Chapter 20: Interdimensional Field Trip
In the School Bus...
Star was screaming happily through the window.
"Star!"Serena shouted angrily and pulled her cousin back in the bus. "Your face is going to hit something!"
"Seriously Star?"Marco asked from the seat behind them. "There is nothing to be excited about, it's just..."
"The best day of my life!"Star stated happily. "We're Going on a Field Trip!"
"Cork it Princess!"Miss Skullnick snapped.
"I can't believe we're actually doing this!"
The blonde haired girl takes Marco's phone and looks at something.
"Oh, he's so cute!"Star giggled. "I just want to gobble him up!"
The thing on Marco's phone reveals to be a Funny Cat Image.
"I hope Jackie likes it as much as you!"Marco said excitedly as he took back his phone.
"Oooh, conversation starter!"Star chuckled.
"Shhh!"Marco hushed. "She is right there!"
He points at Jackie, who was looking at her phone.
"Yeah she is right there!"Star remarked. "You go talk to her."
"More than just Hello? Too risky, I may say something dumb."Marco said. "That's why I let the kitten pics do the talking for me."
He sends the cat picture to Jackie.
"Oh, I love it!"Jackie commented with a smile.
Marco showed the conversation to Star and Serena.
"She sent me an L.O.L."Marco gasped. "We're communicating!"
"Your not going to keep this up all day are you, Diaz?"Serena asked with a smirk.
"Now that I know Jackie loves my cat picture, yes!"Marco replied proudly.
The bus then came to a stop.
"We're here!"Star cheered.
Inside the Paperclip Museum...
The place filled with paperclips.
Star looked at the paperclips in amazement.
"Amazing!"She said. "What is it?"
"It's a paperclip."Serena responded simply.
"Luckily I've got my phone."Marco remarked while holding his phone.
Miss Skullnick took Marco's phone.
"No distractions Mr Diaz and for the rest of you..."She said as she takes out a Megaphone and screamed. "No monkey business! This is the Echo Creek Museum of Paperclips! We're going to spend the next day hours learning about the genius of this little bent of wire."
This caused all the students to groan in boredom.
"Do little Miss Skullnick!"Alfonzo complained. "Stop, this hurts!"
"So Boring!"Ferguson cried. "Aahhh!"
The rest of the students agreed and started complaining too.
"Why must you torture us!"Kevin said.
Star started worrying about the success of the trip.
"Well, you know what?"Miss Skullnick asked and took out the megaphone again. "Life is boring!"
"Miss Skullnick!"Star said as she stepped forward. "Life is supposed to be fun!"
"I used to think that, but now I'm fifty and all my dreams are in the rear view mirror."Miss Skullnick replied. "The best thing of my life is teaching you kids and I hate teaching you."
"That's cause you're doing it all wrong."Star commented.
"And you think you can lead this trip better than me?"Miss Skullnick asked.
"I was born to lead."Star responded and took out her wand. "...literally."
"Okay, go ahead then!"Miss Skullnick laughed. "When you fail, those brats might actually appreciate me for a change."
Star looked at her class companions.
"Who wants to go somewhere not boring?!"She asked.
"I do!"the students said in unison.
Star looked at Serena.
"Leader's assistant, give me the scissors please."She ordered with a smile.
"Star, is this really a good idea?"Serena questioned.
"Yes now give me the scissors."Star replied.
Serena sighed with a frown on her face and gives her cousin the scissors.
Afterwards...
Star used her scissors and opened a portal to a new dimension, where the students arrived in the bus.
"Welcome to the dimension of Wonders and Amazement!"She announced.
The bus stopped and the students run out of it.
"What is this place?"Marco asked.
"Oh, just a planet full of the most odd and unbelievable things in the universe."Star replied.
Miss Skullnick began to shout on her megaphone.
"No running! No yelling!"She shouted. "No!"
"Hey hey hey hey!"Star said.
She blasts the megaphone off with a magic spell and turns it into a "Megaphone animal" that runs away.
"You put me on charge."Star reminded.
"Which was a terrible idea."Serena mumbled underneath her breath.
"...so Rule N°1: No rules!"Star said happily.
"No rules leads to Anarchy."Miss Skullnick stated.
"When you give people the freedom to do whatever they want."Star admitted and gives Marco back his phone.
"I get more bars here than i do on earth!"Marco remarked as he walked away.
"They might just surprise you."Star remarked. "Try to have a little fun you Big ol meanie."
The blonde haired girl then walked away.
Miss Skullnick looked at Serena.
"Is this what you deal with everyday?"She asked.
"Pretty much."Serena responded.
"Hey Serena!"Jackie's voice called out.
Serena sees Kevin and Jackie riding on flying stingrays.
"Would you like to join us?"Kevin asked taking out his hand.
