Bonnie's Baby shower. Hope you guys like it! :)
"God I hate bed rest." Bonnie yelled scaring the puppies out the room. "Four more weeks, just four more weeks." She told herself.
"You okay? You scared the puppies, Hercules and Meg just ran to the kitchen trembling." He told Bonnie as he walked into the room.
"I can't stand lying here any longer." She told him sitting up. "All I've done is lye here for the past month. I'm going to go crazy." She threw the blankets off the bed and made her way out the room.
"Babe. Babe. Babe." He protested bringing her back to the bed.
"I can't sit there anymore." She told him. "Please lets go somewhere, anywhere." She begged.
"Bonnie Bennett you can't be trusted." He chuckled. "Thank god I have my own business, and my brother works with me because if this was any other job I wouldn't be able to stay home with you."
"Baby I'm going to go crazy. Literally crazy."
"In a couple more weeks. We'll be in our new house with our baby and everything will be fine. Just be patient."
"All I do is eat and sleep. I'm getting insanely huge. The baby is already six pounds and I still have four weeks to go." She complained. "In the last month babies grow half a pound each week. Which means I'm going to be pushing an eight and a half pound baby out of my vag." She said vulgarly. "Thanks a lot Damon."
"Hey, its not my fault you couldn't resist the Damon Salvatore charm."
"Oh I resisted, and kept resisting." She said wagging her finger at him. "But then you decided to become my friend and become sweet and endearing. Then Halloween night you kissed me-"
"Oh we did more than just kiss the night." He smirked.
"Shut up." She scowled. "Stop trying to distract me."
"Babe you're not go anywhere." He said kissing her forehead. "Come on." He said grabbing her hand. "Dinner is ready."
"Thank you for taking care of me." She wrapped her arm around his waist and kissed his chest. "I love you."
"I love you too, baby girl."
"So are you excited for the baby shower tomorrow?" He asked her as they sat across from each other eating dinner.
"Yes." She said ecstatic. "Caroline hasn't showed me anything she wants to surprise me." She said bright eyed. "I know you think baby showers are a girl thing, but I would really like for you to come."
"Ahh." Damon protested.
"Please at least to open presents." She pleaded.
"Baby, I have a meeting with an important client I made months ago, and I've tried to reschedule it but it hasn't worked out. I'll try my best to get there as soon as I can."
"As soon as you can." She pouted.
"I promise." He told her.
XXXX
"You look stunning babe." Damon told her when she was finished getting dressed. Her dark hair was covered in curls that sprawled down her back and shoulders. Her make-up was very light because she was never one to wear a lot of make up, and her dress was a rose colored maxi dress that flowed when she walked. "Don't be mad at me." He mumbled against her forehead before kissing it.
"Too late." She said pushing him away.
"I promise to get there as soon as I can." He told her before she slipped out the door. Even though Damon told Bonnie he wasn't sure he'd be able to make it the baby shower on time night prior, he knew she was going to be upset with him. The more pregnant she became the more hormonal she got, but he couldn't blame her, but he also couldn't wait until she was back to her old self again. "I love you."
"I love you too." She told him. No matter how angry she became, or how much she didn't want to talk to him. She always said I love you back to him. It was impossible for her not to say it, and he knew that. He knew that was the only way he'd get her to talk to him.
"Okay." Damon exhaled as he parked in Rudy's driveway, in hopes everything will turn out the way he planned. Damon left Rudy a message telling him about Bonnie's baby shower last week, and how he was hoping he can make it, even asked him if it was possible to get Bonnie's mom to show up. He knew it'd mean a lot to Bonnie to see them both there, though she hasn't talked to her father in a couple of months and barley has a relationship with her mother. He knew she wanted their daughter to have her grandparents in her life, no matter how her relationship was with them.
"You must really love our daughter." Rudy told Damon opening the door before Damon was able to knock, with Abby by his side.
"So much." He said grinning from ear to ear when he saw Abby and Rudy standing in front of him dressed and ready to go.
"Our daughter is a lucky girl." Abby said trying to make conversation with Damon as they drove to the venue.
"I'm the lucky one." He told her. "Amazingly lucky. I don't think I could ever explain how much I love your daughter."
"You don't have to." She smiled. "We can already see it." She told him.
