Substitute Cedric
It was sorcery class time at Royal Prep.
"Okay class, let's try that spell one more time." Flora declared.
"Bounciclius." Sofia waved her wand at the marble in front of her, which started bouncing. "Oh, I did it!"
"Bounciclius!" Madeline chanted, gaining the same result.
"Bounciclius!" Desmond tried it, causing his marble to break in half. "It split in half..."
"Bounciclius!" James and Amber said together, to no effect.
"It won't bounce!" James groaned.
Meanwhile, Vivian was having the same problem.
"Bounciclius. Bounciclius! Bounciclius!" She groaned. "Oh, I give up. I'm terrible at magic!"
"Good try, everyone." Flora smiled, as she and Fauna levitated the marbles into a basket, then sent the basket away.
"You can practice more tomorrow." Fauna added.
"Although we won't be here." Flora declared.
"We won't?" Fauna asked.
"No, we'll be at the United Fairy Teachers meeting." Flora announced.
"We will?" Fauna asked.
"Yes." Flora nodded. "Which is why you arranged for a substitute teacher to teach tomorrow's sorcery class."
"I was supposed to do that?" Fauna gaped.
"Oh, dear." Flora frowned. "How are we going to find a substitute sorcery teacher by tomorrow?"
"I have an idea, Miss Flora." Madeline held up her hand. "Maybe our royal sorcerer Mr Cedric can teach the class?"
"Oh, what a wonderful idea!" Fauna smiled.
"Yes, he's really good at teaching magic." Sofia declared.
"He helped us earn a gold star." Madeline added.
"Do you think he'd do it?" Flora asked.
"Oh, we're sure he'll love to," Sofia nodded.
A little later, Cedric had the opposite opinion.
"Sounds absolutely dreadful." He declared, working on a concoction in his cauldron. "No thank you."
"Please, Mr Cedric?" Madeline pleaded.
"Can't you see I'm busy brewing an important potion?" Cedric added the contents of a beaker to the cauldron.
"Yes, but it's only for a day." Sofia declared. "And we could learn so much from such a great sorcerer."
"That's just it." Cedric growled. "No-one thinks that I am a great sorcerer."
"We do." Madeline smiled.
"Well, no-one besides you two." Cedric shrugged. "Which is why I am brewing a potion which will make my face appear on every mirror in the kingdom, so all will behold my true greatness... whenever they fix their hair."
Cedric made to empty a small jar, but found there was nothing in it.
"Oh, I'm all out of vex vines!" He groaned. "Without it, I can't finish my potion!"
"You know, we have vex vine in our school greenhouse." Sofia smiled.
"You do?" Cedric gasped.
"Uh-huh." Madeline nodded. "You could pick some right after sorcery class tomorrow."
"Yes, I suppose I could." Cedric grinned.
"Great!" Sofia beamed.
"So we'll see you tomorrow?" Madeline asked.
"Yes." Cedric nodded. "Tomorrow it is."
"Thanks, Mr Cedric!" Sofia and Madeline called as they left the workshop.
"Wait." Cedric froze. "Did I just agree to teach a class?"
Wormwood cawed irritably.
The next morning, Cedric made his way into class and cleared his throat.
"Good morning, class." He declared.
"Good morning, Mr Cedric." The students chorused.
"Today, we are going to learn how to sit at our desks and be quiet for an hour." Cedric declared.
The class muttered in disbelief.
"Huh?"
"What?"
"I don't get it."
"What's he talking about?"
"I am going to the greenhouse, and then I'll be back to check on you." Cedric made to leave.
"But Mr Cedric, wait!" Sofia called. "You're supposed to be teaching us magic."
"Yes, well, think of how magical it would be if you all sat there without making a peep." Cedric smirked.
"We started learning a bouncing spell yesterday." Madeline declared. "Maybe you could teach us that?"
"Oh, alright." Cedric groaned. "Easy enough."
Cedric returned to his desk and pulled out his wand. The basket of marbles flew over.
"Here we are." He said flatly, floating the marbles over. "These should be good for beginners. One for each of you. Just point your wand and say the magic word: Bounciclius!" Cedric's marble started bouncing. "Now you try it."
Most of the class said the spell, but only Sofia and Madeline were successful. Vivian, meanwhile, hadn't even tried.
"Vivian?" Sofia asked. "Aren't you going to try the spell?"
"I tried yesterday, Sofia." Vivian sighed. "I'm just not any good at magic."
