Austin's POV
"Austin, what do you think of the song?" Ally asks me. We're writing another song for me, which we haven't done for a while. I actually kind of missed the practice sessions we would have at Sonic Boom. They were always so much fun, and it really sucked that we had to give them up for school. It's really been a long time, and I'm happy that we're back to writing songs since the finals are finally completed for the year.
I smile at her and place my hand on her shoulder. "It's great, Ally. But I think it would be better in D major instead of minor."
She scrunches her eyebrows, which I find so adorable. "Really?" she asks me, turning to me and raising an eyebrow; I nod. "Well then," she smiles, "I guess I have to try it.
She starts playing, and immediately, I know the song's better. Ally's still the best songwriter I could ever ask her, but I know for a fact that D major is better for this song than D minor. She then starts singing it.
We were both young when I first saw you
I close my eyes and the flashback starts
I'm standing there
On a balcony in summer air
See the lights
See the party, the ballgowns
I see you make your way through the crowd
And say ''hello''
Little did I know
That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
And I was crying on the staircase
Begging you please don't go
And I said
''Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story baby just say yes"
So I sneak out to the garden to see you
We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew
So close your eyes
Escape this town for a little while
'Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter
And my daddy said stay away from Juliet
But you were everything to me
I was begging you please don't go
And I said
''Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story baby just say yes''
''Romeo save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel
This love is difficult, but it's real
Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess
It's a love story baby just say yes''
Oh oh oh oh
I got tired of waiting
Wondering if you were ever coming around
My faith in you was fading
When I met you on the outskirts of town, and I said
''Romeo save me I've been feeling so alone
I keep waiting for you but you never come"
Is this in my head?
I don't know what to think
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said
''Marry me Juliet, you'll never have to be alone
I love you and that's all I really know
I talked to your dad, go pick out a white dress
It's a love story baby just say... yes"
Oh, oh, oh, oh
'Cause we were both young when I first saw you
When she finishes singing, I start applauding. It is such a great song, and it is absolutely perfect for her... Wait. My thoughts begin circling as I realize something. Did she write this song for her? I mean, it's told from a girl's point of view...
"Did you write this for you?" I ask while chuckling.
"What?" Her voice went super high, telling me that she did.
I give her a pointed look. "You totally did!"
She sighs in defeat and then says, "Okay, fine. I did. But, hey, I can change it so then it can be for a guy. Like, for example, I can change the proposal and the loneliness and how he knew..." She starts to trail off, writing that in her book, but I laugh.
"No, Ally, it's okay," I told her. "It's perfect for you. I absolutely love it."
She looks at me with concern. "Are you sure?" she asks me. "I mean, I can write a song for you. I'm so sorry."
I laugh and reassure her. "Ally, it's fine. I don't mind at all. Besides, I already wrote two songs for myself. It's completely fine."
"Are you sure?" she reiterates.
"Of course," I tell her. And I mean it. Ally deserves some songs for herself. I'm not going to be the one to take that away from her.
"Okay," she smiles. "Thank you, Austin, for everything. Not just for the song, but always being there for me and helping me get over my nightmares and everything. It means so much to me and I have no idea how I can have such an amazing guy like you."
I sit there, completely dumbfounded at first. Is she kidding? Of course she deserves me! In fact, I don't deserve her! She's such an amazing girl, and everyone can see that. She's the most perfect girl in the world.
"Ally," I start, taking a deep breath, "you're wrong. In fact, I don't deserve you. You deserve the best in the world, and I only try my hardest to try to give you that."
She stays silent for a while, but then beams and says, "Well, you're doing a great job, but you don't need to try that hard. You are the best in the world." I smile at that, pecking her on the cheek. Then, she continues, "Wait, you said you wrote two songs for yourself, but I only heard one. What's the other one? I really want to hear it!"
I chuckle and tell her, "Actually, you were supposed to hear it. I was planning to sing it to you right before you caught Dallas and Macy making out. But, then things happened, and I ended up choosing to sing Beautiful by Christina Aguilera instead."
