Me: What up peeps!? Don't you dare stop this intro this soon into it!
*Wolverine smirks* Wolverine: Enjoy.
Me: I hate y-
DB opened Avispa's door and walked up to her bed with a bowl of oatmeal. He set it on the nightstand and gently shook her until she woke up. She blinked her eyes a couple times and, when she realized what happened, she gave DB a questioning look. "Okay. What gives? Why are you waking me up gently and...Is that oatmeal?"
"To answer your last question, yes." Avispa took it and began eating as though she hadn't eaten in a few days, getting a chuckle from DB as he sat down. "And to answer your first two questions..You helped me a lot yesterday with the Lyra problem. So, I figured I'd thank you like this."
Avispa stopped her savage eating and turned to DB, swallowing what was in her mouth. "You don't need to thank me. I was only doing what I thought was right. Besides, you've done more for me than anypony ever has. That is more than enough."
DB shook his head. "Look, I took you in on an order. True, I would have taken you in if I wasn't ordered, but that's beside the point. You were forced into my home, you were forced to this village, you were forced into this life. So, I had to give you a room, food to eat, things to spend your time doing. But, you didn't have to save me from that crazy chick. You could have just let things go however they would and not worried about it. But, you didn't." He let a smile grace his face. "I will say that I've enjoyed having you here."
Avispa smiled back. "I've enjoyed being here, as well. But, even with being forced into having me here, you didn't have to get the meat, you didn't have to cook those amazing meals you've made, you didn't have to clean up after each meal, you could have made me do that. You didn't have to show me your training room, you didn't even need to let me have a bed. You could have made me sleep on the couch!" Her smile grew slightly. "So, why wouldn't I want to help somepony who's that good of a friend?"
DB's smile turned into a smirk. "Oh? What's this? Is the big tough changeling becoming a softy and letting a Bishop into her line-up?"
Avispa chuckled and rolled her eyes. "Okay. Yes, I am. I have been pulled into your crazy world. But, you still haven't sold me on the romance."
DB's smirk grew devious. "You have no idea what kind of monster you've just unleashed." He walked out with a chuckle.
Avispa watched him leave. "I've never felt so intimidated before in my life."
DB rushed back in, holding a rock with a paper on it. "Lyra tried to throw this through one of the windows. Luckily, the shield kept the window from being broken. But, read the note."
He held it up to Avispa. It read:
My dearest DB,
I will stop at nothing, NOTHING, to make you mine again. Those guards won't stop me. That changeling abomination won't stop me. None of your friends will stop me. YOU! WILL! BE! MINE! MINE!
With greatest love,
Lyra
xoxoxo
P.S. Could you send a message back about human evolution of literature?
"She's crazy. But, at least she knows what her two goals are."
"Yeah. I guess that's one thing. Anyways, the guards told me they will be walking with us wherever we go. So, we'll be protected from Lyra if she tries to attack us. Now, I'm going to the library, you go on to work when you're ready. See ya."
"See ya." DB walked out and Avispa finished her meal before leaving, as well.
with DB, half an hour later
Twilight could do nothing but face-hoof at DB's "brilliant" idea. "I thought you said you learned your lesson."
"I did say that."
"It doesn't look like you have, though."
"No. It doesn't, does it?"
"I just have to ask, WHY!?"
DB looked at the flier he had made, the centerpiece being a picture of Avispa. Above it, it read, "Eligable Changeling Bachelorette, Seeking Eligable Bachelor". Even the guardshad a hard time keeping their composure, as evidenced by the smiles they were straining to keep off their faces. DB replied, "Well, if you read down here, in the fine print, you'll get your answer."
Twilight levitated he magnifying glass over to where he had pointed out and face-hoofed again. The fine print read, "she said she isn't sold on romance being so greatm which, if you know me, means she presented a challenge for me to prove her wrong. I will not stop until I do." Twilight sighed. "Only you."
"Soooo...Will you help me?"
Twilight lowered her hoof and asked, "Are you going to beg if I say no?"
"No."
"Will you use blackmail?"
"Maybe."
"You're going to remind me of favors you've done for me and I said I owed you one."
"Yep."
"And if that doesn't work, you'll use blackmail."
