AN: the author of this story, in no case, claims that he or she (but obviously a he) is the owner of Soul eater. Further, the author wishes to express that all stereotypes towards the French is sorta okay, since the author is of French decent.

Okay, that should keep the man off of my case for now, welcome kids! It's story time! So I actually wrote this chapter last year in June, I met a girl, fell for her, dated her, got dumped for a drug dealer one month later, had an existential crisis and slowly returned to my old self with the help of sword art online. I finished the chapter in September. And that, dear readers is why I personally hate this chapter. Now you decide?

"Ah, la ville de l'amour" Victoria said, breathing in the air as they stepped out of the airport. The others looked at her confused. "Bless you." Alex said. "I didn't sneeze, it means 'the city of love' in French." She explained. The group replied with a unified "Oh!". "Well, we should get to the hotel, Justin told me there is a Limo waiting for us." Benjamin told the group. "A Limo!? That's awesome!" Kyle exclaimed.

"Yeah. We just need to find our driver." Benjamin explained. "Pardon me, you are Benjamin, Oui?" a short, gray haired man asked them. "Yes, are you the driver?" Benjamin answered. "But of course. My name is martin, but everyone calls me Limo since I come from the region 'Limousin' and I am a driver." Limo explained. "So Justin didn't forget the 'a' between 'with' and 'Limo' when he said 'you will be going to your hotel with limo.' whoops." Benjamin thought aloud. The group facepalmed in reply.

"Here we are, enjoy your stay." Limo said as he helped them unload their luggage out of the cramped minivan that took them there. "Can I get a moment to regain circulation to my legs?" Kyle asked. Victoria laughed and playfully punched his shoulder. "Come on, silly, we need to go check in." She said. The three groups checked in and took their separate ways towards their rooms, after greeting each other for the night and arranging where to meet the next morning.

Keira and Alex were the first to arrive at their room. "Here we are" Keira said. Alex opened the door, which was impressive since he was carrying 4 suitcases (3 belonged to Keira). He dropped them inside before he got a good look at the room. "From now on, I make travel arrangements." Keira said.

The room had a door that led to a bathroom, while the kitchen, living room and bedroom were merged into one large room with two beds, a couch, a TV and mini fridge with a microwave oven on top. "Well this sucks." Alex said. "Judging by our apartments back home, I would've expected a lot better than this." Keira said, waving her hands at the room for emphasis.

"It sucks ass. Seriously, I can't think of anything to say except it sucks." Alex said, plonking down on the couch. "How about you stop speaking, get up and unpack our stuff." Keira ordered. "Gees, you give one honest opinion on how a dress makes a girl look and you end up in the dog box for it." Alex remarked as he irritatedly got up.

"Well this looks like our room." Victoria said. "Uhm, there's only one bedroom." Kyle said awkwardly. "Yeah, I guess there is." Victoria answered. "I could sleep in the tub if you want me to." Kyle offered. Victoria replied with laughter. "Don't be silly, I don't mind sharing a room. As long as you don't stare at me while I sleep or sniff my socks or something weird like that." She said. They both started laughing. They calmed down and started unpacking. Kyle was quick, and unpacking was no exception.

As soon as they finished, they both sat down and started planning. "So what do you wanna do tomorrow?" Kyle asked. Victoria thought long and hard before answering. "Training in the morning, a light lunch and then we go sightseeing." She said. Kyle nodded. "Sounds like a plan to me." He said.

Victoria took a seat, Kyle soon joining her. Kyle grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. They both groaned as they realised that all the channels were in French. They eventually settled on a love story with subtitles. Kyle made popcorn and fetched them a blanket. Victoria was paying close attention and started picking up some basic French.

When the popcorn was finished, she wanted to ask Kyle for more, but when she turned to him, she saw that he had fallen asleep. She smiled and continued watching the movie. The night got colder. She eventually fell asleep snuggled up against Kyle, smiling because everything worked out for the lucky girl in the movie. "Oh if only..." she mumbled, in her sleep.

"This seems to be our- TWO BEDS! Whoever gets one, sleeps on one!" Benjamin yelled, interrupting himself. He knew the twins would go for the nearest bed, so he immediately made a dash for the furthest one. He landed on his bed to see the twins wrestling over who gets the other bed.

He watched them go for another ten minutes before they simultaneously burst into a game of rock paper scissors. Their twin telepathy worked against them and they kept making the same choices. When this didn't work out, they went back to wrestling. Benjamin kept watching for a while longer before he got bored. Well, I guess I should start unpacking then.

