorable woman. Thank you for marrying me Mrs. Bartowski."

Sarah gave him a sideways glance. She was no match to his charm and although she didn't like the conversation, his heartfelt thank you made her soften up a bit. "Well, thank you for letting me Chuck."

Chuck gave her a huge smile. "Trust me it's been all my pleasure and then some."

Sarah elbowed him. "Will you behave; I'm not joining your stupid… Wait a minute; are you already a member of that club?" Once again the arms were folded as she stared right through Chuck.

"What? No, no way. Sarah I was barely a member of the three foot club. I had my membership revoked a long time ago."

Okay now he was being just too cute. "Good, because I don't want our love to be some kind of joke." This time Sarah pointed her finger right at him. "And I know you and Bryce are disgustingly in love with each other but what you and I do to show each other our love, I don't want to hear you joking around about it. Especially with Bryce."

"Oh look who's jealous now." Chuck gave her a take that look.

"Of you and Bryce? Never." Sarah just turned her head trying to ignore him.

"Sarah?"

Sarah still had her head turned away from him. "Yes Chuck?"

"If we have a boy, can we name him Bryce?"

Sarah couldn't hold her giggles in. "I really hate you right now."

"Or if we have a girl, maybe Brycen?" Okay now he knew he was pushing it.

"Yeah because that's so much better." Sarah quickly turned back around. "Will you just stop?"

"You started it." Chuck stuck his tongue out at her.

"Oh no you didn't just stick your tongue out at me." Sarah grabbed his cheeks, squeezing hard enough that his inviting lips were sticking out in the cutest expression. "Now who loves their fantastic and wonderful wife?" Sarah started moving his face back and forth. "That's right; my little Chucky loves his wife doesn't he?" Sarah was playing around in her talk to baby's voice. "Say yes to Sar Sar."

"You do realize the fate of the world often rests in our hands?" Chuck was so happy right now.

"Your point?" Sarah was closing the distance to his lips.

"My point… I love you."

{Secured Tar Mac in Washington}

Sarah had never had so much fun as she did on the plane. She knew she was acting silly and a little out of character, but the hell she had to go through in that hospital, she deserved to step out of her comfort zone and have some fun with her husband.

But as the plane landed, it was time be a spy, to be on alert and attentive, and most of all, to make sure Chuck was safe.

Before they stood to debark the plane, Chuck grabbed a hold of Sarah's arm, already seeing she was preparing to be the Agent she was born to be. "You promised me."

Sarah sighed. "I know and I'll work on it, but I need to do this okay?"

"But we do it together remember. We don't lose ourselves in the process. You're my wife, and while this is a business trip, I don't want to always disseminate between Sarah the Agent and Sarah the wife. You're Mrs. Bartowski and I expect you to treat me as your husband okay?" Chuck leaned in to kiss her knowing that this was hard for her. But they talked about it. She knew if they wanted to start a family she would have to cut the umbilical cord sometime.

Sarah knew the only person that could protect Chuck as well as she did was Casey and Bryce. And even though Casey was like family, it was obvious to everyone that saw Chuck and Bryce together that there was a stronger bond formed through their struggles. Chuck would need someone that would love him almost as much as she did and could protect him, that was Bryce and she knew it. Until that time however, she would not relinquish Chuck's protection to anyone but her. And she wouldn't let up. She just needed to have more faith in him as a field analyst. She would do this. "I love you Chuck and remember we're here to find the mole so that means at any moment we could be in danger."

"No worries honey. Lisa's already on high alert, she knows how important this is. Bryce and I will find this traitor, I promise you that. We have a certain incentive to get this guy."

Sarah gave him a hug. "We all have an incentive and remember we're a team. And also remember until you have the Intersect 2.0 operational, you're not Iron Man."

"I do love when you talk nerd to me." Chuck calmed her down, letting her know he understood. "Alright, go time. Let's find Bryce."

{Bryce's Car Traveling towards his House}

"Are you mad at me already? Because I'm sure that's a record." Chuck was looking at his watch as the 3 agents were headed to Bryce's house. Casey had decided to stay at a hotel near the airport where he was going to meet up with some members of his old unit.

"The greeting at the airport with Bryce? That was embarrassing." Sarah just shook her head

Chuck shrugged his shoulders. "That's our Vulcan Bud Handshake. I thought it was pretty cool although I don't remember ever having to grab each other's butt at the end, but I thought it was pretty awesome."

