The runaway Chapter 21: Surprising twists, a fairy tail fanfic

"BANG" Glass shattered and fell on the ground.

Natsu and I parted form each other and covered our heads. "What was that?" I turn myself to Natsu in chocked state, I was afraid. Glass doesn't break spontaneous. Someone did that.

Chapter 21:surprising twists

With my hands I grab onto Natsu's sweater and I didn't dare to let go. I would be safe with him, nothing would go wrong. "Shh It's going to be alright Luce, I promise." I breath firmly in and out and slowly I regain my senses back. I can't be scared in a situation like this, I got to stand strong. Natsu inspects the room for the broken glass. When he came by the door it was shattered into million pieces. All the butterflies were safe though because there is a second door that's secure.

I follow Natsu's lead and we walk outside. From a short distant there was a person in black clothes running away. It turns around to look once more , I could see some white hair coming out of her mask."It's the same girl." I whispered. And brought my hand to my mouth, I was shocked, she's still after me even though her friend died.

Natsu was no longer beside me. He started to chase her. But it was too late , she was out of sight. "DAMN I lost her." Natsu cries out loud.

I make my way towards him. His expression changed from anger to sadness. "Next time I'll catch them." I look up to the guy that once was my best friend , he changed a lot in all those years. He gently hugged me. "

My stomach demanded for food .

"Are you hungry?" He asked and I nodded . We got back on his motorcycle and left the park. A while later we arrived at Stars and dreams again. The bar where Mira works. .'Can we eat here?" I asked , I thought this was only a bar where you could drink and dance."Yeah,Mira's brother is an excellent cook." We walked inside and Natsu made his way over to the back. There were a few tables set and we took a spot in a corner. "Hey, Natsu and Lucy! What do you want to eat?" Before I could even take a look at the menu Mira made her way towards us. "Just the usual !" Natsu said with a grin. Mira turned to me and I flash trough the menu. " I want a spaghetti ."

"Okay " Mira said and turned around. I'm sure of it that she winked at me before she left. Ooh god maybe she thinks we are on a date! Or..or are we? I don't know damn now I'm acting weird.

"Lucy why you making weird faces?" Natsu asked , soon I came back to my senses and acted normal again. "Voila specially made with loveee~." Mira set our plates on the table and giggled like a little girl.

"Thanks Mira!" I ate from my spaghetti while Natsu just swallowed his food as a rampaging beast.

We soon finished our plates, " Luce do you think that-"
"Wait a sec." I got another text and I took my phone out.

: Don't forget your mask tomorrow ! Levy is going to help you to change unnoticed see ya ;)

His little message made me smile and I was relieved that it wasn't unknown. "Who is it?" Natsu asked and sat a little closer to me. "It's a secret!" I exclaim. "AAH Come on Luce, I wanna know!" Natsu tries to steal my phone from me , I hold it high up in the air so he can't reach it. "That's not fun " He whined and I had to laugh . He sat back on his chair and crossed his arms like a child who's mad because he can't get what he wants. I was still laughing so hard that I almost pied in my pants.

The music from the bar went harder and I heard a good song. "Natsu Come!" I take his hand and run down to the dance floor. For a change I pull his arm. HE was pretty surprised but went with the flow. We both dance in the middle of the floor with many others around us. I shake with my hips .

When the song was done we kept dancing for more than 4 other songs. We were pretty tired and Natsu drove us home. He stopped in front my house. "I have to go to my house, Wendy is alone again." He looked down and was a little gloomy. I carefully touch his chin and turns his head to mine. " It's okay , I'll be okay." I softly smile but he looked seriously worried. " Are you sure?" he asked for sureness.

"Natsu, I'll be fine , now go to your sister! And tell her I said hi, okay?" Natsu nodded but before he started his motor again he came closer to my face. "Luce, be careful okay." He kissed me softly on my lips. A special feeling in me lightened up. We stare at each other for another couple of seconds.

" Luce , if anything happens call me in an instant, I don't know but I really care about you." I whispered

" Thank you." I smiled softly.

Natsu was gone and I walked inside my apartment. "I'm Home!" I yell trough the house. Linda walked inside the hallway and greets me with a plate full of cookies. "Home made! Take one." I reach for one of the cookies and taste it. The delicious taste of chocolate cookies with extra pieces of chocolate in it overwhelms me. "I'm in heaven! You know these tastes like the cookies Aquarius used to make!"

Linda laughed nervously and went back to the kitchen. 'okay that was a little weird' I thought to myself. I shrugged my shoulders and walked upstairs. I charge my phone and opened my laptop. There isn't much new , then I get some idea. It's been a long time since I wrote. I used to write stories but that fade away when I was too busy with my music. I think of any new things . I write down some things that comes into my mind. After some hours I almost fell asleep on my computer. I get up to get a glass of water and went to bed.

