"hey Jake, Rachel come on in." Charlie said nervously. Jake and Rachel found their father at the dinner table and found Paul at the stove. "I didn't know you cooked." Rachel commented as she stood next to paul. "their are a lot of things you don't know about me Rachel." Paul growled as he wiped his hands on a towel. "well who pissed in your coffee." She snapped "you did rachel ,you did i-" paul stopped and sniffed. He took a step toward Rachel and sniffed again. Suddenly he stepped back as if he had been slapped. Paul looked hurt. Really hurt. He looked away from Rachel and said "…I hope the men that touched you in ways you would never let me…know just the cold witch they were screwing"
Rachel did not respond. Jacob was going to speak but then he heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
" Paul? Can you give Ahanu his bottle? I give Hani his but you know Ahanu loves his uncle paul."
Jacob felt his heart skip a beat when he heard the voice. Jacob stood, his chair falling behind him. The footsteps stopped on the edge of the stairs and Jacob couldn't breathe. He slowly, oh so slowly looked up and met her eyes. And his world fell apart. She was here. But she was so different. He took in every detail of her body. He started at her toes. She wasn't skinny anymore. Her hips were round, her breast were bigger and when he got the neck. He noticed the scars. The bites, the missing arm and then he saw her face. The slash marks across it. Her beautiful face. It was worst than Emily's, but Jacob couldn't help but think she was still beautiful. He didn't realize he was right in front of her now, breathing in her scent. "Bella. Bells?" he croaked. His hands were hovering over the side of her face. Charlie took the baby out of her arm. But neither one them broke eye contact.
"Jake. Jacob" she said as if she was seeing the sun for the first time.
When she said his name, Jacob walls crumbled. Every lie he ever told himself about being over her fell to the ground. He couldn't fight it, he didn't want to . He swiftly connected his lips to hers and lighting crashed through his body. He could feel it run though her too. Den. Mate. Alone. Mine were the words his wolf chanted in his head. Ignoring everything and everyone, he ran to the forest. There lips still pressed togather. No one would take her away from him again . no one