Serena nodded and took Kevin's hands before flying away together with Jackie.
Alfonzo and Ferguson stood in front of a blue portal.
"Can we jump through this light-ray thing?"Ferguson asked.
"You don't have to ask my permission Fly free my curious little sparrows!"Star replied. "Being a leader is easy, just say yes all the time."
Ferguson looked at Alfonzo.
"Take my hand bro!"He said.
The two jumped into the beam and come out fused on a horse.
Ferguson and Alfonzo galloped away.
"Friends!"They said in unison.
Skullnick was checking out the exhibition, more specifically: A stand called Lifespan of a troll.
She pressed a button called 'Push for Audio Tour'.
The Exhibition Narrator began showing different stages of the life of a Troll.
"Trolls are one of the universes' few ultra-supercentenaries."the spider with a small megaphone. "Which means they live a really really really really long time."
"I'm gonna live to be Four Hundred? And here I thought I was going trough The big change."Miss Skullnick admitted and smiled. "Turns out i'm a teenager again!"
Outside...
Students were running free trough the dimension, except for Marco who was still on the 'Funny Cat Images' enterprise.
Jackie doesn't pay attention to him because she was having fun with Kevin and Serena while riding on the flying stingrays.
"Boom."Marco chuckled. "The cat is in the bag."
Serena, Kevin and Marco flew past Star.
"Uhm, guys, I don't thing you're supposed to ride a Dermathian stingray like that..."Star started.
Francis stood in front of a Black Hole in the ground, that has many warning signs around it.
"Uhm, Miss Star, may I jump into this ominous looking vortex?"He asked.
"Francis, please, stop where you are and ask yourself: Is this something you really want to do..."Star said.
The blonde haired girl notice Justin trying to touch a High Voltage Machine.
"Justin, no!"Star protested.
"Uhm, yeah, I really wanna do this!"Francis commented.
He jumped at the vortex, which intermediately "Spaghetizzes" him into 4 overlapping clones of himself.
All the 4 Francis clones became shocked.
"I really didn't think this through!"They said in unison.
Star notice Sabrina was upside down in a floating Escherian Stairwell.
"That's not a good idea, Sabrina!"She protested.
"Hey Star!"Sabrina laughed. "Isn't this great!?"
"Real great, but you might wanna come down."Star responded and realized that Justin was playing with the machine again. "Justin!"
Marco checked on his phone and saw Jackie didn't check his messages.
"L.O.L? No smiley face? Nothing?"He said sadly. "Jackie? Time to drop the "A-Bomb of cute", "A" for adorable."
Star was trying to keep some order.
"Jackie!"Star called out. "Kevin! Rena!"
She then tried to discourage Chelsea from jumping into a giant pancake.
"No no no, don't you jump on that!"Star shouted.
Chelsea jumped and the pancacke blowed up, launching her into the air, but Star manages to grab her before she fell.
"Why did you let me do that Star..."Chelsea groaned.
"Star, help!"Sabrina cried out.
"Sabrina!"Star shouted.
Sabrina was falling down the neverending staircase, through a lot of complicated passages.
"Don't worry, I...I...I don't even know how to help you..."Star said.
Janna checked out a stand called "Universe's Most Deadliest Creature", where a tiny knitting monster made of wool can be seen.
"The universe's most deadliest creature?"She said with a smirk.
Ferguson and Alfonzo, still fused, appeared sliding on some marbles.
"Ahhh, I told you these weren't gumballs!"Alfonzo stated.
Janna simply looked at the innocent creature.
"What a tease..."She admitted.
Alfonzo and Ferguson crashed into the creature's crystal cage, breaking the glass.
The creature sees an opportunity to break free and escape.
The students began asking for Star's advice, in situations of evident danger.
Hope pointed at a seemingly nuclear, floating structure in the sky
"Star!"She said. "Can I get mutant superpowers?"
"Clones Star, we're hungry."the Francis clones complained.
Justin held a giant metal fork.
"Star, can I touch it with this?"He asked.
Star started to lose control of the situation.
Janna in the arms of a skeleton.
"Star!"She called out and takes a selfie with the skeleton. "Meet my new BFF!"
"BFF!"the Skeleton said.
"Uhm, I...I...I..."Star started.
"STAR!"All the students shouted.
"Can you guys just be quiet for one second!"Star begged.
The blonde haired girl notice that the students weren't screaming anymore.
"Ah, that's better."Star said and notice the students were gone. "Francis? Justin?Sabrina? Where did everybody go?"
Miss Skullnick rushed up to Star.
"Star! Guess what..."She called out and notice the students weren't around. "Wait, where's the rest of the class?"
A stingray flies past Star and Miss Skullnick.
Marco became sad because Jackie didn't read his message.
"Fine Jackie, I get it, I know when I'm not wanted."He cried.
