AN: I was actually expecting more of a response to the last chapter, mostly along the lines of 'Oh my God what have you done', be it positive or negative...guess it wasn't as controversial as I thought!
Anyway, in the next few chapters, we hear from Sylvester and Megan, Paige is going to sing, and I'm working on a Christmas chapter!
Teaser for next chapter:
Title: Greater Good Scenario Complicated by Personal Involvement
Summary: *SPOILERS FOR ROGUE ELEMENT* Walter knows he can't give Drew an objective answer. So he tells him, "I don't have an answer for you."
Happy's not blind.
She's also not Walter.
Her EQ is not as low as the bottom of the Marianas Trench.
(Although, to be fair, Walt's improving of late.)
There's still something between Cabe and his ex-wife.
(Toby, predictably, has some more...interesting...ways of describing it. Broken unspoken promises, years of pining and inability to forget, a pinch of grief, anger and resentment, with a touch of complication in the form of a spouse...)
Simply put, there's still love (whatever that really means) there.
She watches. (How could she not? She's a genius and a woman.)
And she comes to a conclusion.
Love means always having their back.
She glances over at Toby's desk.
She's not blind to his feelings.
(He makes it pretty damn obvious.)
And he's always got her back.
Even if half the time it's completely unnecessary because she is perfectly fine on her own and perfectly capable of doing it by herself.
(She did not need a boost to get through that window!)
Still, it's nice to know there's someone there when she needs help.
It's nice to know that someone's always got her back.
