Previously on Every Witch Way: "You can run, but you can't hide little witch." I heard Axel call out. "It's over." I drew in a shaky breath and held it as I heard them drawing closer and I had no other choice but to run. Suddenly a burst of pain shot through my body causing me to fall to the floor. "Like I said," Axel replied as he and Amaya now stood over me. "It's over."

"Any last words witch?" Amaya asked coldly. "We do." I heard Diego's voice and my heart skipped a beat of happiness. "Your right Axel." I heard Kim's voice and a pang of jealousy hit me then vanished. "It is over," Kim said angrily. "It's over for you." Axel laughed. "You think two weak little Kanay's can stop the two of us? Ha! you must be joking." "The two of you don't stand a chance." "Maybe not." Suddenly a fury of anger now burst inside me as I recognized Mia's voice. What is she doing? I thought angrily. Trying to play the hero? She stole Diego from me. "Two Kanay's may not be enough, but how about three?"

I looked over and saw Mia channel a blast of fire toward Amaya, but she managed to block it with a burst of purple-blue magic that shot around us like lightning. "Is that you got Mia?" She gloated. "Guess you've gone soft." "Guess I was right." Mia retorted angrily. "You really are a coward Amaya." I gathered up all the strength I could and shot out an extreme burst of ice toward them as I saw green sparks of magic coming from Kim and the earth now began to move underneath us. "Now Maddie!" I called. "Move!"

"Stay strong Jax." I heard my mother's voice as if she was right next to me. "Don't be afraid you can do this baby. Show your father what you can really do." Feeling all the magic I had within me rise to the surface. I slowly rose to my feet and realised I was glowing with intense black-blue magic energy that seemed to wrap around like vines. "Stay away from Emma!" I shouted angrily as I shot a burst of energy at him and watched as he flew across the room with such force that it shattered the wall. "No one hurts her as long as I live."

"No one hurts her as long as you live? well I think we can fix that little brother." Axel replied as I saw his brown eyes shift to a menacing fury of red and a sudden rush of fear rushed through me, a fear so powerful it was paralyzing. No! I thought as I began to panic. Another burst of crimson red-black magic shot all around us again, and this time hit all of my friends one by one, and they vanished! "No!" I shouted as memories of my horrible night terror suddenly came rushing back to me. "No! No! this can't be happening!" I cried out falling to my knees and shaking. "Emma, Emma listen to me calm down." I felt Jax's arms around me embracing and calming me down.

"Just one left to go." Amaya said she looked at her parents then at Axel and they all nodded. I looked over just in time to see a blast of rainbow colored bursts of magic shooting toward me and once again the paralyzing fear came back. "No!" I muttered helplessly. "Please not this." Unable to move, I could only watch in horror as Jax stood up now and shot out a blast of his magic to counter, but the blasts of magic from his family were too powerful and just like that, time suddenly seemed to slow down as if moving in slow motion as The colored blasts shot through Jax's body. "NOO!" I shouted as I watched his body slowly hit the ground in front of me. It was just like in my nightmare. I couldn't believe this was really happening. Now I was all alone. "I'll always love you Emma." Was Jax's only reply before he became as still as night. "NOOO!"

Chapter 21 - A World Without You (Part 1)

{Emma's POV}

I sat there on my knees in complete disbelief. I was in too much of a shock. I couldn't believe any of this was happening. What was I going to do now? I blinked as a round of tears spilled from my eyes and down my cheeks, as I tried to gather myself together. How am I going to get myself out of this now? I thought. I drew in several shaky breaths and looked around, expecting to see the Council ready to finish me off, but didn't see them. What the heck is going on? I thought shakily getting to my feet. I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes, feeling my magic rise and bubble up within me.

I drew in another deep breath and chanted, "The thought of being alone is quite tragic, so as the Chosen One, I use my magic to locate my friends!" Suddenly I felt myself being lifted into the air and through a mystic pink portal. When the portal vanished, I suddenly found myself now standing on the sandy beach as the waves washed over my shoes. "How did I get here?" I wondered aloud. "I said to take me to my friends not the beach."

"Emma!" I turned my head just as I heard Andi's voice as she ran toward me and hugged me. "I'm so glad you're okay!" She exclaimed happily. "How did you get away from the Council?" I blinked in my eyes in confusion. "Andi, how did you get here? Where's Maddie and Diego?" "Everyone else is over there." Andi said as she pointed up the beach to the sight of the Beachside Seven. I took off and ran ahead of her up the beach and into the shack, where I found Diego at the counter serving up a smoothie to Maddie.

"There you are." He said as he looked at me. "What's wrong? You look like you just saw a ghost." I felt my breath catch in my throat as I tried to reply but nothing would come out. I started to feel this empty hallow feeling inside my chest, as I took a seat at one of the nearby tables and rested my head on my arms. "Emma? You okay?" Diego asked obviously noticing my mood.

I shook my head as I turned and said, "The Council killed him." "Killed who?" Andi asked as she finally approached us. "Jax." I replied as I felt tears threatening to fall from my eyes again. "Who?" Maddie asked now turning toward me with a roll of her eyes. "Jax." I replied looking at her. "Who are you talking about?" Diego asked. "Jax." I replied sternly. "Come on guys, this isn't funny." "Em, we're not joking." Andi said as she put an arm around my shoulder. "Who's Jax?"

"Jax Novoa." I said now feeling a sense of annoyance. "His family is part of the Council that's been trying to destroy us, what's the matter with you guys? Why don't you remember this?" "Take it easy Emma." Diego said softly. "I think you just had a rough day. You need to rest." "No!" I cried as I jumped up from the table. "I don't need rest! Jax's family did something to you guys to make you forget him!" I felt my magic shooting through me again as I was about to cast a spell when I suddenly felt a wave of dizziness wash over me, and a blanket of darkness was the last thing I saw.

TOO BE CONTINUED...IS Emma losing her mind?! How is it that she's the only one that remembers Jax? What did the Council do to her friends? Will her powers be enough to stop them for good?
