The very first second you saw Dave leave, you ripped off all your clothes without hesitating and quickly ran into the shower, not worrying about the fact you were naked. You wondered what it was going to be like when you arrive back at school from hiding for a month; what are people going to say? What are they going to think? It didn't really matter to you, all it did matter was that you were going to reunite with your friends, being more comfortable around Dave, knowing that Terezi wouldn't come out and ambush you.

You felt like you were in one of those hipster romance novels. It felt amazing. It was Saturday, so the weekend would give you some time to relax in your house that hasn't been touched in a while. You wondered what the food in your fridge looked like since you were gone for a month and you kind of didn't want to know. You probably forgot to pay the electric bill anyway...oh well, you could possibly go out and get a job like Starbucks (In which was because a lot of people tend to go there often, so you could get a bigger paycheck.) or Hot Topic or something like that. You never felt this nervous in your life.

You turned off the tap, aware that the water bill might tower higher if you stayed in for longer periods of time. Quickly grabbing a towel, you stepped out of the shower and wrapped the piece of cloth around your body. You sighed as the once warm water suddenly turned cold on your body. You have to admit that you missed this feeling of your cold, damp, hair sticking to the sides of your face. As you entered your room, you found a note on your desk. You stared at it in confusion as you didn't remember having this placed on the desk in the first place.

[Name],

We heard you were institutionalized in a behavioral hospital and we couldn't help but write this to you to let you know how amazing you are. You have made us laugh, smile, and have hope, we hate to see you like this. Once you are reading this, we probably won't be here right now due to the fact that we just started working to pay bills for your home and for our things also. We know it's a little bit too much, but we can't help it. We worry about you. We're sorry for possibly worrying or bothering you and we're bad at writing long passages, so this was the best we could come up with.

Sincerely,

Gamzee and Karkat

And with that, tears slowly ran down your face in joy. Even if the note was short, it was sweet and heartwarming to you. You pulled out one of the drawers underneath your bedside table and acquired a tack, hanging up the note on your wall. You stepped back as you took in the view of the note where it was hung up, for some odd reason, it seemed to give you sympathy to have at least something hung up to discard the feeling of plain walls. You dropped the only article of cloth that was covering you as you slipped on your favorite sweater/shirt and pulled up your [Color] jeans. It was settling to have to finally wear what you wanted to wear instead of a plain hospital gown and wristband. Suddenly, the doorbell rang as it caused you to twitch a bit in surprise. Not wanting to deal with your hair, you grabbed a beanie to cover up your messy hair and headed towards the door. Knowing who it was, you turned the knob and opened the door as you were greeted by the usual shades and blonde hair.

"'Sup." Dave said as he held a carton of Starbucks in his hand.

"Hey!" you said as you pulled away a loose lock of hair from your face, "Come in." He then did as he was said as you closed the door. Placing the Starbucks on a nearby table, he took off his scarf and jacket. "It's eighty-two degrees out!" you exclaimed, "Do you have a fever?"

"Nah," Dave placed his outerwear on your couch as he pulled out a chair from the nearby table and sat down, "it gets pretty cold when you're riding a motorcycle for a while, so I wore extra layers to keep warm."

"I love it when you talk motorcycle to me." You said as you weren't sure if it was either a flirty or disturbing comment.

"Vroom vroom." Dave started making random motorcycle noises while cocking his eyebrow as you laughed at his immaturity, "That was so dumb, I'm never doing that again." He chuckled as he grinned.

"I've never seen you do something as immature as that in my life." You said between laughs.

"Oh hush, that was a highly mature move." He said as the two of you grinned at each other while softly chuckling.

"So anyway, how are things?" You asked as you pulled out a chair across from where Dave was sitting.

"I may ask the same for you." Dave said as he pushed in his chair while sitting down. You paused; how are things? You were fine, but you know that isn't specific enough. You gripped your coffee cup.

"I'm...content I guess?"

"You guess?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Things are going pretty great honestly," you added, "my friends care about me, I can finally settle back in my home," you paused, "only for a while though." Dave chuckled.

"Only for a while..." He repeated as it grew silent for a while, "things are cool back here, no one's burning each other's house down." It was your turn to chuckle.

"I'm glad our neighborhood can live together in peace without distress." You softly smiled as you took a sip of your coffee. The coffee had a hint of caramel, you weren't much of a fan, but it tasted somewhat good. "If I may ask, how are you and Terezi since you two broke up?" You asked without thinking. Crap! Why would you be asking this and why so suddenly?!

