Chapter 21

Things Get Official

Finally, we get to share perspectives on this crazy life… At least now you all can see that going to poke unconscious Tobina was a bad idea right? Sadly I'm in no position to say that. Mainly because me, along with Rei, were dragging Megan along in our desperateness to be idiots one last time before life became serious with the Akatsuki. If only I had known this was only the beginning of a long adventure, a long, different, and strangely relaxing adventure. A lot more fun then what I had to go through back home right? At least now I didn't have to be reminded of my parents impending divorce every day, as my mom kicked my dad out and he had to struggle to make a life in his gloomy apartment. It made me see reality at it's cruelest. I hated reality. Naruto was an escape from that hell. I had re-watched the entirety of part one. I memorized the characters, traits, jutsus. These things were useless knowledge, yet it took my mind off of what was happening. I was happy my other friends liked the show too; I wasn't just some otaku with no one to talk to. I had even gone as far to make my own OC.

Now, you all would hate for me to go off on my pathetic life, so I'll just return to what was currently happening. The three of us were crowded around Tobina. I had taken first aid class in school, and checked her pulse. It was slow; I had no idea what that meant, maybe just from being knocked out? Rei was beginning to inch towards the door. Megan seemed bored, ready for crazy ass action if the orange masked maniac decided to pop up for another round. You could say the three of us were rather brave, I mean seriously, we were in the same room, alone, with Tobina. That's what I call badass. Sadly Rei, despite being the better Kunoichi of us, was starting to become a coward.

"C-can we go now?" Rei asked. I turned my head to her.

"Why are you such a wimp?" I asked her incredulously. She glared at me.

"I-I'm now a coward! I'm the strongest of all of us here!" She exclaimed

"Then why are you so scared of a little Tobina?" Megan asked, snickering.

"Because I don't know what it's capable of..." Rei mumbled. I gasped

"Rei! You don't even give Tobina a gender?" I said

"Well, we can never really know right?" Rei explained

"So?" I asked. Megan sighed

"I don't like being here, it's too boring… Maybe we could force Pein to give us missions for Tailed Beats!" Megan exclaimed. I jumped at the idea.

"OH HELL YES!" I agreed, pumping my fist into the air. Reis face seemed to pale

"B-B-BUT THOSE ARE TAILED BEASTS!" Rei exclaimed

"So?" Megan and I asked in unison.

"SO? WE HAVE NO CHAKRA!" Rei explained, her voice cracking. I snickered

"Going through puberty again are we Rei?" Megan asked teasingly. Rei landed a punch on her arm.

"Shut up. I don't want to d-d-die yet…" Rei muttered. Megan rubbed her arm

"Itteeeey, that hurts Rei!" She complained

"Rei. We have found ourselves in a world that shouldn't exist. We somehow find ourselves in the Akatsuki, and barely a reason to survive. If we can prove ourselves by ASKING to hunt Tailed Beats and not dying, we can stay as MEMBERS!" I explained to Rei excitedly. She seemed to ponder this

"But last thing we want ourselves as in this world of all things are criminals!" Rei retorted. Megan started to laugh

"You got time enough as a goody good Suna Kunoichi in the shadows. You only got adventure because I came along! Suck it up and start living a little!" Megan said. Rei muttered something.

"Tobina is a good girl." I suddenly heard from the black clump on the floor. All of our eyes widened in horror.

"RUN LIKE THE WIND!" Rei screamed. Not needing any motivation, we ran screaming down the hallways as Tobina regained herself and chased after us, just wanting hug. Let me tell you all, Megan and Rei had training as Shinobi, so they can run rather fast. Me, well, I wasn't so lucky and ran rather slow. Only the mere thought of Tobina catching me kept me going. I barely made it when we arrived at Pein's office; he was doing paper work when he heard our screams. He looked up, frustrated. We all ran into his office, only me panting heavily.

"TOBINA IS UP AND READY TO KILL US ALL WITH LOVE!" Megan blurted out. Around then Tobina rounded the corner and Pein turned his head to the thing. He muttered something, then lifted his hand towards Tobina and she slammed into the wall, side first. I cringed, imagining the pain.