"You lied to me about you not writing a song, but I'm not made, since you sang it so beautifully," Ally adds. After realizing what she said, she blushes and says, "No pun intended." We both laugh at that, but then she looks at me seriously. "Come on, please? I really want to hear it right now."
I quirk an eyebrow. "Seriously?"
She nods. "Seriously. Now, come on. Sing it for me."
I bite my lip and say, "Um, okay." Then, I start playing it on the piano and start singing.
1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4
Give me more loving than I've ever had
Make it all better when I'm feeling sad
Tell me that I'm special even when I know I'm not
Make me feel good when I hurt so bad
Barely gettin' mad
I'm so glad I found you
I love bein' around you
You make it easy
As easy as 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4
There's only one thing
Two do
Three words
Four you
I love you
There's only one way
Two say
Those three words
And that's what I'll do
I love you
Give me more loving from the very start
Piece me back together when I fall apart
Tell me things you never even tell your closest friends
Make me feel good when I hurt so bad
Best that I've had
I'm so glad that I found you
I love bein' around you
You make it easy, as easy as 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4
There's only one thing
Two do
Three words
Four you
I love you
There's only one way
Two say
Those three words
And that's what I'll do
I love you
You make it easy, as easy as 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4
There's only one thing
Two do
Three words
Four you
I love you
There's only one way
Two say
Those three words
And that's what I'll do
I love you
(I love) I love you
1, 2, 3, 4
I love you
(I love) I love you
I finally hit the last chord and look at Ally, who seems to be crying tears of joy. She seems so happy. She then engulfs me into a hug, and I smile.
"The song was absolutely beautiful," she whispers to me. Then, she groans and says, "Why did I never realize that the guy I've always wanted was standing right in front of me?"
I break the hug and then say, "Well, at least we're together now."
She smiles at me, and then we lean in for a kiss, meeting at the middle. Immediately, I feel sparks as we kiss some more. After a few seconds, I swipe my tongue across her bottom lip, and she immediately grants my tongue entrance. Our tongues then fight for dominance, wrestling each other. Her hands find their way to my hair, combing it, while my hands find their way to her waist. We keep kissing for what feels like eternity until we hear a door open. We jolt away from each other awkwardly, and I already miss it when we were kissing. We both look at the door to see Ally's dad there. Oh. Oops.
"You guys know I love you guys dating," he starts, "but seriously? Was that necessary?"
We both look at each other longingly and blush. Ally then exclaims, "Dad! It was necessary!"
"Hey," I add, smirking, "I bet that you were also making out with Ally's mom when you were our age, so I wouldn't be saying anything if I were you."
Ally's dad blushes crimson, even more red than Ally and I are combined, so I automatically know that I was correct in my assumption. Ally and I both laugh, before Ally's face scrunches up, feigning disgust.
"Okay, I did not need to know that," she says, and I laugh. "TMI. But, dad, what do you need? Why are you here?"
Ally's dad seems to remember something. "Ally, can you go get some food for lunch for me? I can't leave the store because I'm expecting a call from someone."
Ally nods. "Okay, dad. I'll see you later, Austin." She then waves to me, and I wave back. She leaves, closing the door behind her, and once we couldn't hear her footsteps, Ally's dad turns to me.
"So, are we planning the party now?" he asks me. For Ally, I wanted to plan a surprise party for her birthday tomorrow. But, I wanted it to be from all of her friends and her dad. My actual birthday present for her would be something different that I know she'll love. I thought of it a month ago and I planned it then; I knew at the moment that she would love it. I just hope that my present will be here on time.
"Are Trish and Dez here?" I ask.
He nods. "They're disassembling some old instruments as we speak."
I nod, but when we realize what he just said, our faces wash with worry as we hastily run outside the practice room and downstairs to see how badly they were killing each other with the instruments. However, when we take a look at them, they seem to be disassembling the old instruments peacefully.
