"Evelyn Clara Reeves, get your arse here NOW!"

Evelyn's head shot up like a bullet and she dropped the book she was reading. She got up from the couch she was resting on in the Gryffindor Common Room and hesitantly approached the girls dorm where Lily Evans awaited her.

"Yes, Lily?"

Lily eyes watered and she hugged Evelyn. Lily was still in the her sleepwear and her hair was a mess. Evelyn hugged Lily back.

"Did anything happen?" Evelyn asked.

"Are you mad at me?" Lily asked in response. Evelyn thought about that for a moment.

"Just don't do it again."

Lily nodded and wailed into Evelyn's shoulder. "Do you hate me now? Are we not friends anymore? You didn't wake me up like you usually do! When I woke up you were gone!"

"Oh," Evelyn said, now realizing why Lily was upset. "I woke up early today and didn't want to bother you. Sorry." She said.

Lily's face brightened up. "Really? That's it? Great! So how's Daniel?" She asked, completely oblivious.

Evelyn took a shaky breath and it finally came down on her. She cried into Lily's shoulder who was extremely confused. Lily helped Evelyn up and slowly brought her to the Common Room couch to be more comfortable.

"Hey, Evy, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Lily asked worriedly.

Evelyn shook her head and cried her heart out. She cried for everything. She cried for what happened with Sirius, for Daniel and for her confusion towards Remus. She cried for James, her lost best friend and for Lily who set her up time and time again. She let it all go.

People started leaving the Common Room, thinking that they shouldn't interrupt. Catherine, James and Remus were sitting on the couch opposite of them while Sirius and Peter had left the Common Room with everyone else.

Catherine had already been in the Gryffindor Common Room before the commotion. She caught Evelyn before she went through the Portrait Hole and Evelyn invited Catherine inside to read with her.

On their way out, Gryffindors had given Catherine glaring looks but left it alone even though she was a Slytherin. It might've been because she looked scary or because James didn't seem to mind her being there. Almost all Gryffindors trusted The Marauders opinion over their own. It was comical. Either way there was no trouble.

It was silent aside from Evelyn's sobbing. Lily tried lightly shaking Evelyn.

"Hey, what happened?"

"Why didn't anyone tell you about Daniel?" Evelyn asked. "Everything happened. It's everything at one." She snapped and then walked up to her dorm.

Remus glanced wistfully after Evelyn and then looked down. Lily looked as if she had just been slapped. "What happened with Daniel that I don't know about?"

Catherine and James looked at each other then at Remus. He seemed unresponsive so he couldn't be the one to tell her.

Catherine sighed. "Fine. Let's do this." She looked to James who nodded back at her very seriously.

Catherine took a deep breath and got her fist ready. James did the same. Catherine looked at James who looked back.

"Ready?" She asked. He had determination in his eye and he nodded. "Okay! Rock, paper, scissors!"

"You arse! You cheated, I saw!" Catherine yelled at James. She had her hand in the paper position while James had chosen scissors.

"Did not!"

"Did too! You went later than I did so you clearly saw what I was going to do!"

"How dare you accuse me of doing something as low as 'cheating'? Fine, rematch and this time-"

"Cut it out!" Lily yelled. "Just tell me."

At Lily's yelling, Remus started coming back to life. He looked at them all, shook his head then went up to the boys dorm.

"What's up his arse?" Catherine asked. James smirked knowingly. Lily had always been suspicious, she suspected it but she never got it confirmed. James smirk was enough confirmation.

James noticed Lily's satisfied expression. "You know, don't you?"

Lily nodded, happy to finally know something around here. Catherine decided not to push it.

"So, about Daniel. He's a douche." Catherine said bluntly. James nodded in agreement.

Lily looked puzzled. "I don't think I understand."

"Oh, Lily and your pure mind." He said in a pitying voice. "How you trust people so easily."

Lily frowned. "What?"

