On a dock south of Pallet Town, a young girl scratched her long brown hair and yawned. She had set up a stand to sell her wares. She thought to herself, "Where is everyone? I knew I shouldn't have set my shop up near some small hick town." She stared at Pallet Town and thought, "Where are all the skyscrapers in that town anyway? I bet that nobody in that town will be able to afford anything anyway..." She spotted a businessman walking around the beach. He carried a suitcase and appeared depressed. The girl then yelled, "Hey, you! The guy with the suitcase! Why don't you check out what I have to sell?!" The man cried, "It's no time to shop..." The girl gasped, "Hey, you look sad. What's up, old man?" "I was just kicked out of my own house. All I have left is this suitcase and my Skitty!" She thought, "Skitty, eh? I have the TM for you!" The man asked, "A technical machine for my Pokemon? I don't have the money..." The girl smiled, "For you, it's only 3000 Pokeyen. You see, this TM is for Attract. Teach that Skitty there Attract. Then you can use its powerful effect to get your wife back!" The man thought, "Only 3000 Pokeyen... right? Sure, I'll take it! Bless you, kind woman!" The girl fingered through her money and laughed, "Sucker."
#21: THE WEIRD GIRL
The Guardians continued their journey south of Pallet Town. Chibi said, "Wow! We actually get to go past the ocean! How cool!" Misty sighed, "How will we get past the ocean? I mean, I can use my mermaid powers to swim through just fine. But what are we going to do with the rest of you?" Ash said, "Maybe we should rent a boat or something..."
Suddenly, he heard the voice of a girl scream out, "Hey, you! With the black hair! I bet you'd like to buy something from me!" Ash looked around and pointed at himself confusedly. "Yes you! Would you like to buy something, handsome?" Dash said, "It depends what you're selling." The girl yelled, "Shut up! I wasn't talking to you!" Dash sighed, "Why couldn't we be identical twins...?"
Ash said, "Actually, I'm looking for a..." The girl interrupted him, "Hey! I haven't introduced myself! I am the lovely Green... I know you'd like to check my measurements, but I assure you that you can already tell just by looking at them." Misty mumbled, "Look at her! She's just showing herself off to Ash. That hussy!" Ash sweatdropped, "Nice to meet you... The name's Ash."
The man with the Skitty earlier came charging at Green with a knife. Green held his hand and gasped, "Hold it, pal!" The man yelled, "I can't believe I ever trusted you! You tell me to buy one of your stupid TMs. So I open it and what do I find? There's nothing but a bunch of paper hearts inside the box! I spent 3000 on this crap, and I want it back!" Green replied, "Sorry, no refunds. Besides, if you were smarter, you wouldn't have spent so much money buying from a young girl!"
The man threatened Green with his knife as Ash, who had been ignoring the conversation until now, gasped and yelled, "Psychic Power! Psychic Blast!" The man was blown back by a blast of energy. He screamed, "What the?! You're all crazy!" He then ran off with his Skitty. Green gasped, "What in the hell was that?" Jupei hit Ash on the head, "As if we didn't need anyone else knowing our secret!" Ash sighed, "But this was an emergency. We had to help that girl..."
Meanwhile, Green thought to herself and said, "That power... It could come in handy... Hey, Ash..." She noticed that Ash had already left. She found him and the other Guardians walking along the beach. "You're not getting away!" shouted Green as she put all her things in a giant sac.
Ash looked in the ocean and said, "The next boat doesn't come for a few hours." Misty said, "So let's relax!" Misty grabbed Ash's arm and whispered something to him. Ash sweatdropped as Misty tried to lead him away from the group. Suddenly, Green jumped in and posed in front of Ash in a swimsuit. She bent over and asked, "You'd like to join me, wouldn't you?" Ash replied, "Well, actually..." Misty yelled, "What are you doing?! Can't you see we're trying to spend time together?!" Green stared at Misty and said, "Oh please. You're telling me to believe that Ash is hanging around with some scrawny tomboy..." The words flew through Misty's ears as she yelled, "Who are you calling a scrawny tomboy?!" She tried to punch Green. Green grabbed Misty and knocked her into the sand.
Ash sweatdropped, "Will you two please stop fighting...?" He gasped as he saw the others sitting next to him eating popcorn. Brock said, "We might as well watch." Dash said, "Nothing like a good catfight..." Chibi then spoke, "This is probably not very appropriate for me."
Later, after the bickering was over, Misty brought Ash to a quiet spot on the beach. She grabbed him and said, "Now while we're alone, let's kiss." Before Misty could kiss Ash, Green popped up and kissed Misty instead. She laughed, "No way that you're kissing Ash!" Misty then gasped and began drinking salt water to wash out Green's saliva. She yelled, "I can't believe you did that!" Green realized what she just did and began drinking salt water yelling, "Eww! Tomboy spit!" Ash sweatdropped and left.
Misty ran over to Ash and yelled, "Wait up, Ash!" Green followed and tripped. Ash gasped and ran back to Green asking, "Are you alright?" Green heard this and said, "No! I think I sprained my ankle or something equally horrible! Please help me!" Misty became green-eyed and yelled, "Ash! Can't you see past her tricks?! All she wants is your sympathy! I mean, all she did was fall into sand!"
Ash helped Green onto a bench as Misty facefaulted. Green blushed, "You truly are the nicest guy I've ever met. Please be mine!" Ash answered, "I'm sorry, Green. But I already have someone whom I love." Green became and angry and yelled, "Don't tell me! It's that stupid red-haired jackass!" Ash yelled, "Hey, you have no right to talk about her like that!" Green cried, "I'm sorry! I'm just so alone. Do you know why I have to sell all this crap? It's because I have no real chance to make a living on my own!" She looked up to see if Ash was listening and continued, "Please forgive me! All I ever wanted was for you to like me."