"Well, it looks like you could all use some practice." Cedric put his wand back up his sleeve. "So I'll leave you to it."
"Wait, Mr Cedric!" Madeline called. "Can you show us how to do the spell again?"
"Oh, alright." Cedric groaned. "I'll show you the spell one more time, and that's it!"
Meanwhile, two boys and a girl, all wearing blue robes were standing above the stables.
"This gonna be so much fun!" The girl giggled.
"Shh!" The red-headed hushed. "You'll ruin the surprise."
They rushed across the rooftop, and spotted Minimus.
"Whoa, is that a purple horse?" The chubby boy asked.
"Elliot, stay focused. "The red-head ordered.
"Right, okay." Elliot nodded, pulling out a wand. "Ready to prank!"
The other two drew wands also.
"On the count of three." The red-head declared. "On, two, three!"
"Penurious poolica!" They chorused.
A green cloud appeared, raining confetti. The spooked horses flew off.
"The horses!" Sir Gilliam gasped.
"It's Hexley Hall prank day!" The red-head smirked.
"Ooh, when I catch you kids-look out!" Sir Gilliam ducked as a horse flew over him.
"Better catch your horses first!" The girl taunted.
The Hexley Halls kids ran off, laughing.
Back in the classroom, Princess Penelope watched as her marble flew around her.
"Um, it's not supposed to do that, is it?" She asked.
"Bounciclius!" James waved his wand, causing his marble to shoot up through the ceiling. "Whoa! It kind of worked."
"What is the problem?" Cedric groaned. "It couldn't be more simple!"
"Try it, Vivian." Sofia urged.
Just as Vivian lifted her wand, the laughter of the Hexley hall students filled the air.
"Do you hear that?" Madeline asked.
The Hexley kids ran into the classroom.
"Floatzippa!" They chorused.
The entire class, plus Cedric, floated up into the air.
"Yes!" The girl cheered.
"Nice on!" Elliot smiled.
"Wait, I know those robes." Cedric realised. "You are from Hexley Hall!"
"The sorcery school?" Amber asked.
"You know it." The redhead smirked. "I'm Kurt, and this is Elliot."
"And I'm Amy." The girl added. "Happy prank day, everyone!"
The floating students started spinning.
"Prank day?" Sofia asked.
"What's prank day?" Madeline added.
"One day out of the year, Hexley Hall students come and play tricks on Royal Prep." James explained.
"Yes, it's been happening ever since I was a young Hexley Haller." Cedric said fondly.
"One year, they turned the school upside down." Amber recalled. "It took weeks to get everything right-side up again!"
"And that's nothing compared to what we're gonna do today, miss princess!" Amy smirked.
"Yeah!" Elliot laughed. "At noon, we're gonna fill your school with so many bubbles, it'll float!"
The students were distraught.
"Bubbles!"
"No!"
"Not again!"
"It'll be lunchtime at Hexley Hall." Kurt made a drawing of their school appear on the chalkboard. "Everyone will be outside."
"And Royal Prep will float up so high, they'll all see our prank." Any grinned.
"That's awful!" Madeline gasped.
"No, it's awesome!" Kurt sneered.
"It'll be the best prank ever!" Elliot added.
"And we'll be the best prankster ever!" Amy grinned, as they put their wands together.
"Come on." Kurt told his friends. "I have the hankering for more prankering."
"So do I!" Elliot grinned.
"Float ya later!" Amy told the students, as they ran out of the classroom. She stopped, and waved her wand. "How about a little faster?"
The students started spinning more rapidly.
Amy followed her friends into the hall.
"These paintings are missing something." She declared. "Moustachio!"
The three young sorcerers put moustaches on all the paintings.
"We sure surprised them!" Kurt smirked.
"Ooh, ooh! I've got a good one." Amy waved her wand. "Slick and slippery make this hall, so those who go here slip and fall!"
The wall was covered in a slippery substance.
"Best pranksters ever!" Kurt declared.
"Aw, yeah!" Elliot agreed.
Back in the classroom, everyone was still spinning.
"Mr Cedric!" Sofia yelled.
"Help us!" Amber urged.
"Floatzippa, undippa!" Cedric waved his wand.
They all stopped spinning, and returned to the ground.
"Mr Cedric, you have to stop them!" Madeline announced.
"And why would I do that?" Cedric asked. "When I went to Hexley Hall, I used to look forward to prank day all year. They'll just play a few harmless tricks, and then they'll be gone!"
