Tossing and turning. Turning and tossing.

This had been going on for the past hour and finally, Michael couldn't take it. He reached over and switched on the bedside lamp before sitting up. Sara turned, a guilty expression on her face.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." she said, sitting up as well, leaning against the headboard and pulling her knees up to her chest.

Michael waved away her apology, more concerned at what was bothering her. "You haven't been sleeping well the past few days...do you want to talk about it?"

A split-second of hesitation clouded her but it was gone as quickly as it came. "Not really."

Michael stroked her kneecap, gently squeezing it. "Sara, please talk to me."

Sara shook her head. "It's nothing, Michael. It's my problem and I'll deal with it."

Michael sighed. He knew Sara wasn't one to want to share her burden with others but he knew that if she kept whatever this was bottled up much longer, it would lead to her undoing. She had already seemed more irritable lately, especially because she clearly wasn't sleeping well.

"I won't force you to talk about it but I will say this. I'm here. Whenever you want to talk, I'm here."

Sara looked up at him, looking at the pain in his eyes. She knew it wasn't fair to leave him in the dark; after all, he had been through a lot too. But it was for that reason that she didn't want to talk to him - she didn't want him to have to carry more of a burden that he already had, especially because there was nothing he could do about her problem. How was he supposed to stop the nightmares that made her want to quit sleeping altogether?

"Thank you. I appreciate that." she replied, straightening her legs and slouching back into a laying down position.

Michael watched her for a couple of moments before he followed suit, turning off the lamp and going back under the cover of their bed. He wrapped one arm around Sara's torso, snuggling his head into her shoulder. "I love you."

"I love you too" Sara replied, tilting her head to kiss the side of his.

Michael closed his eyes, letting the silence help him think about what he could possibly do make Sara feel safe. Should he try to force her to talk about it? Try to distract her from the pain The Company had caused her? He doubted that was possible considering they were in a warehouse surrounded by anything and everything that had to do with The Company.

The answer to his question came a few minutes later when Sara gently tapped his arm. `Michael?"

"Yeah?"

Sara turned in his arms so she was facing him. "Do you really think we can do it? Take down The Company?"

Michael debated this question for a moment before responding. "Honestly? I think it's possible. I won't lie to you, the odds are not in our favour but, if we work hard enough, I know we can do it."

He could feel the bed move a bit as Sara nodded. She was silent for a few moments and then,"Michael?"

"Hmm?"

He could hear the smile in her voice as she asked her next question. "Do you really want to take this boat out one day, sail off to points unknown?"

Michael shrugged, a smile gracing his lips. "Why not? As long as its you and me."

Even without seeing her, Michael knew Sara was blushing.

"I like the sound of that," she replied, squeezing his hand. She released her hand from his, feeling for his head before resting her hand on his cheek. Moving closer, she pressed her lips against his, gently.

"Me too," he replied, when they pulled apart. "Sara?"

"Yes?"

"Try to get some sleep?" His voice was pleading and Sara knew he wouldn't drop it so, in response, she moved even closer to him, placing her hand on his stomach and her head on his shoulder, stifling a yawn.

"Goodnight," she mumbled, kissing his shoulder.

"Goodnight," Michael replied, stroking her hair as they slowly drifted off to sleep.
