A/N: Thank you guys again for all of your reviews. They really motivate me to keep writing!
I'm glad this story is ending soon, but I'm sad at the same time? Like, this story has become my baby. I've been writing it for over a year now and even though there's a lot of things I've started to not like about it, it's still special to me.
It's a little sad how these last few chapters I've been writing are the last times I'll get to write for each different POV in this story :(
Oh well... enough sappiness, enjoy the next chapter!
Eleanor's head hurt.
She guessed it mostly had to do with her barely getting any sleep last night. After Brittany finally finished with her insane hair brushing, she still hadn't been able to fall asleep easily. She felt so scatterbrained, like she couldn't calm her thoughts down for a few minutes enough to focus on trying to sleep.
She was more than glad that they were going home today. Which was ironic, since she was the one who felt so excited at first when the trip first started. It wasn't her fault though, she didn't know how badly things would go for her throughout the week.
Things were so different when Theodore invited her to go with them on the week long camping trip. They were friends. They weren't awkward around each other. Sure, he was still dating Juliet at the time, but things weren't nearly as bad as they had become.
She remembered how much more normal things were back then. She had been over at Theodore's house, watching a cooking show that he happened to be obsessed with on the couch with him - she wasn't as big of a fan of it, but he liked it and watched the weird shows that she liked, so she could only return the favor for him.
Eleanor had been trying her best to pay attention to the show when he spoke up, telling her that he wanted to ask her something. Once he explained that Dave was taking he and his brothers on a camping trip, and that the Chipettes were invited, she was happy to hear the news. It sounded fun!
"We're going to have a great time," Theodore said to her with a big smile on his face.
Obviously great was the opposite of what ended up happening.
More than anything right now, she felt homesick. For many obvious reasons.
It was almost funny to think about how she had to be the one to convince Brittany to come. The only reason she hadn't wanted to go in the first place was because of Alvin, and now look at her, wanting to go home because of Theodore.
She wished she could say she was fine with things now and that the situation was getting better, but that would be a lie.
She was still having a horrible time, and she just wanted to go home. She wanted to forget about all of the drama and hang out with her friends. She wanted to practice for soccer tryouts next year. She wanted to do anything that didn't involve Theodore or Juliet.
"Don't just sit there!" she suddenly heard Brittany yell at her. "We don't have time for that! Come on, start packing!"
The blonde Chipette had to force herself not to roll her eyes. Eleanor wasn't rushing herself to get all of her things ready, mostly because she and Jeanette had thought ahead and packed a little bit the night before - but also because she hadn't brought nearly as much as Brittany did, like always.
"When are we leaving?" Eleanor asked her.
Brittany shrugged. "I don't know," she admitted, "but we need to use all the time we have! Hand me that magazine over there, will you?"
That was how Eleanor got stuck with helping Brittany find all of her many things and put them away in her many suitcases. "Be careful with that," her older sister would say, or "watch that, it's fragile!" while Eleanor held herself back from snapping. She wasn't really annoyed with Brittany, she was annoyed with herself, she knew that, and she had to remind herself to not bring that out on anyone else.
The biggest reason she was ready to go home was because she didn't like what she had become during the trip. She was moody, jealous, and kissed a girl's boyfriend. Eleanor before the trip would never do anything like that. She would be happy for Theodore, and she definitely wouldn't have kissed him, not while he had a girlfriend.
"Hey, watch it!" Brittany's shrill cry was enough to make her jump. "Those shoes were expensive!"
This time Eleanor couldn't help but roll her eyes as she very carefully set the shoes in one of Brittany's bags. "Sorry, your majesty," she muttered. Why Brittany brought along a pair of high heels for a trip to the wilderness that she knew she would never get an opportunity to wear, Eleanor would never know.
"So, um..." Brittany began to say while folding one of her skirts, "how are things with you and Theodore?"
Eleanor blinked. That wasn't a question she would expect from Brittany. She knew how Eleanor felt about Theodore and what happened the other day. After their talk, she would have thought that Brittany would have kept things dropped.
"The same," she managed to say, after getting over her initial surprise. "Why do you care?"
She hadn't meant for the question to come off the way it did, but... really, why would Brittany care? She knew that she was a good sister and would want to know if she was still upset about things, but Brittany had seemed pretty pleased with the advice she had already given her: take a break from Theodore and stop talking to him until she was okay again.