' Time's up sweetheart! Good luck. Someone laughs from behind, I look around to find out who that voice belongs to. All I could see is black. Darkness is surrounding me , "There is no way out!" that voice came back. "WHAT DO YOU WANT!?" I screamed out. "You'll see !" And then an evil laugh reaches my ears. I sit down on the dark ground. My knees are touching my chest , my eyes are closed and my ears are covered with my hands. It stopped, the creepy laughing stopped. I open my eyes and moved my hands from my ears. The darkness is still surrounding me. " I'm gonna get you!" The same voice whispered in my ear. He sounded so closely.

"NOOOO!" I screamed my longs out and got straight up in bed. I was sweating and panting. 'It was a dream,no, it was just a nightmare.'

"Lucy!, are you okay?" Linda rushed into my room. She looked around and saw I was alone. She quickly walked down to my bed and sat on her knees. "My dear are you okay?" I kept looking at one point . I stare at the lines of my blanket and then I realized she asked me something. "What?" I asked plainly.

"Are you okay?" She asked again ."y...yeah.. it..it was just a nightmare again." Linda thought for a second . "I just began to think that they were over." She sights and walked towards my kitchen to get me some water." Here drink this." She gave me a glass and I slowly take a sip.

"Thanks Linda, for coming." I said softly. "It's okay , I'm downstairs if you need me okay?" I nodded and she left my apartment.

I move away my blanket and went back to my computer. I knew that I'm not sleeping anymore tonight so I can better do something useful. I practice the song that we are going to play tomorrow during Lunchtime. I enjoy singing actually , I didn't know it felt that great to sing again. I put all my emotions into my songs and it feels good to release them. I look at my clock again it's 3.47 am.

It's still so early. I sigh and peak out of my window. From my side I could see the whole street. I even can see the window of Natsu's bedroom. It's dark inside so I'm guessing he's asleep. Natsu and I, what are we actually? When we are together I feel like we are one, we even act like a couple, I feel the butterflies in my stomach grow larger and larger every time I'm with him. I can't deny it , I really love him. I always did. After the bullying I never thought I would still love him but after all that time I'm still into him.

I smile to myself and turn back around. From the corner of my eye I could see a car driving slowly in our street. It stopped at my front door but then drove away. 'Okay that was strange'

After some more hours of doing nothing but listening to music, writing , making new lyrics the morning finally began. I look at my clock again and it's 7 am. I walk towards my bathroom and I take a long warm shower. The water runs over my body and It feels so nice that I almost didn't want to exit the shower. I change into my clothes and look into the mirror. 'wow I look terrible, ' I had huge bags under my eyes .

I walk down stairs and Linda greeted me. She baked some pancakes for an unknown reason. " Since when do you make breakfast?" I asked her out of curiosity. I know Linda now for some months and she never made breakfast. I take a bite from one of her pancakes and it tastes like heaven in my mouth.

It's time to leave and when I walked out of the door Natsu stood there already waiting for me. "Looked like you didn't get enough sleep , did ya think too much about me?"Natsu teased me .I stick my tongue out.

" You don't look so bad yourself did you stay awake all night to think about that pick up line, mister Dragneel" If he could tease me , I can be as bad as him. "You've got me there , Heartfilia" Natsu smirked and we drove off to school.

I had my first class together with Loki and Natsu. When I walked into the classroom I see Levy waiting for me with a full bag. "What's that?" I asked her Levy stared at me like I was a big idiot. " Lucy you know what it is! It's for the afternoon!" I sat down on my chair and Loki went by. HE rolled a crumpled paper on my desk. I carefully unfold it, because I know if I'm not careful the paper will rip in two.

" Just before lunch , we gather in class 2.4 PS: Good luck with your nerves."

I glare at Loki who sat a few seats behind me. Loki pushed his glasses up and took his phone out. Probably texting his secret girlfriend. Honestly I'm pretty curious who she is. Natsu sat in front of me this time because Levy already took the seat next to me.

Right before lunchtime I sneaked with Levy trough the school hallways. Most students were gathered in the cafeteria waiting to see the mysterious band. My nerves were killing me. We entered class 2.4 to see that we were the first ones. "Looks like we have this place to ourselves!" Levy stretches her arms and opens her bag. " Now please change into these clothes Lucy-Chan!"

I sigh as I see the clothes Levy took out.

Levy brought me a black tank top with torn black trousers and a leather jacket with half sleeves. He also gave me a black mask to cover my eyes with and some beautiful jewelry. Right after I was doing changing the boys came in. They already whore their performance clothes. It's the same as mine but then in the manly version.

"You ready?" I turn my gaze at Sting who stood in the door opening. "There is no way I can just run away?" Loki placed his hands on my shoulder "Nope , not a change ,now of we go." When we walk towards the cafeteria Sting whispered something. " So when we're done with playing there's gonna be a lot of smoke so just follow our lead." This guy doesn't speak a lot but when he does I don't understand him. What's going to happen?.

In front of the doors we hear the students yelling. "Mystery band, Mystery band!"

