Chapter 19 – The end of the terror
Bojing has disappeared into the lava forever. Mitzi held onto Rudolph's hand, trying to pull her son up but she's not strong enough!
"Hold on, Rudolph!" Mitzi said.
"Mother! I'm slipping! I can't hold on!" Rudolph shouted in pain, holding his torso.
"Rudolph! Rudolph don't! Rudy...!" Rudolph slipped out of his mother's grasp "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Mitzi watched in horror as her beloved son fell down, it appeared to be going in slow motion, but then...Po came and caught Rudolph from a lower level. Yes! He grunted as he pulled the reindeer to safety, Mitzi smiled brightly of happiness and relief before she began making her descent down to that level.
With Po and Rudolph, the panda pulled the reindeer safely away from the edge, Rudolph looked up at him, the reindeer smiled brightly before giving Po a hug with one arm, Po smiled as he patted his buddy's back. Mitzi opened the door to see her son hugging the panda, she smiled a full smile of happiness, Rudolph stood up, his mother ran up and hugged him gently, the reindeer hugged back. Mitzi pulled back.
"Oh, Rudolph, you were incredible against that evil tiger," she said with an amazed tone and look.
Rudolph chuckled "Well...hard physical training and exercise helped me get that way..." Po stood up smiled and at the mother and son.
"So, Miss Mitzi, what...circumstances meeting you again," Po said with a slight chuckle. Mitzi slightly chuckled and said, "Same to you, Po, thank you so much for rescuing my son." She hugged the giant panda, he returned it.
"Well, I couldn't let my buddy fall, now could I?" Po asked.
"Nope, I wouldn't think so," Mitzi replied, pulling away. Po examined Rudolph's wounds, he slightly cringed at the claw marks. He went up to Rudolph.
"Hey, Rudolph, I still have a little Hero's Chi left, why don't I fix that wound?" Po asked.
"You can do that?" Rudolph asked. Po nodded and said, "Yes. I want to heal you." Rudolph agreed and said, "Okay, let 'er rip." Po's right palm began glowing with his golden Hero's Chi, Mitzi's eyes widened in amazement, Po gently touched Rudolph's wound, the reindeer slightly cringed at first, but then it began to feel good. Mitzi gasped as she covered her mouth and eyes widened when she saw Rudolph's wound heal and when the Chi cleared, it was as if the claw marks were never there in the first place. Rudolph looked and he gasped, he looked up at Po with an amazed look before grasping the panda in a hug.
"Thank you, Po..." he said, "I'm exhausted...can...can we get off this tower?"
Po chuckled, "I was about to ask the same thing." Rudolph pulled back, he took his mother's hand, as they began walking Mitzi whispered to her son, "That was amazing."
"More like...awesome," Rudolph chuckled, causing Po to chuckle as well.
Po exited the tower with his friend and his friend's mother by his side, when they did the sun shined its golden light on them, as if it's thanking them for defeating Bojing and his evil plan, the sky is golden and clear, the atmosphere is joyful and peaceful. Then a bunch of cheering came from in front of them. They got out of the sun's light to see the hundreds of Qianglie Clan members cheering for them for defeating the robots, Bojing and ending the War for good. Po proudly grabbed Rudolph's hand and then raised his hand proudly in the air with Rudolph's, the reindeer chuckled at the panda's way to celebrate. Blitzen came running up with four of the Furious Five.
"Son!" Blitzen shouted.
"Dad!" Rudolph shouted, he let go of Po's grasp and hugged his dad real tight, Mitzi went over to him and hugged and kissed him, the Four of the Five, tackled Po giving them their congratulations again, the panda laughed a bit as he hugged his friends back.
"Hey guys, where's Tigress?" Po asked softly.
"She's coming this way, she can't wait to see you again," Viper said.
"And I can't wait to see her!" Po said before getting up and leaving to go find Tigress, the Four smiled as their friend went to look for his girlfriend and love. When Po left, Rudolph hugged both his parents, not wanting to let go.