But, it seems like I jinxed it, because Trish exclaims, "No, Dez! You're doing it all wrong!"
"What do you mean I'm doing it all wrong?!" Dez exclaims. "I actually know how to take apart things. It's the first time for you!"
"So?" she scoffs. "At least I can listen to directions that Ally's dad gave me!"
"No you can't!" he shrieks.
She tilts her head to ponder, but then says, "Okay. Fair enough. But that doesn't mean I'm doing it all wrong."
"Yes it does!" he exclaims. Then, he takes her hands and leads them to the instrument in an attempt to show her how to do it. Helping her, he unscrews the screws and gently takes apart the violin. Once he finishes, he smiles at her and says, "See? That's how you do it."
Their hands are still together, but they immediately separate once Ally's dad exclaims, "That's how you disassemble a violin." Trish and Dez look at each other awkwardly, and no matter how oblivious Ally's dad is, I can't help but feel slightly enraged that he ruined the Trez moment.
"Why did you even ask us to take these violins apart anyways?" Trish asks, going back to normal.
"They're old, so if I reassemble them next month and advertise them as new, they wouldn't realize that they're dysfunctional!" We all shake out heads knowingly. Oh Ally's father. He's so cheap.
"Okay..." Trish says unsurely. Then, she turns to me. "Well, Austin, what do you need from us?"
I sigh. "Ally's birthday is tomorrow, and I was thinking that we could maybe have a surprise birthday party for her," I explain.
Dez beams. "Ooh, I love surprise parties!" he exclaims. "Can I be the person who's surprised? I'm very good at acting like I'm surprised." He then acts surprised, and Ally's dad and I laugh at that while Trish rolls her eyes.
"No, Doofus," she hits him on the shoulder. "Ally's doing that."
He pouts, holding his shoulder due to the pain she caused. "Poo," he says, disappointed.
"So, do we all agree?" I ask. "Are we doing it?"
"Will I have to do work?" Trish asks me.
"Will I have to spend money?" Ally's dad asks me.
I smirk at them and say, "Yes and yes." Hey, better to be honest than to have them pissed at me later.
They seem to ponder about it for a few minutes, and I look at them, hope shimmering through my eyes. I really hope they agree. I really want this party to be from all of us and not just me.
After a while, I sigh in relief as they agree to do it. Ally's dad glares and informs me, "You're lucky Ally's birthday is on a Sunday."
Trish's POV
Austin assigned us jobs yesterday, and he assigned me as the distractor. I'm supposed to get Ally out of Sonic Boom for approximately three hours so then Ally's dad can get the food, Dez can get the decorations, and Austin can set up the whole thing in Sonic Boom. When he first told me that I would be the distractor, I exclaimed, "How am I supposed do that?!" Austin told me to just take her on a shopping spree or something, but last night, I got a better idea.
I would pretend that I had a crush on someone.
It is absolutely perfect. I could have JJ wear a wig or something to make him not look like my disgusting brother, and then take a picture of him and pretend I have a crush on him. Ally would be curious and I could lie saying that I knew he worked here but I didn't know exactly where. Then she would have to follow me everywhere in the mall, and that would definitely take three hours. It is perfect.
It took a while to convince JJ to do it. After a few unsuccessful begs and pleads, I promised him I would buy him some magic stuff, and he automatically agreed afterwards. I mean, I have a job at a magic store; I get magic tricks for free, so I don't have to spend money on my annoying little brother. I made him wear a wig and stuff and took a picture on my phone. He still looked absolutely disgusting, but at least he didn't look like him.
I walk into Sonic Boom, looking at the picture once more. This plan just has to work. I can't see it failing.
It takes a few moments before Ally walks in, wearing a floral dress and a denim jacket on top of it. Her hair was also curlier than usual; she obviously curled it. I smile and shake my head knowingly. Of course she would try to look a little bit prettier on her birthday.
"Hey there Ally!" I exclaim happily.
