Chapter 20 - Rehearsal

They met the rest of the bridal party that night for the rehearsal dinner.

She smiled at InuYasha, "I can't believe that guy."

He smiled back, "I know. Talk about a rude awakening."

Just then the host came back, "your table is ready."

Kagome widened her eyes at InuYasha, who just chuckled in response.

When they finally reached the table they started busting in laughter.

"He was so rude!"

InuYasha shook his head, "I thought that he might be on his man period."

Kagome smiled, "that has definitely got to be the answer."

InuYasha looked at her a moment before placing his hand on hers, "did I ever tell you… how beautiful you look right now," he said as he leaned in closer to her.

Kagome smiled at him with a light blush on her cheeks, "yes, about ten times."

InuYasha smiled at her, "well you better be ready for me to tell you the rest of the night," he replied as he leaned over and gently kissed her on her lips.

She held her breath. He was so intoxicating, and she loved every minute of it.

When they finally broke apart, blushing fervently at the public display of their affection, they turned to their menu's to wait for the rest of the bridal party to get there.

"Mommy," Ariana shouted as she came over to the table.

Kagome's eyes widened as she looked to her mother, "is she feeling better?"

Her mama looked at her with confusion, "she is feeling fine. I didn't know she was sick," she looked over Ariana, "are you feeling okay, sweetie?"

Ariana smiled real big, "I am feeling great, right daddy?"

InuYasha looked at her with wide-eyes.

Kagome looked skeptically at him.

He scratched the back of his head.

He looked at Ariana, "if you think you are feeling fine, than you are feeling fine," he told her with a wink.

Ariana immediately became excited, "mommy, are you and daddy a family now?"

Kagome felt her face blush, "Ariana, what are you talking about?"

Ariana looked at her with her brown eyes as big as saucers, "daddy told me that he was going to be making us a family."

Just then, Mr. Rinne, who had been quiet up to that point, decided to spit his water out.

Kagome turned to InuYasha, who was shaking his head in the negative at the young girl, until he noticed her eyes on him.

He smiled at her, "kids, huh?"

"Are we missing something?" Rin complained as she came to the table.

"Don't ask," Sesshomaru insisted as he came behind her and pulled her chair out.

Rin turned to Kagome, "later," she mouthed.

"Well, here's the happy couple," Miroku said as he came to the table.

"Couple? Who?" InuYasha looked around nervously.

Kagome felt a blush on her cheeks.

Miroku raised an eyebrow at InuYasha's behavior as he pointed towards the front of the restaurant.

Looking that way, InuYasha saw Kikyo and Koga, "Oh," he replied, feeling awkward.

He looked up at Kagome, who for all purposes, was holding her dignity together as best as she could. They did decide to wait until after the wedding to tell everyone else, so they wouldn't steal any of Kikyo and Koga's thunder.

Miroku sat down in his chair, next to InuYasha, "what is with you man?"

InuYasha glanced at him before looking back over his menu, "what do you mean?"

Miroku opened his mouth –

"Don't ask," Sesshomaru insisted.

Rin hit Sesshomaru on the shoulder, "I want to know to."

"What is everyone talking about?" Koga asked as he reached the table.

"Nothing," InuYasha answered quickly.

"InuYasha is acting weird," Miroku told the man.

"That is nothing new," Sesshomaru grumbled.

"Hey," InuYasha said offended.

"Mommy, is daddy okay?" Ariana asked her in a whisper.

Kagome looked at InuYasha who was still trying to tell Koga and Miroku that nothing was wrong, "I think he might just be stressed out."

Just then, InuYasha got up from his chair and planted both of his hands on the table.

All chatter ceased.

"Nothing is wrong," InuYasha finally replied.

Koga and Miroku stared at him a moment.

"Something is definitely wrong," Miroku mused aloud.

"What is everyone talking about?" Kikyo asked once she reached the table.

"Nothing."

"Don't ask."

"Hey, I want to know."

Kagome took a deep breath, 'this is going to be a long night.'

Fairy Rains: haha. No. I thought that too. I really felt for her. I could only imagine some guy you were highly attracted to, but had only known for like 2 months telling you something like that. I would have been thinking about him driving me to a pier the entire time lol. Yes, I am doing so good in school this semester. To say that I am proud of myself would be an understatement. I keep telling my husband, "I made a blah blah on homework," and after a while he is like I know.. you told me five times already :3 lol. It has been my best semester (so far), since I had my daughter. Keeping my fingers crossed for a great finish ;)