"Leave." Pein demanded, Rei was about to oblige before I caught her.

"You're not going anywhere." I stated. She seemed to hiss at me.

"Not very attractive.." Megan muttered

"If you won't leave what is it?" Pein demanded once more. Megan seemed to perk up at this.

"We wanna be sent on missions to catch Tailed Beasts!" She exclaimed. Pein blinked, this didn't seem to be a very popular request.

"We can't have information dying." He stated.

"Yeah yeah, but we wanna prove ourselves as useful here!" I piped up.

"But the members have to get used to their new bodies." Pein once more retorted.

"I know that you're merely trying to stop us, why? And here I thought you were merciless Pein!" Rei muttered. Pein slowly turned his head to her. Megan chuckled

"Hailey, I thought you called Rei a coward?" Megan asked me. I shrugged

"I can't read minds, not even I would do that Rei!" I exclaimed. I saw Rei was beginning to shake. At moments it struck me as odd why she was bipolar when it came to bravery.

"Teams will be sent out tomorrow." Pein stated.

"SWEET! So it's the Two Tail, Three Tail, and the Four tail right?" Megan asked

"The teams will be of Hidan and Kakuzu for the Two Tailed Cat. Deidara, Sasori, and Tobi for the Three Tailed Turtle. Itachi and Kisame for the Four Tailed Monkey." Pein rolled off. Megan raised an eyebrow.

"So you won't leave Tobina out?" She asked

"Tobi is already part of the organization." Pein stated

"Okay then, but Sasori isn't prepared." She said.

"He needs to cope." Pein said.

"Well that rude of you." Megan huffed

"Do we strike you as kind people?" I heard a voice say from a pile of paperwork. We all (Except for Pein) spun around to see who had said that. The body of Konan walked around from the paperwork.

"Woah, we didn't even notice you were here!" Rei exclaimed. She sighed

"No one does." She muttered

"Poor Konan." I mumbled.

"No sympathy." Pein ordered

"So who are we all going with?" I asked excitedly.

"I'm calling a meeting." Pein stated. I shrugged and we all went into the meeting room. The minute all of the members sat down Megan sat next to Sasori, how predictable. I decided to sit next to her, and Rei sat to my right. The meeting then commenced

"Let us start the meeting." Pein said

"Meeting of Doom THE THIRD!" Megan cheered

"NO MORE MEETINGS OF DOOM!" Hidani yelled at her.

"But we need Doom meetings." Megan whimpered

"I agree with Hidan, enough with these dumb doom meetings." Pein stated. Megan looked heartbroken. I patted her shoulder reassuringly

"It's okay Megan, they just don't understand Meetings of Doom." I told her

"Of course they don't, S-Ranked criminals can be such assholes." Megan huffed. I couldn't help but notice the unintentional irony in that statement. Pein clearing his throat loudly then yanked my attention.

"We are not here to talk about the name of our meetings." He stated.

"BUT IT'S IMPORTA-" Megan started, before I slapped her upside the head

"Megan, I am NOT in the mood for you to die yet!" I hissed, she turned to me smiling besides the fact I had just hurt her

"Awww, Hailey, you care about my safety?" She cooed. I resisted the urge to slap her again

"I'm not one of these heartless bastards yet." I muttered.

"REALLY? AM I YOUR FRIEND?" She asked once more.

"Have you noticed the words 'yet' at all?" I asked her incredulously

"I'm just ignoring them." Megan explained. I sighed, and then turned back in my chair. Pein was glaring at us.

"Please don't preform Edo Tensei on us!" Megan begged.

"Megan, and you call yourself a fan, Edo Tensei is that revival thing! He uses Shira Tensei!" I scolded her. Megan blinked

"Oh. OKAY THEN!" She recovered.

"You're awful jumpy.." Rei muttered. I looked at Rei with an odd look on my face.

"W-what?" Rei asked. I jerked my finger to the red head beside Megan.

"Ooohh.." Rei mumbled

"Baka." I said. Suddenly I heard an explosion. My head whipped to the direction of Deidara. He had blown Hidans chair up.

"YOU BASTARD!" Hidan screamed at him, reaching for his scythe.

