When do things ever go right?

"Uh..." Perfection was staring at the shield helicopter on Xavier's front lawn. "Let's see, that's Three Main stories and like Five mini stories. Man Fury is loosing his touch."

"I know right!" Deadpool was watching as well from inside a small portal. "Popcorn?" He offered from his bowl.

"Nah, time to play the black hat." Perfection grinned. "Wait, no..."

"You're a good guy here pardner." Deadpool drawled.

"Riiight!" Perfection nodded as he git up and closed the portal. He then strolled his way down the halls to Xavier's office and walked through the doors Kool-Aid Man style. "Oh YEEEEAH!"

"Thank you, Perfection." Xavier groaned. "Nick Fury, this is the one you wished to speak to."

"Nick Fury, Director of Shield." Fury stalked over to Perfection.

Xavier watched as Perfection brought his hand to his face as if he were watching a child walk for the first time. Xavier could only hold his breath for a moment as the Scion gave a mischievous grin.

"Do you know what these are?" Fury held out a picture of the Heartless.

"Heartless." Perfection smiled. "But that's not why you're here." He seemed to pluck at the air, the room filled with a high buzz as the Scion's eyes glowed. "Magneto's moving his civilians to Avalon."

"What?" Fury asked, a confused look across his face.

"That's why Genosha is a ghost island." Perfection smiled. "That's why you came here. That and to ask for the help of a Scion."

"Well yes, you see we have an agen..." Fury was cut off by a sharp laugh.

"No." Perfection kept smiling.

"Excuse me?" Fury blinked. "This mission is incredibly important it could mean the lives of thousands!"

"No, Fury it doesn't." Perfection grinned as the doors to Xavier's office repaired themselves immediately. Perfection's human form then began to flicker and Xavier recognized the blue fire like form that eventually took it's place.

"It means your agency has more power and more pull." Perfection's voice hissed all around the room as if coming from various objects. "It means you would claim to owe the Scions a favor and never repay the debt. I have watched you Fury and you take so much and give so little." The Scion seemed to grow and the minds of both Xavier and Fury were filled with the images of predators chasing down and killing prey. "I know your games little human, I have played them for an eternity more than I can stomach sometimes and I will not allow you to play them with my friends." The form was now hunched over and it's hands at either side of Fury now closed around the man. "Make your deals with Xavier and Hawk at your own peril for I may not be Balance but my wrath is unparalleled."

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Fury screeched and all at once the room and the Scion were back to normal. Fury did not ask questions he merely left in a hurry.

"What in the blazes!" Xavier yelled.

"I gave him a warning." Perfection smiled. "I doubt he'll listen but it won't be you that needs to be worried about his manipulations."

"What do you mean?" Xavier asked.

"Do you really want to know?" Perfection asked, a look of sadness plain across his face.

"Want to, no." Xavier admitted, "But I need to."

And Perfection told him of the War beyond the Heartless confrontation.

Later in another room at Xavier's...

Tim was watching the chess board that he and Rasputin were playing on carefully. He was never a fan of the game but Rasputin and Genghis had convinced him to try it out and attempt to beat them. Currently he was barely ahead. Remy was watching and Attila was reading the newspaper in a chair not far away.

"This is gonna be good." Remy watched from the couch. "You think he got a chance mon ami?"

Rasputin just grinned. "Tim's got a sharp mind, he just prefers to blow things up."

Tim made a move and Rasputin smiled as he made a counter-play.

"Damnit!" Tim snapped.

"Check mate." Rasputin grinned. "Best game yet." He offered his hand to Tim who shook it grudgingly.

"Well now I gotta learn this stupid game to kick your butt." Tim grinned devilishly.

"Gonna be a good game then." Remy smiled. "Move over I wanna play the Mad-Frog now."

"Mad-Frog?" Rasputin arched an eye. "Not too far off if I'm living here."

"OH MY GOD I'M GONNA KILL YOU BOBBY!" Jubilee's voice echoed through the mansion.

"NOT IF I KILL HIM FIRST!" Amara's followed.

The two came stalking into the front room covered in honey and feathers. Remy could barely keep a straight face, Tim was immediately rolling in laughter and Rasputin could only blink.

"Hey, 'Til, I think your gonna need to run soon." Rasputin said as he passed his friend, the girls were still stalking to the other side of the room.

"Oh?" Attila looked up. "You know I think we should go train for the day..." He saw the girls leave and he sprang from the chair.

"Oh don't tell me you two did that." Tim snickered.

"Got bored." Rasputin grinned.

"OH YOU HAVE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!" It was Bobby's voice now, only it was extremely high pitched.

"Gotta hop!" Attila grinned as the two ran off.

"This place getting' crazier and crazier." Remy sighed as he flipped a rook through his fingers absentmindedly. Then he got up and followed the honeyed steps of the girls. He was surprised to find that they split off just outside what used to be Roberto's room that he shared with Ray. He sighed and peeked in and Amara, still slightly covered in honey was staring around at Roberto's side.

"He gone petite." Remy said softly. "Professor still can't bring himself to pack the stuff away."

"Why did he betray us, how?" Amara asked.

"Remember what happened after Phoenix trashed that place?" Remy said, "The little things like that lady named Sage who come visit?" Amara nodded. "Well Remy heard her talk with the professor, she was a spy and managed to hide her real self under conditioning..."

"Nasty technique to use against people." Release came into view. "I've done it a few times to take a break from insanity when I've had a hell of few worlds to go through. No one could have found it unless they knew he was hiding it."

