Hey! Wow. It's been FOREVER! Please forgive me. Busy life since school started. Though that's kinda lame, since I haven't updated since July. But I do have another story that needs to be worked on. Anyway, here's the next chapter!

Sadie's POV

We entered the door, holding hands. I was afraid that someone was going to see the door open, but it turned out that the misty stuff Hazel was using worked pretty well. When we got in there, we walked for a while, still invisible. We were following Frank, the fly. No one was there so we turned visible again.

"I feel a presence. Something strong, but old, as if it had been there for a long time. Fifty years at the least," Coral said.

"How do you know?" I asked.

'Well, it's something I learned how to do while at the castle. Endon said it was very impor-" Coral stopped and looked around, a little confused.

"What's wrong?" Annabeth asked her.

"This is all wrong," Coral said, shaking her head. "It should be right here. The presence is very strong, as if we're right on top of it, but I don't see anything."

"Where's Nico?" Hazel asked. "He should have shadow-traveled here by now."

"Maybe there's some kind of trapdoor here. You said we could be right on top of it," Frank said.

Coral's eyes widened. "Maybe you're right! Nico must have wanted to shadow travel right to the enemy." She pulled out her dagger, and lifted it up above her head.

"What are you doing?" Annabeth asked.

"I'm going to stab the ground with my knife to open the trapdoor," Coral said.

"What? I don't think that would work," I said.

She considered this for a second then nodded. "You're right." She, then, sliced open her arm.

Hazel screamed. "What did you do that for?" she asked but Coral wasn't listening. She held out her sliced arm above where she thought the trapdoor would be, and let the blood drop to the floor.

"I, Coral, heir to the throne of Deltora, have sacrificed my blood to open the door and reveal the enemy!" Nothing happened, at first. We stood there in silence, as coral's arm continued to bleed. Then, the ground began to rumble. "Step back! The trapdoor is bigger than I thought."

We stepped away and waited as the trapdoor opened up. There was now a square hole in the ground that was about 6'X6'. Coral grinned. "How did you know to do that?" I asked her.

"Just an idea I thought I might try. My brain gets some weird thoughts sometimes...Anyway, let's go!" She jumped through the hole.

"I hate it when she does that," Hazel mumbled. "It scares me..."

I just shrugged and jumped in after her. It was about twelve feet deep, so I had to roll, but other than that, it was perfectly safe. That was, until I saw what we were facing. A giant about ten feet tall in silver armor. He spoke in a low, angry voice.

"HOW DARE YOU DISTURB ME AND THE BEAUTIFUL LILIES OF LIFE I AM SWORN TO PROTECT! ANYONE WHO TRESPASSES WILL DIE!"

I panicked. I don't understand why. I had faced things worse than this, but I panicked and called Carter. You see, Walt had made these charms for us. He said if we ever got separated, and one of us got int trouble, use it to communicate. Well, when I panicked I used it.

"Really? You're going to kill us? I'd like to see you try!" Coral shouted at the giant.

I looked at her with disbelief. How could she do that? I also noticed Nico was there, talking to her. I imagine he was trying to tell her not to encourage the giant, but she wasn't listening.

"Come on! Try to hit me!" Coral shouted. The giant roared and swung his sword at her. It was surprisingly fast, but not fast enough. Coral jumped out of the way and laughed. "Is that all you've got you snobby giant?"

"Coral! Are you trying to get killed?" a voice asked from behind us. I turned to see Carter and the others had made it. Percy was the one who spoke.

Coral glanced at them. "What are you doing here? I thought we agreed that you guys stay on the lookout for Thaegan's children!"

"Yeah..," I said. "I might have panicked and accidentally told them we needed their help."

"Well, we didn't. We could have handled this guy on our own," Annabeth said.

"It doesn't look like she's much help, making him mad like that!" Carter said. Coral had gone back to yelling at the giant.

"We're trying to stop her! She won't listen," said Hazel.

"It looks like the giant got her has a cut on her arm," Calypso said.

"Nah," I told her. "She sliced her arm open."

"Why?" Percy asked with disbelief.

"She opened up that trap door with it," I said.

Percy looked like he wanted to say something, but Nico came up in front of us. "Guys, I figured out what she's doing. It's not something she could have done by herself. She's distracting him so that we can hit him. Waiting this long won't be good. Soon enough, she'll start getting tired and the giant will just get angrier, which would lead up to her getting hit. We need to help. Now."

Percy stared at him. "How did you get that?"

"We don't have time for that! I think he's right! Coral is slowing down. Let's get him!" I said, then ran in. I went up behind the giant. "Ha-di!" I yelled. My favorite spell. I didn't do much. Just a small crack in his armor. I looked around and realized everyone else seemed to get what Coral was doing.

"Who's the fastest here?" Coral asked.

"If you're talking about someone taking over your job, Annabeth can do it. She's done it before, except she was invisible," Percy said.

"BAAHH! Please do NOT remind me of that!" Grover said.

"Okay, Annabeth, start shouting in-" Coral dodged another attack, "Insults! You'll distract him as I put my cloak on!"

Annabeth nodded and said, "HEY, UGLY!"

It worked...for a second. He turned to Annabeth, growled, and then turned back to Coral, who's hair was stuck in her cloak. "It's stuck! Keep yelling!" Nico ran over to help her.

"Hey! I'm going to touch these lilies of yours! See, I'm walking toward them." Annabeth was slowly walking backward. The giant glanced at her, grunted and turned back to Coral. He lifted his sword.

I couldn't understand. He said he was sworn to protect the lilies but he was so focused on killing Coral, all he could do was grunt at Annabeth...

He was getting ready to attack. Unless someone sacrificed their lives, Coral was done with. There was no way she would be able to dadge his attack with her hair stuck in her cloak. I would have jumped out there, but it would have been too late by then.

"Hey giant! YO MAMA'S SO FAT..." Percy had just started telling the giant a yo mama joke. The giant turned to look at Percy.

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY, BOY?" Percy had did it. He distracted the giant. I looked back at Coral. She looked shocked, but was working on her cloak.

"YO MAMA IS SO STUPID..." He wasn't even finishing the jokes. In fact, he didn't even have time to finish them. He was dodging the attacks. Finally, Coral got her hair unstuck, and put her cloak on. I turned back to the giant, who was trying to kill Percy. Couldn't help him with that.

Wanting to do something, I went for the Lilies of Life. I wonder why they're called that, I wondered. As I approached the small flower bed, I could smell the flowers. It was a very calming smell, very sweet. Suddenly, I bumped into something. Was there some kind of barrier?

"It's attached to his soul," a voice said behind me. I turned, there was no one there.

"Who's there?"

"Sadie, it's Coral. I have to stay under this cloak, or the giant might turn his attention to me again."

"Right. I knew that."

"I know how to defeat him. As I was distracting him, I remembered something. Sunlight."

"Yeah, we were just out into the sun not too long ago."

"No, sunlight is his weakness. There is no body under the armor. Only his soul remains inside the body. The soul is still there because he is sworn to protect the Lilies of Life. He's able to do that with a bit of magic, but there's a flaw. If the armor is exposed to sunlight, it will disappear. The armor is the only thing keeping the soul on we need to find a way to get sunlight in here."

"Leave it to me," I said, grinning.

"Try not to destroy the place. We could get into so much trouble for that."

"Yeah, whatever." I sprinted toward the wall away from the trapdoor. I had a plan. It might destroy part of the place, but it was a plan. And it was going to get sunlight in this dark place.

Hey! Long, nice chapter. Nice present to apologize for taking so long. Let me know what you think!
