Hey just a little note to say that from this chapter and over the next few chapters you will begin to see BIG similarities to the last episode of season one. The reason for this is that I thought the breaking of the curse would and should stay the same as it was on the show. I couldn't imagine it any other way and the lead up etc to it seems right to stick more towards the show. I have added in little differences of course, hopefully you can notice them as you read but a lot of it is from the show. But here it is the beginning to the lead up to Emma breaking the curse and I have a surprise in store of the character of Ellie. Enjoy!

A couple of months had passed. Regina had been out with Robin a couple more times, she had enjoyed each time but continued to keep their relationship a secret seeing it as the best thing for now. Things were slowly beginning to change in Storybrooke and both Regina and Ellie knew Emma was becoming closer and closer to breaking the curse. They could just feel it.

Regina and Emma still locked horns most of the time. Ellie had tried to keep the peace between them but it was harder than she thought it would be. Countless things had happened and it seemed most of the time things were beginning to get out of control and Emma was becoming more and more suspicious of Regina.

Regina was particularly angry with Emma today. Ellie had tried to calm her down but nothing seemed to be working. So they argued and Ellie had stormed out leaving her mother to get on with whatever she was going to do.

Regina had had enough of Emma Swan. She had reached her limit. So she had a plan, she always had a plan and this time it would work. She had baked one of her wonderful apple turnovers, a specialty of hers. However this apple turnover was not like her other ones. This one was laced with poison and this one was for one specific person. She would get rid of Emma Swan.

Emma was in her car on her way to Regina's house. She was sick of it all. She wanted to end this fight with Regina. She could see what it was doing to Henry. He hated them fighting. So she was ready to make a deal with her. She knew Regina would probably not be very happy with parts of the deal but she would put her foot down about it. She either took this deal or their fight would continue.

Emma pulled up outside Regina's house. Getting out she looked up at the grand mansion in front of her. She could never imagine living in a place like that. She quickly walked up the path and rang the doorbell. It was only a few minutes before the door opened revealing a confused looking Regina.

"We need to talk." Were the first words Emma said. There was no point beating around the bush. She wanted to get this over with.

"Yes I imagine we do." Regina said. She had not long finished thinking that she needed to call Emma and set the ball rolling on her plan and here she was stood in front of her. "I was just about to call you. Come right in." Regina said stepping to the side.

Emma walked into the house. She looked around her as she walked up the few steps into the front hallway. She had been in Regina's house before but had never really taken in the grandness of it.

"Do what you're so skilled at and make yourself at home." Regina said with a touch of sarcasm following Emma. She stood in front of her just staring. Watching as Emma looked around her. "I believe you came to see me…" Regina said wanting to start the conversation quickly.

"Right. Look." Emma started "This isn't easy…I think that this…whatever that is between us needs to end."

"At last something we can agree on."

"I wanna make a deal with you about Henry." Emma said firmly.

"I'm not make any deals with you..."

"I'm leaving town." Emma butted in.

"What?" Regina asked. She couldn't believe her luck. Was she really finally going to get rid of this annoying woman in front of her? Was she finally getting lucky in life?

"This…what we're doing is a problem. And I'm gonna go. But I have conditions. I still get to see Henry." Regina crossed her arms over her chest as she listened to Emma's conditions. "I get to visit and spend time whatever."

"And you get to see him, your still in his life." Regina didn't like these conditions. She wanted her out of their life completely.

"In any deal both parties are a little unhappy." Emma said. She could feel the tears welling up in her eyes but she swallowed them back. She didn't want Regina to see her as weak. "But let's be honest, we both know the world where I'm not in his life no longer exists and there's no one who can do anything about that."

Regina smiled as she thought over Emma's words. Oh yes there is. Regina nodded slightly. "Your right." She said playing along with Emma. "Would you mind following me for a moment?" Regina asked. She then turned on her heel and Emma followed her. The entered the kitchen and Regina picked up a tea towel and leaned down to the oven. She opened it and lifted out a baking tray with her apple turnover on it. "So what are you proposing?" She asked not taking her eyes off her apple turnover.

"I dunno." Emma replied. "Just figure out as we go."

Regina looked up at Emma. She sighed. "But he's my son."

They stared at one another for a moment. Both not sure what to say next. It was Emma who finally spoke through the silence. "Yea." She replied.

Regina smiled at this. That is exactly what she wanted to hear. Emma then turned about to walk away. "Oh Miss Swan." Regina said making Emma stop in her tracks. She turned round and walked back into the kitchen. She watched as Regina fumbled about, taking out a Tupperware box and turning back round to her. "Maybe a little something for the road." Regina said pointing to her apple turnover.

"Thanks." Emma replied.

Regina then turned a little to grab a knife so that she could cut some of the apple turnover for Emma. "If we're going to be in each other's lives it's time we start being civil." She placed half of the turnover in the box. "My famous turnovers." She placed the lid on the box and turned to look at Emma as she pressed it down, a small smile on her face. "Old recipe but delicious." Her smile grew a little more and she held out the box to Emma.

Emma looked down at it. After everything they had done to one another she wasn't sure whether to trust this woman. She was handing out baked goods to her and smiling, something must be wrong. She then looked up at Regina to see her looking at her, waiting for her to take the box. Looking back at the box she gave a little smile. "Thank you." She said. Perhaps she was just trying to make amends. She took the box and Regina smiled again.

"I do hope you like apples."

Emma wasn't sure how to reply so she just gave a little smile then turned on her heel and walked away from Regina. Regina just smiled as she watched Emma walk out with her apple turnover in her hand. Emma Swan said no one could do anything about her being in Henry's life, and Regina's thoughts to that were, I can.
