A/N: I'm a procrastinator and my lovely beta, LovinRob, has a life so this has not been touched by her red pen. All mistakes are my own.

~Wishful Thinking~

It's a beautiful spring morning and I'm using the tire of my car to stretch out my legs. I'm getting ready to go on a hike. I've been looking into some good trails for hiking since moving to Forks a couple of months ago. That creepy guy, Mike, who owns Newton's Sporting Good's told me about this trail.

I make sure I have my cell phone, a bottle of water, and a granola bar all tucked into my small fanny pack before heading off. Don't knock the fanny pack. It's perfect for a long hike.

I set out on the trail. It's so quiet and peaceful and everything is so lush and green. The trees create a canopy over head, keeping the area swathed in shade. I loaded up on sunscreen anyway.

After awhile, the silence becomes a little unnerving so I pull out my cell phone and hit shuffle on my music library. I'm starting to wonder why I haven't seen anyone else. It's a gorgeous day, the weather is perfect for hiking and the trail is a breeze to maneuver.

As I'm coming around a bend, I gasp at what I see. There is beautiful well up ahead. I pick up my pace and circle the structure before deciding that I'll take a rest here. I pull off my fanny pack and unzip the small pocket on the front, looking to see if I have any stray coins. I find a single penny and pull it out.

"A lucky penny," I say out loud.

I take a moment to think about what I should wish for. I decide to just wish for health and happiness. And a maybe I wish for a guy that I could share that health and happiness with.

I toss the penny down the well. I wait to hear when it lands and when I don't hear anything, I bend over the edge and look down. It's pitch black and I can't see anything. I shrug and turn around.

"Holy shit!" I scream.

Mike Newton is standing right in front of me. He has a crazed look in his eye. It freaks me out so I attempt to step back only to realize that he pretty much has me pressed up against the well.

"Such a shame," Mike says, pushing a strand of my hair behind my ear with his dirty finger.

"What is?" I ask as a feeling of dread twists my stomach.

He leans in, his breath hot on my neck, "It's a shame that I have to kill you, Bella."

Before I can respond in any fashion, he pushes hard on my chest and I topple into the well. I scream as I fall, watching Mike's smiling face get farther and farther away and then everything goes black.

A/N: Umm… Yeah, sorry about that. Wells creep me out so I always think bad things about them. Thank you for reading and reviewing.
