A/N: …..All I can say is...oops?

Sakura leaned against the high fence surrounding the school roof as the cool winter wind blew through her hair, her hands clawed onto the criss-crossing metal. Her eyes were closed as she reveled in the feeling of being so free. It felt so nice to be free. She breathed in the cool air and breathed out a puff. When was the last time she felt so free?

She opened her eyes and looked over the horizon as she came up with the answer.

Before her parents' deaths. And maybe even a little after her sister had been able to finally adopt her. Or when Mari was born.

Sakura leaned her head against the fence as she closed her eyes again.

In that moment, she realized that those moments had only been fleeting moments of freedom. Childish innocence. A moment of fleeting victory. The birth of someone else she could lose.

Her fingers subconsciously tightened around the fence as her face scrunched up with old despair.

But now? This feeling of freedom, she could tell, was long-lasting. It was the feeling of true freedom. Freedom from her past, freedom from her feelings, freedom from her twisted worries.

Sakura felt a protective warmth surround her as a gentle hand covered hers and carefully untangled it from the metal. She opened her eyes to watch how kind and caring the hand was. She registered the strong arm around her waist.

And who was the one who was able to grant this freedom of hers?

She turned her head to look up behind her to see her patient and unexpected savior.

Who would've guessed that the class' aloof prince could be so thoughtful and caring?

With that thought, a giggle escaped, causing said savior to look down at her with a raised eyebrow. Sakura only giggled again and finally let go of the fence to turn around and lean her back against it, breaking out of Sasuke's gentle hold.

It was true. Sakura often forgot that her savior was a part of many girls' fantasies.

Sakura cocked her head slightly as she studied the face of her savior. He raised an eyebrow to silently ask what she was doing, but she said nothing.

He didn't fidget as he felt her eyes trace his facial features slowly, from his tall forehead framed by bangs parted down the middle, to his dark, onyx eyes, his tall, straight nose, thin lips, and chiseled jaw.

She could definitely see why the girls fawned over and yearned after him. He was definitely one handsome fella. But for some reason, she never really cared to think about it until now. Sure, he caught her eye when the year started, but she never thought that much about him afterward, except for the fact that he was really smart and really quiet. So quiet, that she really forgot that he was there sometimes, if not for the fact that their female classmates gossiped about him constantly.

Sakura reached up with a hand and traced a finger along his jawline, from his ear to his chin. She watched her finger as it slid down before looking up into his depthless eyes.

They stared into each others' eyes for a little while longer before Sakura broke the silence. "Tell me more about your childhood and what happened after your parents passed away." Her voice was barely above a whisper. She hadn't meant to speak that softly, but that was how it came out.

Sakura watched as Sasuke reached up and held her hand to his face as he leaned into it with his eyes closed. Her heart skipped a beat and she didn't know why. But that was not important right now. What was important was offering as much help to Sasuke as he did to her.

She could tell that he was still trapped by what had happened in his childhood. She just didn't know how.

Sasuke took a deep breath to ready himself. He was pulling these memories from deep within his mind.

"Like I told you before, I don't remember much, I was just so young." His eyes, which were downcast just a moment ago, suddenly shined with a spark of childish innocence. "But the other day, aniki brought me to this small Italian restaurant a few stations down. When we were standing outside, it looked a little familiar but I didn't know from where. That is, until I tasted the sauce."

Sasuke pulled Sakura's hand from his face but didn't let go as he took a hold of her other hand and just held it between them. "I recognized the taste of it and I told aniki this and then he told me that it was our mother's favorite restaurant and that we used to go there every now and then before."

A small smile spread across his face and his eyes sparkled at the small achievement. Sakura couldn't help a smile from appearing on hers either. Sasuke just looked so precious right now. "Tell me more," she coaxed.

"He told me how I used to get the sauce all over myself and that our father would scold me with his eyes while our mother would coo over me." Now he sported a light blush. Sakura had to refrain from cooing over him, herself. "I can only vaguely remember the many times we've been there. But from that, I remembered how strict my father was and how lenient my mother was. I have a feeling that they played good-cop-bad-cop many times before on poor unsuspecting salesmen."

Sakura giggled at that thought. Now that thought reminded her of how her mother would just downright threaten the salesperson if they even tried to overcharge them.

"What else do you remember?"

She watched as his eyebrows carefully furrowed in the middle as he tried to dig up more memories of when his parents were still alive. Even though he had been really young when they had passed, he was sure that he should still be able to remember more things but found that he really didn't remember anything else.

"Nothing. That's all I can remember." He seemed a little frustrated at himself.

Sakura let go of one of his hands and reached up to slide a finger down the middle of his eyebrows, unfurrowing them for him, then her finger continued down his slim nose until she playfully flicked the tip. She let out a small laugh at the subsequent expression he made.

"Uchiha-san, it's alright if you don't remember."

Her words were meant to soothe him but somehow she saw a devious glint in his eyes.

She raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Are you still going to call me by my family name? Even after you've met my brother?"

Sakura nodded, there was nothing wrong about it.

"Really? How are you going to differentiate between the two of us then? When you're talking to your brother-in-law?"

She stayed silent. He had a point there...

Sasuke leaned in and all but whispered, "Say my name."

Sakura didn't know why but she felt a blush crawl up her cheeks and slowly take over her face. "Uchi-."

"No, Sakura, my given name."

A shiver ran down her back for no apparent reason other than the fact that no one, other than family, has ever called her by her given name. And to hear it roll of his tongue so easily, though it was really the first time he ever called her by her given name, she hadn't expected it to sound so good and so unexpectedly intimate, especially with no honorific attached to it.

She was suddenly really shy. When was the last time she felt like this? Back when she was a little girl and had just started school?

"Sasu-," she stopped, seemingly unable to finish saying her savior's name. The look in his eyes gently encouraged her to continue, but the teasing look behind it wasn't helping.

She couldn't stop the pout from forming or the chuckle from escaping Sasuke. After a quick breath, she readied herself for another attempt and was successful this time around. "Stop teasing me, Sasu-Sasuke," her face became inflamed before she quickly amended, "Sasuke-san."

He rose an eyebrow at her.

"Sasuke-kun?" she tried once more.

This time, he smiled at her without inhibition.

Sakura returned his smile shyly before laughing at his simple desires. Needless to say, Sasuke joined her and their combined laughter soon filled the empty rooftop with its infectious sound, sweeping away the slightly-somber mood from before.

It felt so good to be free.

A/N: I'm pretty sure that a lot of you guys just went "FINALLY!", lolol. Yes, Sakura has finally called Sasuke by his name. I've always found that part endearing in mangas, when a boy and girl get close enough that the boy wants the girl to call him by his first name and not his last name. It's quite a big deal in Japan, to be called by your first name, or they call it their given name. It it usually only used by family and close friends, other than that you'd be addressed by your family name. Ah, the hierarcy of honorifics is also quite interesting.

- san → strangers/acquaintances

- chan → close friend that's a girl. It can also be used for little boys.

- kun → close friend that's a boy. It can also be used for a girl who's a tomboy

- sama → someone that is respected, like someone in a higher position

- sensei → teachers, doctors, etc.

If any of these are used in conjunction with the family name that means you are still putting a polite distance between you and them, if they're used with the given name that means that you two are closer. If no honorific is used then you two are REEEEEEEEALLY close, like a family member or a childhood/long-time friend.

LOL! I'm pretty sure that you guys weren't expecting a crash course in Japanese honorifics and/or most of you guys probably already knew everything. But meh, it just happened XD.

But okay, enough of that. I hope you enjoyed the chapter!

Thanks for reading and please review!