Two hours later, Benjamin had unpacked everything, meditated, made himself some herbal tea and did his routine 300 push ups while the twins were still going at it. Thomas eventually won at rock paper scissors. "Best two out of three?" Neil pleaded. "NO!" was the reply, not from Thomas, But from Benjamin. "Neil, couch. I have a lot of things that I want to do tomorrow, so I need you guys up and ready and that won't happen if you keep this up."

Neil slumped off to the couch, mumbling extremely rude things under his breath. After all the fighting, they fell asleep relatively easy, except for Neil, Neil's night sucked.

Disaster was avoided by seconds since Kyle and Victoria woke up and realised that they were snuggled up, scattering apart just before Alex barged into the room with the rest of the group in tow. Kyle was behind the couch and up in a new outfit in under a second while Victoria stormed into the bathroom to get herself changed before anyone noticed.

Thank goodness for ninja skills. Kyle Haines, you just dodged a real bullet there.

"Hey guys, Victoria is still freshening up. Take a seat, anyone want something to drink?" He asked. The twins ordered orange juice, Benjamin asked for tea, Keira asked for coffee and Alex was already clutching onto an energy drink that he brought in with him. "Well that explains why he's shaking so much." Benjamin commented. "I-I'm c-c-completely f-f-f-fi-fine." Alex retorted. Benjamin sighed. "Energy drinks and an empty stomach is a bad combo." Victoria stepped out of the bathroom and greeted everyone as she made her way to the kitchen.

"Morning guys, didja sleep well?" she asked. Everyone nodded except for Neil. "Uh... Neil, why didn't you sleep well?" She asked, having to think for a moment about which twin she was talking to. All she received was the grumbling of the word "couch" from Neil and sniggers from Benjamin and Thomas. She didn't ask any more questions after that.

Everyone wolfed down their omelettes after being enticed by the smell. After Victoria was complimented on her cooking, Benjamin addressed the group. "Alright guys we don't have a lot of days to ourselves, so try and fit as much as possible into these next four days as precaution. I'll let you know when we start researching"

On that note, everyone went their separate ways and started focussing on what they had planned. Keira and Alex went looking for a violin that she wanted, Kyle and Victoria started training before wandering the streets. Benjamin went to Paris city hall. "So why are we here again?" Thomas asked. Benjamin seemed to be determined to find something and made his way straight towards the archive room.

"I told you, I'm gonna do some investigation of my own while I'm here, and what better place to start than the city hall archives, where all the records are available?" he explained.

"So they just make all the records available to the public?" Neil asked. Benjamin laughed in reply. "I never said that." He started picking the lock. They were in and started searching. "I think I found something." Benjamin said, holding up a cold case file. He was about to open it when a security guard spotted them. The short and chubby guard knew he didn't stand a chance on his own, so he ran and pressed the security button. The alarm went off and guards started storming towards the area.

Benjamin handed the file to the twins. "Take care of this and run, I'll hold them off."

"But-"

"There's no time for this, Thomas! Just go or this will all be for nothing."

The twins started running, and as they rounded their first corner, Benjamin had already knocked 5 guards out.

"So today was fun, right?" Kyle asked. Victoria looked up from a portrait a street artist painted of them. "Huh? Oh yeah..." She said, her mind somewhere else. Kyle stopped dead in his tracks and turned around, grabbing Victoria by the shoulders. "Okay, you've been off all day and I'm tired of pretending not to notice it. I think it's time for you to talk." He demanded. Victoria gave him a small smile. "It's nothing." She told him. "That's it. I'm calling it, I call bullshit." Kyle announced loudly. Victoria went into full panic mode and covered Kyle's mouth before he could draw any more attention from the crowd. "Okay fine, I'll tell you at the hotel okay?" She said submissively. She pulled her hand away. "And seriously? Licking my hand?"

"Kyle didn't answer, instead he continued munching away at a breadstick he took from the cafe they had lunch at. There was an awkward silence that was starting to form between them so Kyle sped up his pace to reach the hotel faster. Victoria saw him speed up and decided to have some fun, so she slowed down. "Kyle, I'm tired! Can't we slow down?" She called. Kyle sighed heavily and slowed down his pace. "Just joking! Let's get to the hotel!" She called as she sped past him in a flash of dazzling red.

Kyle took a while to register what's going on before he started running after her. "Hey! Wait up!" He called after her. She sped up even more in reply. I should've known. Oh well, this should be easy. Kyle started sprinting full speed after her.

"I win! I win!" Victoria yelled excitedly. Kyle was huffing exhaustedly behind her. "Only because I let you win." Victoria just laughed. "Psht, yeah whatever. Hey let's get inside, we have to meet the others in the lobby." They started walking in and immediately saw Keira, Alex and the twins, but no Benjamin in sight. As they walked closer, Kyle could see something was wrong by the looks on their faces. "Hey guys, what's up?" He asked concerned. He received silence in reply and started to worry. Keira finally broke the silence. "It's Benjamin... he's been arrested."