"But that bubble prank isn't a harmless trick!" James protested. "It could close Royal Prep for months!"
"If it doesn't ruin the school forever!" Amber added.
"Well, that's not really my problem." Cedric shrugged.
"Yes, it is." Sofia retorted. "The fairies aren't here, which means you're in charge."
"Besides, how will it look if a royal sorcerer can't even protect Royal Prep?" Amber asked.
"From a bunch of kids?" James added.
"Especially when it would be so easy for you to stop them?" Madeline declared.
"Oh. Yes, I suppose you're right." Cedric admitted. "Sit tight, kiddies. I will handle this!"
As Cedric left the classroom, he slipped on the floor.
"Whoa!" He yelped, crashing into a wall.
As Cedric recovered, he heard more yelps coming from a nearby classroom. He peeked inside, seeing that the floor had risen into bumps, and professor Popov and his students were bouncing up and down on it.
"Ah, the old trampoline floor trick." Cedric sighed nostalgically, before catching himself. "Oh, right."
As Cedric waved his wand, the Hexley Hall kids floated onto the scene.
"You look like popcorn!" Amy taunted their victims.
"I'm afraid there will be no more pranks today." Cedric declared. "Disappearo!"
The classroom floor returned to normal.
"Hey!" Elliot yelled.
"Now run along back to Hexley Hall." Cedric told them. "Prank day is over."
"No way!" Kurt retorted. "We're not going back 'til we've done our bubble prank!"
Kurt brought back the trampoline floor.
"Perhaps you didn't know that I am a royal sorcerer." Cedric boasted. "And if I say prank day is over, it's over. Stickflayva, wilayva!"
A stream of magic came out of Cedric's wand.
"Look out!" Kurt yelled.
Amy caught the stream in her wand.
"Got it!" She smirked.
"Take that!" Kurt lifted Cedric into the air.
"What shall we do with him?" Amy asked, looking around. "Ooh, let's stick him in that chair!"
Elliot brought the chair over.
"Even better, let's stick him to the chair!" Amy smirked, waving her wand at Cedric. "Here's your sticky spell back: Stickflayva wilayva!"
Cedric was planted firmly in the chair.
"Rolldeo!" Amy added.
The chair rolled off down the corridor, slamming into a wall. Kurt then conjured up a funny hat on Cedric's head.
"Ohh, Merlin's mushrooms!" Cedric groaned.
"That was too easy!" Kurt sneered.
"Some royal sorcerer you are!" Elliot taunted him.
"You're even worse than that Cedric guy in Enchancia!" Amy added.
"I am 'that Cedric guy in Enchancia'!" Cedric growled.
"That explains it." Kurt grinned. "Let's go. Come on, Elliot!"
Elliot stopped to conjure up a beard and moustache on Cedric's face.
"There, that's better!" He chuckled.
"Ooh, I'll get you, you little pranksters!" Cedric yelled. "Oh, Neptune's nettles!"
Cedric's groan could be heard back in the classroom.
"It sounds like Mr Cedric needs our help!" Sofia declared.
"Everyone, grab your wands!" Madeline added.
"Alright!" James grabbed his wand.
"Uh, okay." Desmond agreed.
"But you guys, we're not any good at magic." Vivian pointed out.
"She has a point." Amber admitted.
"It's our school." Sofia announced. "We have to try and protect it!"
"She's right." Madeline nodded. "Come on!"
As they ran outside, they slipped on the floor.
"Look out!" Sofia yelped.
"I can't stop!" James yelped.
They all crashed into the wall.
"Children, I could use some help!" Cedric called from across the hall.
"Ooh Mr Cedric, what happened?" Madeline asked.
"There were too many of them." Cedric declared. "And they got me with a sticky spell. I can't even flick my wand!"
"We can get you unstuck." Sofia held up her wand. "Just tell us the spell!"
"Ohh, it's no use!" Cedric groaned. "Only an advanced sorcerer can undo a sticky spell."
"Well if we can't get you free, how are we going to stop those pranksters?" Madeline asked, taking off the hat.
"We're not going to." Amber sighed.
Just then, they heard cries for help coming from Popov's classroom.
"I'll show those magical brats not to mess with a royal sorcerer." Cedric growled. "I'm going to teach you all a spell that will save the school."
"You will?" Amber gasped.
"What spell?" Madeline asked.
"The Disappearo spell." Cedric smiled. "It'll make their bubbles vanish into thin air!"