Sarah gave him a stern look, making sure Bryce, who was driving, could hear also. "People were staring at you two. We're spies Chuck, not nerds heading to a Star Trek Convention."

Chuck had a devious idea.

"Stop it and I mean it this time." Sarah gripped his leg.

"Fine, I'll be good but I'm just really happy to see Bryce and start working with him."

"Me to Bro. Got a bunch of cool stuff for you look at when we reach the Fortress of Solitude." Bryce turned slightly from the front seat, trying not to look at the evil glare emanating from Mrs. Bartowski.

"You're so cool Bryce." Chuck was in awe at his friend.

"I know right?"

Sarah just rolled her eyes. "Oh my God. I wonder if Casey has a spare bed."

Bryce almost swerved off the road as both he and Chuck had a horrified look on their face.

"You boys just keep it up." Sarah was really just playing. She was extremely happy that Chuck was so much at ease with Bryce. They both know that they can work flawlessly together and when you're not tense, you're less likely to make mistakes. Still though, she wasn't about to be treated like a third wheel.

. . .

"Here we are, you guys like?" Bryce pulled up to his safe house.

"Oh man it's so cool. Where'd you get the Rebel Alliance mailbox? That thing rocks."

"You think that's cool; you should see my miniature replica of the Millennium Falcon. It actually doubles as a drone."

Chuck had to control his bouncing as he couldn't wait to fly it. "Oh sorry honey, let me get those."

"No really, I'll get everything." Sarah tried to shrew him away.

"Sarah, I'm going to help you. I'm sorry." He opened her door as he grabbed the suitcases. He leaned in to kiss her. "I said I was sorry, I'm just really excited to be here… with you of course."

Sarah really wished Ellie was here or at least Carina because she didn't know how in the world she would survive these two love birds.

{April 14th 2007 12:55}
{Bryce's House}

"Show me what you got so far Bryce. I want to take a look at the data you collected." Chuck wanted to get working as soon as possible. The faster they got this done, the faster he and Bryce could play around.

"It's over here Chuck. By the way man, where's Lisa been? I thought she'd be helping us with this right now." Bryce led Chuck and Sarah down into the secured conference room.

Chuck really did miss Lisa but she was busy with the processes he had upgraded her with. "I needed to do some upgrades and have her run some system checks and cleanups... or in other words, I gave her a 'spa day'." Chuck couldn't help but smirk at his analogy.

Bryce playfully shoved his best friend laughing a bit at the analogy as he quickly typed in a couple commands on the keypad and suddenly the entire room lit up with the virtual projector screens.

Chuck couldn't believe he was actually staring at this new technology. It was like living inside a computer screen, all data was manipulated by just a touch and then projected onto the clear glass screens. He really did feel like Tony Starks right now.

"The analysts have been going over this information for weeks and nothing." Bryce looked to Sarah who had a smirk on her face.

Sarah could see her husband's wheels already turning.

Chuck was processing all the information scanning everywhere, looking for patterns, looking for anything out of the ordinary.

Bryce leaned in near Sarah and whispered, "Is he flashing?"

Sarah was filled with so much pride as she responded, "Nope that's all him."

Bryce could see Chuck extend his hand behind him. "What's he doing now?"

Sarah just smiled, "He needs to think." With that she just gave a look to Bryce and walked over to hold onto Chuck's hand, wrapping her arms around his.

Chuck never skipped a beat as now he could think more clearly having his wife right next to him. It was only seconds later and Chuck found it. "There, look Sarah." Chuck pointed to a strange binary pattern in the data. His mind was going a mile a minute as he brought his wife to stand in front of him with her back to him.

Chuck pulled her to him, holding her around the waist with one hand and leaning forward so his head was almost resting on her shoulder. "See, see that pattern. Look at the end point in the bit stream."

Sarah was literally melting at just how wonderful she felt. She was holding Chuck's hand around her waist and she just loved the feeling of Chuck's face right next to hers. This was so comfortable, so relaxing for her and it made her feel so important. Not that she needed validation, but to know that Chuck always was able to think and process data with her in his arms was something that she cherished. Of course, showing off in front of Bryce was just a bonus.