"I missed you guys so much, I love you guys," Rudolph said, happy he has his family back. Then...he frowned, a thought came to him, after all this, this may be his last adventure with Po and the Five, Arrow might've exposed the North Pole's location to the world, and if so, Rudolph won't ever see him again. His ears droop as he thinks of that.
With Po, he continues to push his way through the crowd saying things like "Excuse me" "Pardon me" "Dragon Warrior coming through." He keeps pushing his way past the crowd before finally emerging out, he looked around for Tigress.
"Tigress?" he called out. He listened for her angelic voice, he called out again as he began running. Then he saw a tiger in her white and golden nightgown, his eyes widened as his ears perked up, "Tigress!"
"Po?" Tigress called out. Po smiled brightly as he began running over to her, "Po!" Tigress began making her way too him woozily, but she stopped, fearing she'd fall over. Po slowed down a bit and then hugged Tigress as tight as he could without hurting her, he began crying onto her shoulder, and Tigress began crying onto his shoulder. Po pulled back and saw her crying.
"Why are you crying?" Po sniffled.
"Oh, Po! I'm so happy to see you! Being with that...monster was a nightmare to the bone! It...it was the worst time of my life! Worse than the Orphanage!" Tigress cried out. Po then kissed her firmly on the mouth, Tigress jolted as she cried, kissing her panda back, his lips are warm, very warm, she missed being in his arms and feeling his warm kisses. They cried onto one another, Tigress told him that Bojing did all terrible things to her like what they saw earlier, bossed her around, never gave her privacy and even worse, but that's all behind her, she has her panda back.
"I love you so much Po," Tigress sobbed.
"And I love you so much too, Tigress," Po sobbed as they held onto each other for dear life. Shifu had been observing the two hugging for a minute now, he smiled brightly seeing his two students hug one another, and he's very relieved to have his daughter out of there safely. Po pulled back, he examined Tigress' condition, he slightly cringed, but then his right palm began glowing.
"What's that?" Tigress asked, trying to regain her composure.
"It's the Hero's Chi, I can heal you with it," Po said softly, "It's the last of it." Tigress nodded and said, "Do it." Po gently touched Tigress' he rubbed her head, she slightly gasped as she began to feel warm, the golden Chi went all around her body, healing her wounds, curing her of the poison as well. The Hero's Chi wore out and when it did, Po saw Tigress is perfectly wound free.
"Oh, wow," Tigress said, amazed, "Not a lick of pain anymore...and I feel normal again." She looked up at Po, she smiled brightly and said, "Thank you, Po. I love you so much." She wrapped her arms very tight around Po, the panda hugged her back as tight as he could, tears trickled down their faces, they just don't want to let go of one another at all. They kissed again, Rudolph emerged out with his parents and with Four of the Five, Po and Tigress looked over at them, and they smiled brightly at them. Rudolph walked up to Tigress, when he got to her, she hugged him. Rudolph was caught off guard, but he smiled and hugged her back.
"Thank you so much for rescuing me," Tigress said softly.
"It was a team effort, I'm just glad you're okay," Rudolph said softly.
Tigress pulled back and smiled warmly at the reindeer, which the reindeer returned. Then Zoey emerged from the crowd and called out "Rudolph!" Rudolph turned around and before he knew it Zoey planted her lips firmly onto his. Rudolph stifled up a gasp, but he settled into the kissing. Zoey pulled back and hugged him, Rudolph did the same. Arrow was watching from the crowd, he stayed hidden but he smiled, finally letting Zoey go and letting his cousin be happy. He turned away, feeling ashamed for all that he's done.
"Hey Dad, has everyone gotten to safety?" Rudolph asked as he held Zoey close.
"Yes, we've all gotten out, including Santa and Mrs. Clause, but sadly...several adult reindeer died..." Blitzen said, frowning.
"What happened?" Po asked, frowning a bit.