For a couple a minutes they drove in silence before Abby spoke again. "Damon." She breathed. "I know you're probably not my biggest fan, but just know I love Bonnie. When I had her I was young and stupid. I picked drugs over my own daughter and that's a decision I'll always regret." She explained. Damon just drove without saying a word, listening to Abby's story. He didn't feel sorry for her, but if Bonnie had the heart to forgive her then so will he, for her, for their daughter. "I wanted to make sure I was clean before I came back into my daughter's life." She sighed. "Really clean I didn't just want to come back into her life after a couple months of sobriety, I wanted to make sure I was stable enough to know I will never leave her again, and I'm finally at that point. It's been three years, and I want my daughter and my grandchild in my life."
"I wouldn't have brought her with me, if I didn't believe she was completely sober." Rudy told Damon. "I also wanted to apologize for the way I've acted these past couple of months. Bonnie is my only daughter and I'm very protective of her, I just didn't know what to do when she told me she was pregnant." Rudy hung his head in disappointment and sighed. "I was wrong, and I hope you have it in your heart to forgive me."
"I understand why you're so overprotective." Damon said. "I'll probably be the same way with our little girl." He told them.
"A girl." Abby said her voice full of emotion like she was about to cry.
"Aria." Damon said smiling. The thought of their daughter always brought a smile to his face.
"I can't wait to meet her." She smiled.
"Caroline." Bonnie squealed as they entered the venue she was having her baby shower in. The whole venue was covered in pink, lavender and mint green decorations, The same colors they were painting her room. "Its perfect." She said hugging her best friend tightly. "I can't believe you did all this."
"You really like it?" She smiled.
"Yes." She said teary eyed. "Its more than anything I could have ever have dreamed of."
"Great. Now come greet all your guest." She said grabbing her hand and leading her to the other room.
"Those cupcakes look amazing." Bonnie blurt as she was being dragged to the other room. "Can I steal-" Bonnie froze in complete shock when she saw who was standing in front of her.
"I wanted you to see your most important guest first." Caroline told her.
"Mom, Dad." She cried, hugging them. "I'm so happy you guys are here."
"You picked a good guy Bonnie. I'm sorry I've been such a jerk." Rudy wept. "I love you so much."
"I love you too dad." She said happily.
"You look beautiful honey." Abby said kissing her on the cheek.
"You too mom."
"Look at that belly." Abby said wiping her tears.
"We're all a big crying mess." Bonnie giggled. When Bonnie felt someone behind her kissing the top of head, she began to cry all over again.
"We'll be in the other room." Caroline said leading Bonnie's parents to the party room.
"How?"
"How what?" Damon chuckled.
" How am I so lucky to have you, what did I do to deserve all this?" She said wrapping her arms around his neck.
"I ask myself the same thing every morning when I wake up beside you." He told her before kissing her.
After playing a few party games, and eating dinner. It was time for Bonnie to open presents; she didn't know what to open first the room was filled with presents. She opened present after present happy with each and every one of them. When she reached Caroline's present, she didn't even have to read the card to figure out it was hers. Caroline's specialty was getting huge presents covered in brightly colored gift-wrap and a big bow. "There is so much stuff in here." She giggled.
"Open it." Caroline demanded.
She had enough clothes to last her the first year, just from Caroline. Elena and Stefan gave her, her first music box specially made just for her with a few pieces of jewelry she'll be able to wear when she gets older. Bonnie's parents gave them a framed poem about a grandparent's love, and typical clothes you'd get from first time grandparent's that said how much they will spoil her.
"Thank you for coming." She said as her last guest left. "This night was perfect." She told Caroline. "Thank you so much."
"You're welcome." Caroline said pleased with herself she wanted Bonnie to have the perfect baby shower and she did, and she couldn't be any happier about that.
"The boys are almost done putting all the presents in the in the car." Elena said pointing back towards the door. "You almost ready to go?"
"Yes." She told her. "I'm so tired I can't wait to go to sleep." She laughed.
"I can't wait to be pregnant." Caroline said rubbing Bonnie's belly.
"Oh trust me, you can wait. I love being pregnant, but its time for this little girl to get evicted." She told them making them laugh.
"One more month and we'll finally get to meet her." Elena said.
"I know it's so surreal." Bonnie said resting her hands on her belly.
"That it is." Damon added as he walked back into the venue.
"Just knowing that a little piece of us is going to be living life, just seems so crazy to me."
"How did this even happen?" He smirked.
"Oh you know exactly how it happened." She said playfully shoving him.
"That I do." He chuckled. "I love you." He whispered as he pulled her close.
"I love you more." She said before meeting her lips to his.
