Ch. 21
Once they were safely out of the Earth's orbit Zim turned on the auto pilot. And stood up it had been so long since he even went out in his ship, but it was like riding a bicycle you never forgot. Dib starred out at all the bright stars, constellations and planets they passed in awe.
Gir did the same, he had his hands and face pressed against the glass with a wide grin. But Zim had other things on his mind as he completely ignored the beauty and vastness of space; he stopped in front of a mirror and stared at his reflection.
He smoothed down his tunic, pulled at his gloves, fiddled with the belt around his narrow waist and flicked his antennae's a few times. He wanted to make sure he looked his very best. Dib turned in his seat and watched Zim fuss over his uniform for a moment before he asked softly
"Nervous?" Zim sighed glancing over at him with a scowl "Zim doesn't get nervous Dib." Dib rolled his eyes and cocked a brow "Don't give me that Zim, I know you."
Zim sighed deflating slightly and slumped against the mirror "to be honest Dib-thing, it has been so long since I have been on Irk…So long since I've been before the tallest or around anyone of my own kind…" he paused as he leaned over the pilots chair and quickly checked their coordinate's
"and under the circumstance's Zim is terrified." Dib frowned sympathetically gently placing his hand on Zim's shoulder. Gaz spoke up loudly interrupting there moment with a sarcastic sneer "Yeah really impressive technology! This has got to be the slowest space ship I have ever seen! Can't it go any faster?"
Zim stood up quickly his antennae's going straight up in alarm, had forgotten she was there for a moment, "I can't engage hyper drive until we are a safe distance from the Milky Way galaxy, it might disrupt orbit." Gaz sighed in disgust crossing her legs as she resumed her game "Whatever…"
Dib couldn't help but smile at his sister's pouting. Zim even cracked a smirk; Gir jumped over to his master and clung to his neck with a happy shout "WEEEE HE HE HE! I love weddings!" Zim stumbled around as Gir grabbed his face and stood on his chest.
"DA DUM DA DA! DA DUM DA DA!" Gir sung jumping to the floor and dancing around pulling flower petals from his head and throwing them around. Zim scowled clenching his fists "GIR! SIT STILL!"
Gir cried out in his high pitched metallic tone flailing his arms around "WAAAAA!" Zim barred his teeth glaring down at Gir who had thrown himself on the floor kicking and screaming. Dib covered his ears with his hands amazed at how loud this robot could be.
He winced raising his voice as he spoke "Oh yeah what a nice relaxing ride Zim!" Zim rolled his eyes and pouted, this was going to be a LONG ride.
Red and Purple where now on irk, they had docked the massive to be repaired. And where currently sitting alone in a large conference hall at the largest building on their planet, the Planet Wide Convention Hall*.
The building itself was bubbly shaped, maroon and light grey. It had large bubble windows, and in the place of stairs was a large thin grey platform that hovered to where you wanted it to take you. The look was similar to the white house only twice in size. Most Irken rules, laws, and problems dealt with here.
Also where trials where held, where the control brains and the Tallest lived. Red and Purple paced the room in sync, the room was large, had high ceilings, monitors scattering the walls, the rug was dark maroon with a large irken symbol on it. it also had several couches, tables and etc.
Red sighed glad they were alone, "He's not coming Pur." He spoke in a wavering tone, plopping down on the couch. Purple whined sitting across from him, "I just don't understand red! Where is he?! How could Zim's signal on Earth just vanish!? And none of our technicians found his voot cruiser's signal anywhere!"
Red sighed gapping like a fish "it's like he just vanished…" he paused shifting around uncomfortably in his white robes, the Ondskan's where a very honorable race, regal and very strict. They had certain rules, laws and regulations. Most of the planet filled with royalty, the tallest had to show deep respect.
They didn't want to, but they had no choice, in order to unite there people and end this feud the tallest had to show the King respect or risk war breaking out once more. They had to do what was best for their people and swallow their pride.
And to show no disrespect Purple and Red where forced to give up their usual attire for clothing more appropriate, so no more hovering. So for now the two sat in white robes waiting for the new garments to be sent. Red stood back up when a knock sounded at the door "All we can do now is wait."
Purple stood back up as well when a female Irken seamstress walked in and bowed "My tallest, I apologize for the interruption but if you would come with me for your fitting." Red nodded "of course."
-A while later-
"Didn't take Gir long to calm down." Dib stated the obvious as he sat back down in his seat after getting a drink. They had been flying for a while now, of course it might not have been, but for Dib it was hard to tell how long it had been. Zim nodded not looking up from his book.
"It depends, you'd be surprised how long he'll keep it up, nut sometimes he'll have a fit for a moment then pass out." Dib chuckled "Gaz fell asleep to" nodding his head over at his sister who lay on the couch game station on her chest, Zim hummed not interested.
Dib looked over Zim's shoulder but didn't understand the language so he asked "what are you reading?" Zim glanced at dib closing the book "it is a journal I started when I first came to Earth."
Dib smirked shifting in his chair "Really?" Zim nodded opening to a random page and grinning "I just can't believe some on the things I wrote in here." Zim re-read a few lines and laughed out loud slapping his leg
"Oh irk! Right here I wrote: That filthy disgusting! Vial! Human worm baby Dib-stink! OHHH! He makes me so mad! Today he called the mighty Zim TINY! ZIM! TINY! Oh Zim cannot wait to conduct experiments upon his GIANT head!" Zim dropped the book as he hunched over in laughter.
Dib was in the same state, he hugged his torso trying to control his laughter. "you-You were so small! And! And!" Zim whipped at his eyes trying to stop Dib from talking but couldn't get the words out over his laughter. "And you always spoke in third person!"
Zim quickly stood up waving a hand at him "Shut up simple minded human Dib!' Zim stuttered through more burst of laughter, but he tripped over his own two feet. Dib quickly stood up and wrapped his arms around him to steady his balance "Careful!"
Zim let out a squeak as he placed his hands on Dib's shoulders and stiffened up. He stared up into Dib's hazel eye's…he had quickly forgotten how piercing they were. Dib stared back down at Zim, just now realizing how beautiful he was in the starlight.
Without thinking they both leaned in slowly. Zim's eye's snapped open with a gasp "I can't." Dib frowned as Zim pulled away from him with a blush and a sad frown. "What's wrong?" he asked as Zim turned away from him. Letting out a low sigh Zim sat back down heavily and stared up at Dib with a mixed expression
"I'm getting married Dib."
Dib flinched noticeably as Zim stood back up and strode over to his personal quarters for a moment alone
"We will be there soon Dib. You should wake your sister."
*= got to lazy to think of a better name...but you get the picture

I'm not changing who they are, but merely incorporating a realistic sense of what they would act like in this situation.