Marco throws his phone and walked away, but before he can get too far away, the phone rings.
"Oh no no, please work, please work!"He begged.
Marco turns on the phone and reads the message he got from Serena.
"HELP US?"He said in confusion. "What's that an acronym for?"
Miss Skullnick puts on a troll warrior armour.
"Rena's text said they've been captured by some monster."Star said. "Marco and I can totally handle this: We fight monsters all the time."
"I trusted you with the class for five minutes and you lost them along with your own cousin."Miss Skullnick stated with a frown.
"They're not lost, we just don't know where they are."Star answered.
Then Marco's phone vibrates and saw he got an image from Serena that shows a picture of a strange place that's filled with socks.
"They're wherever this is!"Marco said.
"Wait, I remember seeing a trail of socks right after the class disappeared."Star admitted.
"That's where I'm starting my search."Miss Skullnick replied and walked away.
Marco, Star and Miss Skullnick appeared in front of a cave called "Universe's Most Coziest Pre-Historic Cave Dwelling.
"This is it."Miss Skullnick commenter.
Inside the cave showed Serena and the other students were trapped inside giant socks over a giant fireplace.
Star and Marco run to the 'Sock Shelf' to free the students and Miss Skullnick stays on the floor to get them when they fall.
"Kids, don't worry, we're gonna be home soon."Miss Skullnick assured.
A loud roar was heard in the distance and everyone noticed it.
"Ok, we have to hurry, Jump!"Miss Skyllnick said. "I'll catch you."
Chelsea jumped and Miss Skullnick gets her before placing her on the ground.
"Come on, Jump!"Miss Skullnick whispered.
"I can't do this!"Ferguson replied in fear.
"Take my hand, bro."Alfonzo said.
The two boys jumped down and fell safely.
Star helped Serena out of her sock.
"Rena..."She started.
"We'll talk later."Serena responded.
The orange haired girl helped Kevin off the sock he was stuck in.
"Marco!"Jackie called out happily.
"Jackie!"Marco said nervously. "Hi, Hey, Yeah, Uhh, Hey, Uhh..."
"Marco?"Jackie asked with a frown.
"I'll take care of Jackie, you free Janna."Star instructed.
"Yeah Marco..."Janna agreed and showed her fangs while doing a scary voice. "Help Meee!"
"Ah!"Marco panicked.
Back to the floor, all the students were safe, except for Janna that is the last one freed.
"Relax, they aren't real fangs, unless you want them to be."Janna replied.
Then whistles were heard in the distance.
"Quiet!"Miss Skullnick snapped. "It's coming!"
The monster appeared showing to be a bigger version of the previously seen Knitting Monster, when the kids see him they scream, making him angry.
The monster roared and everybody ran away, except for Skullnick, Marco, Star, Serena and Janna.
"Alright String Monster!"Star said.
"No!"Miss Skullnick interrupted. "I'm back at charge and I need you to get those kids to safety!"
Miss Skullnick grabbed a big rock, astounding Star, Marco and Serena.
"What did I say?"She asked. "Go! Go! Go!"
Star, Marco, Serena and Jana run away, while Miss Skullnick fights off the monster.
Star began ordering the kids to go back the School Bus.
"What did I say?"She demanded. "Go! Go! Go!"
The students run into the bus, while Marco and Serena stood next to Star.
Miss Skullnick kept fighting with her axe.
"Skullnick has really got some moves."Stat chuckled.
"You bet you tuckus I do..."Miss Skullnick said.
The monster eats Miss Skullnick, shocking the three young teenagers.
Star aimed her wand at the monster.
"Get ready to eat magic!"She stated.
The monster stopped for a second and Miss Skullnick gets out of his stomach.
Miss Skullnick then grabbed a paperclip and attached it to a string of the monster, slowly disarming it.
"Get that bus moving!"She ordered.
The bus started moving away fast and Miss Skullnick attached the paperclip to the Universe's Most Immovable Post, she then runs to the bus, trying to reach it.
Miss Skullnick reached the bus causing Star and Serena to take her inside it.
When the monster runs behind the bus, but it disarms itself completely before he can reach it.
Inside of the Bus...
All the students cheered for Miss Skullnick.
"That's how you do it!"Miss Skullnick remarked proudly.
"Rena, I'm sorry I didn't listen to you and Miss Skullnick."Star admitted sadly.
"It's okay, cuz."Serena assured with a smile. "I'm sure one day your going to be a great leader."
"Aw really?"Star asked.
"Really."Serena replied.
Jackie went up to Marco.
"Hi Marco, is someone sitting in there?"She asked with a smile.
Marco looked at Star and Serena, who gives him thumbs up.
He looked back at Jackie.
"Yeah, you are."Marco responded kindly and moved over.
Jackie then sat next to Marco.