She look at me and smiles. "Hey there Trish. What's up?"
"Ally, I know it's your birthday and everything," I start, initiating my plan, "but there was this guy that I saw in the mall and we started talking and stuff and I think I have a crush on him."
"Aw!" she fawns as expected. "That's so cute! What does he look like?"
"I took a picture," I tell her, showing her the picture of my brother on my phone. Her face scrunches as she looks at it.
"He looks familiar," she informs me. I have to refrain myself from widening my eyes when she says that. Did she really catch onto my plan? That quickly?! But then I sigh in relief as she says, "Yeah, I definitely saw this guy before. The hair kind of gives it away."
Good, I think. She doesn't expect anything. "I know he works here," I continue, "but I have no clue where. Mind helping me find him?"
Ally laughs and says, "Of course. It would be my pleasure to! I mean, my best friend asking me for guy advice doesn't happen every day. But, what happened to Dez?"
I roll my eyes and tell her, "I've never liked Dez."
She looks at me in disbelief and says, "Mmhmm." I look at her seriously. Where did the idea come from that I like Dez? I mean, it's true, but... It's complicated.
"Can we just go now and drop this whole Dez conversation?" I ask in exasperation, throwing my hands into the air. "I mean, I like someone else!"
She rolls her eyes and says, "Fine. My best friend has a crush. My best friend has a crush, she teases, before adding, "Come on, let's go."
We start to walk through the mall. We go to the food court first, then Melody Diner, then all of the carts on the streets (though I make sure to avoid the Cellphone Accessory Cart at all costs), then we go to all of the restaurants (and inside the kitchens to make sure he isn't a chef (well, he's nonexistent, so he isn't...)), then we go to the rental places, then we go to the clothing stores, then we go to the food stores, then we go to the furniture stores, and lastly, we stop by at Megaphone World.
But I flinch once I see Dez instead of "my crush".
What is he doing here?! He's not supposed to be here right now! I check my timer app on my phone. We have an hour left. So what is he doing here?
Ally obviously finds this funny, attempting to hold in her laughter as she exclaims, "You know, we never found your what seems to be imaginary crush, but we found your real crush, Dez!"
I scoff and tell her loudly, "He is my real crush, okay?! He's just not working today."
Ally turns to me before squealing. "You just admitted that Dez was your crush! EEEEEEE!"
I shake my head and guffaw, hoping that I'm not blushing right now. "Ally, for the last time, I do not like Dez that way. He is not my crush. I was talking about my other crush, okay?"
"Which is nonexistent! Which is nonexistent!" she teases yet again, and I feel the urge to glare at her.
"Hey you guys!" I look up to see Dez, smiling and waving at us. He is still here? Why is he still here? Why is he here period? My eyes then widen as I realize something. Did he hear the conversation between Ally and I? Oh crap.
Ally smiles at the tall redhead and says, "Hi Dez. What are you doing here?"
"Oh, nothing," he says a bit awkwardly. "Just perusing around this place, you know?"
He then looks straight at me with a slight glare, which I don't understand. What did I ever do to him? Why is he glaring at me?
For once, I did absolutely nothing and get punished anyways.
Dez's POV
*a few moments ago*
"I'm back with the decorations!" I cry into Sonic Boom. At the party decoration store, I bought a whole bunch of amazing decorations. I bought so many tigers, lions, and zebras, and I also bought a unicorn and a rainbow pinata. I think Ally will love my taste of decorations. I chose the absolute best thing that the store had, so she better be appreciate it. No, I take that back. She will absolutely love it.
Austin runs up to me and says, "Great! Ally's dad already came back with the food. Put down the decorations on the counter."
I do as he asks, setting down the bag filled with party decorations on the counter, and then walk up to the table that's already set up with chips and start chewing a few. Sour cream and onion, I identify, internally nodding in approval. I haven't had chips for such a long time; I've really missed them. They taste so good in my mouth right now. They're so crunchy and salty... Internally, I congratulate Ally's dad for having a good taste in party snack and food.