"Brilliant!" James smiled.
All you do is flick your wand like so." Cedric tried to demonstrate, but couldn't, due to his arms being stuck. "I'll just tell you then. You flick your wand sharply, and say 'Disappearo' in a clear, confident voice."
"That's it?" James asked.
"Yes, that's it." Cedric nodded. "Now go ahead, try and make those bubbles disappear. Go on, those wands won't wave themselves."
Sofia took a deep breath, and walked over to a painting.
"Disappearo!" She chanted. The moustache flew off the painting. "Oh, I didn't do it right!"
"Disappearo!" Desmond tried, getting the same result. "Oops."
"Disappearo!" James waved his wand. The moustache disappeared. "Ha, got it!"
The moustache appeared on Amber.
"James!" She gasped.
"Sorry." James cringed. "Dis-disappear!" Amber's moustache grew bushier. "Disappearo!" The moustache grew longer.
"Oh, you're making this worse!" Amber groaned. "Get it off, James. Now!"
"Hmm." Cedric groaned.
Outside, the sorcerer trio were in the clock tower.
"Hey you guys, I can see Hexley Hall from here!" Elliot pointed.
"That's the idea, remember?" Amy declared. "Everyone from Hexley Hall will come out for lunch and see Royal Prep float away."
"It's almost noon." Kurt noted. "Let's get started."
"Yes!" Amy cheered.
"Bubble time!" Elliot whooped.
"Floatzippa!" The trio floated downwards. Sir Gilliam rushed over.
"Oi, you there!" He called. "Stop this pranking at once!"
"Sorry, we're having too much fun." Kurt made Sir Gilliam float up toward the bell tower.
"Whoa, wait, no!" Sir Gilliam yelped. "Put me down!"
"We will, sir." Kurt grinned. "When we're done with our prank."
Meanwhile, the others were trying to disappear the moustaches, save for one...
"Vivian, why aren't you trying the spell?" Madeline asked.
"Because I know I can't do it, Madeline." Vivian sighed.
"We'll have none of that." Cedric said sternly. "We need all the help we can get. Wand up, Vivian!"
"Okay." Vivian walked over to a painting. "Um... Disappearo." The moustache stayed where it was, and the painting gained a beard. "See? I'm terrible at magic! I'm sorry, but none of us can do the spell. We may as well give up."
"Nonsense. When I first got to school, I couldn't do the Disappearo spell very well." Cedric admitted. "Or most of the other spells, come to think of it. But my teacher taught me the sorcerer's secret."
"What's the sorcerer's secret?" Sofia asked.
Cedric: When I first began to learn the ways of sorcery
I quickly found it wasn't the easiest course for me
I blew things up, then burn them down
Made water float, then nearly drowned
I wanted to run and hide
But my teacher taught me a sign and said
The sorcerer's secret
Is never giving up the fight
You must keep trying till you finally get it right
Learning magic can be tricky
And occasionally sticky
So don't you ever forget the sorcerer's secret
The sorcerer's secret
"Now give it another try, princess." Cedric urged.
"Disappearo!" Madeline pointed her wand at a moustache, but missed. "Disappearo!" She missed again. "Disappearo!"
She finally hit the moustache, and it vanished.
"That's it." Cedric smiled.
"Disappearo!" James pointed his wand at Amber, who flinched. Nothing happened.
"Try again." Cedric urged.
"Disappearo!" James repeated. Amber's moustache vanished.
"Well done!" Cedric applauded.
"Disappearo!" Amber made a moustache vanish. "Yes!"
"Now, on to the trampoline floor!" Cedric declared.
They made their way back to the room with the bouncing students.
"Disappearo!" Sofia, Madeline, Amber, James and Desmond chanted.
All but one of the bouncy bumps vanished, professor Popov still bouncing up and down.
"Now you try it." Cedric told Vivian.
"Disappearo!" Vivian waved her wand, causing the bumps to return. "I'm just making things worse!"
"But you see..." Cedric started.
Cedric: The sorcerer's secret
Is never giving up the fight
You must keep trying till you finally get it right
Royals: Right
Cedric: Learning magic can be tricky
Royals: Tricky
Cedric: And occasionally sticky
Royals: Sticky
The kids pointed their wands at the class, removing the bumps.
