A short chapter this time, sorry guys.
Last time on Deity: Jean loses control and Lilly comes into contact with a force known as the Phoenix.
Chapter 21- New Mission
A few days had passed since the incident and everything was going by very well. Lilly and Remy were growing closer and closer. They even went on a double date with Jean and Scott. When she wasn't with Remy, she was hanging out with Rogue, Jean, and Kitty. One night, Professor Xavier called the X-men into his office. They all assembled there, ready and waiting.
"Thank you all for coming. I have two things I need to address. First is the official new edition of two X-men, Gargoyle and Deity. You've come to know them as Hidashi and Lilly though. I believe that they have come to prove themselves very capable teammates. The second order of business is that we have another situation on our hands. The group that had kidnapped some of us and experimented on Lilly have not disappeared as we had expected and hoped. During the experiments, they also collected some of Lilly's DNA, and are now trying to infuse it with other mutants. Attempting to get the same results, no doubt," Xavier explained.
"So let me guess, we're going to infiltrate this place?" Logan questioned.
"Yes, we are. But we have two objectives. The first is to free any captured mutants. The second is to get in and corrupt any data they have on Lilly's DNA. We cannot allow them to use any more of it on experimentation. Logan, Jean, Lilly, and Ororo, you will free the mutants on the Eastern side of the facility. Scott, Rogue, Hidashi, and Bobby, you take the West. Remy, Kitty and Kurt, I want you three to infiltrate the information and do whatever needs to be done to destroy it thoroughly. Hank and Piotr, I want you two to help me hold down the fort here," Xavier commanded.
"Jus' one ques'ion," Remy said.
"Yes Remy?" Xavier asked.
"Is dis de only place t'ey have her information? Or do we need t' look deeper?" Remy questioned.
"After a thorough investigation, we have discovered that this is, in fact, the only facility with that information. It seems they are doing this of their own accord," Xavier answered.
"Zat makes zings easier vor us," Kurt said.
"We all still need to be on our guard though," Scott said.
"Exactly," Xavier agreed.
"When will all of this take place?" Lilly asked.
"Two days," Xavier replied.
"Two days?" Kitty exclaimed. "Like, that's totally not enough time."
"Yeah Professor, how are we gonna prepare?" Rogue asked.
"Look kiddos, sometimes you ain't gonna get time to prepare. You need to be ready to move at a moment's notice," Logan stated.
"They know, but I believe something of this caliber is a little new to them. I think we should all take advantage of the day and a half we have left," Ororo said.
"Ororo's right, so let's get going guys," Jean said, ushering everyone out of the office.
For the next day and a half the team packed what they needed, trained where they could, studied the blue prints and did everything else they needed to do to prepare.