Ash felt sympathy for Green and said, "You know what? I think I will buy whatever you have to offer." Green thought about how she could use this to her advantage. She noticed that Ash was holding the tickets for the boat ride to Cinnabar Island and said, "Okay, here's a TM for Dragon Rage. You probably know by now that Dragon Rage is an exceptionally strong move! Teach it to your Pokemon and you'll be unstoppable." "How much do you want?" Green replied, "What I really want is a ride to Cinnabar. It would be nice if I could take a boat there one day and enjoy the sights." Ash looked at his tickets and sighed, "Well, Brock did buy an extra ticket thinking that Pikachu would need one. Okay, Green. I'll let you have a ticket to Cinnabar." Green hugged him and said, "Thank you! You're so cool!" She handed him the TM and snickered, "This day is turning out to be pretty good. I stole a free ride to Cinnabar Island, and I get to keep a close eye on Ash!" She hummed as she walked back to her stand. She then gasped seeing an angry mob in front of her stand.
Ash walked back to the other Guardians who were just sitting around and said, "That nice girl just gave me a TM for Dragon Rage and all I had to was give her a ticket." Misty yelled, "You gave that bitch a ticket?!" "Well, she does have some issues, " said Ash, "But she's really a nice girl who just needs a home." Misty sighed, "She's playing you for a fool! And I don't like it at all!"
Ash said to Pikachu, "Would you like to learn Dragon Rage?" Pikachu became confused and asked, "Pika?" Ash opened the TM and found nothing but stickers with the words "Dragon Rage" on them. He gasped, "No way! I've been jipped!" Misty screamed, "That filthy con artist! I knew it all along! Hurry! We have to show her what happens when you mess with the Guardians!"
The Guardians walked towards Green's stand and gasped at the sight of the angry mob. Several people yelled, "You tricked me!" "You said that it was a special discount for me!" "I'm broke because of you!" Ash yelled, "That TM you gave us is fake!" Looking at the mob, he then asked, "What happened?" Green smiled and said, "It's good that you're here Ash." She grabbed him and put him in charge of the stand. "Listen! All complaints go to this guy!" announced Green as the mob of people began attacking Ash.
Ash then yelled, "What are you doing, everyone?! Sure, this girl may have tricked you out of a little money! But is it necessary to hurt her? She's trying to make a living because of her unfortunate lifestyle! And all you care about is a little cash! You should feel ashamed of yourselves." Green's heart beat as she gasped, "Ash?" The people in the mob yelled, "No deal! We want our money back now!" They continued attacking Ash as Green gasped, "You're helping me even after I ripped you off? Please, you don't have to do this Ash."
As Green watched the angry mob, a dark green aura surrounded her. Jupei sighed, "I guess that girl does actually have a heart..." Jupei flew over to Green and said, "If you want to help Ash out, yell 'Dragon Power'!" Green grabbed Jupei and said, "What the? You can talk?" Jupei screamed, "Just say it already!" Green yelled, "Dragon Power!" The symbol of a dragon appeared on her dark green Guardian clothing.
Green saw Ash and said, "I have to help him! Giant Enlarge!" Green felt her body changing as she felt herself getting bigger. She enlarged into a giant version of herself. The people gasped as they stared at the giant Green. She punched the ground next to them as a wave of sand flew up. Green gasped, "Wow! Look at my power!" The people gasped and ran. "That girl's nuts!" "Keep your damn money!"
Ash looked up and gasped, "I don't believe it! I guess you should come with us since you are a Guardian after all." Green grabbed Ash and brought him close to her giant face, "Thank you so much!" said Green as she snuggled him. Misty yelled, "Hey, bring him back, you slut!" Green heard the words repeat itself over and over. She became outraged by Misty's words and yelled, "I'll never let Ash come back to a jackass like you!" Ash gasped, "Hey, put me down Green!" Green held Ash tightly and ran into a lighthouse, yelling, "Giant Enlarge!" The lighthouse became gigantic as she ran in to the top with Ash. Jupei gasped, "I don't get it. Was she really an Evil Guardian after all?" Misty yelled, "I don't care if she's really evil or not! That hussy has Ash and I won't let her get away with it!!"

Author's Notes: Before you ask, this Green is based on the Green from the Pokemon Adventures/Special manga/comic. If you hadn't read it before, I recommend it as it is a fun portrayal of the Pokemon games. While the main characters are Red, Blue, Green, and a bunch of other color-named people, they look much like the characters on the show. Unfortunately, the manga has been cancelled in the U.S. with only the first few graphic novels out. However, they do include Green, which in Japan, would be the character Blue. (Blue was released after Red and Green) However, since I am using everyone's Americanized names, I don't see anything wrong with calling Blue Green. Confused yet? Don't think about it too much. I'm getting confused writing this explanation too!
An excellent question has been asked recently about dual-types. It seems that I may have confuesd some people with the whole catching of dual-types. So here's my explanation... Dual-types may be caught in a regular ball or a combined ball. It feels weird citing my own work, but in Chapter 9, Jupei says, "This is how to capture stronger dual types! When one ball isn't enough, you need a combined ball! To do that, you'll need to synchronize your powers." Not all Pokemon require that a combined ball catches them. Otherwise, I'd have to rush in all the Guardians at once. I hope my explanation makes sense. And while we're discussing dual-types, Slowpoke is also a water type, and Graveler is also a ground type.