"What? It was getting boring here uhn." Deidara explained, forming a bird in his hand.

"EVERYBOOOODY!" I screamed. All heads turned to me. I had said that in an attempt to calm everyone down, sadly at moments I was a 'baka' myself…

"Err, let's begin this meeting before the entire hideout is destroyed." I blurted hurriedly. Pein nodded his head.

"As I say saying, we have gotten lazy, and I've decided we should gather the Tailed Beasts." He said. Rei, Megan and I began to glare at him. After about a minute or two of uncomfortable staring, Rei finally said something

"YOU decided?" She asked. Pein seemed annoyed

"Are we really going to fight over whose idea it was?" He asked, a threatening tone in his voice.

"Fine." Megan huffed.

"This meeting's NEVER going to end!" Hidan complained, Megan grabbed a kunai and threw it at him; it buried itself in his shoulder.

"OWW! BITCH WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?" Hidan cursed. She shrugged

"I have some from Itachira!" She explained

"Stop it with those genderbent names Megan, they're starting to confuse me..." I muttered

"SHUT UP!" I heard Pein literally roar. Needless to say, we shut up.

"So I've decided who's going where and with who they'll be taking" He said. Megan and I exchanged excited glances, while Rei still seemed to be unsure about the whole situation.

"Hidan and Kakuzu will be capturing the Two Tailed Cat, bringing Rei along." Pein started to roll off. I looked to Rei with sympathy. She seemed straight out terrified.

"Then Deidara, Sasori, and Tobi will be capturing the Three Tailed Turtle." He said. Megan seemed to deflate.

"And Itachi and Kisame will be capturing the Four Tailed Monkey, bringing Megan along." Pein finished.

"BUT I DON'T WANT TO GO WITH ITACHI AND KISAME!" Megan complained loudly, many in the room cringed away. Me however, despite be right next to her, endured it.

"But that makes all of the numbers even." Pein explained.

"But where do I fit in?" I asked him.

"You haven't had any training as a Shinobi, so you stay behind with Konan, me, and Zetsu." He explained once more.

"But I wanna go along with Sasori, Deidara, and Tobi!" Megan complained

"That's four people on a single team." Pein muttered

"So? Sasori has no puppets to use, and that was his main weapon! And either way, Itachira and Kisamai are better off, Itachira has her Sharingan, and Kisamai her sword of doom!" Megan hurriedly pressed.

"So? You're staying with Itachi and Kisame." Pein stated

"I'LL KILL MYSELF!" Megan blurted out. I turned to her, an incredulous look on my face

"That far?" I asked her

"We all have that ONE character." Megan mumbled

"Kill yourself?" Pein asked

"YEAH! VALUABLE INFORMATION LOST!" Megan yelled

"Valuable informaaaaaation." I echoed dramatically. Pein sighed

"Fine then, but if you return either, blown up, glomped to death, gouged out ears from 'Good boy' talk, or just stabbed, I'm not any part of it." Pein muttered. Megan almost jumped from her body, soul and all. She immediately enveloped me in a Death Hug

"THANK YOU HAILEY!" She screamed into my ear, I finally cringed

"I d-d-didn't do a-anyt-thing." I tried to say, but I was having the living daylights sucked out of me. She finally let go when Rei told her my face was turning purple. I then nearly collapsed into my chair.

"You all depart in a few hours." Pein stated, "Meeting closed"

And with that we dispersed. Megan was excited, Rei was telling us how she'd like her funeral, and I was miserable. I would be alone for at least FIVE DAYS… only Zetsu and Konan for company; Pein didn't count because he didn't care for anyone too much. Then everyone else got to have fun. Well, except Rei.

Note: One review. One. Stinking. Review. Last chapter was out alone for a WEEK and I only got ONE review from my ever-present awesome reviewer! I KNOW MORE THEN ONE PERSON READS MY STORY PEOPLE! PLEASE REVIEW I LOOOOVE REVIEWS! I actually got two reviews, but one-worded reviews that merely say 'Awesome' make me wanna die.

Either way I'm back and updates will become more frequent, if anyone REVIEWS that is to say =.=