"Too much heat..." Blitzen said a bit sadly.
"That's why we don't let civilians out, they must learn to slowly adapt before coming out," Rudolph said, he sighed for the loss of the lives. Then Bai Li emerged from the crowd, she smiled brightly when she saw the warriors reunited. She walked up to them.
"Queen Bai Li," Shifu said. They all bowed to her, Bai Li smiled a bit wider and said, "Thank you so much for doing all that you did. Especially the two fighters there." The warriors smiled and Po said "A little Dragon Warrior awesomeness never gets old." Tigress playfully nudged him a bit. Bai Li stepped up to Tigress and said, "And Tigress, if you hadn't said something about being uneasy...I might not would've done anything. You convinced me to investigate and I did."
"I did?" Tigress asked, a bit amazed.
Bai Li nodded, "I did, and I found the answer. That one move is what made this possible now. Thank you, Tigress." Bai Li bowed and Tigress bowed back saying "Thank you, Your Highness." Bai Li nodded as her husband came out by her side.
"And I would also like to give you all my humble gratitude, all of you will always be welcomed among the Qianglie Clan people," Guang said, smiling.
"Thank you, Your Majesty," Tigress said, smiling.
"And the whole country of China will be celebrating the defeat of the Shengdas, it's going to be the biggest celebration ever from what I heard," Guang added.
"Awesome," Po said, smiling holding his girlfriend closer. Guang took note of that, he walked up to them, they felt a little nervous.
"Ah, you two are in love," he said.
Po was unable to say anything, but Tigress stepped forth and said "Yes...Your Majesty, he was to be my husband in a few weeks, but my wedding with Bojing got in the way...I never loved him, I did it only for the sake of China, only to find it was a fraud. With all due respect, Sire, I desire for my wedding to be overturned so that I may marry him." Guang looked at the panda, whom is very nervous on what he might say. Bai Li came to her husband's side and said, "It's not wrong for them to marry, if they want it, let them have it." Guang looked at his wife, then back at Po and Tigress.
"I'll get the Emperor to make an announcement," he said.
"Oh, thank you so much!" Po exclaimed, Shifu slapped his forehead while Guang just chuckled. Rudolph smiled, happy for the panda and tiger, Zeng went up to Meili and hugged her.
"Oh, my lady!" he said.
"Oh!" Meili said, startled. Zeng gave her some red flowers and he continued to hug her. Guang went to go find Emperor Bingwen, while Rudolph frowned again, he walked up to Po.
"Hey Rudy, why the long face?" Po asked. Rudolph twirled his fingers around and said "I...I don't know if I'll be able to see you again after this..."
"What? Why?" Tigress asked.
"Oh..." Po said, frowning, "Arrow might've exposed the North Pole's location to the world...if he did...we won't be able to see Rudolph again and there'll be no more toys for the kids." Tigress slightly gasped, she looked at Rudolph with wide eyes then it turned into a look of sorrow.
"He's changed, but he knows the damage he's caused," Rudolph said. He sighed and continued, "I wish I could be here a bit longer, but I need to get them back home."
"How?" Po asked, frowning, sad that Rudolph's leaving and they may not see him again.
"Arrow will probably have a solution," Rudolph replied, "Speaking of which, I need to find him and get our friends and family back home. I'll...I..." He trailed off, Po nodded and then he hugged Rudolph, the reindeer hugged back, letting some tears slip out, Zoey, the other Five got into a group hug, Tigress decided to get in it as well, all are saddened they might not see Rudolph again. After what seemed like forever, they reluctantly let go of him. Rudolph pulled off a sad smile.
"Po, Tigress," he said, holding back tears, "Good luck on your future, I'll be wishing you nothing but the best." He bowed, Po and the others bowed back as well, Rudolph sniffed before Zoey grabbed his arm, she's frowning too, Rudolph gave the 'farewell' sign before he left with Zoey and his parents. When they were away, Po began crying, the Five and Shifu looked at him with sad looks, the panda dropped to his knees and began sobbing, they all except Shifu hugged him, the red panda would hug him if not for his wounded arm. Bai Li frowned for the panda as well, feeling ashamed they might not see Rudolph again.