Cedric: If you put in lots of practice
I know your surely gonna crack this
It's a simple lesson
You should never forget the sorcerer's secret
Royals: Secret
Cedric: It's the sorcerer's secret, sing it
Royals: Secret
Cedric: It's the sorcerer's
All: Secret
Sofia made Cedric's beard and moustache vanish.
"Well, someone's catching on." Cedric smiled.
The bell of the clock tower began to ring.
"Oh, no." Sofia gasped. "It's noon!"
As the figures came out of the clock, Sir Gilliam was trapped among them, trying fruitlessly to get free. At the same time, the Hexley kids came out of the bushes.
"Let's do it." Kurt grinned.
"Bubble, bubble, let's make trouble." They all waved their wands together. "Fill this school, on the double!"
A stream of bubbles flew out of their wands. The Royal Prep kids watched from a window.
"Here come the bubbles!" Desmond gasped.
"We'd better hurry!" Madeline declared.
"Open the windows!" Kurt declared.
With a wave of her wand, Amy opened all the windows.
Elliot ran around, waving his wand, which sprayed out bubbles, and laughing.
"Elliot!" Kurt and Amy groaned.
"Sorry!" Elliot apologised. "I like bubbles!"
Elliot joined the others.
"Bubble, bubble, let's make trouble." Amy chanted as they all waved their wands together. "Fill this school, on the double!"
The bubbles started streaming into the school. Meanwhile, the Royal Prep students snuck up around the side.
"You know what to do." Sofia whispered.
One by one, the students waved their wands and said "Disappearo" making the bubbles disappear.
"Oh, uh... Disappearo!" Vivian waved her wand at a few bubbles. Instead of vanishing, the bubbles grew bigger. "Oh no, I'm making the bubbles bigger!"
"Disappearo!" The others chanted, making more bubbles disappear.
"Hey, stop popping our bubbles!" Elliot yelled.
"No way, prankster kids!" Madeline yelled. "This our school, and we aren't going to let it float away!" She waved her wand at the bubbles. "Disappearo!"
"That's what you think." Kurt sneered, using magic to knock the wand out of Madeline's hands.
"My wand!" Madeline gasped.
"Leave my sister alone!" Sofia yelled, before her and the others' wands were knocked away too.
"Bubbles and wind combine to form, a giant blusterous bubble storm!" Amy waved her wand, carrying a whirlwind of bubbles that carried the Royal Prep students up into the air.
"Ah!" Sofia and Madeline gasped.
"I can't see!" James yelped.
"Not the bubbles, not the bubbles!" Amber cried.
Vivian watched from the side, shocked.
"That'll stop ya from popping our bubbles!" Amy taunted.
"And it's easy to make more!" Kurt added, as they conjured up more bubbles.
"Ohh..." Vivian cringed.
"Let's go inside and make more bubbles." Amy suggested. "That'll float the school quicker."
"Good idea." Kurt agreed, using his magic to open the door.
Meanwhile, Vivian watched her friends spin around.
"I have to get them out." She declared.
Vivian walked over to the swirl of bubbles.
"Disappearo..." She waved her wand. A small stream of magic leaked out. "I have to remember the sorcerer's secret: Keep trying until I get it right... whenever that is. Disappearo!" Another tiny stream. "Disappearo!" A stronger stream hit the bubbles, but nothing happened. "Disappearo! Disappearo! Disappearo!"
The whirling bubbles slowed down, bringing the others back to the ground, before vanishing.
"Vivian?" Madeline gasped. "Did you just do that?"
"I did." Vivian smiled.
"Whoa..." James gaped.
"Impressive." Amber admitted.
"Yes, great job." Desmond added.
As they picked up their wands, Cedric rolled out of the school.
"Mr Cedric!" Sofia gasped.
"I keep trying like you taught, and I did the spell!" Vivian cheered.
"But popping the bubbles isn't enough." Madeline pointed out. "They just make more."
"We need a spell that can stop those pranksters once and for all." James declared.
"What about the Bounciclius spell?" Cedric suggested. "You could bounce them right back to Hexley Hall."
"Great idea, Mr Cedric!" Sofia beamed.
"Uh... Except none of us can do that spell." Amber pointed out.
"Sofia and Madeline can." Vivian replied.
"Yeah, but... it'll take more than just the two of us to stop the three of them." Sofia declared.
"You're right, princess." Cedric nodded. "So you two will have to teach the others how to do the spell."
"You want us to teach them?" Madeline asked. "But we just learned it ourselves."