Dave paused for a while, "I do feel a bit unsettled ever since, but you're dealing with a lot more than I am and I think that matters mos-"

"No it doesn't!" You said as you felt your face grow a bit hot, "Just because I came out of a 'behavioral' hospital," you held back a few tears, "doesn't mean you should put my feelings in front of yours." He was a bit shocked at what you said, but his shades have hidden the emotion in his eyes. You bit your lip as you wiped a few tears, sniffing a bit, "I'm sorry.." You said. As of unexpectedly, Dave got out of his seat and hugged you.

"Please," he said, "don't be." You quietly sobbed as your face was hidden behind his shoulder.

"You guys were such a great couple..." You didn't lie when you said that, she seemed nicer around Dave and was more affectionate with him than any other. She was the kinder person than you were even around him. You felt selfish.

"We may have been a great couple, but that's only the past." He said, "This is the present now, I'm only worried about what's in the present." You gently took his hands and slowly put them to his sides. "Is there something wrong, [Name]?" Your cheeks were dusted with a light pink as it quickly disappeared like smoke.

"Y-Yeah I'm fine," you sat back down as you looked down at the floor, "I just want you to express your feelings more instead of mine." Dave sat down with you and sighed.

"Where do I start?" He asked.

"When you guys broke up, how did it go?"

"Well..." he paused, "the most of what I remembered since then was when I arrived at her house..."

"Yo, Terezi, I'm back!" Dave said as he dropped off the bags from the grocery store on the kitchen counter, an errand she asked him to run. He heard no response, which made him wonder; Terezi always responded to Dave when he came to her place, she never ignored him.

"Terezi? You there?" He listened closely to see if he could sense any noise. Nothing.

"Huh." He checked the bathroom, living room, basement, etc. but there was no presence nor any sign of her being there on the first floor. All was left was the second floor...Dave checked every other room on the second floor, though the only room (and the last room) that was left unchecked was the bedroom.

"Terezi?" He softly asked as if he thought she was sleeping. No response. He gently knocked on the door, but could hear nothing except for the slight giggling that was separated from the door that stood in front of him. Without resisting his impulse, Dave eagerly opened the door as it creaked underneath its weight. In revelation, he quickly shut the door behind him as he started to pant with deep dejection. He struggled to tone down his emotions as images of Vriska on top of Terezi flashed in his head.

"Dave?" Terezi asked with her voice slightly muffled behind the door as if he didn't witness what she and Vriska were doing.

Dave cleared his voice from cracking, "Yes?" He replied in a calm manner that masked his displeasure.

"Don't act cool with me," she said, "it's obvious that you caught us." there was a moment of silence, "I never liked you anyway, how you think you're a such a hotshot," she tched, "Gog, shades were only popular in the forties!" Dave showed no expression, she critiqued him on his ego and his shades to hide his birth defect left him speechless. There was nothing he could spit back at her, he cared about her so much, he could even imagine throwing an insult behind her back! Terezi smirked, "You're nothing but an idiot, you won't even fight back!" she said, "I only went after you for your looks and over the fact that you had money. Now get out of my sight, your presence is starting to annoy me over the fact that you cockblocked what Vriska and I were in the middle of. " Before he left, the last sentence threw him off. "It's not like you're any better in bed than her."

"That's all I remembered over the fact that I stayed silent and left." You could tell Dave was avoiding eye contact with you by his head angled in a certain place where you can only see his left profile.

"...That's low...comparing you to her lover..." You said with stern compassion.

Dave sighed, "Yeah, that's what I thought too." he faced in your direction as you got a better view of his beautiful, pale complexion, "But I can't seem to think that she's false..." This was a tricky topic to get into, especially with someone like Dave, you couldn't give him sympathy without making it sound sexual or perverted.

"Vriska's a different gender from you," you said, "she could've had more experience with sex more than you have." you continued, "Terezi is a lesbian too anyways, that means she's more interested in a female's sexual action more than a man's. It doesn't mean you're not good in bed. It could've been your first time, especially with a troll."

"I guess you're right." He said blandly.

'Guess?' It seemed like Dave was trying all he could to fight back tears due to his face seeming to heat up a bit and boost his ego. Did she hurt him that bad? Over the years, she only wanted him for money?! You were vying all the anger you had on the inside, but you couldn't help but feel rage heat up in your cheeks. She took him away from your life for almost five freaking years, left you depressed and traumatized in agony just so she could get his money and looks. You fummed on the inside as you wanted to give her a taste of what sweet revenge felt like. You can just smell it already.

"Dave?"

"Yeah?"

You patted his shoulder across the table, "I know this sounds like bullshit to you," you said, "but it's going to be alright."