Chuck swiped the screen bringing up the next page seeing the exact same pattern on a response ip call.

Sarah saw what he was pointing at. "Chuck, that looks like a communication protocol encrypted with the same pattern the mole was using."

Chuck now was laying his chin on her shoulder, practically jumping with excitement. "Sarah, you know what this means honey?"

"Uh, I hate to break up your… well whatever you two are doing, but would you mind filling in the only person in the room not sleeping with Chuck, what you found?" Bryce couldn't help feeling a little left out.

Sarah just smirked at Bryce, reveling in her husband's arms. "Chuck found a way to track not only the moles communication but all communications to and from Fulcrum."

"How does he do that?" Bryce couldn't believe Chuck did in five minutes what the best and brightest in the country couldn't do in three weeks.

"Because he's brilliant." Sarah reached up and gave her husband a quick kiss.

"Sarah I think… oh sorry Bryce, forgot you were here." Chuck gave a quick apologetic look at Bryce but then he returned to the screen.

Chuck knew all he had to do was have Lisa track the patterns in the code and they would have access to the way Fulcrum communicates.

Chuck turned Sarah towards him, a look of pure hope on his face. "We could take them down with this honey. Cut the head off the proverbial beast. It would cripple them."

Sarah reached up both hands to her husband's face. "You know what else that means?" She kissed him tenderly, knowing that this could relieve the pressure of Fulcrum trying to find them. It also would mean their family would be safer although she knew there were still bad guys out there; that would never change. But this was a win for them, and they definitely could use this.

Chuck could see in her eyes what she meant and he couldn't help but smile as he held her close, bringing her in for a deep kiss.

"Get a room will yah." Bryce just smiled, realizing that this truly was a huge find.

{* * *}

The four spy's had just finished up dinner and a short briefing with General Beckman and Graham. Once again Sarah just reveled in the look of astonishment on her superiors face when Chuck told them what the 'team' found. But they knew it was Chuck, but her husband would never take credit for how great he really was.

The dinner was really nice and it was good for them to get out of 'Spy' mode for a bit and just enjoy the company. Sarah was so proud of how Chuck was very respectful and very much a gentleman to his superiors. But she could also tell that something was on his mind the more the group talked.

It wasn't till later that Chuck asked if he and Sarah could talk to the General outside. It wasn't that Chuck didn't want the rest of the team involved, it was that he didn't want to show any disrespect to the General.

"What is it Chuck?" Beckman could tell something was weighing heavily on her prized pupil.

Chuck took a deep breath. "General, I know we've decided to not go after the mole in hopes of having him lead us to the other leaders of Fulcrum." Chuck felt Sarah squeeze his hand. "Look, I know you are an incredible and strong woman, but General this mole is NSA. I'm worried he might come after you."

Now Beckman learned not long after meeting Chuck that surprises were evident. What she didn't expect was that he would care this much about her safety. Of course that wasn't true, Chuck cared about everyone. Even so, it touched her that he was concerned.

"I just don't want anything to happen to you General. I know you could kick everyone's ass, but if something happened to you because we wanted to wait, I just couldn't live with that." Chuck lowered his head. It was odd talking to the General who was in a casual dress. It was such a contrast to what she usually wore and maybe that had a lot to do with how he was feeling.

Beckman was sincerely touched and she knew Chuck would worry about her if she didn't let him know she'd be alright. She placed a comforting hand on Chuck's arm. "Chuck I'll make sure I step up my protection detail okay? I don't want you worrying about me."

Sarah was so touched by her husband's concern. "Is there anything we can do on our end?"

"Your team has already done more than expected. You two just take care of each other and keep doing what you're doing." Beckman could see Chuck still had a worried look.

"Chuck, I'll be okay. And trust me; I will call if I feel that the Mole might be getting desperate."

Chuck looked at the General. "You promise?"

Beckman just smiled. "I promise Chuck. Now go have a nice time with you wife."

Chuck and Sarah turned and went back into the house leaving Beckman alone on the balcony. She looked to the sky realizing that Chuck was right. She had to be very careful, but she couldn't help feeling grateful that she had someone to look out for her. Someone that unexpectedly she realized that she'd do almost anything for.

Beckman just shook her head, not even realizing how strange that thought, or her feelings for Chuck and his family really were. It was definitely not the norm for the hardened General, but was welcome never the less.