"Despite your academic excellence, you're really dense, you know that?" Catherine said in exasperation. Lily looked offended. "Daniel was not-so-secretly shagging Julianna every chance he got. He even planned to shag her the night of the dance."

Lily shook her head. "No, he wouldn't."

"Yes, he would." James said in a completely serious voice.

"Did he actually tell you this? How do you know if Julianna, no, Walker is even telling the truth? How can you trust her?" She said angrily.

"He confessed." He said.

Lily looked stumped. "H-he couldn't have.." She mumbled.

"He did." James said in an irritated voice. It wasn't towards Lily, more towards the fact that she had so much faith in Daniel.

She took a deep breath. "I totally screwed Evelyn over."

"That's what we've been telling you the whole time!" James said in a false-exasperated tone.

Lily punched him in the arm. Sirius and Peter slowly walked back into the Common Room and looked around the room carefully.

James rolled his eyes. "All clear." He called to them.

Sirius let out a breath. "Thanks."

Sirius and Peter sat themselves down around Lily, Catherine and James. "Who's up for Exploding Snaps?"

Evelyn hid under the covers. When she was little, that's what she did when she wanted privacy. Her room never had a lock in the Reeves Manor. Her parents didn't trust her with having a lock on her door. Scared she would sneak out to play with the muggles. So when she was having a moment she would hide. Hide from her life, hide from her problems.

She was being stupid, she knew that. She should just go back out there, keep her head up high and smile. That's what she should do but instead, Evelyn just sulked.

She knew she had to get over it but for now, she let herself be sad. She let herself feel and let herself show weakness.

So she did, and she kept sulking until she heard an explosion and angry yelling.

"Reducto!" Boom!

"Did you seriously have to blow up the couch?!" Sirius yelled. "Confundus!"

"Protego!" Catherine yelled, barely getting the shield up in time. "Furnunculus!" She shot back.

Sirius cursed as boils started growing on his face. "Incarcerous!"

Catherine's eyes widened as ropes tied her down. Sirius smirked as if he had finished her but she wasn't done yet. She gripped her wand under the ropes. "Diffindo!"

The ropes severed and she got up. She growled. "Accio cards!" She yelled and the left over Exploding Snap cards that hadn't exploded floated in front of her. "Oppugno!"

The cards raced towards Sirius and he ducked just in time. The cards exploded against the wall behind him. "Geez, woman, calm down! Impedimenta!"

Catherine side stepped the curse. "Are you trying to kill someone?! Stumpefy!" She cried as a jet of red light burst from her wand.

"Protego!" Sirius called, bringing up the shield causing the spell to bounce off and hit another couch.

"Rictusem-"

"What are you guys doing?!" Evelyn screamed.

Both of their heads whipped around and they dropped their wands. "Oh, uh-" Sirius stuttered.

Lily and James looked up from behind the couch they had taken cover behind. It was the one couch that had been left unharmed. They both stood up to explain.

"Sirius and Catherine are fighting." James said.

"No duh, but why?"

"They were playing Exploding Snaps and then Sirius, being a sore loser, made a comment about Catherine's piercings and her defence skills when he lost. Then she made a comment about his hair and, well, this." Lily said, gesturing to Sirius and Catherine.

Sirius glared at Lily. "I am not a sore loser. I just happen to be a humble winner who has amazing hair."

Evelyn looked around. The entire Common Room was trashed. Evelyn sighed. "Whatever, please keep it down. And clean up after yourselves." She said in a tired voice and went back up to the girls dorm.

The four of them all exchanged looks.

"Wow." Lily said first.

They all nodded in agreement.

"It's amazing Remus hasn't come down here by now." Sirius said.

"True." James said. "Where's Peter?"

"Here!" They heard from the other side of the room.

They saw Peter coming out from the boys dorm. "It was safe." Peter said.

Lily laughed. "Why didn't we think of that?"

"Because I'm a Marauder." Peter shrugged.