"Benjamin! Why!? Why did you do it man!? Why did you have to get caught!? Who's gonna be our leader now!? Oh Death! Not Keira! Oof!" Alex was busy yelling and banging at the glass, the Keira part earning him a Keira chop. Keira took the phone that was still in Alex's hand (Not that he actually spoke into it.) and sat down to talk to Benjamin. "How did you get into this?" She asked him. "It Doesn't matter, what does matter is how I get out." He replied.

Keira gave a nasty glare at the jailor. "He isn't listening to reason, so I'm not sure when you're gonna get out." Kyle got bored and pulled out his souvenir pin, which caught the jailors attention. He started going crazy and shouting in French, he had a look of complete fear on his face. Five minutes later they were all (Including Benjamin) standing outside the station. "What happened back there?" Keira asked.

"Well I'm not 100% sure, but it sounded like he said he didn't want any trouble, we should take our friend and leave. I wonder what made him freak out like that?" Victoria answered to shocked stares. "When did you learn French?" Benjamin asked. Victoria shrugged. "On the flight and last night. I've always picked up on stuff pretty easily." Benjamin nodded. "Okay, but we should get back to the hotel before they change their minds about letting me go." He said.

Benjamin managed to distract everyone enough for them not to ask why he was in jail. "Guys, I'm calling it a night. Remember, tomorrow is Keira and Alex's turn to play host." He called as he left the room. When he and the twins got to their room, he turned around to face them, a look of seriousness on his face. "You have the file?" He asked. The file was instantly produced. "Perfect, let's get started, we have a long night ahead of us."

Alex and Keira were on their own since everyone else felt a little tired. "So what are we gonna do tomorrow morning?" Alex asked, clearly not interested in the game of chess they were playing. "You just tidy up and leave the rest to me." Keira replied after she put him in checkmate (in 7 moves). "You're improving, you know?" She continued. "I practiced against this mime I met earlier... I won because he refused to say check or checkmate." Alex joked.

The laughter could be heard on the other side of the hotel, where Kyle and Victoria were staying. "I wonder what they're laughing about?" Victoria thought aloud. "Beats me." Kyle said while shrugging. "Well goodnight!" Victoria greeted, making her way to the bathroom to change. "Sit." Kyle ordered. Darn, he remembered. Victoria turned around and went back to the kitchen.

"Talk." Kyle said with rarely seen serious expression on his face. Play dumb, Victoria. "What do you mean?" She asked. "... You're playing dumb, Victoria. You know exactly what I mean. Now talk, that was the deal."Kyle said, seeing straight through her act. She sighed and sat down on the kitchen counter. "Last night on the couch we... cuddled." She said, blushing a bit. Kyle sat back, remembering the previous night.

"Oh right, we haven't really spoken about that, have we? Is that what bothered you all day? I'm sorry, it won't happen again. I-"

"You fell asleep first, Kyle, I'm the one who should apologise. It... Wasn't right of me.

"That's okay. I'm fine with it, so don't stress. I'm totally okay with what happened."

"So... You liked it?" Victoria asked with an evil smile on her face. Kyle started stuttering and couldn't find actual words to say. "Hey! Calm down. I'm only joking." She laughed. Kyle laughed along, regaining his cool soon after. "Well I'm off to bed, talk to you tomorrow, Victoria." Kyle said. They both changed in the bathroom and got in bed after exchanging goodnights. Victoria immediately fell asleep, Kyle took a little longer since he had a question floating around in his head. So... you liked it?

DWMA profile:

Name: Kyle Haines

Class/Title: *Student

*Ninja meister

More details: Kyle is an extremely agile and quick fighter. Before discovering his calling as a meister, Kyle occupied his free time with gymnastics, which would explain his agility. Kyle is the first in his family to become a meister and as a result we don't have much information on him.

Soul's side notes: Maka can't say anything about him since it all sounds offensive. First of all, he has a lisp, (I like to make him recite things) but even so I have yet to see him lose an argument due to not being taken seriously, In fact, I've yet to see him lose an argument. Secondly, he is extremely hairy and has doglike teeth, which earned him the nickname "Wolf boy" in my class. (I have no idea who originally gave it to him... ok it was me.) All above set aside, he's one of the more talented students in my group. Soul out.

AN: Do you think the guy liked it? Do you ship them? Was the chapter as bad as I think? All things The Republican really wants to know. So if you would be so kind, click on review and just let your fingers loose. Until next time, The Republican out.