"I'm gonna miss him, Tigress..." Po sobbed.
Tigress nodded as she held back tears, "Me too, Po..." The Five continued to give Po their best comfort. With Rudolph, he walks with his parents and Zoey, then his lips began trembling. He began sobbing, Blitzen hugged his son as they stopped walking, Zoey and Mitzi frowned even more.
"I'm gonna miss him, Dad..." Rudolph sighed.
"I know you are, son..." Blitzen said softly. Mitzi and Zoey hugged Rudolph as well, giving him the best comfort they can.
After 3 minutes had passed, Rudolph calmed down a bit and they began looking for Arrow.
"Arrow?" Blitzen called out.
"Arrow?" Rudolph called out.
They kept looking for Arrow, they need him to get back home. Then they spotted him, sitting on a rock overlooking a mountain in the distance. The family and Zoey ran up to him.
"Arrow," said Rudolph. Arrow just sighed, not looking up at all.
"There you are, we need you," Mitzi said.
"For what reason? After what all I've done, I don't deserve to be needed and I don't deserve forgiveness from you or by the Most High..." Arrow said as a tear trickled down his face.
Rudolph knelt down to him, "Arrow, that's what grace is. It's undeserving, I've forgiven you, and God will if you choose to accept Him. We've taught you all what to do to become saved and you still have that choice."
"How can you forgive someone so rotten like me?"
"God will, if you accept Him, believe me, Arrow, I forgive you, and I'm willing to start over with you, there're people who were worse than you and they turned around. I'm sure the others will forgive you as well."
Arrow shook his head, "I'm...just so ashamed for what I've done."
"You should be, but are you willing to start anew and reconcile with the people who love you? I'm proud you've come this far, and I'll love it if you come to Him, and He will too."
Arrow looked up at Rudolph, a tear trickled down his face, his eyes full of regret, "I'm so sorry..." Rudolph hugged Arrow. Arrow tensed up, but he relaxed and hugged his cousin back.
"We forgive you, Arrow," said Zoey. Blitzen said "Yes, we do" as Mitzi agreed. Rudolph helped Arrow up. Arrow sighed and said, "I'll start anew with you." Rudolph smiled and said "I'm so grateful you decide to."
"Anyway, is there a way for us to get back to the North Pole?" Zoey asked. Arrow began thinking, then something came to him.
"Yes, when the giant robot came out, it didn't completely destroy the area, I know where some reserve Magic is, it's still there, I know it is," Arrow said.
"Let's get it then," said Rudolph.
"But we have to fly for about 6 hours and back and only three people can go," said Arrow, "If we get enough Magic from the North Pole, we'll be able to get everyone all at once."
"Let's do it," said Rudolph. Arrow nodded, Rudolph looked at his parents and said "I'll go with him to get the Magic, then Dad, I, and Arrow will take you two back to the Pole with us, and come back for the others."
"Okay, be careful son," Blitzen said. Rudolph nodded and said, "I will." Then Arrow and Rudolph left to go get the remaining Magic. We follow them as they make their way through the village and behind where the Palace once stood. Rudolph briefly looked at the happy, cheering Chinese souls for Po, he wishes he could be with Po longer but he must do what he has to do. He followed Arrow down the shaft and into the area, Arrow walked a little ways to the right and then he opened a hidden shaft. Rudolph's eyes slightly widened. Arrow looked at him.
"I told you, I'd take things into my own hands if he betrayed me," Arrow said, "Of course...this was also for other things..."
"Okay..." Rudolph said. Then Arrow pulled out three containers of Magic, he handed them to Rudolph, he nodded before they headed out. As they began walking back to the others, Arrow took note that Rudolph would miss Po. They came back to Rudolph's parents and Zoey. Arrow sighed, then he took the three containers.
