Not a Crybaby Ch. 23

A/N: So I am alive, but y'all knew that, right? It's the holiday season and you know what that means? YEAH! Being at my aunt's house with no desire to actually do anything sociable! So that means I'll be attached to my laptop with getting updates out hopefully for both Christmas as well as New Years Eve (Like how last year I updated Too Late-for NCIS, but still)! so anyway, ENJOY!

. . .

"Now, let's talk about what happened."

. . .

Usagi allows herself to be lead into the apartment by Ami and maintains a friendly relationship with the white tiled floor. Her feet almost drag until she realizes the fact her shoes are still on her feet as opposed to have being left at the door. She stops and makes move to remove the articles of footwear before Ami turns around. "Don't worry, Usagi-chan. The cleaning lady will be here tomorrow.

"A-are you sure?" The blonde's voice is quiet and unsure. After her unexpected fight with Mamoru she feels as if she cannot trust her own words. "I can just take them o-"

"It's fine, Usagi-chan."

Ami's words bite in the air and the small girl in front of her flinches. Her composure softens and she reaches toward her friend. She did not want to scare the girl, just make it apparent it does not matter if the floors end up dirty. Not when it looks like her leader is going to burst into tears. "G-gomen, Usa-chan."

The blonde nods and puts her foot back down. "Arigato for allowing me to stay with you, Ami-chan."

Smiling, the blue haired girl takes Usagi's hand and pulls her farther into the apartment. "Anything for a friend in need." The duo remains in silence for a minute as Ami searches her head for the right question to ask her friend. Their feet quickly approach Ami's bedroom. She stops-almost causing Usagi to bump into her. "Did something happen between you and Mamoru-san?" The girl asks, turning back to the blonde.

"S-something like that." Usagi knows she cannot very well divulge her new identity she has discovered. And that identity is pretty much what caused the fiasco.

Ami narrows her eyes before turning back around to her door. Usagi's words are vague and it is quite obvious the girl is hiding something. Except Ami cannot see why. Everything has been going great. Usagi has managed to have her parents drop the search. The senshi are slowly becoming a family. And finally, the blonde has met the love of her life and was living with him.

Was is the operative, word though.

Once they enter the room Ami settles Usagi onto the bed and perches on the desk. "Do you care to explain? What could have possibly happened between you and Mamoru-san? You two are so perfect for each other it makes the girls sick!" The blue haired girl remembers how she acted with the girls at the ball.

With every movement Usagi and Mamoru made the girls would giggle and pretend to choke.

Usagi sighs and leans back a little, moving her eyes to the ceiling. "I-I don't know. It just all sort of happened. It was the last thing I could have expected tonight-especially after...this afternoon." Her brain turns to watching her parents being manipulated by Naru and Zoisite. Even if they cannot be good parents all the time-there is no way either of them deserve to feel the wrath of the Dark Kingdom.

"So you just decided to leave Mamoru-san's warm apartment and make your way over a dozen blocks in the rain to see me?" Ami tsks and shakes her head. "I'm flattered, Usa-chan. But I think Mamoru-san is more your type."

The blonde pouts and turns her attention away from the ceiling and back toward Ami. "It's not like that! Ami-chan! Listen to me!"

Ami's hands fly up. "G-Gomen, Usa-chan. I was simply trying to make a joke."

Usagi sighs and kicks her shoes off before bringing her knees up to her chest. "I know, it's just. It's just complicated, a bit. I didn't want it to end up this way." She sniffs and uses the back of her hand to wipe a tear away. Everything was going perfectly...until.

Until the damned dream.

The blue haired girl furrows her eyebrows together. "What happened, Usagi-chan? What's complicated. You two were fine just a few hours ago when we all parted ways."

"Yeah, that was before-"

Biting her tongue, the blonde curses herself in her head. That was a bit too far for comfort. Only a little picking of her head and Ami will without a doubt be able to start piecing things together. Some days the blue haired girl is far too smart for Usagi.

Ami moves away from the desk and approaches her friend. "What happened Usagi-chan?" Her words are vague and can only possibly mean one thing. The Dark Kingdom.

Usagi breathes out, her breath catching with the exhale before she looks up to meet Ami's eyes. "I maybe sort of decided I wanted to go back home." Her words are rushed and her eyes quickly revert to the bedspread.

"N-Nani?"

. . .

"You have failed me, Zoisite."

The blond man nods slowly. "H-Hai, Beryl-sama." He bows deeply, trying to avoid the angry gaze of the queen in from of him. A look from her when she is mad is anything but pleasing. Her eyes when angry are closer to what nightmares are made of. Nothing all too pleasant.

Queen Beryl watches the hesitant movements of her general before waving her hand. "That is all."

Zoisite looks up, taking a chance. This is all? But I thought I was to be killed.

"Naru-san will be directing your future exhibitions for the Silver Crystal. She is far more reliable."

He nods once, grateful to have been given a second chance. "A-Arigato, Beryl-sama. You will not be disappointed."

. . .

The rain has ceased, the clouds starting to separate to reveal a brightly lit crescent moon. All around the city, the rain pools into puddles. Nobody is outside. No, everybody is inside their homes-most people sleeping. There is no need to pay attention to the city outside.

All the better to arrive in town in.

A girl, clad in black, kicking her kickstand down. The engine of her motorcycles roars once before fading out as the girl applies the break. She uses one of her stiletto covered feet for leverage as she reaches up to remove her helmet.

Blonde hair cascades down, slightly damp. Her bangs are pulled back by a bright red ribbon. Her blue eyes, rimmed with heavy black eyeliner, give the area a once over before she nods. "Yep, of course the Dark Kingdom would latch on to a place like this. Little Shits."

. . .

A/N: And we have Minako! Sorry this took so long, it should have been up yesterday-but my parents kicked me off the computer 3 paragraphs before I was done. Something about me needing to bake cookies. -_-
