PART TWEENTY-ONE - The one where Jack and Judy stop by.
Rachel woke up one morning to find Chandler making breakfast in her kitchen.
"Morning, Rach" said Chandler
"Morning" she replied and walked over to the table "Where's Mon?"
"Still in bed" he replied
"Chandler can I ask you something?" Rachel asked
"Sure"
"When was the last time you slept at your own apartment?" she asked and then added "Without Monica?"
Chandler stopped what he was doing and thought seriously for a moment.
"I don't know" he said "I guess sometime before I found out about the babies"
"Ooh that's so sweet. Why couldn't you have been like this before?"
"Like what?" Ross asked as he suddenly entered the apartment
"I was just wondering why Chandler here wasn't always this kind and sweet" Rachel said to Ross
"Yeah Man. Why is that?" Ross asked
"'Cos before I didn't have Monica" Chandler answered without missing a beat.
"Awe" Rachel cooed "Anyway...What are you doing here Ross?" Rachel asked
"I just came over to see if you guys wanted to hang out" replied Ross
"Can't" said Chandler "I have to go to work"
"Why don't you do what you normally do" said Rachel "Call in sick"
"I would, but if I keep calling in sick I wont have a job and we kinda need the money" Chandler replied
A few minutes later, Chandler went to wake Monica up.
"So what have you got planned for the day, Rach?" Ross asked as he sat down on the table
"Just work. Then I'd thought I would start packing. Or at least tidying my room" Rachel replied.
Just then Joey walked in with Monica and Ross' parents coming in behind him.
"Hey look who I found" Joey said as he gestured behind him
Ross stood up from his seat and walked over to his parents.
"Mum, Dad what are you doing here?" Ross asked
"Well your Mother and I were in town so we thought we'd see if you kids wanted to have lunch" Jack replied happily
"Okay" said Ross
"Where's Monica?" Judy asked
Suddenly Monica's bedroom door opened.
Chandler walked into Monica's bedroom, to wake her up. She was still sleeping and he didn't really want to disturb her. But he did want her to have breakfast. He walked over to her and tapped her shoulder lightly.
"Morning" he whispered
Her eye's opened slowly and she smiled at him.
"Hey" she said
She sat up and gave him a quick kiss. Then she stood up and grabbed her robe.
"I made you breakfast" Chandler said, watching her tie her robe up.
"Really?" she asked, slightly intrigued "What'd ya make?"
"Pancakes. 'Cos it's really the only thing that I can make" he replied
"Oh I don't know about that" said Monica "I've seen you make toast and cereal"
Chandler laughed "And how do you 'Make' cereal?" he asked
Monica glared at him.
She turned and looked at herself in the mirror. She pulled her robe back and examined her stomach.
"What are you doing?" Chandler asked
"Can you tell I'm pregnant?" she asked, ignoring his question
"Yes" he replied "Only because you're glowing"
Monica turned around and smiled.
"Really?" she asked
"Absolutely"
Chandler walked over and hugged her. They share a quick kiss. Chandler then rested a hand on her stomach.
"I love you" she murmured against his lips.
He grinned and kissed her again. This time more passionately. Then Monica pulled back slightly.
"Will you still love me if I get fat?" she asked
"Yes" he said "Now how about those pancakes?"
She smiled and they both headed out.
"Are you going to make me breakfast every morning?" she asked
"You're not that lucky" he joked
They opened the door and walked out.
"What about when the babies get here?" she asked
"Babies?" Judy asked
Both Monica and Chandler jumped at the sound of Judy's voice
"Mum. Dad!" Monica said surprised "W-what are you doing here?" she asked
"Never mind that" snapped Judy "What's going on here?"
Judy gestured to the nervous couple standing before them.
"Uh..." Monica made a small sound.
Chandler took one look at Monica's pale face and decided to take action.
"Mr and Mrs Geller, you might want to sit down" he said.
Ross, deciding to help walked over to his sister. To show his support. Rachel then joined the Geller's on the couch and Joey leaned against it.
"Monica, what is going on?" Jack asked
Monica was to shocked to say anything. Ross wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Again Chandler took charge.
"Well...Mrs and Mr Geller. Monica and I are dating" said Chandler "And she's pregnant"
Judy turned towards her husband.
"Oh god Jack" she said softly.
"I know this is a bit of a shock" said Rachel
"But they are really happy together" Ross added
"How long have you been seeing each other?" Jack asked Monica
"Since- since London" she replied.
Ross lead her over and sat her down in the arm chair. Then he sat down on one arm and Chandler sat on the other.
"Ross' wedding?" Judy asked
Monica nodded. She really didn't want to deal with her parents. She was thankful that she had Chandler and her friends to support her.
"So you knocked our little harmonica up?" Jack asked Chandler, sternly.
"It wasn't like that at all" replied Chandler. He reached down and grabbed one of Monica's hands. "Look I know this is a lot... But Monica and I are in love. You should be happy for us"
Jack softened and looked over at his daughter.
"Monica, is this true?" he asked
Again she nodded "Yes it's true. I do love Chandler"
"Well if your happy, then so are we" said Jack "Congratulations"
He got up and pulled Monica into a hug. Then he let go and hugged Chandler. Pulling him down close to whisper in his ear.
"If you hurt my daughter I will hunt you down" Jack hissed
Chandler looked shocked as he pulled back. He shook his head. Trying to tell the man that he would never hurt Monica.
"Mum?" Ross asked when he noticed that Judy hadn't moved.
"I'm glad you're happy dear" Judy said as she got up an hugged the couple. "Wait" she said pulling back suddenly
"What?" Monica asked
"Babies? You said babies" said Judy
"Well, I'm having twins" replied Monica.
There was another round of hugs. Then after a long Joey spoke.
"So these pancakes, they're for everyone right?" He asked Chandler
"Uh yeah, Joe" said Chandler "Help yourselves guys"
Everyone except Monica and Chandler moved to the kitchen. At that moment, Chandler was very grateful that he had made so much. He took a moment to look at Monica. The whole entire conversation all he was thinking about was how much this could stress Monica out.
"You okay?" he whispered
"Well. I'm still shocked" she replied slowly "But...I'm okay"
"Are you sure?" Chandler asked concerned
She graced him with a smiled and nodded.
"Thankyou" she said
"For what?" he asked
"Being so supportive. With my parents. You didn't have to be so..."
"...Of course I had too" Chandler said cutting her off. "I know how stressful that was"
Monica shrugged. "At least it was over quickly"
"How 'bout some breakfast?" he asked
"Okay"
Chandler took her hand and led her to the kitchen.
