Diary Chapter: Viktor Entry 01

It's been a while since I've kept a journal, but since everyone else seems to be keeping some form or record of their experiences so far…'when in Rome', I suppose.

Cosmos' request was unusual for someone like her, but not unexpected.
After all, I was trained to expect the unexpected.
But *their* appearance was something that cannot be even thought of as unexpected.

I couldn't have imagined that VOLCANO would come here.
It wasn't their leader's style, in my experience.

My inability to use their "magic" ended in my defeat, even with Collin's help.
Something in me prevents me from using it, unlike the others.
I'll have to ask Alex to look into it when I get back to the Hawk.
I'm not sure what to think about my first contract, though.

Either way, however, VOLCANO's arrival changes things.
I'll have to be more careful, now that there's more than one air-mobile power flying around Spira.
The money from our first contract will have to go towards weaponry for the Hawk, assuming we survive it.

Anyway, it looks like it's me, Kel, and Collin at this point.
The weaklings are taking deck below.
As harsh as my comrade's words are, Collin has a very good point.
We need soldiers, not children.
Other than us and maybe the crazy one, we're not exactly a fighting force to gasp at. I don't trust this Shuyan Chao, either.
I've met people like him, and they can be…unpredictable in their allegiances.

Once this man saves us, and we get to dry land, I'll call up Alex.
I'll have to be leaving by night to get my contracts without notice.
Cosmos didn't want Kel involved, since he already has enough to deal with, and I plan to keep it that way.
This is a job for trained operatives.

K ENTERTAINMENT NOTE: This entry is a little late but that's my fault I forgot I had it.