Austin walks up to the plastic bag I set down and opens it. His face then scrunches up in disgust once he sees the party decorations. I'm so confused right now. What's so bad about them?
"Dez, really? Zebras? Lions? Tigers? And a unicorn?" Austin asks me in complete disbelief.
"I also got a rainbow pinata," I tell him innocently. I mean, the rainbow pinata's going to be the best part! You're smacking a rainbow with a stick until candies come out! I then slouch, feeling guilty. Poor rainbow.
Austin sighs in defeat, shaking his head. "Dez, just telling you, we're only using these decorations because we don't have enough time and money to get new ones. We only have an hour and two bucks. But next time we have a party, don't buy these decorations. They're disgusting."
I pout and then point out teasingly, "If they're so bad, why are they sold in a party decoration store?"
Austin scoffs and shakes his head. "Okay, next time, I'm just not going to trust you to get party decorations." I pout. My decorations are quality decorations. He just has no taste.
Austin then starts setting up, inviting me to set up along with him, but I just grab more chips and continue eating. I haven't ate lunch yet, and it's already 3:00 PM. I honestly didn't even realize how hungry I was until now. My stomach starts to growl, and I immediately grab some more chips, munching on them until I halt, watching someone I didn't expect come in. Trent. Why is he here?
He walks up to me. "Hey Dez," he says.
I glare at him and inform him, "If you want to see Trish, she is not here right now."
"I know," he chuckles. "I'm here for you. Besides, Trish is too busy trying to hunt down her crush with Ally right now."
I nod, before realizing what he just said. I have to refrain myself from widening my eyes. Trish is hunting down her crush? What about us? Did she just lead me on? "Oh. Well, then, what do you need?"
"I want you to help me find him," Trent says. "I mean, you like Trish, right? You should figure out who your competition is."
I glare at him. "What's the catch?"
"No catch," he reassures me. "We're both going to find Trish's crush, together. If one of us finds him, then we'll text the other guy info about him."
I nod, still feeling apprehensive. "Okay. But then why are you doing this? This can't just come out from the kindness of your heart - well, there's no kindness in your heart. So why are you doing this?"
He sighs and tells me, "I feel guilty about, you know, everything. I thought maybe this would help repay for everything bad I've done to you guys."
I nod. I'm not accepting his apology or reparation or something like that, but I might as well take him up on his offer. "Okay then. I can't forgive you, but I guess this is a good place to start. What's your plan?"
I can tell that he's relieved, because he sighs in relief and his face rolls back and morphs into a smile. "Yo go to the west side of the mall, and I'll go into the east. Whoever finds him first will text to details to the other guy?"
"How will we know if it's him?" I ask him.
He gives me a pointed look and says, "Oh, you'll know."
It then hit me. I can picture it in my head: Trish flirting with the guy she has a crush on and the guy kissing her on the cheek. I feel myself getting nauseous as I think about it. No, I have to tell myself. Don't throw up. That would be a waste of chips eaten.
I nod and say, "Okay then. I'm going to try to find him now. I'll talk to you later."
He nods, and then we both leave Sonic Boom, without me first telling Austin where I'm going and waving goodbye. We both then go our separate ways. I first go to the farthest place to Sonic Boom: Megaphone World, deciding to go towards Sonic Boom instead of away from. When I walk in, however, instead of seeing Trish's crush myself, I see Trish.
Oh crap. I'm screwed.
Automatically I think about leaving; if Trish catches me here, she'll probably beat me up to the point that my bones are shattered (I mean, she's petite, but she's strong - ahh, one of the things I love about that woman). But then I start thinking differently. Maybe if I stayed, then I could find out who her so-called crush is. And I can also berate her about her leading me on! That's absolutely genius!
Trying to be as discreet as possible, I walk up slowly to Trish and Ally. Once I'm finally close enough to not be full-out screaming at the duo (well, which would happen anyways, considering that this is probably the loudest store in the mall due to all of the megaphones), I say, "Hey you guys!"