"You already know the magic word, 'Bounciclius'." Cedric told them. "All you have to do is show them how to flick their wands just right. I know you can do it. Just remember the sorcerer's secret."
"Okay, we can try." Sofia nodded.
"And keep trying." Cedric reminded her.
"We will." Madeline smiled. "Now gather round, everyone. We don't have much time."
Meanwhile, the trio of sorcerers succeeded in filling the school with bubbles.
"Yes!" Amy cheered, as they ran outside.
"Awesome!" Elliot grinned.
"The school!" Sofia gasped, as he entire school started to rise up.
"Royal Prep is floating away!" Kurt jeered.
"That's it!" Madeline yelled. "I've had it with those prankster kids!"
"Me too." Sofia agreed. "Come on, everyone!"
The Royal Prep kids rushed over.
"Prank day is over." Madeline declared. She and Sofia waved their wands at Kurt and said "Bounciclius!"
Kurt bounced up into the air, dropping his wand.
"No!" He yelped. "Stop!"
"Bounciclius!" The others waved their wands, but the streams petered out half-way across the ground.
"Why don't you leave the magic to us, kiddies?" Amy taunted. "Let's show 'em how it's done, Elliot!"
"Try again!" Sofia told the others.
"Bounciclius!" The others chanted.
This time, the spell worked, and Amy and Elliot started bouncing too. The Royal Prep kids cheered.
"Yes!"
"Oh, yeah!"
"Nice!"
"Hey!" Amy yelped. "Put us down!"
"Not until you promise to go back to Hexley Hall." Madeline declared.
"And never play pranks on our school again." James added.
"No way!" Kurt snorted.
"We have to finish our bubble prank!" Amy stated.
"It's already finished." Sofia smiled. "Guys?"
"Disappearo!" The kids waved their wands at the school, causing all the bubbles to vanish, and the school to drop back down.
"Nooooo!" Kurt and Amy yelled.
"Now do you promise to leave, and never prank us again?" Madeline asked.
"No." Amy refused.
"Then we'll just keep bouncing you until you do." Sofia declared.
The Hexley Hall students were bounced harder and harder.
"Okay, okay, we promise!" Amy groaned.
The Royal Prep kids lowered them to the ground.
"Oh, let's get out of here." Kurt sighed.
The young sorcerers ran away. At the same time, Cedric smiled proudly.
"We did it!" Vivian cheered.
As the kids rushed back to Cedric, the fairies returned.
"Children, what are you all doing outside?" Flora asked.
"Cedric, did they do this to you?" Fauna gasped.
"No, it was Hexley Hall prank day." Cedric explained.
"Help!" Sir Gilliam called, still stuck in the clock.
"Oh, Sir Gilliam!" Fauna gaped.
"Oh, my." Flora frowned.
Fauna freed Sir Gilliam, while Flora undid the sticky spell, releasing Cedric from the chair.
"Thank you!" Cedric smiled, as he stretched.
"I can assure you, the headmaster of Hexley Hall will hear all about this." Flora declared. "And those pranksters will be punished."
"They'd better be!" Sir Gilliam yelled as he was brought back down.
"But if you were stuck to the chair, who drove off the pranksters?" Flora asked Cedric.
"These fine young students right here." Cedric smiled.
"We couldn't have done it without Mr Cedric." Madeline declared.
"What are you talking about?" Cedric asked. "You did everything without me."
"He taught us all the spells, Miss Flora." Sofia admitted.
"And the sorcerer's secret!" Vivian added.
"Very impressive." Flora smiled.
"Only a great sorcerer could teach a spell without waving a wand." Fauna declared.
"You think I'm a great sorcerer?" Cedric gaped.
"The greatest sorcerer." Sofia smiled.
The others agreed.
"You're much better than I thought." Amber admitted.
"Yes, the greatest!" Vivian added.
"I guess you can go to the greenhouse now, Mr Cedric." Madeline declared.
"The greenhouse?" Cedric repeated. "Why would I go there?"
"To get your vex vine." Sofia reminded him. "Remember?"
"Oh, right." Cedric recalled, as one last bubble floated past him. "The vex vine. My potion..."
"Disappearo!" Vivian made the last bubble disappear.
"Oh, my potion can wait." Cedric smiled. "There are still a few spells I could teach you. What do you say, Princess Vivian? Are you ready to learn more magic?"
"I'd love to." Vivian declared.
"We can start with some potion making." Cedric stated, as they walked away. "And then we'll move on to my favorite: Turning rocks into ravens!"