"I mean, you already know that I'm not talking to him," she added, in hopes of making the question look less blunt.
That didn't stop Brittany from looking offended.
"I'm your sister, why wouldn't I care?" she frowned. "Besides, I want you to keep me updated on this kind of stuff."
Eleanor sighed. She decided to help Brittany with her clothes folding while she spoke. "Not much to keep you updated on," she said, a trace of bitterness sneaking in her words despite her efforts to stop it. "We're not talking, and he probably hates me. That's all."
Brittany shot her a pointed look. "You know he doesn't hate you."
Sure, that was true... Eleanor didn't think it was even possible for Theodore to hate anyone. But she had treated him like crap almost the entire trip, in her opinion, all because he had a girlfriend. It wasn't his fault and it wasn't fair. She thought that not talking to him would be better off for the both of them in the long run, but now she was starting to have her doubts. It seemed like she was only hurting Theodore even more. That was the opposite of what she wanted.
"Yeah, I know," she eventually agreed. "I'm sure he's not very happy with me, though."
"Have you tried talking to him about it?" Brittany asked, obviously having some trouble deciding on what exactly it was that she wanted to say. Eleanor knew that advice giving wasn't exactly her forte, so she had to give her some props for at least trying to be helpful.
"We're not talking at all now, remember?"
"Oh yeah."
Eleanor tried to focus her attention on putting all of Brittany's things away. She just wanted to stop thinking about her boy problems for a few minutes. That was another big reason why she wanted to go home, it would be a lot easier for her to get over things once she was able to stay at her own house and not be sleeping just a few feet away from Theodore in their own respective tents.
"Well," Brittany spoke up again, "I kind of did you a favor, but I don't know if you'll be upset about it or not."
Uh oh. She didn't like the sound of that...
"What?" she asked, not sure if she even really wanted to hear the answer.
"I thought maybe talking to Alvin would help things out a little, since he's Theodore's brother and all," Brittany explained quickly, "so this morning I got him to ask Theodore how he feels about things, right? Well, he said-"
"Brittany!" Eleanor interrupted, her eyes narrowed. "You can't butt into our business like that!"
"Relax," she insisted, "it's not like he said anything bad."
Eleanor still couldn't help but feel annoyed about it. In the end, what was going on between she and Theodore wasn't anyone's business but their own. They weren't eight years old any more, they could handle things on their own.
Besides... a tiny part of her just didn't want to know what Theodore had said. She guessed it would be something along the lines of how he was upset he and Eleanor weren't talking now and that he wanted to be friends with her again. She didn't want to hear that. She knew she would have to eventually, she couldn't avoid things forever, but for now she just wanted to be left alone about it.
"It doesn't matter if it was good or bad," she shook her head, her frustration evident, "don't tell me what he said."
Brittany's eyes widened. "Why not?!" she demanded.
"Because I don't want to know," she said firmly. "That wouldn't be fair to Theodore anyway, if he wanted to tell me something he would do it himself. Not have to have you tell me it without him even knowing."
"Yeah, right," Brittany scoffed. "How can he when you won't even talk to him?"
That one question was enough to set Eleanor off.
"Might I remind you that you're the one who told me I should do that?" she snapped. She didn't like having to go off on anyone, especially not one of her sisters, but she was sick and tired of having to deal with all of this. Add that on to the fact that now she knew Brittany was trying to meddle in her business and had the nerve to ask her a question like that, and she was just too upset to actually calm herself down before talking.
"Next time just don't even bother trying to help," she continued, moving to make her way out of the tent, "and good luck packing all of that by yourself."
She stepped out of the tent as fast as she could, ignoring Brittany's attempts to get her to stay inside. She had to get away from her sister, before she let her own feelings towards herself cause her to have another sudden and quick outburst.
Yeah, she was definitely glad they would be going home soon.
A/N: That ends Eleanor's last chapter :( SADNESS
I know it was kind of short, but I felt like this was a good place to leave off on.
Okay, so I've only got three chapters left: Alvin, Jeanette, and Theodore. I have a good idea on what I'm going to do for Theodore's chapter, but I'm drawing a blank when it comes to Alvin and Jeanette. Their stories are pretty much done, so obviously those two chapters are going to have to mostly be filler... even then I'm still not sure what to do for them. If you guys have any suggestions, please PM me! It would be very appreciated, and of course you'd get credit for it!