They both turn to me, and Ally is the first to react to my presence. She smiles and says, "Hi Dez. What are you doing here?"
"Oh, nothing," I say, trying my best not to be my usual awkward self (which probably failed anyway). "Just perusing around this place, you know?" I then send Trish a small glare. I don't know whether she caught it or not.
"Same here," Trish says. Then, she adds, "Hey, Ally, can you go for a sec? Dez and I need to talk for a second."
Okay, either she caught the slight glare or she wants to beat me up for being here in the first place.
Ally looks at her strangely, but then beams and nods eagerly. "Yes! Of course! I'll just be on the other side of the store spy- err, I mean looking at other megaphones. Yep. I absolutely love megaphones. I'll see you two later!"
She then walks away, and Trish and I chuckle.
"She does realize how blatantly obvious she is, right?" she jokes, smiling.
I nod. "Of course. But it's so mean to spy on people. Why would she do that?"
Trish rolls her eyes and shakes her head, scoffing slightly. "Oh, come on. Everyone spies on other people. I bet you've done it, too."
I shake my head, even though I probably did spy on one person before. "Why did you need me?" I ask, desperately trying to change the subject.
"Why did you glare at me just now?" she exclaims. I didn't expect her to come out right with it, but hey, she's just naturally blunt like that, so I really should've expected it.
"Why did you just lead me on?" I exclaim back.
She looks at me with complete shock. "Excuse me?"
"A little birdie told me you have a crush on someone else," I tell her, to which her jaw drops. I take a deep breath before continuing. "I mean, we kissed! Two times already, for the matter! Were you just playing with my little heart? Is that why you would never date me? Because you never actually liked me?! How could you, Trish?!"
She recovers from her shock after my outburst, and her faces looks furious right now. "I lied, okay?! I don't have a crush on anyone but you! I had to be the little distractor for Ally's birthday party, so I thought that this was a good idea! What's the problem with that?"
I immediately feel dumb after she says that. Oops. "So, you don't have another crush?" I ask to clarify. "You only like me?"
"Did you hear me, doofus?" she asks me in disbelief. "Are you deaf?"
I shake my head and say, "Yes I heard you. And since I like you and you like me, we should go out. What do you think?"
She shakes her head hastily and rigorously. "No. No, no, no, no, no. No."
I look at her with complete shock. "Why, Trish? I thought we liked each other! Why can't you just agree to go out with your crush? It worked out with Austin and Ally. Why can't it work out with us?"
"I told you!" she exclaims, throwing her hands in the air. "My parents divorced, okay?! I can't take this right now!"
I shake my head. I really can't believe her right now. "You're just depriving yourself of happiness, you masochist!"
"Ooh, masochist. What a difficult word. I mean, it's hard to think that you know that since your brain is completely dysfunctional at the moment," she taunts angrily.
I glare at her and tell her angrily, "You know, if you can't go out with me, how am I supposed to believe that you actually like me, huh? How am I supposed to believe that you're not playing with me and my fragile heart?"
She looks at me with anger and disbelief, yelling, "You're supposed to trust me, Dez! Isn't that what relationships are built on? Trust?"
I roll my eyes and shout angrily, "How can I when you're not willing to date? I mean, it may just be the circumstantial moments right now, but I'm sick of this entire thing!"
She scoffs, taking a deep breath and saying as calmly as she can, "You know what? I'm done with this. Ally and I are going to get some smoothies at the food court. Don't you dare try to follow us right now, okay?"
I nod angrily, and as she leaves, I yell, "I wouldn't want to anyways!" I then sigh and run my fingers through my red hair. Ally and Trish talk for a short while, before leaving the store. I look after Trish with mixed emotions. I have no idea how I'm supposed to feel right now.