"You're not coming," Arrow said.
"What?" Rudolph said, Arrow held up his hand before anyone said anything.
"Look Rudolph, I know you'll miss your friends, so, why don't you stay back with them for the time being?" he said.
"But I need..."
"You'll just be making an extra trip with loads of magic, after what you've been through, you deserve some relaxation time with them, as for me, I've got consequences to face..."
Rudolph couldn't believe what he's hearing, his eyes are wide, then he asked "You're sure?" Blitzen stepped forward and said, "Yes, he's sure. Go, you need to be with them." Rudolph hugged Arrow and his father, they both hugged back. Rudolph broke loose and he hugged his mother and Zoey. Zoey brought him in for a kiss, he smiled and said, "My turn." Then he planted a kiss firmly on Zoey's lips, which she gladly returned with passion. He pulled away and said to her, "Go with them, you need to be back up there."
"I'll see you later," Zoey said, smiling. Rudolph briefly kissed her again before running off to be with his friends again while they smiled. Then Arrow and Blitzen got ready to take off with Mitzi and Zoey.
With Rudolph, he pushes his way past the crowd and then he finds Po chatting with his friends, and his new friends, Bai Li and Meili. He smiled brightly as he ran over to them.
"Hey Po!" Rudolph called out. They looked over and they looked surprised to see him.
"What?! Rudolph?!" Po said out of shock. Rudolph hugged Po, he pulled back, smiling.
"What happened, Rudolph?" Tigress asked.
"Arrow told me to stay...I need relaxation after what I've been through with you guys," Rudolph replied.
"What really?!" Mantis said, shocked.
"Yeah, I could use a rest by now," Rudolph chuckled.
"And that you'll get," said Guang, walking over.
"Oh, darling, what's the news?" Bai Li asked.
"The Emperor will be announcing the overturn of Tigress' wedding, plus he also wants to host a wedding at the Qianglie Palace for Po and Tigress," Guang said.
"What?!" Po shouted out of shock, "But I've not bought a ring! Well, I did, but it broke!"
"Don't worry, I'll help you find one," Guang assured him.
"But my Dad! He would want to see the wedding!"
"We'll send our flying buddy out to go get him and bring him here, we'll be having it in three days."
"Oh, wow..." Tigress said, "I never suspected this."
"It's an honor for your panda and the reindeer for saving the world," Guang said.
Po's very astonished by this, he never expected to have a wedding at a royal Palace, neither did the others! Po began thinking, he did kinda want to have a home wedding, but how could he pass up this? Po smiled warmly, holding Tigress close and said "I gladly accept, Your Highness."
"And I don't want to rule as Queen anymore," Tigress said, she looked at Po, "I already have a place right in the Valley of Peace."
"And that, I'll tell to the Emperor," Guang said.
"What about the Ice Crystal?" Rudolph asked.
"When they come back, I'm sure you'll get it out too."
Rudolph smiled, he cracked his back and said, "That said...can we get to the Palace now?"
"Yes," said Guang. With that, they began moving, Crane went up to the Emperor and asked "May I help set the wedding stage?"
"Sure."
"Yes," Crane said, smiling, Shifu simply shook his head, Crane is crazy about setting things up for weddings. Guang began shouting for the soldiers to move and bring the prisoners, Po patted Rudolph on the back. Bai Li stepped up next to Rudolph and said, "I've arranged some of our soldiers to get your North Pole citizens to the Palace safely and so they won't be bothered."
"Good, they can't handle all the people crowding around them," Rudolph said.
"I can understand that," Bai Li replied. And with that, the exhausted warriors, Guang, his army, the prisoners, Bingwen and the North Pole citizens began heading back to the Qianglie Clan's Palace.
A/N: Well, there you go. :D We're going to see their wedding in the next chapter, but the question is, what's going to happen with Rudolph? Will Po never see him again? Stay tuned. :D