"Looks like their waiting for us."Loki smirked "Dude , when are we telling our band name?"I asked to the three others. Nobody knew the answer apparently."We're telling them at the battle of the bands! It's gonna be a huge spectacle and we will reveal ourselves!"Sting sounded amused. I didn't object it was actually a good idea. Now it was our time to go on stage . Smoke filled the cafeteria and slowly we walked on stage and too our places. We even prepared a special surprise that nobody knows of. It's forbidden but heck we're doing it anyway.

"Hello Fairy tail high! Hope you're all ready!"I said into the mic. I was nervous but then I saw Natsu and Levy standing in the crowd. He smiled at me and I breath slowly in and out. It's kind of a habit before I sing. ( Closer faster by against the current)

I walk towards the left side of the stage and raised my hand. The crowd went wild screamed.

When I look over the crowd there are many faces I recognize. I overlook the times I've spend with every person I recognize. There stood a brunette in the cafeteria. She looked pretty cute, but what was her name again? Alex? No that isn't right … Shit I forgot. I sweat dropped and hoped nobody saw my strange look.

You lift me up, take my feet off the ground

Left me speechless, didn't know I'd feel this

I walk over to the other side of the stage A white spot followed my lead.

Some of the lines Sting sang with me and I smiled at him. Before we went on Loki told him to sing some lines but he declined. Guess he changed his mind or Loki is up to something.

'This song is actually long' I think to myself, When I sing the parts about the butterflies I think about last night with Natsu at the park. It's a shame we got disturbed by someone. I'm curious who she might be. I'm sure of it that that's the same girl as the previous event. And again I'm thinking to much , I hope nobody saw my weird faces, but then again half of my face is covered with a mask. I giggled and went on.

The song was done, everyone expected we were done because a lot of smoke filled the cafeteria , you couldn't see much , the lights dimmed but didn't go out. Many student were already walking towards their table to eat their lunch. All of us smirked when we began to play another song.

Loki played the keyboard this time together with some kind of drum. Sting played with his usual guitar and Rogue with the drums.

All the student ran back towards the stage. Nobody knew we would play two songs, it's actually forbidden but what the hell right?!' Rules are meant to be broken' that's exactly what Sting said before we went on. This was one of our new songs.

I bring my hands to my head and brush my hair to the back. When the chorus began Sting jumped together with his guitar. This time I stood in the middle of the stage and wasn't planning to move. You know for the mysterious effect.

The crowd went wild, some girls even tried to get on the stage but they got dragged away by one of the teachers. Even though some teacher tried to stop us from playing , there was no way to stop us. Levy made up a system so they couldn't shut our equipment . Smoke increased and the white lights went up and down.

Sting and Rogue stopped playing and Loki went over to play with his key board.

Rogue drummed again then Sting joined him. I jump and sing the chorus again. My passion for singing increased every second I spend on that stage. No matter what during this song I couldn't laugh , I didn't show anyone a laugh until my eyes meet Natsu's again. My lips curl a little but it was such a small movement that nobody saw it.

All the lights went out and more smoke came. In less than 5 seconds the lights went back on and the stage was empty. Rogue took care of our way out. He knows everything about disappearing like a shadow. We ended up in the school storage room. It was filled with boxes from the bottom to the top.

We all laughed and took off our maskers. " Gramps is so gonna kill us" I said as I was panting. " it was worth it" Sting replied and took a step back without realizing there was a pile of boxes. They all fell and thousands of papers fell on the ground. We all quickly changed into our old clothes and then we had to pick up all the fallen papers and lay then back in the boxes.

I already had more than twenty papers in my hand , when I bend down to take another one a picture of a woman caught my eye. That paper was the file of my..my mom. I gasped and the boys turn in concern.

" What's wrong Lu?" I slowly read every word on the paper .

"This…This is my mom's registration form." The boys came closer and they all lean over the paper to read along. It gave me a chill, I don't know what to think of this but I fold the paper and slip it in my pocket. We all got up and finally all those papers were back in the boxes. " Sting next time be carful, I'm so tired!" I exclaimed. " okay I think we shouldn't go out together at the same time." Rogue spoke up as Loki and I already stood at the door. I turn around" Why you say that?"

" Well it would be suspicious , don't you think?" We all thought there for a seconds and he was right , I went first and the other would wait five minutes then the next one would go out.

I walk through the hallways, thinking about what to do next. Lunchtime was almost over but I still got ten minutes . I go to my locker and replace my books. On the other side of the hall I saw Lisanna and Natsu. 'Are they talking?'

Ooh god Lucy what are you thinking? I'm not his girlfriend! Why am I thinking like that, I'm not jealous! I am not jealous.

They are just talking. They can talk I mean it's not like there is a punishment for talking to people. But somehow my heart feels lowered.

I look closer at the two of them talking. It looked like it was a deep conversation. What is it about? seriously? I sat down at a bench, it was hidden because o a plant that stood next to it so they was no way they could see me.

Even though it looked like I'm stalking them , I am not. Why is he listening so carefully at what she has to say? I press my lips together thinking again that there is no way I'm jealous , why would I be . I laugh hysterically in my thought

Ooh god… I'm jealous.