"I liked him." Amara blushed.

Remy just sighed and looked to Release. Release for his part walked and put a hand on Amara's face. The two stood silent for a few seconds before she shed a few tears, smiled and ran off.

"What'd ya do?" Remy asked.

"Mental grief counseling." Release explained. "Can get weeks done in seconds if you know what you're doing."

"You a tricky one." Remy smiled.

"Look who's talkin'." Release smirked. "Tell me you guys haven't encountered Sinister, yet have you?"

Remy froze. "How you know about him?"

"Gambit, I've been in realities where that son of a hell hound has beaten Apocalypse." Release grunted. "I know he's usually got some connection to you so I know you know about him."

"Not after he revealed himself. Only met his experiments, he been avoiding us directly." Remy nodded. "You know what my connection is here?"

"No, I don't need to know it." Release smiled. "Knowing him is often a torture in it's own right, you don't need anyone prying."

"Good." Remy nodded. "Now, you think you can help me get out of the Ninja Training?"

"Why?" Release scoffed, "You realize they can teach you some nasty stuff, right?"

"Like what?" Remy took his turn to scoff.

"How about how drain kinetic energy from physical attacks." Lady Shima said as she cause Remy to jump. Remy took the moment to think and the nodded as he followed the ninja.

In the silence of the room Release looked about and then focused on the closet. "You wanna come out?"

Batman stepped out holding several things. "Do you think she sensed me?" He asked, referring to Shima.

"Possibly." Release shrugged, "Ninja's are hard to judge. Did you find it?"

"No." Batman said. "He likely hid it or had it on him when he died. How did you find out about it?"

"Ray." Release said flatly. "Little to open with grief and anger in his mind."

"Did you tell Xavier?" Batman handed what he did find over to Release carefully.

"Not yet." Release shook his head. "Roberto's a sore subject from what I can tell. Hell I had to learn about him from Wraith."

"A student who was a spy..." Batman narrowed his eyes. "Xavier and the Hellfire club, they play dirty."

"Yeah." Release nodded. "Hellfire likes it that way though. Xavier despises himself every time he's forced to do so. That's the difference."

"Some would call the Hellfire Club honest about it." Batman grunted. "Then again secret societies are used to backstabbing and taking power. Protecting the world is harder when you're out in the open and not invulnerable."

Release just shook his head. "How's Flash holding out?"

"Fine, the Scions made it so he can tap into the Speed Force from here." Batman explained, then his voice softened. "How about you? The last time I saw you, you died to save Tim. Again."

"It's been rough Bats." Release sighed. "Been through some rough realities, including one where Supes went bad and it wasn't Justice Lord Territory."

"How bad was it?" Batman asked as they began to leave the room.

"Well let me put it this way: Harley is one of the good guys there and Diana went full psycho bitch." Release just sighed again.

"Excuse me?" Diana was out in the main room as the two walked in.

"Another you." Release explained. "She ran me through the goddamned sword."

"Gods." Diana gasped. "Did you survive?"

Release merely gave her a look. "I was bifurcated. Also Cyborg was there, put me through a wall or two dozen. That I did survive."

Just then Flash zoomed into the room. "You guys are not gonna believe this!"

"Try me." Batman and Release said at the same time.

"You know you become more like him every time I see you after a death." Flash grinned.

"You take that back!" Release snapped.

"Anyway, the GI JOEs, they've got some sort of life extending serum or magick in them." Flash smiled.

"You know you could have waited for us." Hawk said as he walked in with Xavier.

"I was just informed myself." Xavier said. "It's quite a tale."

"And a boon." Batman smiled. "The Water of Life makes you immune to the Heartless."

"How did you..." Hawk started.

"Batman." Release, Flash and Wonder Woman all said at once.

"He hacked you." Flash snickered.

"He did the research." Diana scoffed.

"He sure didn't ask me to read any minds around the Pit." Release whistled innocently.

"All of the above actually." Batman said. "I gave your tech specialists some ideas and tips to secure your information better."

Hawk glared. "If you weren't helping our world I'd have a much bigger problem with this." Then he looked to Release, "You however better learn to butt out of people's minds!"

Release just smirked and walked off.

"Good luck with him." Flash sighed.

"He lives to rebel." Batman joined the sigh. "It's good he knows when it's too much."

"Yeah, right." Hawk continued to glare in Release's direction. "Thankfully GI JOE can now freely engage in this war. Unfortunately so can Cobra."

"They've begun to take back bases, haven't they?" Diana asked

"Yes." Hawk said grimly. "Laanx it seems has made some sort of deal with them."

Sinister glared at his screens. "These Scions have been a massive thorn in my side and worst of all they aren't even aware of it." He grunted then pressed a button. It opened a communications channel to Oroko Saki, the connection died immediately. "What?"

"Boss..." Blockbuster walked in. "Found this out front." It was an elaborate japanese carrying box.

"Open it." Blockbuster followed the order and pulled out a scroll. He handed it to Sinister and he opened it carefully. Then he read it. "This is not good."

"I thought Saki through us to the wolves." Blockbuster asked.

"He did, but one must never discard a potential ally." Sinister growled. "Until they discard you..." He crushed the scroll and walked over to his desk. "Blockbuster, you still contact Rocksteady and Bebop, yes?"

"Yeah, they've been bored out of their skulls, something about Shredder joining a new clan." Blockbuster nodded.

"Ask them if they're in need of a new employer." Mr. Sinister smiled. "And if they are, to contact me discreetly."

Blockbuster nodded and left.