"Yep."
"Fine."
"Yay. Now, I need about three thousand copies."
"Alright. I'll let you know when they're done."
"Thanks! I'll see you later! Also, this'll wipe out three of the favors I can call in. Which leaves two. Bye!" He walked out with his guards and Twilight sighed.
"That is one infuriating stallion. I'm just glad we aren't dating anymore. Even if it was fun for that month." She then walked of to make copies.
with Avispa
Business had been slow today. Though, it probably had something to do with two royal guard ponies standing near the front of the shop. As such, Avispa tried getting conversation out of the guards. "Sooo...You two got any family?" No response. "Anything you like to do when not guarding somepony?" No response. "Have you gotten anywhere on finding Lyra?"
Finally, the guard on her right said, "No."
"That's dissappointing. Any reason you aren't answering my other questions?" No response. "You two are about as insufferable as DB, but because of an entirely different reason. His stupid babbel would be much appreciated right now."
"I didn't know you cared so much." Avispa looked up to see DB smirking at her. "It makes me feel so loved to hear you talk like that."
"Just don't get used to it."
"I already know better than to do that." The two chuckled. "So, how's business going today?"
Avispa pointed to the two guards. "I think they're doing a wonderful job of keeping customers away."
DB looked at both of them, then motioned at his two. "They've done a wonderful job of keeping ponies from talking to me. Well, I was just checking in on you before I did some professional investigative research into trying to find Lyra."
"You really think you can do better than the Royal Guard?"
DB shrugged. "Only one way to find out. And, I'm off." He teleported out, accidentally taking the armor off of the guards next to him. They both walked out like nothing happened, and began their search for DB.
After a couple seconds of silence, one of the guards finally asked, "Does he do that kind of stuff often?"
"Unforetunately, yes. Now, why didn't you answer my other questions?"
"We've been trained to stay stoic and unresponsive under most situations."
"Ah."
with DB, three hours later
He was sitting at a cafe, wearing a detective hate and had a bubble pipe in his mouth. He was looking over some evidence files, trying to figure out where Lyra was. A pony tapped him on the shoulder. He turned and seen Twilight and Spike with a wagon full of fliers. "Got them all done?"
"Yes. Do you want us to begin putting them up now?"
"Yes. We'll put them up where Avispa won't walk, that way we'll get at least a few offers before she finds out."
"She's gonna kill you when she finds out, though."
"Don't care."
two days later, noon
DB and Avispa were heading to Carousel Boutique, much to the confusion of Avispa. Luckily, DB had made sure they took down some of the fliers before he took Avispa that way. "Why aren't you telling me why we're heading this way?" DB only smirked. Avispa groaned. "You can be so insufferable. Not as insufferable as Lyra. But, no pony can be that insufferable."
"Especially since we have four royal guards around us at all times. But, from my own investigation, she is on the move at night, and finds a place to sleep during the day. It's different every day. And, we're here." DB opened the door for Avispa.
She walked in and Rarity presented several dresses. "So, which one would you like for your date with Thunderlane tonight?"
"What?"
Rarity replied, "Your date with Thunderlane. Didn't DB tell you about this?" Rarity levitated a flier to her. She turned to where DB was, only to see both he and his gaurds were gone. The other two were trying to keep their composure, but failing miserably.
"DB is so gonna get it." She ebgan heading out, only for Rarity to livtate her. "What's the big idea!?"
"DB asked us to make sure you got ready for the date."
"I'm not getting out of this, am I?"
"Only if you can get through me, Rainbow Dash, who is doing this only to get a laugh and because she owes DB some favors, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, and DB."
Avispa sighed and resigned herself to this fate. "Fine."
that evening
Avispa stormed into the house and DB looked up from his book. "Bad date?"
"Easy way of putting it." She began storming upstairs. "And you better sleep with one eye open!"
He called up, "Always do! Also, you have a date tomorrow night. And the night after that."
Me: And it seems Avispa has some dates lined up thanks to DB.
Wolverine: He seems to enjoy annoying her.
Me: He does. He enjoys being a tormentor to his friends.
Wolverine: He sounds like Deadpool, but with morals.
Me: Yeah. In a way, he is.
Wolverine: Review.
