Last Time: "He was summoned back by them? Right?" he asked and she nodded, "Play them at their own game."

Kagome's eyes widened to the max. Of course! Why hadn't she thought of that?!

Should she tempt Lady Fate's hand? Did she really want her to possibly bring some bad karma down on her head? If it was absolutely necessary, damn straight she would. She didn't want to but she would. Kagome knew what she had to do and it wasn't something that she wanted to do.

Their souls were resting in peace and were calm and happy. But her motivation was clear. How long would it be before the council decided to go after them to harm her? Well right now in her book it was better to ask for forgiveness than for permission. Permission could get you watched but doing then ask for forgiveness, that could get you in a little trouble but in the long run get you respected.

She was going with the forgiveness route.

"Lady Fate, forgive me." she whispered.

With that whisper Kagome locked into her powers and plunged herself into her own version of limbo. Her limbo was better than the limbo you read about. All white and nothingness. No sound, not even the sound of your own voice. The only thing you can hear is the sound of your own mental voices. That would drive anyone to insanity. But her version consisted of times that were the greatest in the souls she cared for lives.

Each soul had their own unique life, their happiest moments would play for them. She didn't want them to suffer any more than they had. She walked calmly through their memories and went for the four that she needed, the four that she needed to help keep order and for her own peace of soul and mind.

She found the first and smiled as she watched the memories flash around her. Little children with black hair and purple eyes laughing and trying to mimic their father as a delicate woman carried a basket of flowers. Then those gradually changed into those as a young amorous monk and then to the head over heels with a feisty demon slayer.

"Miroku?" she called out.

The memories literally froze as the soul froze. He turned to her voice and his violet eyes widened. Kagome smiled at him to reassure him that it was her.

"Kagome?" he asked.

"Yes, I'm here." she said.

He rushed to her and hugged her tightly. He missed her, even in death he subconsciously knew that he was gone and had been for years.

"How, what?" was all he could articulate.

Kagome sighed and bowed her head. It was going to take a little while to tell. He was the most understanding of her friends and it only made sense for her to come to him first and tell him. He could help her tell the others when the time came. She regaled him with her tale and watched the varying emotions drift across his handsome face.

"He's back and is now threatening the peace of the Soul Society?" he asked.

"Yes." she answered.

"Did I ever go there?" he asked.

"No, I had you all sent straight to the afterlife, the heavens. Inuyasha had to wait a bit he had a few years of misdeeds to burn off. Buddha wouldn't budge with that one. I set up for the heavens, a limbo state that you could be in to watch your happiest memories. A little piece of love from me. But I need your help. Will you help?" she said.

"Kagome, will I have to return here?" he asked.

"What do you want to do?" she asked instead.

"I want to be with Sango. We have been here hundreds of years without each other and it has dawned on me and I miss her so much." Miroku answered, his eyes pleading.

"Ok. So what do you say?" she asked.

"I say let's put him in his grave again." he answered.

Kagome smiled and nodded. That was just what she wanted to hear, he was with her. She would give him what he longed for, his Sango.

They left his limbo and crossed through her plains to find her next soul. This soul was not Sango but it was one that she couldn't afford to allow Naraku to get ahold of. Sesshomaru would never forgive her if she left her here and Naraku summoned and corrupted her soul. She may be a goddess but she was sure that Sesshomaru would find a way to kill her.

There she was just as beautiful and just as ever the lady Sesshomaru raised her to be. After she had stayed in the village for four years she pleaded with Sesshomaru to take her with him to his home. She loved the village but she loved him more. He was her father, her mentor, and best friend. It killed her to be away from him like she had been and so when she was 13 she begged him to take her with him as her gift and he did. He finished raising her and she was so ever the elegant lady that his mother was.

"Is that?" Miroku asked.

"Yes that is Rin." Kagome called out and everything froze.

The memories froze right in the middle of Sesshomaru giving her his permission to come live with him. Rin turned her dark head to her. She was young, older teen in form. She looked very much like herself only with brown eyes and hair.

"Lady Kagome, Miroku?" she said confused.

"It is us, Rin." Miroku said.

Rin smiled and ran to them. She grasped them both in a bone jarring hug, she had missed them both. But Kagome could see that she missed someone else even more than she had missed them.

"Where is Sesshomaru-sama?" she asked them.

"He is waiting for my return. He will be overjoyed to see you." Kagome answered, "But first we have to get two more of our friends.

Kagome motioned for them to follow her as she led the way to get Sango. She led them further into the limbo and into a place that looked remarkably like Sango's slayer village and at the center of the limbo-village was Sango staring off at her memories. Her memories flashed by. They could see her happiest moments. Kohaku was being placed in her arms as an infant, Kirara being presented to her as her friend and guardian, passing her slayers tests and making her father so proud, and then Miroku proposing to her.

"Sango." Miroku whispered.

The images faltered and then calmed and continued. Kagome smiled, even hear Sango could still feel and subconsciously hear him.

"Say it again, only louder." Kagome said.

"I know." Rin said, "Do what you do best."

Miroku smirked and sidled up to her side and then to her front. He did what he always did, he groped her. The images froze and her fist went flying.

"Letch!" Sango yelled.

"Ahh, my lovely Sango, how I've missed you so." he sighed contentedly rubbing his jaw.

"Miroku?" she asked confused.

"Yes, darling." he said lovingly.

Sango pounced on him. She missed him dearly and just wanted to hold him close to her. Kagome and Rin smiled at their friends. They knew just how they felt, missing someone that much. They just watched and listened as the two caught up with each other and then the attention was turned back to them. Miroku had mentioned them and Sango had jerked her head towards them. Her eyes lit up when she saw Kagome. Kagome lifted her hand and waved. Miroku said a few more words to Sango and then they came over to them.

"Miroku told me. I will help you, Kagome." Sango said sternly.

Kagome inclined her head. She knew what Sango was thinking. Naraku was loose again and there was no way that she was going to allow him to harm anyone again like he done her or any of her friends.

"Good, now we must get Inuyasha." Kagome said.

"Right." Sango said.

Kagome led the way to where Inuyasha was. It didn't take them long to get there. Their hanyou friend was lying in the grass, arms crossed under his head staring up at the sky where his happy memories played. They could see them. Days spent with his mother laughing and playing, learning with her. The day he met Myoga and Totosai. Then when he met and fell for Kikyo. Those times with Kikyo where then followed by the days he had spent with Kagome and their friends. Those times with them were in great abundance and seemed to be the brightest.

"I'll handle this one." Kagome said.

The others nodded and Kagome went to him. She sat down on the grass next to him. She didn't speak or anything, just watched him. His face was calm, peaceful, and he was smiling. She hated to break him from this reverie.

"Inuyasha, Naraku is back." was all she said.

This time the memories didn't freeze, they shattered. Inuyasha jumped up and started waving his arms around, looking around wildly and then stopped when he saw Kagome sitting there.

"Kagome." he said softly.

"Hello, Inuyasha." she said and looked off in the distance.

"Kagome, what...?"

"I need you Inuyasha. Naraku was resurrected and he is more powerful than ever. I need you to come back with me and help me defeat him once again." she explained.

"Keh! Can't do anything without me. I'm in. Can't let that bastard run loose." he said gruffly.

Kagome smiled and shook her head. He was still the same, her lovable best friend. She missed him so and now he would be back in her life. She wondered how well he was going to take all the new people in her life and her status being in play at all times now with followers.

"Come on." Kagome said and opened a portal back into her home.