Ally's POV
"Did you like your smoothie?" Trish asks for the third time as we are walking to Sonic Boom. After her conversation with Dez, she seems to be a bit on edge. Plus, she's smiling more than she usually does. What happened in that conversation? She wouldn't tell me, and I bet that she'll never tell me. I really want to know what happened! If my best friend is sad, I really want to know what went down in that conversation! And besides, it's my birthday today! I even reminded her about that at least ten times while trying to convince her to tell me about the conversation! But of course that failed.
I chuckle before telling her, "Yes, I loved the smoothie. It was super good."
She smiles. "That's good."
We then arrive at Sonic Boom. The lights are off, and I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. Why are they off? We haven't closed yet.
Trish and I walk in, and as we do, the lights burst on and I hear a loud, "Surprise!"
I immediately look up to see Austin, Dez, and my dad popping out of nowhere. It immediately clicks in my head that I'm having a surprise party. I start to shriek with happiness. They would do that for me? I can't believe it.
I smile. "Thank you guys. It means you would do this for me."
My dad walks up to me and says, "Of course! It's your birthday after all. We had to do this for you, Alls."
"But it was Austin's idea," Dez adds, "so thank him for it. We just helped him achieve it."
I smile at Austin, walking up to him and hugging him. "Thank you so much, Austin. I love you so much."
He pecks me on the cheek and says, "I love you too. But note the decorations were Dez's idea, not mine."
I look around the store to see a whole bunch of lions, zebras, tigers, and a unicorn. Plus, there is a rainbow pinata set to the side instead of being hung up. I laugh. That's so Dez.
"I don't mind," I reassure Austin with a whisper. "Besides, I'm pretty sure someone is happy with the unicorn."
"Thank you!" Dez exclaims, and we break away from our hug after that. "See? My decorations aren't bad! Someone enjoys him!"
Trish laughs and says, "Dez, I think she was talking about you when she said that."
We all laugh at that, but I catch Trish and Dez giving each other a small glare. Did they make each other mad in that conversation? I guess they did, but what happened in that conversation? I just really want to know!
"Want some cake?" my dad breaks the ice, motioning to a pickle-garnished small cake. I smile.
"Yes!" I exclaim. My dad then slices it into five slices and gives one to each of us. I take a fork and take out a small piece of it before biting into it. My eyes close in complete bliss. Mmm. Vanilla. Plus, the pickle just works perfectly with the vanilla flavor.
Trish's face contorts into an unreadable emotion as she says, "You know, the cake would taste ten times better without the pickles on it."
"Well then give them to me!" I exclaim. She nods and passes me the pickle, and I eat the pickle in less than five seconds. The pickle is so much better than the cake...
After we finish the cake, everyone gives me their gift. I didn't expect to get gifts; honestly, I thought the party was gift enough and I don't need anymore. However, when I relent, they insist, so I basically have to accept them.
Dez gives me a replica of his robot he used on his finals, which I honestly think is amazing since I loved his robot in the finals and, with the help of Dez, I can program whatever I want in it. Trish gets all of us an audition for an acappella group in Boston if we all get into our favorite colleges, which are all close to Boston; I think that's pretty cool because we all can still see each other, even though we all want to get an apartment together anyway.
However, Austin admits his still hasn't come yet.
"It'll be here in a minute, don't worry," he throws me a reassuring smile.
"Don't worry, I trust you," I tell him.
After a few seconds, he looks outside and says, "It's here."
I look at the door, and once his gift walks through the door, I gape in complete shock. He did not just do that for me.
So, that was the chapter. Hahaha I got all of Team Austin's POVs! (Austin, Trish, Dez, and Ally, in that order) There was some more Auslly cuteness and some Trez drama. Whose side are you on: Trish's or Dez's? And what do you think Austin gave Ally as her birthday gift? Do you think she took it well or not?
Anyways, if you guys could review, that would be amazing. If I could hit 200 reviews this chapter, I would be the happiest girl alive. 200 reviews would be just amazing. Please? Thank you guys for reading, and I hope you enjoyed it!
